What do you think?

Falling for My Family's Enemy
I'm secretly dating the son of the man who has sworn to destroy my father.
Luke Hartwell, heir to our rival empire, the face of a family feud that has shaped my entire life. Twenty-five years of threats taught me one Hartwells are off-limits.
Then my hotel room flooded during a tech conference in Singapore.
Somehow, I end up in his suite, agreeing to share space with the enemy. Tension thick enough to drown in.
He helps with my keynote presentation. Looks at me as Elsie, not the enemy.
We discover the city together, carefully, like two people pretending they aren't already in trouble.
Then we go home and pretend nothing has changed.
Except everything did.
Stolen weekends. Secret phone calls. A relationship that could cost us everything. And when our fathers discover the truth, it does.
Luke won't walk away. I can't ask him to.
But staying together means war with our families, our careers, and everyone we love.
Our siblings are caught in the crossfire. Our mothers face a choice no one saw coming.
Two empires built on hatred, now targeting the one thing that could end it all.
Us.
They think if they destroy our future, we'll break.
They forgot that some things, once built, cannot be undone.

Rival companies, rival CEOs, and not so rival heirs to their respective companies. Luke and Elsie have only known each other as enemies but never the reason why. They have always been in the same circles but maintained their distance that is until they both find themselves together in Singapore doing panels for their respective companies. Elsie finds herself in a tricky situation and Luke comes to save the day. The fact that she agrees so easily and so does he leaves them at a crossroads. They notice they enjoy each other’s company but it’s forbidden. So now Luke and Elsie have to figure out if love is worth the risk when all the odds are against them. This book is fast paced and the story flows smoothly. It was really refreshing seeing the FMC and MMC being strong and standing on business when it came to them as individuals and in relationship. Gina is really good with her story telling which is why I continue to come back to her books.

This wonderful story drew me in from the very beginning and kept me up way past my bedtime. I just couldn’t put this book down. In my opinion, it’s the best book Gina Cooper has written. If you like drama, businesses where the child/children work there in a major position, attraction, tension, secrets, and more drama, this is the book you need to read!
Elsie is on a business trip in Singapore for her dad’s company, Coleman Technologies. She’s the Vice President of Innovation. Unfortunately, there’s a full-scale deluge, water sheeting down through the light fixture, splashing off the marble vanity, pooling in a wide, gleaming sheet across the tile floor.” Elsie hasn’t unpacked her bag, which is a blessing in disguise that keeps her clothing dry. Unfortunately, it’s not just in Elsie room that has the leak, the lobby is filled with guests and their luggage looking for another room. The shocking news continues when the manager informs her that there aren’t any available rooms. They’re booked solid with several conferences this week. The only option is one of their sister hotels that is in Malaysia…two hours away. As if she hasn’t had enough stress, she spots Luke Hartwell, who she hasn’t seen in several years. Her dad worked with Luke’s father until he was accused of stealing information and starting his own company.
Luke walks over to see if there is a problem. When the concierge informs him of the major leak and the only available is in Malaysia, he knows that is not acceptable. There’s no way that Elsie can travel back and forth that distance for this conference. He offers to share his suite with her. She’ll have a private room and bathroom all to herself. Now, there’s a history between these two families. Elsie knows she can’t accept Luke’s offer, Luke’s “father built an empire of the back of a theft from my family.” Damage was done and even threats were made. Luke offers her the room “because your keynote matters. What you’re building with that ethics framework-the industry needs it. It would be a waste if you missed it because of a pipe.” She finally accepts his offer, knowing it’s the only way she’ll be able to present at the conference. They agree to leave and arrive at separate times so that no one knows they’re staying together. If word got back to either of their dads, it would not be good for either one of them. The grudge their fathers carry is deep rooted and neither one of them trusts the other one. Each father referred to the other as the enemy to their children. An enemy that couldn’t be trusted. Luke has seen what his father does to people who aren’t loyal. His father cut off a cousin for dating an employee who worked for Coleman Technologies. What a curmudgeon!
Elsie’s best friend, Julia has texted several times while she was at a session. She wants to know how everything is going. Julia is getting married soon to Mark, who just happens to be Luke’s best friend. They want Elsie to be her maid of honor and Mark wants Luke to be his best man. That will bring them together even more. Wedding plans, parties, etc. How will this go?
Now, I do not want to reveal too much about this wonderful story that you must read. How will the wedding plans go and the wedding? What might happen when the parents hear about this wedding, they’ll both be in? Where do the wives of these two dads fit in this dilemma? Oh, those two ladies are hiding a huge secret. Trust me when I say get your copy of Falling for My Family’s Enemy by Gina Cooper today! You won’t be sorry. Do not start this book when you go to bed, trust me…or lose sleep…your choice!

