Mountain River MC #3
Ridge's Viper
Rain
My father has always been my entire life. So when he passes, I am ready to leave this town in the past and find a brand new start.
The only problem is my father’s last will and testament requires I marry for my inheritance. Not some random man, no. He wants me to marry Ridge, my once crush turned adversary.
I tell myself I’m not going to do it. That I don’t need the inheritance, but the thought of losing everything that was once home has me spiraling.
Could a marriage of convenience really be that bad?
Ridge
Mustang was like a father to me so with his death brings pain like I’ve never felt.
What’s even worse is that he asked me to make a sacrifice for him by marrying his daughter. The same woman who has despised me since I ignored her existence when she was sixteen.
She’s not sixteen anymore though. Now she is a woman, one that slowly has clawed her way under my skin.
Marrying her should be a hardship, so why does it feel like an opportunity instead?

I’ll make sure she never has to have a girl dinner again unless she wants to.
I’ve been waiting for Ridge and Rain’s book after seeing their back and forth in previous books and their story didn’t disappoint.
Cala Riley started this book with a gut punch and I was nervous for what I was going to be in for.
I absolutely loved that Ridge was a protector. He was there for her even when they didn’t understand what he was doing, pulling her out of parties as a teen. He made sure that Rain always had food cooked, even if he wasn’t there.
Rain’s sassiness kept Ridge on his toes and I loved that but when she finally gave in and showed her softer side, Ridge and Rain were perfect for each other.
I love this world and I can’t wait to see where it takes us next.

We are back with the Mountain River MC series, and this book is a treat. I loved Rain and Ridge, these two give us a ride. She with her quick wit, strength, and independence. I loved her ability to stand her ground. She has buried her grief deep; she loved her father. His last wishes and protecting his legacy are a heavy weight on her heart.
Rain and Ridge have a history, unresolved feelings, and now a marriage of convenience. Ridge is a patient man, and can wait Rain out, her walls will come down.
I was pulled into the story, this world is getting better and better. The writing duo of Cala & Riley always give us the story we did not know we needed with plenty of angst, banter. While Rain and Ridge also give us the push/pull as a warm up. These two stand on opposite sides of the line for spite.
Suspense is complementary to story, never too much. The twists, turns, and mystery give us something more to keep turning the pages. I always finish a Cala Riley book wanting more.
Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

This is book three in the Mountain River MC, and I have been waiting for this book ever since Wolf's Songbird ended.
Rain and Ridge's book started off really emotional, and you understand Rain's anger and grief.
Ridge was absolutely patient and understanding, he was also so gone for Rain that he would follow her anywhere.
The development of their relationship was amazing, the spice was spicing. And the loyalty and trust 👌🏻
Yak...I can't wait to read his book, but I'm also going to miss him with this crew 🥲

4.5⭐
Rain and Ridge's story was, without a doubt, one of my most anticipated books in the series—and it completely lived up to the hype.
Cala Riley once again delivered an emotional, beautifully balanced MC romance that had me hooked from the very first page. Between the marriage of convenience, years of unresolved feelings, heartfelt moments, and just the right amount of suspense, I couldn't put it down.
The relationship between Rain and Ridge was everything I hoped it would be. Their history adds so much depth to every interaction, and I loved watching the walls between them slowly come down. The progression of their relationship felt natural and believable, making every emotional breakthrough all the more rewarding.
Rain was such a fantastic heroine. She's fiercely independent, sharp-tongued, and never afraid to stand her ground, but beneath all that strength is someone carrying immense grief. Watching her navigate the loss of her father while trying to protect the life he built was incredibly moving. Her emotional journey felt authentic, and I loved seeing her slowly allow herself to lean on someone else.
And Ridge... he absolutely stole my heart. He's patient, caring, protective, and so incredibly devoted to Rain. Rather than trying to control the situation, he gives her the space to make her own choices while quietly showing her, through his actions, that she's never alone. His love for her is steady, unwavering, and impossible not to fall for.
The emotional aspect of this book was definitely one of its biggest strengths. There were moments that genuinely tugged at my heartstrings, balanced perfectly with lighter scenes, witty banter, and the strong sense of family that makes this series so special.
The suspense subplot also kept me invested throughout. If I had one tiny criticism—and the only reason this wasn't a full five-star read for me—it's that I would have liked the resolution surrounding the person targeting Ridge to have been a little more developed. It felt slightly too quick compared to the build-up, and I personally would have loved to see that storyline explored a bit further. But that's purely a matter of personal preference.
Overall, this was another fantastic addition to the Mountain River MC series. Emotional, heartfelt, romantic, and impossible to put down, it reminded me once again why Cala Riley has become one of my favorite MC romance authors

