July 15, 2026unfortunately, i will not be finishing this. at 35%, this book has a lot of issues i am having trouble with.
thank you avon and netgalley for the arc!
the first qualm i have, being that the whole vibe of the first book is a sexy, coming of self story, mainly about two characters. this book is VASTLY different when it comes to the MC’s connection, and the setup for the plot is just book 1 without the sexy part, lol. i don’t need spice, but when all of book 1 there’s a LOT, there is a certain tone that’s set, in my opinion.
the second being that the pacing is very inconsistent and so slow, that i have completely lost interest.
the third, is that we brought in characters i am supposed to care about, and i just did not- as they were barely ever in book 1. the conflict between Enver, Evangeline and Nell did not make a lot of sense to me as a main plot point, i was not sure what was the implications were supposed to be with that?
and finally, the banter started really making me feel icked out. this just didn’t have the charm of book 1 for me. however, i do love book 1 enough that i am definitely open to reading more from this author!

Tropes: Dark Romantasy, Shadow Daddy / Shadow Play, Touch Her and 💀, Obsessive & Possessive MMC, Who Did This to You?, Overcoming Trauma Together, High Stakes Quest, Multiple Realms
Review No Spoilers: If you thought Until the World Falls Down was intense, this sequel takes everything to another level! The second installment in the Shadowsworn romantasy trilogy picks up after the destruction of the magical labyrinth and Enver’s curse finally being broken but freedom doesn’t mean life suddenly gets easier.
Nell and Enver’s fated mates connection is stronger than ever, but so are the secrets standing between them. Enver’s magic is becoming increasingly unstable, and when Nell discovers that his survival depends on finding a long lost relic, there’s no way she’s going to let him face it alone.
What follows is a dangerous journey across multiple realms filled with magic, enemies from the past, powerful fae, vengeance, and plenty of twists. I loved the way the story expands beyond the labyrinth while continuing to explore Nell and Enver’s relationship. Their connection is intense, complicated, and packed with that delicious “touch her and die” protective energy. 🖤
This sequel also dives deeper into themes of self-acceptance, trust, sacrifice, and confronting the darkness within. Nell is forced to make some incredibly difficult choices, raising the stakes for both her relationship with Enver and the fate of the kingdom.
And yes the romance is 🔥🔥🔥. Expect fated mates, a seriously dark and protective “shadow daddy,” open door spice, high stakes, and plenty of romantic tension.
A thrilling continuation with darker magic, bigger stakes, more dangerous enemies, and a romance that keeps burning hotter. If you love dark romantasy, fated mates, protective MMCs, magical quests, and spicy fantasy romance, this sequel is definitely one to add to your TBR! 🖤✨

Book 1 may have been spice disguised as plot but at least it was a vibe; at least it was bingeable, stupid fun. It had that something unexpected that had me interested in the next book. But unfortunately, with what I read, book 2 failed to show me anything of the sort. Feels like typical middle book syndrome.
What I do like: •the writing itself has improved even if marginally but it’s a bit better. The sentences have a less juvenile structure & better flow •I also appreciate all of the issues that the author attempts to weave into the communication/into the plot/into the relationships & how to deal & persevere through them •The FMC does continue to try to improve on herself & work on her insecurities. & I especially like how she stands up for his former fiancé when he’s being nasty.
But there is so much that does not work:
•Right in the first ch we have spice. I guess so we don’t get it twisted🤣we gotta stay knowing book 2 will be staying 🌶️🌶️ But then they decide to put the breaks on the physical & work on the actual relationship. Which ok I am allll for this approach. But we just end up venturing into miscommunication galore🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ just when I thought they were talking like adults in a relationship that they really want to make work, they turn around & act like idiots.
•The MMC (& even the side characters that stole the show last book) feel so inconsistent to who we met prior. Who is this man? This isn’t the shadow daddy material he was exuding last book. Which ok, can be due to the resolution from book 1 but I’m still not liking his bullheadedness one bit. & the way he is treating her is bordering on too dark for my tastes.
•I think just the overall tone of this book is different. I’m not even sure what the author is aiming for here but it’s a miss. This isn’t where I would think the plot would move for the second book but even so this direction feels aimless. The plot is barely present. It doesn’t have depth/it doesn’t feel engaging enough to hold my interest. The repetition & filler is overkill too. The pacing is also so uneven.
•& I’m lost as to what the subplot of his ex fiancé is even supposed to offer. It adds nothing to the overall story but more importantly bogs down their romance significantly. + the way he’s behaving towards this poor woman is tasteless & gross.
Overall: if you loved book 1, I think you will still find something to enjoy here. But if you’re like me & book 1 was just good (or worse) then book 2 may be disappointing.