I love a book with Romeo and Juliet vibes, without the ending. Two people finding big love with a person they least expected is always fun to read about. Gina Cooper provides drama, tension, angst, and yearning in her latest release, Falling For My Family’s Enemy. Unlike Romeo and Juliet, the divide between this family happened after they were friends. Our MCs know each other, but haven’t had contact in a while due to their father’s rivalry. This tension creates wonderful moments that had me swooning and rooting for true love to triumph.
Elsie and Luke both hold high, important roles in their family businesses. Once they saw each other often as their dads worked together, but a disagreement and accusation caused them to separate and each now runs their own company. Due to them being in the same industry they find themselves in Singapore, staying at the same hotel, for a business conference. When a burst pipe turns into Elsie’s room flooding and nowhere to stay close by, Luke offers the second bedroom and bath in his suite. This stays between them though, not one word to anyone.
What’s more is their best friends are marrying each other and want both Elise and Luke in the wedding party, so the close proximity continues. What starts to unfold is these two realizing the feud is between their fathers not them. There is an attraction there and they get along really well. Will loyalties stay strong or will love win out? These two are drawn to each other and their connection grows organically. They challenge each other, in the best way, while at the same time compliment one another too.
I couldn’t put this book down and had to keep reading to find out what would happen next with our MCs. I loved how Gina wrote them. Starting out determined to avoid each other, yet slowly building a friendship that cultivated into more over time. There is depth and complexity as well due to the family rivalry, making the storyline captivating and intriguing. My hopeless romantic heart skipped a beat multiple times as our two MCs came to realize what is most important to them.
As always, review any author notes before reading.

Twenty-five years ago, Patrick Coleman and Thomas Hartwell had a falling out, each saying the other wronged him. Coleman maintains that Hartwell stole from him, while Hartwell claims the opposite. And who pays the price? Their families.
Make no mistake, this is a big book, coming in at just over five hundred pages. Though some might find that daunting for a romance novel, I promise you, it’s worth your time.
Luke Hartwell and Elsie Coleman know of each other, but due to their fathers’ war, they don’t interact. But a tech conference in Singapore, a broken pipe that flooded fourteen rooms (including Elsie’s), and an offer from Luke to share his two-room suite, puts these two on a path neither of them expected.
It’s telling that they have to sneak around, making sure they’re never seen together in the elevators of their hotel or even casually talking. At first, they’re just friends, kids who almost knew each other when they were very young, until lines they didn’t ask for were drawn in the sand. Now, though? The heart wants what it wants.
Luke and Elsie truly enjoy being around each other, and start off as friends. During the days of the conference, it’s all business, but at night, they slip out into the city and just…act like humans. Their friendship is the basis for everything that they’re going to need for the battle ahead.
This story is beautiful, frustrating, and engaging, and I read the book in one sitting. It has a bit of a Montague vs. Capulet feel, especially with the warring fathers. But there is no tragic ending here, thank goodness.
I was immediately invested in this book after the first three chapters. The author is very skilled in the writing of her characters. They feel real. They’re not perfect. But you will absolutely be rooting for Luke and Elsie the whole way.
This is my first time reading this author’s work, and it won’t be the last. Get the book.