ARC Review of Ridge's Viper Book 3 in the Mountain River MC Series by Cala Riley. This book is part of an interconnected series but can be read as a standalone. This is a 5 star read for me. I have loved every book by Cala Riley I have read so far and this one is no exception. I absolutely loved this book it gave me all the feels. I love Motorcycle Club romances and this one was so good, add in marriage of convenience which is one of my favorite tropes and the tension of enemies to lover’s and it did not disappoint. This is Rain and Ridge's story. I love the banter and tension between them. I love Ridge he is such a good guy and I like Rain but she does annoy me at times. This is a slow burn, spicy, small town, 9 year age gap, forced proximity, found family, enemies to lovers, marriage of convenience, motorcycle club romance. Set in Colorado. Ridge is 33 and Rain is 24, they have known each other a long time but she has hated him since she was 16. Ridge and Mustang who is Rain’s father are both members of Mountain River MC. Mustang had taken Ridge under his wing when he joined the MC and is like a father to him. Rain’s father was sick and just passed away. Mustang left Rain his house and a lot of money in a trust but left a stipulation with it. To get her inheritance she has to marry a man of her father’s predetermined choosing within a month of the reading of the will and stay married to him for 2 years then she can have access to the trust and permanently the house. Ridge is the man her father has chosen for her to marry. Rain is furious she can’t believe her father would do this since she can’t stand Ridge. She considers Ridge her sworn enemy but her dad doesn’t want her to be alone, he wants her to be taken care of, and he has always wanted her and Ridge to be together. Ridge has always liked Rain he loves how feisty she is but he never acted on his feelings because he didn’t want it to mess up his relationship with Mustang. Now that they’re married and living together he thinks maybe they can actually be something. I love when Rain finally gets out of her own way and gives in to the chemistry between her and Ridge. I love watching their relationship and feelings toward each other change. I definitely recommend this book.

I received an eARC for my honest opinion.
There are some books that grab your attention right away, and then there are the ones that stay with you long after you've finished the last page. Ridge's Viper was one of those books for me. I found myself completely invested in Ridge's journey and couldn't wait to see how his story would unfold.
What I loved most was seeing the different layers of Ridge come to life. He's strong, protective, and fiercely loyal, but underneath all of that is someone carrying his own fears and struggles. Watching him slowly let someone into his heart felt natural and believable. I found myself smiling during the sweet moments, holding my breath during the intense ones, and rooting for him every step of the way.
One thing Cala Riley does so well is making the Mountain River MC feel like more than just a motorcycle club. It feels like a family. The brotherhood, the loyalty, and the way everyone has each other's backs made me feel like I was right there alongside them. The supporting characters added so much to the story, and I loved catching up with familiar faces while getting to know Ridge even better.
The mix of romance, danger, and emotion kept me turning the pages. Just when I thought I had things figured out, something would happen that pulled me even deeper into the story. But what really stayed with me wasn't just the action—it was the heart behind it all. The trust, healing, and hope woven throughout made this book so much more than a typical MC romance.
This was an easy five-star read for me. If you're looking for a motorcycle club romance with a protective hero, genuine emotional depth, and characters that feel like real people, I highly recommend picking this one up.
I would like to thank Cala Riley for the opportunity to review this book.

Okay so I went into Ridge's Viper expecting your typical MC romance and honestly it delivered exactly what I wanted, lol. Forced marriage + enemies to lovers is such a fun combo and Cala Riley makes it work here — the tension between Ridge and the heroine is so good, especially since they've got that whole "used to hate each other" backstory going on. Watching them get stuck living together and slowly not being able to fight the chemistry anymore was just *chef's kiss*.
The slow burn is real though, if you're impatient like me there were a few spots in the middle where I was like "just kiss already," but honestly it makes the payoff hit way harder. The MC world building felt solid too, you get that gritty biker club vibe without it feeling over the top or cheesy.
Only reason I'm not giving it a full 5 is the pacing dipped a little for me in a couple chapters and I wanted just a touch more depth on some of the side characters. But overall this was a really fun, emotional read and if you're into that forced proximity/marriage of convenience trope with a side of angst, you're gonna have a good time with this one. Definitely picking up the rest of the Mountain River MC series.

Loved it!
Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Trope: age gap, Marriage of convenience
Angst: 😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥
Ridge's Viper Is a quick and easy read with tons of action and plenty of romance. The heroine is coerced into a marriage of convenience with a man she once had a (unreciprocated) crush on. Needless to say, she has some feelings about it and lets it be known, lol. The chemistry between these 2 characters was off the charts and the banter was fantastic.

