We haven’t seen the last of our favorite motorcycle club.
With more danger on the horizon, the Saints of Purgatory
are forced to face the deadly enemies at their doorstep.

As the vice president of a club on the brink of war with a
president newly in love with the killer who got them in this
mess in the first place, James Hartley takes on too many
responsibilities to handle alone. Which is how he finds
himself teaming up with the most relentlessly cheery
anomaly he’s ever met.

Sadie Oliver has only ever wanted to be whoever her people
need her to be. If that’s a spy to keep her best friend alive,
then just call her Jason Bourne. But it quickly becomes clear
she’s out of her depth, so who better to have as a partner than
the surly man who can’t seem to keep his eyes off her?

Everything they love is hanging in the balance, but neither
James nor Sadie can be prepared for what they’ll face next.
Or how facing it together could be the undoing they’re
desperate to avoid.

Okay we were spoiled fucking rotten with these two narrators. James and Lucy absolutely killed this audiobook. As soon as I saw it was them, I literally did a happy dance.

Who would’ve thought I’d have a thing for redheads? I mean, I guess if he’s got tattoos, a beard, and rides a motorcycle, what’s not to like? I feel like that man is a ride I would not survive in the best way. And I love how he was paired up with Sadie. It’s kind of opposites attract, a little grumpy sunshine, but it was done tastefully and done right and never felt over the top. I really loved their dynamic and their banter it was playful, funny, and just worked.

I kind of wish we got a little more from them, though. I feel like a lot of the story focused on June and Theo, which of course I don’t mind because A Deal with the Reaper is such an amazing book and I loved seeing those same characters again. I just felt like the spotlight was mostly on them, and I wanted more from James and Sadie because their chemistry and connection were everything.

The connection to the plot in book one broke my fucking heart. We get more information about what happened to Theo’s daughter, who is also James’s niece, and that storyline was really fucking good. I was literally on the edge of my seat. I wanted to jump into the book and get revenge for that sweet little baby girl myself 😭😭😭 I actually love that Theo and James have a connection outside of the club since Theo was dating James’s sister. They really do have a brotherly relationship and I love it.

Something about a motorcycle gang just does something to me. I’m telling you, it stems from my love for Sons of Anarchy. I used to sit my ass down and binge-watch that show from sunup to sundown, baby. I love the gang activity. I love the danger. I love the men. I love the bikes. I love the roughness. It’s just all around a good time for me.

James and Sadie were so fucking hot together btw 🥵🥵 and I loved that James was all broody, “touch her and you die” vibes.

This was a really solid book and I enjoyed it so much. I love the Easter eggs and all of the other couples. I’m super excited to see if they all get books 🤭

A Sanctuary for Sin was such an addictive audiobook experience. The voice acting was done in duet by Lucy Rivers and James Cassidy, and they completely nailed the emotions, tension, and chemistry between the characters. I loved the FMC and MMC so much, their playful banter and connection made it impossible to stop listening. The plot kept me hooked, and the spicy scenes were flawlessly executed! A fantastic listen! I hope we get more audiobooks from this author!! 💜

3.5⭐️ 3.5🌶️ biiiig fan of June, our FMC... and apparently BIIIIG fan of an MMC who is compared to looking like Tormund Giantsbane from GoT lol

plot-wise i was really interested in the whole poison garden thing and i was excited that we got to see it in action a few times. i wasn't a huge fan of the undercover stuff just because i could tell early on that it would only blow up in everyone's faces... but i will admit it was highly entertaining.

i think i liked this slightly better than book one even if i can also admit that this didn't necessarily have the same level of emotional depth as book one did. idk i think i just enjoyed these characters as individuals more, and then i also enjoyed getting to know both the motorcycle club and the girl friend group a little better too. i can't tell for sure who's story will be next but i will for sure be picking up the next book no matter who it's about (but plz be Ace omg)

A Sanctuary of Sin 🎧
By: Madison Lawson
Performed by: Lucy Rivers & James Cassidy

MC romance? Yes please and thank you! Book two equally as good as book 1. And yes, give me book 3! I can see the set up for it, and I’m all in.
Getting some answers on Shiloh’s death, it’s great and all but still gut wrenching.
In the midst you think James and Sadie are building a bond and relationship, but are they the only ones?? Smooth little teaser plot twist with that one!
MC’s to me, have always been the best form of found family there is. And Madison Lawson writes them the way they are supposed to be written. She’s had me hooked since book one. Can’t wait to see what’s next. And will Soot be involved? 😉
James Cassidy as always gives a stellar performance with all the characters he embodied. With accents and all, it was a job well done! Lucy Rivers held her own along side him.
Great job to all who brought this story to life. Highly recommend!