I love all things Gina Cooper, and this does not disappoint ( could not put this down); this is part of the Forbidden Heir's series. Luke and Elsie first met when they were six and four building a sandcastle; being torn apart at that age. The Hartwell and the Coleman family's have had a rivalry going on forever. Luke Hartwell is heir to Hartwell Industries. He is currently in Singapore for a major conference. He sees Elsie Coleman (his supposed rival), having trouble with the concierge; her hotel room is flooded and their are no other rooms available. Luke has a suite, and offers Elsie his second bedroom and bath that she accepts; but still aren't friends. The following morning she is going over her keynote presentation, as she is the VP of Innovations at Coleman Technologies. Luke helps her with it slightly. They discover the city together, and Luke admits he wanted to meet and talk with her. It had been if a Hartwell was at event, the Coleman's were not. Luke remembers their time in the sandbox when they were small. How can they have a relationship when they return home, it will cost them everything; and it does!!! Can their mother's fight for them? Love the plot, great setting, and strong intense interesting characters. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Gina Cooper!!!

Is a sweet enemies to more, family feud, secret relationship romance with no cliffhanger.
Some of the lines I really like --- "Yoga, I spent the entire class falling over during balance poses. The instructor kept saying find your foundation, and all I could think was my foundation is chaos.” ---- "Marriage is a partnership built on trust, respect, and the courage to face life’s challenges together. It requires choosing each other, every day, even when that choice is difficult. Courage to face challenges. Choosing each other when it’s difficult." --- "real strength isn’t about power or control. It’s about choosing love even when it’s hard. Even when it costs you everything.” --- “Love is brave. It requires standing up and saying: this person, this relationship, this is what I choose." ---
What's Adrian Voss up to? What's Julia (Jules) up to? What's Mark up to? What's Robert up to? What will happen when their fathers find out? What are the mothers hiding and what do they know? These and other questions will all be answered.
I loved Elsie and Luke's story and I'm sure you will too. I've loved everyone of her books that I've read and I can't wait to read her next book.

This is the second book by Gina Cooper that I have read. I really enjoy her writing. The stories are fun and the characters are relatable. In this book, Luke and Elsie's family are bitter rivals. Their fathers worked together years ago and that relationship was split because of betrayal. Their fathers own their own companies that compete with each other and both have high expectations for their families. They are not allowed to even speak to each other. When there is a mishap at the hotel that both Elsie and Luke are staying at for a conference, Luke suggests a secret deal. As they spend time together that week, they begin to develop feelings for each other. If their fathers find out, Luke and Elsie will lose everything; their jobs, their families, and everything they have built in their lives. Is their love strong enough to survive when their secret comes out? I really enjoyed watching their relationship develop and the courage and strength they had to choose what they wanted.

Oh dear the cat among the pigeons indeed. A secret dating story that leads to trouble at the double. Luke is the son of her father’s enemy but she ends up sleeping in his room….Theres nothing going on ,it’s just that she needed to bail her own room because it flooded her out literally and so she was offered the only alternative. He even helps her with her keynote . Then they take a tour of Singapore together seeing things of note.
They like each other’s company but his dad did to her dad Yada Yada.its no better when they go home . In fact it’s worse and things are more than terse. Just when she’s hating on the universe and how she can’t expect this man to dive in her camp. Along comes another scamp to force a truce . Wow now it’s got interesting and they’re figuratively and literally in bed together. All of them weathering the storm ,which isn’t the norm but she’s all in and so is he. Luke and his Elsie

4.5 ⭐️ I knew I was going to love this one from the moment I read the blurb about it!
Luke and Elsie have been forced into a feud between their families since they were very young. As adults they are the heirs to both of their respective family companies and there are unwritten expectations to avoid the other. But a leaky hotel room and an unexpected offer cause them to start seeing each other in a new light.
“It was self-preservation, because some part of me always knew that if I stopped being careful, I’d be completely lost… I stopped being careful in Singapore, and I have been completely lost ever since, in the best possible way.”
Some highlights:
- the moms
- helping with her presentation
- the coffee
- protecting her.

