there’s simply nothing i love more than a pretty cover paired with a good story. maeve and elliot’s banter was so engaging and i was constantly swooning over all the sweet things elliot did for her 🥹 their relationship was paced well, though i personally would’ve enjoyed more domestic scenes instead of smut.
i absolutely loved the fashion plotline and thought it was such a unique addition! it tied in nicely with the romance and maeve’s design being brought to life was the perfect culmination of everything 🎀

Ich liebe das Buch abgöttisch. ﾟ☆
Es hat meine Erwartungen übertroffen und ist somit ein kleines Highlight geworden. Beim Lesen hatte ich Schmetterlinge im Bauch und somit konnte ich mich einfach nur in die Geschichte von Maeve und Elliot verlieben. ♡
Den Schreibstil von Selina finde ich besonders angenehm und sehr flüssig. Die Welt des Modeimperiums und der Handlungsort in New York haben mir so gut gefallen.
Die Liebesgeschichte zwischen Maeve und Elliot ist gefühlvoll, fesselnd und unbeschreiblich schön. Ich konnte sofort in die Handlung eintauchen und war direkt von der Chemie der beiden gefesselt.
Die Mischung aus Rivals to Lovers, Haters to Lovers, Roommates, Slow Burn, hitzigen Wortgefechten, langsamer Annäherung, Banter, gegenseitigem Herausfordern, kleinen Gesten, Tiefe, Tension und ganz viel Gefühl war für mich einfach perfekt. Ich musste so oft kichern und schmunzeln. Das Ganze hat genau den richtigen Rhythmus und alles hat sich unglaublich authentisch angefühlt.
Elliot habe ich wirklich geliebt! Nach außen ist er zunächst der mysteriöse bad boy mit einem schlechtem Ruf, aber je besser man ihn kennenlernt, desto mehr merkt man, was für ein Mann eigentlich hinter dieser Fassade steckt. Er ist gentlemanlike, unglaublich beschützerisch, flirty, funny und gleichzeitig unglaublich klar in seinen Worten. Vor allem die vielen kleinen Dinge, die er für Maeve tut, haben mein Herz jedes Mal ein bisschen schneller schlagen lassen. Ich hätte unglaublich gerne mehr aus seiner pov gelesen, weil das der Geschichte meiner Meinung nach noch einmal eine ganz andere Tiefe gegeben hätte.
Aber auch Maeve mochte ich unheimlich gerne. Sie ist perfektionistisch, unabhängig und weiß ganz genau, welche Ziele und Vorstellungen sie für ihr Leben hat. Gerade deshalb fand ich es so schön, ihre Entwicklung mitzuerleben und zu sehen, wie sie langsam eine andere Seiten von sich zulässt.
Der Fashion Plot hat mir richtig gut gefallen. Die Welt des Modeimperiums, New York, die pompöse und luxuriöse Gala und natürlich der Kampf um den Job haben mich total gefesselt. Auch das präsente Thema Nachhaltigkeit in der Modewelt mochte ich sehr gerne und ich fand es toll, dass es nicht einfach nur nebenbei erwähnt wurde.
Ich hatte beim lesen so viel Spaß und kann die Geschichte wirklich nur empfehlen.

Maybe not my favorite, but I think I liked it overall. I liked the writing style, I enjoyed the premise of the story, and the romance was good too, although I definitely expected a little more from it.
I was a little disappointed that we only got Maeve’s POV. I feel like having Elliot’s POV as well would have made everything so much better! Maeve was a very stubborn character and sometimes I just had enough of her, especially towards the end.😒 I didn’t always understand her thought process and some of her decisions really frustrated me…
Elliot was a good MMC. He was funny and charismatic, but I wouldn’t say he was amazing either. Especially his close relationship with his ex-girlfriend…
I think I expected the romance to be a little better, but overall I read this pretty quickly and I enjoyed the story. It was good, just not something I completely fell in love with.