Grumpy Biker Men, “Good Boy” Praise & Audio Perfection — Madison Lawson Absolutely Owned Me

Madison Lawson has officially ruined me in the best possible way. Receiving a Beta ALC of Sanctuary of Sin before the narrator announcement already had me excited… but finding out it was James Cassidy and Lucy Rivers? Immediate emotional collapse. My AirPods were fighting for their lives the entire time. 🫠🔥

This second book in the Saints of Purgatory series somehow manages to raise the stakes, deepen the world, AND deliver one of my favourite audiobook experiences ever. The way June and Theo’s continuing arc is woven into Sadie and James’ story was honestly genius. Everything feels connected, emotional, and so much bigger than just one couple.

And James Cassidy as James Hartley? UNREAL. His portrayal of the gruff, emotionally guarded biker man was perfection. The accents, the emotion, the tension in his voice… absolutely immaculate. He didn’t just narrate James — he became him. I’m still recovering from some of the things that man said in my headphones.

Then there’s Lucy Rivers bringing Sadie to life with the perfect mix of sass, humour, vulnerability, and complete chaotic energy. Sadie’s pop culture references had me laughing constantly, especially with James never understanding a single one of them. But underneath the humour, Sadie is such a badass in her own right, and I loved that James respected her strength even while being terrified of losing her.

The grumpy/sunshine dynamic was already incredible, but the switch dynamic? Madison Lawson, I owe you therapy bills. We love a dominant biker man, but the fact he also needs to be HER good boy sometimes? Elite. Exceptional. Life-changing, honestly.

The chemistry between Sadie and James was addictive, the danger and suspense kept me hooked, and the emotional connection between the characters made this impossible to stop listening to.

This audiobook was funny, intense, emotional, spicy, and completely unforgettable.

Read it. Listen to it. Do both at the same time if you value your sanity a little less than I do.

I listened to ‘A Sanctuary for Sin’ and it pulled me back into the world of the Saints of Purgatory fast and honestly, I think I loved this one even more than the first book… that’s a rare thing!

James and Sadie were EVERYTHING. I’m such a sucker for the grumpy/sunshine dynamic and the tension between them was addictive from the start. James is carrying the weight of the club on his shoulders and Sadie’s chaotic optimism somehow manages to crack through all of that darkness in the best way possible, and her pop culture references are just so so good. Their chemistry felt natural, intense and emotional instead of just surface level spice and story tension.

What really stood out to me was how balanced the story felt. It had the danger, suspense and gritty MC atmosphere I wanted, but it also gave us emotional depth and characters that genuinely felt layered and totally fell for. Sadie especially surprised me… she wasn’t just comic relief or ‘the cheerful girl’. She was brave, messy, loyal and way more capable than people gave her credit for. I enjoyed getting to know more of the characters more.

The pacing kept me hooked in the entire time and I loved getting deeper into the Saints of Purgatory world. The stakes felt higher, the emotions hit harder and there were multiple moments where I genuinely didn’t know what was going to happen next and was worried for characters.

If you love dark MC romance with emotional tension, dangerous men, found family vibes and a couple that completely consumes the page whenever they’re together, then this book absolutely delivers it all!!

Madison Lawson somehow makes chaos, violence, romance and vulnerability blend together perfectly, and now I’m desperate for more from this series. The Saints of Purgatory world is becoming one of those series where I immediately need the next book the second I finish the current one.

A Sanctuary for Sin was another addictive instalment in this series and I genuinely could not stop reading once things started escalating. Madison Lawson has created characters that feel messy, loyal, traumatised and fiercely protective in a way that makes you completely invested in all of them.

Sadie was such a standout FMC for me. She’s funny, chaotic, loyal to a fault and hides so much vulnerability behind humour and confidence. I loved her ‘soft rage’ moments and the way she’d do absolutely anything for the people she loves. James, meanwhile, is pure tortured soul. The obsessive energy was palpable early on though👀. The slow burn between them definitely takes its time, but once it ignites… wow. The tension, the protectiveness, the emotional moments. It all of hit perfectly.

This book leans heavily into the darker gang/crime storyline for a good chunk of the story, which sometimes made the romance feel slightly secondary early on, but honestly the suspense and emotional stakes kept me hooked the entire time. By the final stretch I was stressed, angry, emotional and fully ready to personally fight half the South Five myself.

Dark, emotional, rage-inducing, addictive and full of ride-or-die loyalty. Another 5⭐ read from Madison Lawson.

I also very Kindly received an ALC and while the Narrators haven’t been announced yet, I will say, they were chosen perfectly! Their performances were fantastic and I highly recommend adding the Audiobook to your TBR.

ALC (audio) Review!
Grumpy, traumatized VP of the club biker James looks into his Prez’s old lady’s best friend to ensure that she is no threat to his club. Sassy, sunshine botanical baddie Sadie becomes a problem to his sanity by trying to help them gain intel on the rival MC.