Falling for my Family's Enemy by Gina Cooper is a modern day Romeo and Juliet without the death.
I seriously got hooked into this book, the author grabbed me from the beginning and wouldn't let go, she wrote about the current events of today, with AI Ethics and she wrote about patents, espionage, and business deals. Fun stuff and not boring! She gave just enough information to be satisfied but didn't delve into the nitty gritty of it.
The pacing was fast, and the sentences were as well. The two main characters were both two unlikely people on two opposite sides of a family feud they had no part of. It was cute reading about the dedication of the main characters to each other and the courage it took to stand up against their own family.
If you want a Romeo and Juliet style esque book, I recommend this one!
Thank you Gina Cooper for the free book.

Instantly, I was captivated by this unique enemies-to-lovers family rivalry. Luke and Elsie have been raised to hate each other, yet they find themselves drawn in. Their dynamic is unique and interesting: Luke is very calculated and reserved, while Elsie is more outgoing but direct. They have this fun, playful banter that shines through, emphasizing their chemistry. I loved that Luke has secretly been following all her accomplishments and silently supporting her all along—adding a beautiful, heart-aching layer to their story. I absolutely adored everything about this book and was rooting for them the whole time, totally swoon-worthy!

He sees Elsie have trouble with the concierge because her hotel room is flooded and there are no other rooms available. Luke has a sweet and offers her his second bedroom and bath. She is the VP of Innovations at Coleman Technologies and is giving a keynote at the conference. Luke helps her perfect it. You can guess what happens. The characters are well developed and fun together. They have banter, humor, and chemistry. It’s like they don’t even know why they don’t like each other. The storyline is thoughtful and fun. You get all the feels on the way to their HEA.

This book was a great read. I was invested in the story from the start and didn’t want to put it down. I had to know what was going to happen. It’s full of intrigue and romance. We’ve got Romeo and Juliet, but they don’t die in the end. Not only was the story captivating and the characters relatable, but the storyline felt very appropriate for the things we face today. Luke and Elsie were so cute together and I just wanted them to have what they truly wanted. Their connection was so sweet and genuine. Their families are rivals but these two have a connection that just doesn’t quit. Both of them work so hard for their families but also are equally devoted to their relationship. It was so sweet to read and the ending of the book had me feeling satisfied and smiling at the book.

Two brilliant people, each from a family business that were not only top in the world, but in competition with each other. A major conference in Singapore, a burst pipe in her room, and an empty room in his suite. An offer. A temporary truce. Changes that will eventually affect so many.
Characters that are not afraid to ignore the past or stand firm in their convictions. Friends who support them more than family. A deeply complex story that tells a story of true love and choosing each other regardless of past family difficulties. Captivating book with a love story that will make you swoon.

Falling for My Family’s Enemy is a high‑drama, slow‑burn forbidden romance that will satisfy readers who enjoy emotional intensity, family intrigue, and star‑crossed lovers fighting for their future. Its familiar tropes and occasional pacing issues keep it from feeling groundbreaking, but its heartfelt core and strong character chemistry make it an engaging read for fans of contemporary romance with a dramatic edge.

When everything was against Elsie and Luke, love had different plans. I loved seeing these two come together despite the odds and stand strong. After so many years of being who everyone else wanted them to be they were able to be their true selves with each other. There were some crazy family dynamics in play but I loved watching them face everything head on.

What a captivating and well written romance. Our main characters are Luke and Elsie who have been raised by their families to hate one another. I love how Like and Elsie decided to make their one opinions about the other without their fathers' opinions also. Also, the tentative steps to a friend relationship and the full-on falling in love with each other.🤩 How they both are willing to walk away from their lives in order to have each other. Loved the ending♡

Elsie and Luke’s story was fast paced and heartwarming. I could not put the book down. Their determination to be together even when it cost them everything was remarkable. Their relationship was rocky due to their parents feud but in the end those chose each other. I also loved the mothers in this book! Highly recommend.

Very Good
I loved this story...it was a great read, very detailed and it seemed to be longer than any I've read lately, I enjoyed that!!! It was full of angst and I was rooting for this relationship from the beginning at the sandbox they played in!! Heartwarming!!

Wow! What a book! Kept me hooked the entire time. Loved Chapter 37...what a twist! Chapter 40 was great too. Thank you for the HEA. It was nice to see how everyone in their circle was doing 18 months later. Look forward to reading more books from this author.