We finally get Rain and Ridge's story, and it did not disappoint.
Rain's father has been her entire life. He kept the seriousness of his illness to himself, sharing the truth only with the club. Especially his mentee, Ridge.
Knowing that Rain will leave after he passes, he asks Ridge to marry his daughter. But Ridge doesn't think he's serious.
Until Mustang's will is read.
Rain is ready to leave it all behind, but Ridge convinces her to give the marriage a try.
Now he'll work on keeping his wife forever.
Thanks so much to the authors for this ARC to review.

Ridge has always looked out for Rain, swooping in and saving her from parties before the cops show up, rescuing her from herself if it got out of hand. Even if Mustang wasn't his mentor, he has always watched over Rain; ever since she was a stubborn 17 year old with a crush that he stamped down immediately.
That rejection turned to hatred for him over the years, but he would never overstep that boundary or let harm come to her just because she was a rebellious teen who was wild and free.
Viper is the perfect nickname for Rain, she has a wicked tongue and will strike when threatened. When Ridge rejected her all those years ago, she turned that crush into hate, avoiding him at all costs and refusing to get to know him any further, painting him as the bad guy. Now that she's older, and with the revelations of her father's will and stipulations, she sees everything from a different perspective; realising just how much Ridge has been there for her over the years.
Ridge knows about her likes and interests, whether it's her favourite food or a habit she has. He takes an interest in everything she does, saved her from countless situations that could've turned ugly and always seems to know what she needs before she does.
While at first, Rain is furious with the stipulations in her father's will, she decides to make the most of it. Mustang always knew they'd be perfect together, he just had to force their hands to get them to see it themselves.
This one had me tearing up at the beginning, hit me harder than expected.
Be sure to read the bonus epilogue with this book! Some key information is revealed that sets up the next series with our next MC man.

Sass and patience.
This is another great edition to this series. Rain and Ridge have some pain and loss to get through, before they find their HEA, but this club and the found family aspects make that journey lighter.
Mustang's passing (and the stipulations of his will) toss Rain into a frustrating situation, and Ridge is patient enough to allow her to adjust.
The pages turned themselves and I enjoyed the chemistry between these two.
I recommend reading in order for the best experience, and cannot wait for more from this creative author duo.

I am down bad for Adam “Ridge” Harris! This man is everything! He has a sweetness to him that goes feral in the bedroom.
Rain is the ultimate sass queen! She dishes out banter and jabs like no other and I love her! Underneath it all is a heart of gold though.
These two were forced together after her father, and Ridge’s mentor in the Mountain River MC, passes away and his will says they must marry for 2 years in order for Rain to get her inheritance and Ridge to get her father’s most prized motorcycle.
She hates him. She thinks. No she does. Right? You can’t resist the Ridge charm for long!
He is older, wiser and hopeful she will become his in every way he wants before the 2 years ends.
I couldn’t get enough of these two!
As in all MC books, there is something trying to take them down, but I loved the twist on why they were after Ridge. I wish we saw more of what happened to the villain in the end.
Thanks to Cala Riley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Ridge’s Viper by Cala Riley is book three in the Mountain River MC series. This is a marriage of convenience, enemies to lovers, age gap romance between Adam Harris aka Ridge and Mustang’s daughter Rain Wilson. We know from the end of Wolf’s Songbird there was going to be trouble ahead for Ridge. He knows Rain won’t make it easy for him but he is up for the challenge.
Mustang took Ridge under his wing and became a father figure to him when he joined the Mountain River MC. He showed him what the brotherhood was about and considered him a son. Mustang needs Ridge to help his daughter Rain as his cancer has spread. Rain has hated Ridge since he rejected her teenage advances so he doesn’t hold out much hope. To him she is gorgeous, funny, feisty and smart but will always be Mustang’s daughter and in the MC, family is off limits unless you get permission from the brother.
Rain only has her dad and is a true daddy’s girl. Life has been hard since her father decided against anymore treatment and she is distraught when he dies. Ridge dashes round to comfort her along with all the MC. She is surprised how kind and helpful he is and at the funeral sees what her father meant to him.
Ridge knows her whole world is going to change but knows deep down what he has agreed to was the right decision. Things explode when Mustang’s lawyer tells her about the will. Ridge is struggling with his grief and intends to keep his promises to Mustang but is still surprised at all the conditions in the will. Rain is shocked and can’t believe what her dad has done. He wanted her taken care of but the stipulations are unreasonable. Neither of them agrees with marriage, Ridge thought Mustang was joking and Rain furious no one warned her. She desperately wants to walk away but her home is full of memories. Is she willing to give up everything or could she marry the guy she hates. Does she honour her dad’s wishes and get what is rightfully hers. Everyone tries to tell her Ridge is a good guy and loyal so will she give him a chance to convince her to be his wife.
Mustang didn’t want her to leave Boulder after he died so wanted Ridge to show her she will always be part of the MC. He has put Ridge under a lot of pressure because he wanted them to be together as perfect for each other. Ridge made a vow to Mustang he would always protect and take care of her so whether she likes it or not, he will always be there for her. To him she is worth fighting for and making the sacrifices even if his brothers are shocked at the turn of events.
Mustangs methods were a little unconventional and she’s angry but starts to wonder if she should trust his judgment. Rain sees Ridge as bossy, arrogant and extremely possessive but as she gets to know him properly her views about him change. He knows far more about her than she thought. It may be a marriage of convenience but he takes his vows seriously. I loved the backstory of how over the years Ridge had looked out for her and kept her out of trouble. Little did she know she had a guardian angel watching over her. Slowly she succumbs to his patient and devoted ways. She’s shocked by his commitment to her when their marriage is supposed to be fake. The Mountain River brothers make her feel like she really belongs and Aspen and Maggie are so supportive that I actually changed my mind about Aspen. I loved all the fun from chatterbox Yak and how he was involved with Ridge getting his road name.
Panther sends Ridge and a few brothers to help the Devil’s Den but this starts off a series of events with dangerous consequences for Ridge when he has a run in with a detective. Things quickly escalate with threats, harassment, other incidents which includes implicating Rain. I loved her attitude towards him and how she defended her husband and the club. She showed him how she lives up to her nickname of Viper. There is some family drama for Rain when the truth about her mother is revealed and she finds out a secret her father had kept from her. The twist for the detective plot was good but the conclusion lost momentum and seemed to fizzle out. I can only presume it will continue in the next book Eagle’s Sky.
Can Ridge make the sassy Rain fall in love with him. Will she overcome her issues and accept her father was right about them. The epilogue is two years later and Rain is given more instructions from her dad so we get an emotional ending to their story. Do get the Bonus Scene about the MC’s trip to Ontario to scatter Mustang’s ashes but be prepare for some sad teasers for Yak’s book. Looking forward to that and Eagle’s Story.