First of all: Mmmmmm James Cassidy! He can say all those naughty things in my ear ALL DAY! 🥵🫠 great choice for grumpy biker man!
Lucy Rivers did a great job delivering all Sadie’s snark & sass! And I’d be her “good boy” too (and I’m a 100% straight woman!)

I loved the characters dynamics… of course the grumpy/sunshine is always great, but the little things make it even better. All Sadie’s pop culture references had me cackling, and his failure to get them just made it even better! How she is actually a badass poisoner, and he lets her be a baddie even though he’s terrified of loosing her.

I can’t wait to see what comes next! And I hope it’s Ev & Ace! And honestly I still need Luna’s story!

🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
The Switch dynamic was fantastic! We always love a dominant man, but the fact that he needs to be her good boy sometimes was a wonderful change of pace! And the degrading praise he gives?! 🥵🥵🥵🫠🫠

When this is the book dedication, I know it's going to be good.

"To everyone who has ever felt weak. Let them underestimate you. Then show them just how deadly you can be."

The first book in the series , A Deal With the Reaper was my first Motorcycle Club book and this follow up did not disappoint. While this is a dark romance, I love that the author gives us a very prominent story line that has to do with The Saints and their business along with the relationship aspect. I was so excited we got so much of June and Theo from the first book. I love Sadie and James and how they complement each other. I love that Sadie comes into her own and realizes her place in this world.. James carries so much and was so closed off, but I loved how Sadie snuck her way in.

Safe to say I’ll be sticking with this series to see where it goes next (if we get more )

Thank you to Madison Lawson for the opportunity to read this ARC!

I am gutted I really wanted to like this book…

The first 30% was basically just high-speed recap of the first book, but from James and Sadie’s point of view to see what they were up to, but the time jumps made it quite dull…

Sadly, after four days of trying and I couldn’t complete this book, on the first book was so good I really wanted to like it… maybe that’s my own fault for having such high expectations of it

I immersive read this one and I loved it! It's duet narration by James Cassidy and Lucy Rivers, and they do an incredible job at bringing Sadie & James to life!

I loved book 1 but I think this one is my favourite!!

I love how obsessed James is with Sadie, even if he's trying to tell himself that he isn't 🤭

This book starts off with the first part being a parallel timeline of book 1, but from Sadie & James's POVs, which I love!! We get to see a whole extra depth to a story that we already love!

I wasn't expecting to love James as much as I did, but he surprised me in the best way 😍

I cannot wait for the next book in this series!

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧

I was so excited to dive back into the world and characters of saints of purgatory and this book gave everything I wanted and more!

I absolutely loved book one and this one picked up right where things left off but with following James and Sadie and how they play into everything that is happening. I loved seeing more of James, especially with how things ended in book one and all of the trouble and drama that was happening in the club. Seeing how scared he is to open his heart and let people close because of the fear of something happening to them was so heart breaking to see. He and Theo have both gone through so much loss and pain and seeing how that has affected him really helped open up a new side of him that we didn't get from book one. Seeing that continue to effect him and grow, especially with the things that are revealed in this story was so great to see. It really helped to give more on his story and the backstory of Theo and the club that we didn't get in book one.

Then there's Sadie who is such a ride of ride type of person. She is quite literally the type of friend you call when you need to hide a dead body. Sadie would go to hell and back for the people she loves and cares about and has such a big heart for helping others. She is scared of getting hurt because of her past history and trauma but she doesn't let that define her. I love how strong she is, plus the fact she grows special things that help others is just *chefs kiss* so perfect!

Sadie and James together though? 😮‍💨I am obsessed! I loved seeing their grumpy x sunshine type of relationship play out and her constantly throwing out pop culture references. They both balance and reach each other so well that they always knew what the other person needed.

This audiobook is hands down one of my favorites! James & Lucy are easily one of my new favorite narration duos. Between the tension, action, emotion and spice these two had me feeling all of the feels!

if you enjoy:
- VP of the MC club
- FMC is a gardener (of special sorts)
- Touch her and die
- Grumpy x Sunshine
- Pop culture references
- Tension
- Gang Wars
- Action
- Grief & Healing
- Found Family
- Spiceee 🌶️🌶️🌶️

This is a book (and audiobook) you need to check out!

Thank you Madison for this ALC! 💕

🎧 ALC BETA : REVIEW: A Sanctuary for Sin by Madison Lawson 🎧

Getting back into the Saints of Purgatory world felt way too easy, like slipping into complete chaos and somehow feeling right at home. Madison Lawson has created a world that feels gritty, dangerous, and emotionally messy in the best possible way, and this book only made me more obsessed with it.