Ihr gemeinsames Praktikum beim Luxus Modelabel »Adeline Ashwood« steht damit unter keinem guten Stern…
Ihre Rivalitäten kennen keine Grenzen. Ganz besonders als sie erfahren, dass nur einer von ihnen die begehrte Festanstellung erhalten werden. Sowohl für Maeve, als auch für Elliot würde ein Versagen ergebliche Konsequenzen nach sich ziehen.
Die beiden kämpfen wirklich mit allen Mitteln. Deshalb sind sowohl die Dialoge, als auch die Handlung unfassbar witzig und gleichzeitig herzerwärmend. Denn natürlich können sie einander nicht lange widerstehen. Absolute feet-kicking-moments!
New York ist einfach wieder das perfekte Setting. Ich werde nicht müde das zu betonen.
Außerdem kam eines meiner Lieblingstropes dazu. Elliots Familie ist wahnsinnig reich. Und was macht man als Enkel eines der größten Luxusimperien? Richtig, man geht auf diverse Veranstaltungen, Charity Events und Gala Abende. »Ashwood Anthology« ist voller Glamour und ich liebe alles daran!
So eine pinke Luxusbubble möchte man am liebsten gar nicht verlassen. Zum Glück erscheint Band zwei der »Ashwood Anthology - Sworn to Secrecy« bereits am 01.12.
Ich freue mich schon jetzt, wieder nach New York zurückzukehren!

Ich LIEBE High Society. Ich hab‘s jetzt echt gespürt.
Mir hat zwar etwas für ein 5-Sterne-Feeling gefehlt, allerdings kam dieses Buch nah dran.
Grundsätzlich bekommen wir eine POV - die von Maeve (was ein nicer Name). Die Kapitellänge geht echt klar und man FLIEGT nur so durch.
Das Setting von einem New Yorker Modelabel konnte ich mir so richtig gut vorstellen. Im Hinterkopf immer irgendwie so das Gebäude von Teufel trägt Prada lol. 👠
Ansonsten zu den Charakteren und der Storyline:
Das war alles echt rund. Klar, am Ende muss natürlich bei jeder romance-Geschichte irgendwas passieren, dass sie sich voneinander entfernen und wieder zueinanderfinden, was bissel nervig ist, aber trotzdem rundum gut gelungen.
Ich mochte beide sehr. Authentisch dargestellt und auch als Milliardär null abgehoben. Klasse 🙃
Für mich eine Empfehlung wert. 🥰

DNF bei 80%, weil ich mich nicht weiter an dieses Buch dransetzen kann. Nicht einmal übers Audiobuch, oder “einfach überfliegen”. Meine Laune ist ruiniert, jedes Mal wenn ich mich dransetze. Gleichzeitig habe ich es zur 80% Marke geschafft - das lasse ich mir nicht aus meiner Goodreads Challenge nehmen.
Zum Buch selbst:
ich mochte die Idee in die Fashion-Welt eintauchen zu können, so wie bei der Teufel trägt Prada, aber good riddance, das war nicht der Fall. Man stelle sich vor, man habe keine Ahnung von der Fashion-Welt, wie diese Industrie funktioniert und wie ein Designerhaus arbeitet und setze sich dann trotzdem ans schreiben.
Ist aber sowieso nicht wichtig, weil halfway through the book wird das ganze eh nicht mehr wirklich thematisiert, da es um die nicht stattfindende Romance geht.
Die Protagonisten sind unausstehlich. Sie ist einfach naiv und sträubt sich gegen jede mögliche Charakterentwicklung; er ist einfach die Doppelmoral schlechthin UND eine Fußmatte.
Die Entscheidung der Autorin einen weiblichen Charakter reinzuschreiben, die nur dazu da ist, Misogynie zu verbreiten, macht mich auch einfach nur wütend. Elliot tut so als würde er nicht mitbekommen, dass seine Ex noch Gefühle für ihn hat, gibt ihr deshalb noch princess treatment, stellt Maeve als Verrückte da, weil „omg es ist meine Ex! Niemals!“ und die Leserschaft soll so tun, als würde man nichts mitbekommen. Schlecht. Schlecht, schlecht, schlecht.
Maeve auch mit ihrer Mitleidsnummer à la meine Beste Freundin kennt mein neues Ich gar nicht - ja Kollege, wenn du dich vielleicht bei ihr melden würdest, wie sie es tut, dann würde sie dich auch kennen? Wobei, mach dir keine Sorgen, deine Stumpfsinnigkeit hält dich sowieso von echten Charakterentwicklungen ab und deine neuen schlechten Eigenschaften solltest du sowieso nicht vor anderen Leuten präsentieren.
Um ehrlich zu sein habe ich keine Kraft mehr, weiter in dieses Buch oder die Rezension zu investieren. Just know, that there is more to criticize.