First of all, thank you to Avon and Harper Voyager and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC ahead of its release on December 29, 2026. I’m incredibly grateful to have had the chance to experience this story before its official publication.
I flew through this book way faster than I expected. Jordan Lynde’s writing is so smooth and effortless that I kept telling myself “Just one more chapter” and suddenly I was staring at the end. I don’t know who gave this book permission to be so addictive.
Seeing Enver continue to grow was probably my favorite part. He still has that guarded side that made me like him before, but watching those walls slowly come down hit me right in the feelings. The more I learned about him, the more I just wanted to protect him… and maybe hand him a blanket, a cup of hot chocolate and a lifetime of therapy.
I also loved Nell’s journey. Her growth felt quieter than in the first book, but it was meaningful. Watching her slowly trust her own instincts and find the courage to speak up made me so proud of her. She isn’t perfect and that’s exactly why she felt so real to me.
The romance still had me kicking my feet. The chemistry between Nell and Enver is emotional, tender and full of longing. The intimate moments never felt like they were there just for the sake of spice, they helped me understand their relationship and their vulnerabilities even more.
If I had one tiny complaint, it would be that I wanted even more moments between the main couple. I was enjoying every second they shared, so naturally I became greedy and wanted another hundred pages. That’s entirely a me problem.
And then… that ending. Excuse me? Jordan Lynde really looked me in the eyes, shattered my emotions and walked away. I’m officially joining the support group for readers waiting on the next book because that cliffhanger was absolutely criminal.
This was an emotional, beautifully written sequel that made me laugh, smile and quietly suffer. I already know I’ll be thinking about Enver and Nell while impatiently waiting for the next installment.

✨ARC Review✨
I went into reading "Until the World Falls Down" expecting just an ovulation, fun time read. I left crying from the impact of the story. I was actually incredibly moved by it.
With "Until the Stars Burn Out", I had very high expectations because of that. And while I did enjoy the book, I think it needs a few more edits in order to make it really land. I think some of the repeating, reassuring conversations could have been condensed some. I understand a lot of healing needs to be had and talked through, but it got repetitive.
I loved it, I really loved the message, but I think this would benefit a lot from a few more rounds of edits to make it stick and land and have the effect it clearly wants you to feel.
I LOVED the ending, I couldn't put the book down. I loved Kayn as the villan and how it all comes together. I am very invested in Nell and Enver's love, and I am excited to see what happens in the next book, and what else we can learn and heal from with them. I think it will be fun to see things from a different angle and I am very curious how it will impact the characters.
Overall, I think it was weaker than the first book, some cheesiness in some of the dialogue and conversations that went on a little too long, but I think editing will really help strengthen it and make it loved by all. I still loved it, and I am still going to continue the story because I think the world and characters are very endearing!

