Raphael Angel had been held captive and abused for years until he is rescued and brought to the pack of his brothers. There he meets his enforcer mate Christian, but Christian cannot claim Raffy. The horrors in Raffy’s past make him unable to be touched by anyone, so how can Christian claim him? The two spend time together and want nothing more than to be together, but what holds Raffy back is his anxiety over how his mate will react to his desire to wear women’s clothing.
Raffy and his brothers Gabriel and Castiel go missing and Alpha mate Jesse falls under a spell that traps him in his own mind in a loop of hell.
The pack turns to the demon warrior, Phenex, for help as the mates stand together to save Jesse and their mates as the paranormal council is destroyed. A confrontation between the evil Nigel Brighton unfolds, and the man known as the heart is finally revealed.
This book is part of a series and should be read in order.
Raphael Angel, aka Raffy has had a really bad last five years. But it really started the day he first shifted and his father discovered he was an omega. During that time he was beaten by both his father and brother, as well as others in the pack. When his father finally saw him dressed in a shirt, that is when his father gave him over to the one known as the Master. During his captivity he was beaten and raped. Finally saved and reunited with his older brothers who never knew of him before. He also meets his mate, the enforcer Christian. However due to his years as a prisoner, he has trouble even being touched by his family, let alone a mate.
Christian is perfect for Raffy. He knows the horrors Raffy has suffered and the last thing he wants to do is cause Raffy anymore pain. So Christian takes things very slow with Raffy, and a lot of cold showers. He has no problem simply seating with Raffy for hours and talking, or just sitting with him as he reads a book. Christian does whatever wants and never rushes him. When the two finally come together it is both sweet and damn sexy hot.
Raffy, once he was safe slowly comes out of his shell and really starts to open and be free. With help from the other mates he starts to dress the way he wants. Christian helps him accept his need to wear female clothing, in fact Christian finds it sexy. But he also starts to gain his powers back. A new character also helps Raffy and the rest of the pack know what it is to be a true omega. Turns out Raffy is pretty badass in his own right.
But this book is not only about Christian and Raffy. There is a lot more revealed about the overall story arc that have covered both this series and the other interconnecting series, Beyond the Angle Pack. Some secrets are finally told. The heart from the prophecies is finally confirmed. If you have been paying attention like I have then you probably already knew who it was. Also someone who should have been protecting the paranormal world turns out to be the bigger threat. A hell of a lot happens in this book and a good bit of it leaves me wondering where the series will go next. Some things were settled, but a big ass can of issues just opened up. Questions were answered as well as new questions were raised.
Overall, this was well written and fast paced. I needed to pay attention because tons of new information is given and revealed. New people were introduced and I hope to learn more about them in future books. So in the end I am happy and satisfied with how things ended. But I cannot wait for the next release to read more about this great world Maggie Walsh have created.
Re-read: June 2019 Another installment of the Angel Pack series that I loved reading just as much the second time.. Loved both Raffy and Christian. I was a little surprised with how Crew and some of the other enforcers talked about the mates. All in all, I enjoyed the book and plan to continue re-reading the series.
Rating: 4 stars I absolutely love this series and this book is no different. Sure there are somethings left unresolved, but that is the case in other series that I read. To me it is understandable since there is so much going on. I'm just glad that we get bits and pieces from all the other characters. In some series once the book is written about a couple, you rarely visit them again. I am glad that this is not the case with this series. All in All it is a wonderful book.
I love this series it was everything I have complained with other series it gives u the back story and the info u need to understand everything and it has hot sex fighting magic pain everything I will gladly read anything maggie walsh writes