It was so hard to read this book. I've enjoyed Selina Mae's books before so I was a bit surprised that I didn't enjoy this one as much. Obviously, the book wasn't for me to begin with because it has tropes that I don't usually enjoy but even if it wasn't for that, I thought Maeve was very annoying and immature, made stupid decisions and all the misunderstandings were because of her. It was unfair what she did to Eliott before she even knew him. As for Eliott, not getting his POV made it so his character felt secondary and I couldn't create an attachment at all.

This book genuinely surprised me! I have a couple of Selina Mae books on my physical tbr so I was excited to receive this arc! This book read like a comforting rom-com movie. I had a great time !
In this book we follow our characters Elliot Ashwood and Maeve Peterson. Maeve becomes an intern at Adeline Ashwood, a luxury fashion house, with dreams of having an official job in the fashion industry. Elliot Ashwood is struggling with a bad reputation with the press and his punishment by his grandfather (CEO of Adeline Ashwood) is to intern at the company as well. Maeve and Elliot become rivals both trying to get the full time position at Ashwood but lines become blurred between the two as they work together and get pushed into such close proximity.
I found Maeve so relatable in the way she has everything to be planned out and needs reassurance. As a words of affirmation girlie, Elliot is THE DREAMMM GUY. Every time she started to worry, Elliot knew just what to say. Loved the chemistry, loved the banter and loved the tension. I ate this book up.
My mom raised me to appreciate the luxury fashion houses so reading this felt close to home! If you’re into fashion, this is a must read!

nee also sorry, diese scheisse gebe ich mir nicht. alle nebencharaktere sind sympathischer als unsere ach so perfekte pick me queen & ihr pappaufsteller ich bin nicht so einer moechtegernheld 💀 vielleicht lese ich die anderen teile, aber hier muss ich mich zum lesen zwingen. ngl manche fanfiktionautoren sollten einfach bei fanfiktions bleiben & keine buecher veroeffentlichen 😭 (aber mir gefaellt das cover!)