✨ UNTIL THE STARS BURN OUT by Jordan Lynde ✨
How do you follow up a book where your characters escape the labyrinth and get their happily-ever-after?
Apparently, you make them realize that escaping was the EASY part. 😭 After finishing Until The World Falls Down, I already knew this series was something special, so when Until The Stars Burn Out landed on NetGalley, I basically said immediately, yes, ruin my emotional stability. And ruin it, Jordan did. Nell’s character growth was probably one of my favorite parts of this book. Watching her go from a people-pleasing doormat to someone who can finally stand in her own power—without losing the softness and compassion that make her Nell—was SO satisfying. The soft-to-strong FMC transformation can be hit or miss, but this one? Nailed it. She didn’t suddenly become cold or unrecognizable. She simply learned that having a soft heart doesn’t mean you have to let everyone walk all over it. 🥹
And then there’s Enver.
Sir. Please get yourself together. 😭
His return to his emotions and memories left me with approximately 700 questions. What happened to turn him into the Enver we know now? Was it the trauma? His exile? Losing his people? Losing his emotions? ALL OF THE ABOVE?! I NEED ANSWERS.
And honestly, his emotional journey is a huge reason I need book three. Yes, I’m here for the plot. Yes, I’m here for the spice. But mostly…
I need to know that Enver is going to be okay.
One thing I REALLY appreciated was the way Nell and Enver handled their relationship. Is there miscommunication? Absolutely. Are they occasionally toxic? Yep. But instead of the obligatory breakup, dramatic separation, and 200 pages of refusing to communicate…
THEY ACTUALLY TALK ABOUT IT.
They listen. They try to understand each other. They confront the ugly parts instead of running from them. And little by little, you can actually see their relationship becoming healthier and deeper. 👏🏻 We also get world-hopping adventures, an ancient relic, old enemies, new found family, cameos from characters I loved from the first book, and enough emotional damage to keep me staring at the ceiling afterward. And Jordan Lynde’s writing? SO descriptive. The settings, the dialogue, the atmosphere, the tension—I could see and feel everything so vividly. It made the entire world feel alive.
And THAT ENDING?!
Heartbreaking. Brutal. Completely unfair.
That cliffhanger and epilogue have me sitting here like:
BOOK THREE ISN’T EVEN OUT YET AND I’M ALREADY NOT OKAY. If you loved the first book, trust me—you need this one. And if you haven’t started this series yet, what are you waiting for?!
🌶️🌶️🌶️.5/5 — Enver once again had me needing a cold shower and possibly holy water. 😂🔥
A huge thank you to Jordan Lynde, NetGalley, and Avon and Harper Voyager for the ARC. I absolutely loved getting to return to this world, and I cannot WAIT to see what comes next! 💫

This book was everything I wanted for this sequel!!!! I waited from November 2024 when Jordan self-published for this and it was worth it I was so happy to see all the old characters returning, especially Dio. I didn't think we'd get to see their worlds again! It was one of my favorite parts of book one. I loved to see their words and stories expanded. I do think this is a character driven book rather than a super deep plot, but that's perfectly fine with me. It's like getting seven short stories in one, what a deal lol. I didn't find it repetitive or boring at all. I was invested in every single character from book one. I want them all to have HEA.
I love the interactions and seeing Nel have friends and a found family. I loved seeing Nel and Enver's relationship grow and it is HEALTHYYYYY. They talk about their feelings. They don't get angry at each other. It's SO refreshing to see!!! I guarantee people may claim it's boring that they're so communicative but we need more healthy representations instead of miscommunication solely for drama. Especially in romantasy books. Nell and Enver balance each other out extremely well. I just loved when he hugged her instead of getting mad. Top 3 moments of this book.
The connections and character development were amazing. Especially for Enver. He was lowkey cruel at the beginning of the book to the other characters, but the more I learned of his past, I couldn't blame him. Why would he trust anyone? Why would he want to care for someone and lose them like everyone else? I'm actually surprised he never pushed Nell away because of this. (I appreciate it though lolz.) I love how Nell helped him through his emotions as he had helped her through her desperation in book one. And then to see him lowering his walls at the end made me so happy. There's still some room to grow, though. I'm curious to know if they'll have to go back to the other worlds in book three and how those he was cruel to (especially Silas) will react to Enver. I hope he's forced to confront how he treated them. (And I want to know if there's a reason for that, and if it's for book three?? Will Enver need their help or will they need Nell's again?)
I hate that I read this early simply because I have to wait longer for book three. For now, I'll re-read the jealous Enver scene that I just know is going to break the internet. Phew.

ARC- almost DNF but stuck it out.
Starting out I liked Nell and Enver, then a chapter or two in I was really starting to wonder if this is a case of Stockholm syndrome as did the fmc Nell. It seemed that Enver knew all of Nells fears of abandonment and used them against her. No real conversations he just started using foreplay/hormones and getting her to forgot and manipulate her thoughts to her want him.
As the early part of the book goes on and they meet people from their past, Enver, despite being loved by Nell just appears to me as an arrogant, chovanistic dick. He is very possessive of the FMC. Enver looks down upon Nell as lesser because she is human. And she obeys him. She exists only to please him, wait on him and to really be his to use her body when he wants. It is even his pet name for her "my little lover". He is very demeaning, controlling and gives her permission to tend to him but she had to anyway. 🙄 He lost all his emotions and is slowly gaining them back. However, the majority of the book he did not gain the good ones.
Valens banter and lighthearted personality was a nice breath of fresh air against Enver traits.
The jealousy, possessive, and then a bit bipolar with saying she has free will he will never stop is quite a mental game Enver plays with Nell. Possesses and controls her, "punishes" for others looking at her and worse if they touch her, then says its okay, you have free will. What a mind fuck of an unhealthy relationship.
Enver is dangerous and Nell knows it but keeps coming back to "he wont hurt me". Not really reliable as he has put her in danger. He puts everyone in danger who is in the same room as Nell due to his uncontrollable jealousy.
Trapped. Nell is trapped in a relationship with him and Enver knew how to set it and keep her. Freedom with restrictions.
As the book moves on Enver starts getting back the rest of his emotions and becomes less of a bastard. I start to like him.
This is book two. I didn't read book 1 and randomly bits from the past are dropped into the story. They don't flow well.
I stuck it out and finished the book. The last 40% was a good story. Do I want to pick up the first or wait for the 3rd? Not for me, no.