Looking forward to that and Eagle’s Story.

trigger warnings will be at the bottom of this review, to avoid spoilers
the loss of a loved one because of cancer (this occurs on page and plays a significant role in the story), grief, mentions of cartel activity involving guns and drugs, cheating resulting in a baby (not between MCs), parental abandonment, unlawful activity by a cop (more detailed list will be included at the bottom of my review, these activities play a significant role to the story)
The forced proximity, marriage of necessity, enemies to lovers kind of match I CRAVE! All the banter, all the tension, all the soft spots. At the root of it, it’s a story of grief and healing. Ridge and Rain are trying to wrap their heads and hearts around a heavy loss, and are tossed into a situation they never wanted. Ridge may have been more agreeable, but Rain was absolutely against the idea of being stuck with him. They already had an uneasy, unsteady, definitely unfriendly relationship. Rain is a naturally a black cat personality. Suffering loss makes it that much bigger and louder. Full honesty? I worried her and I were going to have issues. The only issues we had was that I felt like I was looking in a mirror sometimes. (But I did truly like her as a character.) Especially since she drove Ridge crazy, in all the best ways!
While it definitely sits in its own series, it introduced/connected to the next MC series perfectly. (Kings of Anarchy, Property of Yak) Plus, it carries the continued connection with Devil’s Den.
(I was annoyed for about five seconds with the ending. I felt like the epilogue came out of nowhere. Personally, the dirty *** didn’t get enough of a focus after the fact. It felt unfinished. But my annoyance didn’t last long, because I honestly was more focused on Ridge and Rain anyway.)
My Favorite Quotes:
• “If you agree to be mine, then you will be mine. I will be yours.
• “I hope you know that I’m going to make you fall in love with me.”
• “This is the realest thing in my life.”
• “When I’m between these pretty legs of yours, you will call me my given name.”
• “What I want is to scream your name so loud the neighbors know it. Think you can do that?”
• “Show me how you punish your wife.”
• “Once I have you, all of you, I won’t ever want to give you back.”
• “You are my reason for everything.”
• “You beg so pretty for me, baby.”