Unfortunately, Ashwood Anthology wasn’t my favorite book by this author, but there were still quite a few things I really enjoyed about it.
What I liked:
I really loved the concept of the Ashwood Anthology and the whole fashion world surrounding the story. The idea of creating and designing clothes for such a prestigious brand was really interesting, and I enjoyed discovering that side of the book.
I also really liked Maeve as a character. She’s determined, ambitious, and willing to work hard to achieve her dreams. I especially loved the way she constantly connected everything back to her mother. That part of her story felt really touching and gave her character more depth.
Elliot was another character I enjoyed. At first, everyone seems to have already decided who he is: the rich, arrogant, macho guy. But throughout the book, we get to see a completely different side of him. I really liked discovering that softer side through the way he cared for Maeve and the love he eventually showed her.
The competition between Maeve and Elliot was also an aspect I really enjoyed. They’re both trying to prove themselves and succeed, which naturally creates a lot of tension between them. And, of course, having them eventually live together definitely brought even more opportunities for them to get closer. 😂
💕 I also have to mention Elliot’s declaration at the end. That was definitely one of my favorite moments of the book. I can’t even complain about that one!
What I struggled with:
The biggest issue for me was their relationship. It’s kind of an enemies-to-lovers, but not the type I usually enjoy. I felt like they were constantly arguing, then falling for each other, then arguing again… and a lot of their arguments seemed to revolve around the same things. After a while, it became a little frustrating and repetitive for me.
And then there was Allegra, Elliot’s ex. 😅 I understand why she was included in the story and I do think she added something to the plot, but I really struggled with her character. It sometimes felt like a love triangle, even though Elliot clearly didn’t want to go back to her. She was the kind of ex who just wouldn’t let him move on, and unfortunately, that type of character really gets on my nerves. 😂 I think this also slowed down my reading experience a little.
Overall, I found the story interesting, especially the fashion aspect, the competition, and getting to know Maeve and Elliot beyond the first impressions everyone had of them. But the repetitive arguments and the whole situation with Elliot’s ex made it harder for me to fully connect with the romance.
Not my favorite from this author, but still a book with some really enjoyable elements! 😊

Where do I begin?! Ruled by Rivalry was such a wonderfully written story with great banter and LOTS of tension, and the slow burn🥵holy smokes the slow burn was delicious! If you're in the mood for a rom-com book wtih a hate to lovers couple, immense yearning set in a world of fashion then pick this book up!
The story follows Maeve who is working as an intern at Adeline Ashwood, a luxury clothing company, following her dreams to work in the fashion industry. Elliott who is a billionaire heir with a bad reputation is forced by his grandfather, Hunter Ashwood (owner of Adeline Ashwood), to work at the company after a video incident that circulated over social media. Instantly, Maeve develops a hate for him and does everything she can to ensure she gets the fulltime position. Meanwhile, Elliott is smitten by the fiery, red headed beauty who spilled coffee all over him on their first day of work. What starts off as a rivalry for the job position grows into much more for the two of them.
Elliott's character was difficult not to love - he was kind, charismatic and genuine despite what the media tried to portray of him. He was truly wrongfully judged. He knew exactly how to read in between Maeve's behavior and loooooved how he had his security detail follow her on her runs to make sure nothing happened her. Seriously, I swooooned for this guy.🥰 A minor detail that bothered me - being friends with his ex girlfriend, like no bro that's a hard no for me.
Maeve was independent and FEISTY af, I really liked her. Although I didn't agree with some of her decisions I still rooted for her! She came into the internship ready to sabotage Elliott and I don't blame her, not only was it her dream to land the position at Adeline Ashwood but she was doing it all to pay homage to her mom.🥹
This book is truly SLOW BURN, the tension had me sweating! I couldn't get enough of their banter, I'd say that was my favorite thing about the book.
Overall I loved this book and would 100% recommend it. I can't wait to read the next book!