What happens after the villain gets the girl?
At the end of the last book our MCs escaped the labyrinth and got their HEA...except, did they?
Both Nell and Enver are still emotionally raw from their pasts - her working through the trauma of her previous life and him the weight of all his emotions and memories returning in one fell swoop. They spent the first week or so post-escape exploring their carnal connection, then choose to take a step back from the physical to find what it means to be together fully - not just in bed.
Is there miscommunication under the guise of protecting each other? Absolutely. Does the relationship continue to be toxic for part of the story? It does.
However, instead of it causing some mid-point break up and massive fight over communication, they do the opposite of the normal trope and they talk about it. They see the other's points of view and work toward understanding, coming out the other side with a deeper connection each time. The toxicity slowly falls away, giving rise to something healthier.
As the story progresses - we learn that Enver needs to find a relic to control his power before it consumes him while preparing to confront an old enemy has taken hold of their lands. Our MCs find family in the three fae that knew Enver as Verofer, before their mutual and then unknown adversary betrayed them all. The five of them together learn what it is to forgive and hold each other close when the world threatens to tear them apart.
Throughout the book we see Enver and Nell world hopping to look for his relic, and we get treated with cameos from old friends Nell helped in book one. A 'where are they now' that came with lessons for Enver, who struggles with his newly rediscovered emotions from the get-go. It was great to see how some of them ended up.
The climax of the story is heartbreaking and leaves us on a cliffhanger unlike book one and that epilogue...friends, I cannot wait for book 3 - and this one isn't even out yet!
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 - Enver yet again had me needing a cold shower in holy water several times.

This book was INCREDIBLE. I DEVOURED it.
I absolutely LOVED book 1 in this series, reading and re-reading it multiple times, so the scream I screamed when I got the Netgalley approval for the ARC was ear-shattering. And the only downside to having gotten it, eaten it up in a little over a day, and loving it, is that now I have a longer wait for book 3.
But I'll take it.
The character growth in this book, especially for Enver, is phenomenal. If you liked him in book 1, you'll like him more here. If you loved him in book 1 (like me), you'll ADORE him in book 2. Watching him slowly, slowly lower his walls to let people in, and after you learn about WHY he has those walls in the first place? Ugh, I want to just wrap him in a warm blanket and give him hot cocoa.
But that isn't to stay that Nell doesn't also grow in this book. While her arc isn't as dramatic as book 1, she still grows in her self-confidence in this book, letting Valen and others convince her to act in ways that she knows in her gut isn't right, but she isn't confident enough to defy them. But she finds that strength, and when her gut tells her that this choice is wrong, she says it. I really loved seeing Nell's continued confidence.
And the spice. Ah, the spice. As wonderful if not as plentiful as book 1. But it's perfect because you get a glimpse into Enver that explains why he falls back onto physical affection with Nell so often, and it's just heartbreaking.
Be warned: this book ends with a PAINFUL cliffhanger! And we don't know when book 3 is coming (take your time, ma'am!!! You write when and as you want, and we'll be here waiting!) so it'll probably not be until late 2027, but that's okay. This is worth the wait.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
I am so happy that I was approved to receive this ARC from NetGalley since I enjoyed the first book of the series so much.
This second book picks up immediately after the first book ends, Nell and Enver are in his castle when strange noises begin to echo throughout the halls. Enver tells Nell to stay in the bedroom while he goes to investigate, but does she listen, of course not. What she finds reveals secrets about the new world she is in, the different magic wielded in the realm, and deeper emotional tribulations that Enver does not want to face about surviving the labyrinth, his past with his family and with his former love and the family that cursed him.
Nell and Enver must retrace their steps between worlds together to try and find his lost relic so his magic may be fully restored. While there, they encounter old friends from the labyrinth that Nell helped to free, but a whole new set of trials to overcome in search of Enver’s ring.
✨What I loved:
*older FMC (28)
*Morally black(according to Enver) MMC
*Shadows and what he does with them 😉
*animal shifters
*trials/problem solving
*magic system/world building
*a look into Enver’s past
✨ What I thought could be better:
*I hate extremely insecure FMC’s. I get that we all have them from time to time, but when the inner monologue is the same insecurities and thoughts of not being good enough through the majority of the book, it gets old.
*I also felt like the repetitive conversations between Nell and Enver about “I’m not good enough for you” “yes you are, let me show you and constantly remind you” got old as well.

