Have you ever thought there might be more to reality than what your eye can perceive? What if there was another world beyond the thin veil of our physical senses where beings beyond our comprehension fought over and influenced the course of events in human history? What if you had an invitation to join in this struggle? Would you accept even if it meant the sacrifice of your life as you now know it? Would you become a Servant of Light?

As the first book in the Servant of the Light Trilogy, The Wars Within is a great introduction to this story's imaginative view of the struggle between good and evil in the world. Without giving away too much of this engaging work, this book describes how good and evil spiritual beings recruit and manipulate / influence humans to further their respective ends in a battle that may or may not coincide with traditional human combat. On the evil side, fallen angels seek to enslave and virtually destroy humans because they are made in their creator's image and hold a special closeness to him which arouses their jealousy. On the good side, angels seek to help guide humans down a path of peace and prosperity with conflict only coming when they must oppose evil works in the world. I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys Christian fiction, insurgency-like conflicts, or just well written fiction in general with realistic, engaging characters.