Ich bin tatsächlich etwas unentschlossen bei dem Buch.
Zunächst fand ich die Idee sehr gut und bin auch gut in die Geschichte hineingekommen. Dann ist mir aber aufgefallen, dass ich fast eine identische Idee erst vor einem guten halben Jahr gelesen habe, als es auch darum ging, dass die beiden Hauptprotagonisten sich bei einem Praktikum messen müssen, weil am Ende nur einer den Job bekommen kann. Dadurch war dann die Idee für mich schon etwas ausgeleiert.
Dann fand ich es leider nicht nachvollziehbar, wie sich Maeves Gefühle für Elliot verändern. Auf einmal hat sie gefühlt die ganze Zeit „Lust“ auf ihn gehabt, aber mir hat da irgendwie ein Verhalten seinerseits gefehlt, weshalb sie ihre Entscheidung ihm gegenüber ändert.
Tatsächlich fand ich es eher sehr schwierig, wie er sich ihr teilweise gegenüber verhält (wenn mir jemand, ohne mein Wissen, Securities hinterher schickt, würde ich das einerseits aufmerksam finden (ja), aber gleichzeitig einfach absolut übergriffig und letzteres Gefühl würde definitiv überwiegen).
Die Handlung war dann irgendwie sehr monoton und hat sich für mich einfach gezogen…ab der Hälfte ist dann schon wieder was passiert, aber gegen Ende gab es mal wieder Drama und darauf reagiere ich ja immer allergisch (wobei es sich hier in Grenzen hielt, aber auch hier konnte ich dann teilweise das Hin und Her der Protagonisten nicht immer so ganz nachvollziehen).
Ich glaube, dass war allgemein mein größtes Problem an dem Buch, dass Maeve und ich nicht auf einer Wellenlänge sind und ich sie oft nicht nachvollziehen konnte und deswegen einfach Probleme mit dem Buch hatte.
Eine letzte „Kritik“, die mich gerade zu Beginn eher gestört hat war, dass wir viele Informationen oft angeteasert bekommen, aber den ganzen Inhalt erst einige Kapitel später (z.B. wie viele Geschwister hat er? Ist er der älteste/jüngste? Was ist mit ihrem Vater? Was ist mit ihrer Mutter?…).
Das Buch an sich hat auf jeden Fall eine ganz gute Grundidee und ist in sich stimmig und gut abgerundet und wenn man sich für Mode interessiert wird einem die Geschichte bestimmt gefallen :)
Leider war es auf zu vielen Ebenen nicht mein Fall, weil ich oft die Emotionen der Protagonisten in der jeweiligen Situation nicht nachvollziehen konnte, und deswegen kann ich dem Buch nur drei Sterne geben.

Oh my gosh, I simply ADORED this book. Elliot and Maeve were so cute, and there story was so real and raw. I cannot wait to see what comes next.
In this novel, he falls first. Billionaire heir to a fashion line, Elliot is interning at the company his Grandmother started, per his father’s request. Enter Maeve. A recent college graduate who has dreamt of being a designer to honor her late mother. She is also interning at the Ashwood fashion company…and her and Elliot are competing for a permanent job post internship. Who will prevail?
Elliot was so sweet. Maybe a little spicy/sour at the start, but he always had Maeve’s back and just wanted to get to know her. I loved how he treated her to different Ashwood fashion items he knew she coveted but could never afford. I loved how he worried about her running and walking home at night, so he had his security team keep an eye on her to ensure she got home safe.
Maeve was a fiery little redhead. She definitely surprised me at the beginning when she tried to sabotage Elliot. Like a sour patch kid, she eventually turned sweet on him and found herself thinking about him all the time. I think she truly fell because Elliot cares about her and really takes pride in showing off her designs and creations. Love them together!!!
This book was a fun read. I’m hoping we get Roman’s book next!

I got an early ARC copy of Ruled by Rivalry by Selina Mae (the cover is so endlessly beautiful), and I honestly loved every single page. From the very first chapter to the last, I was completely hooked!
Why I loved it so much:
🤍 The fashion world vibe: Reading about the luxury fashion world and corporate rivalry was just so much fun. It felt fast, exciting, and glamorous!
🤍 Maeve and Elliot: The tension between them was amazing. Maeve is trying so hard to be professional, but competing against the youngest heir to the empire made for the best banter and drama. He is also a cutie pie, I loved him so much!
🤍 Living together: The shared apartment situation added such a fun twist. Having them compete at work and then run into each other at home made their chemistry so good!
🤍 Maeve is great: I loved how hard-working and determined she is. You really want her to win, even when she's dealing with spilled coffee and chaotic meetings.
Final thoughts: A total 5-star read for me! It was fun, full of great tension, and I couldn't put it down. I truly loved it from beginning to end! And the banter was just perfect!