Spoiler free review!
From the moment I finished Until The World Falls Down, I knew this series would be different than anything else I’d read. I was so pleasantly surprised when Until The Stars Burn Out showed up on NetGalley!
Nell’s growth and character arc is endearing and satisfying, as a reformed people-pleaser and doormat, myself. I’m proud of her for growing and strengthening while remaining true to her soft heart and giving spirit - I feel like the “soft-to-strong” character growth trope is a tricky one to traverse for a FMC - but Nell’s was nicely done. She didn’t become so hardened that I had emotional whiplash, as with some FMC from other books I’ve read. Enver’s arc was a bit harder to discern - I still wonder what caused his extreme change in personality (according to Evie and Valen). Was it the emotional toll and trauma of the inception of the labyrinth and his exile to it? Was it the loss and genocide of his family and people? Was it losing all of his emotions that drained and replaced his former personality with the hardened heart of the Enver the readers know him as? There wasn’t an obvious revelation or reconnecting of the two parts of himself; this, for me, is a huge reason to come back for another (next in series) book, as a reader. Yes - I’ll be back for the plot… for the steam… but also, I need to know that Enver is gonna be okay!!
Jordan, you are the epitome of a descriptive writer. Whether it was a steamy scene, a change in setting, or dialogue between characters - I could see, feel, and hear the details so clearly through every page.

4.5⭐️
I RAN to this ARC after devouring the first book. Enver and Nell were absolute goals and NetGalley gods bestowed their kindness upon me 🙏🏻
Nell and Enver still had their same chemistry in this book, except add in learning intimacy that goes beyond the physical, which was so beautiful. They both went through so much growth, which I loved. There was the found family aspect as well, which I’ll eat up every damn time! It was fun seeing what the other labyrinth people were up to since Enver was free of his curse, ultimately sealing the fact that love concurs all and giving hope that Nell and Enver can have their happily ever after, too.
A couple of things felt slightly confusing at times, or maybe the pacing felt a little off which was why the half star got deducted. Sometimes the pacing felt slow with some things, or random things were thrown in that felt like it would be pertinent to the story but wasn’t mentioned again. Then other things felt a little rushed where it maybe could have been fleshed out a bit more or I found myself really wanting more detail about a situation or character.
Overall though, I really fell in love with this book, series, and these character, and after THAT ENDING I cannot wait to devour the next book. My only regret about reading this as an ARC is now I have to wait an extra 5 months until I can read the third book 😭😭😭😭
Thank you again to NetGalley, Jordan Lynde, and HarperCollins for this Advanced Copy.

2.5 rounded up because I kind of liked the ending?
This all felt very forced. The plot, the relationships, the villain story. I couldn’t get into it.
The relationships between Nell and the others felt out of place. Vallan’s comedic relief felt misplaced. Yes, I liked seeing the characters she helped from last book make an appearance but some of them just rubbed me the wrong way. I think Dio’s character was ruined in this.
I didn’t super understand how we would have a whole second book with the ending of book one. It unfolded pretty quickly and I get it but again, everything felt forced. We get to our true villain and his villain story felt like it was being made up as we went.
Nell and Enver. That is not a healthy relationship. Yes, he’s just learning how to have emotions and yes, she’s learning how to love and be loved but this is…toxic. A constant battle of keeping a secret, learning how to communicate with one another, long declarations of feelings, and then spice. Rinse, lather, repeat. Oh, and she wants to take it slow. Ma’am, he used a shadow replica last book to have spicy time with two of him. I think we are past taking it slow.
Oh. And “my little lover” is used 66 times. It was too much. Too. Much.
I get why people liked this, it just was not for me.

