In Jennifer’s opinion there are few ills that can’t be solved with a warm brownie and scoop of vanilla-bean ice cream. Jennifer grew up in rural Alabama and loved living in a town where “everybody knows everybody.” Her love for writing began as a young teenager when she wrote stories for her high school English teacher to critique. Jennifer has a BA in English and Social Sciences from Brigham Young University Hawaii where she served as Miss BYU Hawaii. Before becoming an author, she worked as the owner and editor of a monthly newspaper named The Senior Times. She now lives in the Rocky Mountains with her family and spends her time writing and doing all of the wonderful things that make up the life of a busy wife and mother.

~The Desperate Warrior by Jennifer Youngblood~ 5* ~ Fast-paced read that will have you turning the pages as quickly as possible! I didn't want to set it down or for it to end. We met Brock and Jules in the previous book in this series. I was hoping that after reading that book, we'd get to see Jules and Brock in their own story. And I was very happy when the author wrote their story!
It opens with an emotional couple of moments and your heart feels for Jules and the sorrow she's experiencing! And it just keeps coming. Then jump ahead a few months and Jules finds herself in need of protection. With her dad playing matchmaker, guess who ends up being her neighbor across the street? Brock! Woot woot! Jules might not feel that way at first because of their history. But I loved watching them interacting and figuring out everything. Brock is smitten. And Jules is too, even though she might not want to admit as much. She's protecting her heart. Hang in there Jules!
I was making several guesses about who the bad guy could be. I had an inkling towards who it was near the beginning but then there were enough red herrings thrown out there that I was second guessing myself and jumping at bread crumbs. Hahaha! When the big reveal happened, I was like, "I knew it!" Well played Jennifer Youngblood! Well played!!!
Get ready for a wild ride and a sweet love story! Full of family and friendships, you're going to love it!
Content: Clean. Some kisses but nothing further. Moments of suspense and peril but nothing graphic.
I received a copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.
Safe in Your Arms is a fantastic collection of truly suspenseful romances by some of my all time favorite authors. They will keep you on the edge of your seat and reading far too late at night. The balance of suspense and romance is awesome. I own a stand alone copy of eight of these nine books. Here are a few highlights.
In Wrecked By You I loved watching Damon and Isla regain their friendship and watching it grow to more. Damon’s entire family unites to keep Isla safe from her unstable ex-husband. I especially like what Damon’s dad did to keep her safe.
Taja's Cowboy Caress ha a great romance; a darling, animal fact spouting daughter; some really nasty bad dudes for the suspense; unofficial witness protection and more. The Copelands are amazing and Taja is a very, strong character.
In The Desperate Warrior, I loved all the twists and wondering when Jules would ever trust Brock again. With a matchmaking dad, threats from a distraught husband of a patient who died, and a failed relationship with her now bodyguard, Jules has more than enough drama in her life.
I received an ARC for this book. I have only read one of the nine books. I plan to read all 8 books in this edition.
I have read several of Jennifer Youngblood's novels in the past and loved them. I enjoy her witty banter and believable characters. I like that the people seem real. This story had several twists and kept me engaged to the end. I read for pleasure and this was pleasurable reading. Thanks again.
A collection of books by nine different authors, all are suspenseful, wonderful and drew me in.
Color of Danger by Alexa Verde is a story that shows growth and trust among suspense, danger and love. Mari is in danger, but the swoon worthy hero Luke is by her side and is kind and supportive, a story that will draw you in.
Forgotten Secrets by Christy Barritt drew me in from the start with so many twists and turns I wasn’t expecting for Jesse and Sienna. He was angry at her to start off but as they worked together, it was sweet to see the relationship form.
Running to You by Robin Patchen is a beautiful second chance story, there twists and turns that kept me intrigued. The faith woven in, the forgiveness and understanding of the characters along with the sweet story make this a great read!
Wrecked By You by Taylor Hart is a story I couldn’t put down, I loved Damon and Isla’s spiritual growth as a couple. This story has a little of everything that makes it so great, some suspense, sweet romance, loving family, just sweet and swoony. A book you don’t want to miss!
The Sparks of a Kiss by Sarah Gay is a wonderful, sweet romance with some danger and suspense. Dax and Julia had sparks and chemistry from the first meeting. I loved how their relationship developed and the ending is a chef’s kiss.
Cold Dead Night by Lisa Phillips is a story that drew me in from the beginning, the suspense is so intense, there are so many twists and turns that are unexpected, a fantastic read that is emotional and dramatic.