Doch am ersten Tag der Schock: Sie muss gegen Elliot Ashwood, den milliardenschweren Enkel des Modeimperiums, der sich mit der Presse wieder gutstellen muss, um eine mögliche Vollzeitstelle konkurrieren. Sie weiß von Anfang an, dass sie zu dreckigen Tricks greifen muss, um überhaupt eine Chance gegen den arroganten Mann zu haben. Doch die beiden kommen sich näher, als Elliot in der Wohnung einzieht, in der das Unternehmen Maeve untergebracht hat ...
Ich habe das Buch sehr gerne gelesen, es war irgendwie genau das, was ich gebraucht habe. Es war eine solide Enemies-to-Lovers-Story, mit einer sehr starken Protagonistin (einige würden sie vielleicht als egoistisch bezeichnen). Das Modeimperium hat jetzt nicht unbedingt so eine große Rolle gespielt, wie ich das erwartet hatte, aber es war ein schönes Setting und hat eine gute Rahmenhandlung vorgegeben. Ich finde man merkt der Autorin ihren Fanfiction-Background an (das meine ich positiv), es gab viele Momente zwischen Maeve und Elliot die ich sehr mochte.
Ich freue mich jetzt schon sehr auf den zweiten Teil, der sich um Elliots Bruder Rowan handelt.

Das Modeimperium hat jetzt nicht unbedingt so eine große Rolle gespielt, wie ich das erwartet hatte, aber es war ein schönes Setting und hat eine gute Rahmenhandlung vorgegeben. We can’t judge a book by its cover buuuut… a super cute cover? I’m in!!
This one was my first by Selina Mae and I’m so glad I got the chance to read it, this is exactly why I ARC read (new author unlocked!!).
The easy to follow story and the Fashion world setting made this one fun and enjoyable.
Now, Characters:
Maeve definitely frustrated me at times, but I could understand where she was coming from and why she acted/thought the way she did. Her passion was admirable!
And Elliot… I would have LOVED to get more of his thoughts and POVs. But he was a total sweetheart in my books 💕
The two of them worked so well together, and their chemistry was absolutely there!
I’m also really intrigued by the side characters, so hopefully we get to see more of them in the next books.

Dieses Buch wird leider nicht in meine Favoritenliste kommen.
Ich hätte es gerne gemocht und habe mich auch darüber gefreut, als ich die Zusage bekam, aber es ist so voller Klischees und die Protagonistin ist für mich persönlich nicht gut getroffen.
Die ständige Betonung, dass seine Muskeln jetzt definierter sind, war schon anstrengend. Und auch die Zurschaustellung davon.
Wir haben es schon nach dem ersten Mal verstanden!
Dann die Tatsache, dass sie ihm vorhält, sie nicht gewarnt zu haben in der Klatschpresse zu landen, wenn sie fotografiert werden...Sie hat ihm selbst Fotografen dafür hinterhergeschickt... Es gibt noch so vieles mehr was überhaupt nicht stimmig war ...
Es ist halt ein klein wenig widersprüchlich und sie wirkt nicht wie eine erwachsene Person, die sie verkörpern sollte.
Elliot kam besser herüber als Charakter, erwachsener. Das komplette Gegenteil von Maeve. Ich hätte das Buch lieber aus seiner Sicht gelesen.
Vielleicht bin ich auch nur zu alt für solche Geschichten inzwischen 🥲
Der Schreibstil war angenehm, flüssig zu lesen und leicht verständlich. Daher 2.5 Sterne

Es ist halt ein klein wenig widersprüchlich und sie wirkt nicht wie eine erwachsene Person, die sie verkörpern sollte.
Elliot kam besser herüber als Charakter, erwachsener. Das komplette Gegenteil von Maeve. Ich hätte das Buch lieber aus seiner Sicht gelesen.
Vielleicht bin ich auch nur zu alt für solche Geschichten inzwischen 🥲
Der Schreibstil war angenehm, flüssig zu lesen und leicht verständlich. Daher 2.5 Sterne