I really enjoyed book one (Until the World Falls Down), but book two has been disappointing. In the first book, the author had a note in the beginning saying “I did the calculations and this book is 22% smut. Do with that information what you will ;)” but this book starts off the the Main characters deciding to go slow and take some time off sex after an intial burst in the beginning. Definitely a big chance of pace after it was such a large portion of book one.
Ultimately, at 45% it’s a DNF for me. I do not like the pacing, it feels very stilted and disjointed. I’m not sure any of the traveling has added to the plot at all, even with the appearances of returning characters from the first book. A lot of main characters’ choices seem juvenile and repetitive. Enver and Nel bounce back and forth between little too cheesy with a honeymoon phase moments to also acting quite terrible to each other. All the keeping secrets, misunderstanding each other, and dealing with jealousy (again and again and again), made their romance feel frustrating rather than compelling. The emotional beats started to feel juvenile and cyclical.
Ultimately, it wasn’t the direction I was hoping the sequel would go. Thanks to the publisher Avon and Harper Voyager for giving me an ARC of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this one, even if I don’t think it quite lived up to the first book for me.
The fae reveal was one of my favorite parts, and I loved that we got to revisit past worlds instead of staying in just one place. The shadow creatures were such a fun, creepy addition and made the action feel a lot more exciting. I also loved getting more of Enver’s backstory.
My biggest issue was Enver constantly keeping secrets. I know it fits his character, but after a while it just became frustrating as someone who really likes Nell. I loved continuing Enver and Nell’s story, but the overall plot felt a little slower this time around.
The romance is definitely where this book shines. The yearning between Enver and Nell was absolutely everything! 5/5 yearning without question. The shadow double showing up during the spicy scenes was such a unique detail that I haven’t really seen before. I’d also give the spice 5/5, although I honestly think the book could’ve done with a few fewer spicy scenes. There were also two scenes that had me really uncomfortable, and if Nell hadn’t ultimately given her consent, I genuinely think I would’ve DNF’d the book.
Overall, I still had a great time with it. It didn’t quite hit the same highs as the first book for me, but I’m still invested in these characters and can’t wait to see where the series goes next.

True Shadow Daddy...check.
Touch her and die vibes...check.
Fated pairs...check.
Spice... triple check!
This is book 2 in the Shadowsworn series. I enjoyed book 1 tremendously (Until the World Falls Down), and was anxiously awaiting for this story to release. It did not disappoint!
In this book, Nell and Enver are free from the labyrinth and trying to navigate the aftermath. Enver needs to reclaim a relic to help control his shadow magic, which becomes more and more unstable as their emotions and actions for each other grow. Nell travels across realms with him looking for the relic and also finding out more about themselves and each other along the way.
One thing I really enjoyed about this story was how Lynde reintroduced the characters from book 1 and continued their journeys, but in a way that was natural to the progression of this book. Her ability to cover many relevant, current issues and topics so seamlessly into this world, through these characters, without feeling forced is brilliant!
And then there was the ending.... I read the last few lines and just stared at the words, hoping that it was not really going to end there. Fortunately, there is another book. I cannot wait to go back to this world because twice was NOT enough!!
Thank you NetGalley, Avon and Harper Voyager for sending this advanced copy for review. All opinions are my own.