Taja’s Cowboy Caress by Kimberly Krey I love the characters in this book, the strong family ties and the love among neighbors. The suspense in this story had me wanting to hide my eyes but then I couldn’t read, haha. This is such a fantastic story, and I highly recommend reading it.
Loving the Firefighter by Cami Checketts is a story with suspense that drew me in. The characters Grady the firefighter and Rachel the new doctor, have such hot chemistry making this a fun, quick read that kept my attention to the end.
The Desperate Warrior by Jennifer Youngblood This story had me captivated from the beginning! Brock is a bodyguard for Sutton Smith Security and Jules is an OR nurse. I loved their second chance to find love. This book has so many twists and turns that I didn’t see coming, it made me not want to put the book down. Great read that I recommend.
What a great deal! This is a wonderful box set of clean romantic suspense stories.
‘The Desperate Warrior’ by Jennifer Youngblood is one that I read before and loved. I didn't want to put it down. Surgical nurse Jules feels that bodyguard Brock is pulling away from her and is afraid that he might be getting back with his ex-wife because of his young son. When her life is in danger, Brock is there to keep her safe. It has a good twist and a second chance romance.
I hadn't read any of the other books, but I quickly read two more and started a third.
Loving the Fireman by Cami Checketts - The new pediatrician Rachel isn't sure who to trust. Fireman Grady says that attorney Grady is dangerous. Attorney Jonathan says that Grady is the dangerous one. Before long Rachel is in danger. I quickly devoured this one.
The Spark of a Kiss by Sarah Gray,- Julie needs a temporary boyfriend to keep her mother from matchmaking her. Fireman Mr. February Dax had a three date rule, but Julie has an intriguing way around it. Julie also has a strong independent streak, but she also has a stalker. Dax wants to keep her safe. This is another good suspenseful romance.
I just read the prologue of ‘Color of Danger's by Alexa Verde and I am already hooked. I received a free copy of this ebook box set from one of the authors. This is my honest and voluntary given review. I look forward to reading the test of this collection.
The Desperate Warrior by Jennifer Youngblood Is a sweet clean second chance, Christian romantic suspense with no cliffhanger. Some of the lines I really like --- It’s okay to put yourself out there, honey. That’s the only way you’re gonna grow. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.” --- “Still on this side of the dirt.” --- "Now boys, quit throwing pizza grenades. It’s liable to get messy.” --- “Don’t get in the mud with her. It’s not worth it.” --- "I deserve a man who won’t run at the first sign of trouble. Someone who stands beside me, not someone I have to chase.” --- Are Dean's threats real? Was Alyssa killed in a car accident or was it murder? What can't Jules remember from the car accident? Was it an accident or attempted murder? What's Adrian up to? Who's watching Jules in a green truck? These and other questions will all be answered. I loved Jules and Brock's story and I'm sure you will too. I've loved everyone of her books that I've read and listened to. I can't wait to read her next book.
Safe in Your Arms: Nine Christian Romantic Suspense Novels is a thrilling collection that will keep readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. Each story is filled with suspense, unexpected twists, and heart-pounding moments that make it nearly impossible to stop reading. With multiple authors contributing, the collection offers a variety of voices and storylines, yet each one delivers the same gripping blend of faith, romance, and danger. Just when you think you can put the book down, another twist pulls you right back in for “just one more chapter.” Be warned—this is not a book to pick up when you only have a few minutes to spare. You’ll want to set aside plenty of time, because once you start, you won’t want to stop. Perfect for fans of Christian romantic suspense, this collection is both exciting and deeply satisfying.
So far I have read LOVING THE FIREFIGHTER by Cami Checketts. Here are are my thoughts:
"Always a great day to be a Flyer." This series about famous friends got off to a terrific start. The setting on the Oregon coast is spectacular. Grady, the humble hero who has no desire to be famous, is a terrific character to start the series off with. I was drawn into the suspense in this small town from the start. Rachel is spunky and fun, keeping the guys on their toes. I enjoyed watching her learn to trust and the strong role she fills in the small community. Looking forward to more!
I am also looking forward tot he other books in this collection, particularly THE DESPERATE WARRIOR by Jennifer Youngblood. So many great authors in this collection!

This is an excellent collection of stories written by my favorite authors. Each story has what I enjoy in a book: romance, love, and mystery. I have written a review for each book on that book's page. Since some are rather long I have chosen not to repost them here. You can go to each book and read my review of it there. I think you can't go wrong reading this set and then the many other books written by these authors. Ms. Youngblood gave me a copy of this anthology without expectation of a positive review.