What a fun romcom!
Told from recent fashion grad Maeve Peterson’s POV is the story of her internship with Ashwood - a prestigious luxury fashion company. There, she meets Elliott Ashwood, billionaire grandson to fashion mogul Hunter Ashwood, and her competition for a spot as a junior designer following the internship. Elliott claims he doesn’t want to be there and doesn’t want the spot, but Maeve isn’t convinced. Nor is she immune to his charm.
Maeve is such a relatable character as she steps into the adult world on her own. Elliott is thoughtful and sweet, despite the hesitation you see through Maeve’s narration. I do wish that Maeve and her bestie’s friendship was explored a bit more, and perhaps less of Allegra.
Overall, loved my first venture into a Selina Mae book!

Selina Mae entführt uns mit 'Ashwood Anthology' nach New York in ein Mode Imperium, das meine Neugier mit jeder Seite mehr wecken konnte. Wenn ich eins sagen kann, dann dass die Dialoge es in sich hatten - es hat so viel Spaß gemacht, wie Elliot und Maeve sich sowohl sprachlich als auch in ihren Handlungen immer wieder herausgefordert haben und dabei sich etwas kinsternd-warmes entwickelt. Gerade Maeve fand ich am Anfang direkt sympathisch! Aber auch Elliots Entwicklung hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Für mich hätte es gern noch ein wenig mehr in die Tiefe gehen können. Bei beiden Figuren waren Nuancen erkennbar, die man gern noch hätte nutzen können. Ich bin in diese Welt abgetaucht und freue mich jetzt schon sehr auf den zweiten Band...

Der Teufel trägt Prada in Buchform. Ich mochte es richtig gerne, vor allem, weil beim Lesen ein richtiger Film in meinem Kopf abgelaufen ist. Maeve und Elliot waren tolle Protagonisten und ich mochte die Dynamik zwischen den Beiden sehr gerne. Hin und wieder gab es etwas Drama, was ich manchmal etwas unnötig fand, aber insgesamt bin ich einfach durchgeflogen. Der Schreibstil war auch super angenehm und auch das High Society Setting fand ich gut umgesetzt. Ich bin sehr gespannt auf den zweiten Band, ich kann’s auf jeden Fall empfehlen ^^

I love a good rivals to lovers moment and this was perfect. Add in the forced proximity and this was just a fun time. I absolutely loved Elliot and Maeve. I think their dynamic was so much fun with Maeve being uptight and Elliot being obsessed (as he should be). This was so sweet and I adored how much Elliot doted on her. The competition to win the full time position definitely brought out the worst in Maeve so it was fun to see how spending time with Elliot forced her to confront a lot of her feelings.

5/5 if it’s only about vibes and how much i enjoyed reading it. such a fun story to read and even though the next cliché is coming around the corner before you’ve gotten past the current one idc! i loved the clichés!
i loved the characters. both maeve and elliot are so likeable and their dynamic was a joy to read. i couldn’t give a full 5 stars simply because some parts of the story didn’t fully make sense to me and the trope of the crazy jealous ex girlfriend kinda annoys me. other than that i loved every part of this and can’t wait to read the next book in the anthology!

3.5⭐️ Hat mir echt gut gefallen, wie alle anderen Bücher der Autorin:) Ihr Schreibstil ist super flüssig so dass sich das Buch innerhalb eines Tages wegsnacken lässt.
Die Charaktere waren beide sehr sympathisch und die Chemie zwischen den beiden hat man auch gemerkt😊
Tatsächlich hat es mir gefallen das hier die FMC auch mal scheiße gebaut hat und der Konflikt (zumindest teilweise) nicht immer nur durch den MMC entsteht!

This was so cute, and classic enemies to lovers in a nyc fashion empire setting. It gave off Devil Wears Prada mixed with Emily in Paris vibes, and I’m obsessed with it. I loved the build up of their relationship, the banter between the characters, and how the FMC handled certain messy situations. Thank you LYX for the arc!!