I absolutely loved Until the World Falls Down, so I went into this sequel with incredibly high expectations. Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to the first book for me.
The world-building is still beautiful, and I genuinely enjoyed spending more time with Nell and Enver. There are some emotional moments that really shine, and the overall message of healing, trust, and self-acceptance is one of the strongest parts of the story.
Where it lost me was the pacing. A lot of the conversations felt repetitive, and I found myself wanting the plot to move forward more quickly. There were sections that could have been tightened up, and I think a few more rounds of editing would have made a big difference. The story has all the right ingredients—it just didn't have the same momentum or emotional impact that made the first book so unforgettable.
That said, I never wanted to DNF it. I still cared about these characters, I wanted to see how everything came together, and I was satisfied with the conclusion.
If you loved the first book, I still recommend giving this one a chance. It just didn't capture the same magic for me, which is why it lands at 3 stars. Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to the publisher, netgalley, and the author for this advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
Unfortunately, this book didn't do it for me.
The plot was very repetitive.
The entire premise is trying to find Enver's relic and world hoping with Valen's help. Enver was an ass to literally 99.9999% of everyone he met. Nell would try to convince him to spare them/help them and he did so begrudgingly. They would return home, spend fifteen pages talking about their feelings, nearly be intimate, and then step away. They would fight again, somehow saying nothing and everything, and then go back to world hoping.
For over three hundred pages.
Every world hop brought back characters from the first book, but those scenes didn't advance the plot. It felt like filler to get length. Unneeded jealousy, dialogue that didn't serve much purpose, only to start all over again.
The chapters were so long. I desperately needed more breaks or just shorter pages in general.
I am all for a declaration of love, but this was almost *too* much.
Unfortunately, I do not believe I will be continuing with the series but wish the author best of luck.

Jordan Lynde has done it again. After loving Until the World Falls Down, I couldn’t wait to dive into her next novel, and somehow she exceeded my expectations. From the very first chapter, I was completely invested in the characters and emotionally attached to their journey.
The chemistry between the characters felt natural and compelling, the pacing kept me turning pages late into the night, and the emotional moments landed perfectly. Jordan has a way of creating characters who feel incredibly real while weaving together romance, tension, and heartfelt moments in a way that leaves you thinking about them long after you’ve finished.
Without giving anything away, this story delivers everything I was hoping for and more. If you enjoyed Until the World Falls Down, you’re going to fall in love with this one too. It’s emotional, captivating, and impossible to put down.
I’m so grateful for the opportunity to read this ARC and cannot wait for everyone else to experience it when it releases.
This is absolutely a book I will be recommending to my audience and one I will be thinking about for a long time!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book was a beautiful continuation that I enjoyed even more than the first book. This story felt more emotional and gave me a deeper connection to the characters as they faced new challenges, personal struggles, and the consequences of their choices. I liked seeing the growth in the characters and how their relationships continued to develop in a way that felt more mature and meaningful. The story had a good balance of romance, emotions, and difficult moments that kept me invested throughout. While there were parts that moved at a slower pace for me, the overall journey was worth it because of the character development and the emotional impact of the story. I appreciated the way Jordan Lynde explored themes of love, healing, and finding strength after painful experiences. This sequel built on the foundation of the first book and, for me, delivered a stronger and more engaging reading experience. A solid 4-star read that I would recommend to readers who enjoy emotional romance with characters you can root for.

Unfortunately I set myself up for disappointment this time.
When I requested this I didn’t realize it was book two of what I learned after the fact will be a trilogy so unsurprisingly I have not read book one.
I’m conflicted on how to fairly rate this.
I found myself at times confused, I cannot figure out where in the world the over all plot is going, things felt messy, I didn’t understand certain decisions or behavior due to having zero background context.
That being said this book does contain a lot of things I normally really, really enjoy. I liked the writing and think had I read this as intended I believe this would have been a knock out for me.
For right now I’m going to put this at three stars. When book three comes out, I am going to go back and read book one, reread this one and then read three and will readjust my rating after a proper read through and a more educated opinion.
I believe this *could* be a higher rated read but accidentally skipping book one really hurt the experience for me.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for this advance copy. Opinions are my own

received Until the Stars Burn Out through a Goodreads giveaway, and I’m so glad I did! This is book two in the series, and I haven’t read book one yet. The author does a good job of explaining things that happened in the first book, so I was able to follow the story without feeling completely lost. That said, I definitely have some questions, so I’ll be going back to read book one now!
I really enjoyed this story and got invested in the characters almost immediately. It’s a touch-her-and-die kind of story, which made it very relatable and added an extra layer to the romance. I also really liked the author’s writing style. The story flows well, and she does a great job of tying things together without leaving loose ends hanging.
I did notice a few spelling errors, but since this is an early copy and hasn’t been published yet, I’m assuming those will be corrected in the final version.
All in all, this was a great read, and I’m looking forward to going back and reading book one! Thank you for the opportunity to receive this book through the Goodreads giveaway!

