To some the name “secret society” conjures up an image of a shadowy and elite cabal meeting behind smoke-filled rooms, discussing tactics of world domination and manipulation straight out of the most far-fetched espionage thriller. To others, the image of secluded men (and occasionally women!) banding together in exotic garb to perform colorful ceremonies and impart hidden knowledge and fancy but incomprehensible titles upon one another springs to mind. But just how far-fetched and fanciful is the prospect of a secret society? Could it be that there walks among us, in any given echelon of the population, groups given to exercise inordinate amounts of power and influence over the rest of us? Could these exotic members-only clubs really pose such an immediate threat to our well-being that our very way of life is endangered? Well, quite frankly the disturbing answer to those particular questions are yes and yes. Right in our midst there absolutely exists clandestine organizations consisting of both men and women who wield a dangerous amount of influence and power over the entire world populace. In his book entitled “The World’s Most Dangerous Secret Societies” author James Jackson explores these dangerous secret organizations and its members; their beliefs, hidden agenda and their ultimate goal of a New World Order and world domination. Here are a few of some of the dangerous secret societies that will be thoroughly examined. • The Freemasons • The Illuminati • Skull And Bones • The Bilderberg Group • Council on Foreign Relations • The Trilateral Commission • The Society of Jesuits • The Committee of 300 • The Knights Templar And Much Much More…..
James Jackson has a postgraduate degree in Military Studies and is a consultant in military risk. He is the author of The Counter-Terrorist Handbook and lives in London.
Very informative and slightly creepy. The author does an excellent job of putting the facts out there and sticking to information that has been verified. He does not get caught up in some of the more ridiculous allegations.
100/10 WOULD NOT recommend. If I could give a 0/5 - I would. This book was boring af! It had so much potential but then during chapter 3 onwards - it started to sound like a gossip blog. Actually it's as if the author was bitter 'cause he wasn't invited in any of those "secret societies". It really sounded like that, it's so annoying. I mean.. wth? This book is less than 200 pages but it took me A WHOLE DAY to finish this. I lost my brain cells after reading this. I'm so disappointed!! It had potential. UGHHH
The information contained in this book is no better or worse than the many other similar text on the market. I found the narrator voice to be pleasant, and his pronunciation is well executed. However there is one unforgivable technical issue. The sibilance in the narration is overly distracting and disappointing. Better microphone technique would have made this a pleasant listening experience.
Interesting connection made between the heretic, Hassan Sabbah, his Hashishin (Assassins) and the Knights Templar, during the 11th & 12th centuries. The organizational structure and methods of Sabbah’s cult also seems to have served as inspiration for Adam Weishaupt and the formation of the Bavarian Illuminati in 1776.
Pleasantly surprised! I’ve watched so many documentaries and read a fair bit about this subject, that I didn’t expect anything new to appear, on the contrary! I have learned much!
A book posed as fact but has a seating in reality next to that of a Dan Brown novel.
This book was an interesting read. However, I have several issues with it. First, it is full of loosely tied hearsay with absolutely no scholarly backing in terms of citations. ZERO legitimate sources for the books outrageous claims are provided. The writer also tends to incoherently jump from one conspiracy to another and in doing so contradicts himself over and over. Basically, a collection of unfounded conspiracy theories that I can almost guarantee are all sourced from the internet and posed as a scholarly work.
«Other mysterious deaths the Illuminati may be responsible include the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria (wich precipitated the star of World War I), the assassination of Mohandas Gandhi, the deaths of Jimmy Hoffa, Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield, the unexplained "cancer" of Bob Marley and even the recent death of erstwhile "King of Pop" Michael Jackson.»
É preciso mais para ver de que tipo de obra se trata? Aproveita-se o capítulo I, sobre os Assassinos do Velho da Montanha, onde aprendi a velha noção de «fedayin» - os que aceitam a morte».

Four stars for entertainment value. I enjoyed it from start to finish. I would characterize this as "edutainment." I listened to the audio version; I wonder if the print version had footnotes, endnotes, or other substantiating citations to back up the author's assertions. . . . If not, it's not clear he went any deeper than Wikipedia (and maybe not even that deep for some chapters).
An unbelievable book unraveling some of the most dangerous secret societies of the world. Beyond the visible surface of the calm waters lurks dangerous currents and demonic forces manipulating the whole system. We need to be afraid! Very afraid!!