James and Sadie completely owned this story for me. I’m such a sucker for a grumpy/sunshine pairing, but this wasn’t just cute banter and tension, it had depth. James carries so much weight on his shoulders, and Sadie’s relentless optimism and quiet strength challenged him in a way that felt natural and deeply emotional. Together, they were intense, complicated, and impossible not to root for.

What I loved most about Madison Lawson’s writing here is how effortlessly she balances chaos with vulnerability. One moment I was fully stressed about what disaster was coming next, and the next I was completely invested in these characters emotionally.

The audio performance deserves its own moment because Lucy Rivers and James Cassidy brought very different strengths to this story, and together they made it incredibly engaging.

Lucy Rivers gave Sadie the warmth, energy, and emotional grounding the character needed. She brought out Sadie’s humor and heart beautifully, making her easy to connect with and adding a softness that balanced the darker tone of the story.

But James Cassidy... he was on another level entirely. His performance as James was nothing short of outstanding. The grit in his voice, the emotional control, the intensity he carried into every scene... it was magnetic. He gave James a weight and presence that felt effortless, and every line from him pulled me in deeper.

Together, they made the listening experience immersive, but James Cassidy especially left a lasting impression. This is exactly the kind of performance that reminds me why a great narrator can elevate an already strong story into something unforgettable.

Duet Narration audio with James Cassidy and Lucy Rivers - a great duo and James was the perfect choice for James! You could feel his emotions coming through when James was breaking down, worried, scared, etc. Same with Lucy you could feel the tension and the turmoil not only between the two but between the rest of the characters too. Like the confrontation between her and Bowie? Can't rave enough about the two!

We first met Sadie in A Deal With the Reaper and I fell in love with her then! Seeing how fierce of a friend she is and that she accepts June for every part of who she is made her such a great character. James finds himself drawn to her and is determined to keep her out of the war between the Saints and the South Five. Sadie has other ideas though and gives James a run for his money.

I loved seeing that Sadie also had a darker side to her and that she was helping June even if June wasn't aware of it. All of the pop culture references were also fantastic - especially the multiple references to Supernatural! Seeing James confused with the references was also a great source of entertainment - especially knowing he's a Nickelback fan haha The banter between the two was also *chefs kiss* I love that Sadie didn't take any of James surliness and was just determined to break through and keep being herself.

The big reveals at the end had me feeling for the entire crew - and seeing James and Theo's reactions to it? Multiple punches right to the heart. I was so glad they got the revenge they were looking for. Very curious to see if we'll get another book with Evelyn - I am definitely intrigued after the way everything ended!

Thank you to the author for providing me an ALC of the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

This review is very difficult for me to write and I’ve struggled on it for days. I’ve decided not to include a star rating for this read and will break down the elements instead. I was very excited for this book after loving the first one.

Since it’s an ALC- I will start with the audio production and performances by the narrators were outstanding.

The reason I am struggling: this book takes place in 2025 and contains MANY references to Harry Potter. The first time, the FMC does at least mention that they hate that JKR is a TERF and ruined the series after making the reference. But then proceeds to nickname the MMC “Weasley” for his red hair. And there’s a scene where MMC’s friends make an HP reference to him that he doesn’t get that then leads to them saying something like “she calls you ‘Weasley’ and you still haven’t watched those movies?” And also talk about reading the books. As someone who grew up with HP being extremely important to them, I do understand and feel the sadness of losing it. But I just can’t condone any part of it and I think giving it this kind of spotlight is unacceptable and insensitive.

If there hadn’t been all of the HP stuff in the book, this would have been an easy five star rating because the plot and the spice were otherwise excellent. Watching James fall for Sadie was adorable. And the author definitely knows how to write a hot sex scene.

Audiobook 👌🏼👌🏼
Spice 👌🏼👌🏼
Plot 🫪
Book 2 in series

First, let me start by saying while this is technically an interconnected standalone, in that it involves a new couple being book 2 in this series, you can’t really read this book without the first and expect to know what’s going on. The story is connected significantly to the events in book 1 - “A Deal with the Reaper.”

A Deal with the Reaper was a 5 ⭐️ audiobook experience bc the plot and the relationship between the MC’s (Theo and June) was so well developed! Unfortunately, Sadie and James didn’t hold the same spark-chemistry wise. When they do finally hook up, at least, the spice is very good! Madison knows how to write spice.

The end of the story definitely makes it clear that there is more that is left to tell with respect to the overall plot, even though Sadie and James story is complete for now. Hopefully the clock gets more intriguing as the remainder of the books go on.

The first quarter of the book was confusing and boring. Sadie was useless trying to help the Saints (except for the end, when she did what she was actually good at). I think her character and reasonings weren't fleshed out enough. James' description of how he perceived her made even less sense. Venus flytrap and a cliff? (Am I remembering this right?) But everything else I enjoyed, it was a good balance between their romance and the gang war plotline. I liked Sadie and James more than June and Theo from the first book.