Woah! I don't even know where to start because this book was so good and the ending has me in shock!!! I’ve been staring at the ceiling since I’ve finished it😭🫣
Nell and Enver continue to be one of my favorite parts of this series ☺️ Their relationship feels so earned and every moment between them had me hooked! I like that this book continued to show Nell and Enver’s growth, not just as a couple but individually! Their romance, angst, and emotional moments were all done so well! 🥰
I really appreciated how the story expanded without losing what made me fall in love with the first book. Even seeing some familiar friends! 👀
The stakes felt higher, the twists genuinely caught me off guard, and I never knew what was coming next! Every chapter left me wanting more! And that ending 😫I immediately need the next book!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5

ARC REVIEW:
Of course a special thank you to the publisher, NetGalley and Jordan Lynde herself for allowing me the privilege of reading this advanced copy.
I absolutely devoured this book. I couldn’t put it down. I read Until the World Falls Down and it was one of my top reads of the year. I didn’t know how the sequel could top it or be better but wow was I wrong.
Seeing Nell and Enver’s relationship develop as well as entire character arcs come to light was incredible. Learning more about Enver’s story and his family was brilliant. I wish that I could rate this book more than 5 stars. This book made me laugh, made me cry, some parts had me giddy and kicking my feet at the romance and love between Enver and Nell.
I could not recommend this book and series more. Although be prepared for the ending of this book to crush you in so many ways. I’ll be twiddling my thumbs patiently waiting for the next book to see what is next for Nell, Enver and the rest of the crew.

Things I liked:
It was really nice seeing how the previous participants of the labyrinth were doing and getting some closure on their happy endings. I love how obsessed Enver is with Nell, nothing new there but I’m glad it continues even after they are together. They have really strong communication about their relationship and emotions (unfortunately that’s where it ends though lol) and I really enjoyed the spice in this book, it was one of the things I really liked in the first book too and I’m happy this one didn’t disappoint in that regard (what them shadow doubles do tho?). The ending was pretty good too, I like where we’re going to be at starting in book 3.
Things I did not like:
This series felt like it could have been a duology to me. There are a lot of moments where they’re talking in circles and it got repetitive, Enver’s stubbornness just read as petulance and annoyed me a little. Like I get it you rediscovered emotions like yesterday but you’re kinda acting as a child and not a powerful centuries old being. One of the worst parts was Nells lies, she gave me ANXIETY! As I mentioned earlier, the relationship communication was fantastic but everything else was horrific. The chapters were also long, I felt like I couldn’t read more than one at a time because it was just so much talking.

I have to start by saying that I am really sad about this, but I am also not shocked because I felt that the first book left off at a decent ending. I gave the first book a 4-star rating, but that was based highly on the self-discovery journey in Nell that was underneath all of the cringy writing and over sexed chapters.
I ultimately DNF this one. I gave it until 25% finished, and nothing grabbed me about this plot, and I felt like Nell’s confidence backtracked a bit. Additionally, I almost felt like I was reading a different MMC; he was still horny and dominating, but this time it felt awkward. I also didn’t like that he was pretty honest in the first book and now he is secretive and dishonest about all the things.
I received this book from NetGalley; all opinions shared are my own and given freely.

This book COULD be decent. I like where the plot is going (even if it started to feel repetitive at times), and it was really fun getting to see the characters Nell helped from book 1 reappearing in book 2. But. There is an unnecessary amount of spice. To where it got repetitive and long, where I was skimming through and waiting for more plot to appear. I am all for spice in books, I think it is great, especially when tension is built appropriately. But this really just felt like the whole book could have been at least 100 pages shorter had the spice been more tastefully appropriated. The plot did actually pick up at the end and get interesting. Will I be continuing the series? Unfortunately, probably not, which makes me sad because I do mostly like Enver and Nell together and I liked Kayn as the villain. Thanks Netgalley for the e-ARC.

I feel like I've been stuck in a Labyrinth for years, waiting for this book to see what happens to Nell and Enver after they leave their prison and head back to the fae realm, with Nell deciding to stay there with Enver instead of returning to the human world. I truly believe this book fixed a lot of issues I had with the first book, mainly that the spice took over and made the book drag on. In this book, don't worry still plenty spicy- but there was still a fast-paced, high-stakes plot, worldbuilding, new characters, and the return of old ones as well.
The ending got blurry for me, but I do think the cliffhanger it left off on was heart-wrenching and so good. It really made the series feel like it was coming full circle!