RIDGE’S VIPER is the third instalment in Cala Riley’s contemporary, adult MOUNTAIN RIVER MC erotic, MC romance series. This is thirty-three year old, MC member Adam ‘Ridge’ Harris, and twenty-four year old, Rain Wilson’s story line. RIDGE’S VIPER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Ridge and Rain) RIDGE’S VIPER focuses on the marriage of convenience between our story line couple. Approximately seven years earlier, a seventeen year old Rain Wilson tried and failed to seduce our story line hero. Upon his rejection, Rain made a point to hate the man with whom she would fall in love. Fast forward to present day, Rain’s father Mustang has passed away, and the reading of his will reveals a caveat-in order to inherit her father’s wealth, she must marry Adam ‘Ridge’ Harris within thirty days. Despite her best efforts to remain angry, Rain finds herself falling for the man who once broke her heart but all is not well, a vendetta from the past, threatens our story line couple, and the Mountain River MC.
The world building focuses on betrayal and vengeance as Rain and Ridge find themselves the target of a personal vendetta. Threats to the MC, as well as to our story line couple culminate when dirty law enforcement aggressively take aim for sins of the past.
The relationship between Ridge and Rain is tempestuous. Ridge has love our heroine for as lone as he can remember but years before, the age difference was a hinderance, and in rejection our heroine, Ridge created a woman who struggle to move on from the past. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate.
There is a large ensemble cast of energetic and colorful secondary and supporting characters including several members of the Mountain Ridge MC, law enforcement, attorneys and co-workers.
RIDGE’S VIPER is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, family and friendships, forgiveness and love. The character driven premise is emotional, dramatic and edgy; the romance is seductive and impassioned; the characters are determined and charismatic.

I am absolutely devouring Carly Riley's Mountain River MC series. This talented duo continue to impress me with every book, delivering romance that is packed with heart, emotion, and unforgettable characters. Each instalment pulls me further into the Mountain River world, and Ridge's Viper is another fantastic addition to a series that just keeps getting better.
A marriage of convenience in an MC romance? I was hooked before I even turned the first page. Knowing these authors, I expected an emotional rollercoaster, and they delivered every single time.
Rain is the daughter of a beloved club member, Mustang. When he passes away, his final wishes set in motion a chain of events that changes everything. Ridge, one of the club brothers, looked up to Mustang as both a mentor and a father figure. Rain believes she's finally about to leave her old life behind, only to discover that Mustang's will comes with one life-changing condition—she must marry Ridge.
The problem? These two have never exactly been friends. Their history is filled with tension, misunderstandings, and enough sparks to light a fire. Forced into a marriage neither of them expected, life quickly becomes far more complicated... and a whole lot hotter.
The slow-burn romance is simply perfection. Every glance, every heated exchange, and every moment of reluctant attraction builds into sizzling chemistry that is impossible to resist. I absolutely loved the moment Ridge starts calling Rain "Viper"—it's the perfect nickname, and their banter is witty, sharp, and full of undeniable attraction.
As always, the Mountain River MC family is one of the highlights of the story. The brotherhood, loyalty, and found-family bond add so much heart to the romance.
I've realised that every time I review a book in this series, I end up declaring it my favourite... only for the next one to come along and steal that title! So this time I'm keeping quiet. What I will say is that Carly Riley have once again delivered an addictive, emotional, and seriously swoon-worthy romance that has left me desperate for the next book.
If you love the emotional depth of Lani Lynn Vale, the addictive MC worlds of Kristen Ashley, or the passion and family dynamics of Jeanne St. James, then the Mountain River MC series deserves a place on your TBR.
What to Expect:
🏍️ Motorcycle Club Romance
💍 Marriage of Convenience

🔥 Slow Burn Romance

💥 Sizzling Chemistry
😏 Witty Banter
🤍 Found Family
🛡️ Protective Hero
🥹 Emotional Romance

I just love Cala and Riley books so much. I’m always so entertained and so invested in the story and I was definitely waiting for this one after the last book left off on kinda a cliffhanger. Facebook was so well written the chemistry, banter and a little angst was so good I couldn’t get enough of them
Rain’s father has been sick for a while so in his will for her to get everything, he wanted for her to marry Ridge because he just knew that they were meant to be together. My heart broke for rain in this book she was going through a lot while also grieving her father. Rain is such a sweetheart. I loved her since the beginning of the series. She’s just so amazing.
Ridge and Rain has been at each others throat for a while, so the first proximity and the marriage is a new thing to them but chemistry has always been so good so I see why her father wanted them to be together they just need a little push.
Adam aka Ridge with the MC for a long time and he had a thing for Rain but never crossed the line because she was a brother‘s daughter so he was definitely surprised when his friend told him what he was putting in the will. Adam sexy stuff had me fanning myself basically the whole book he’s just so wheww. And I love how he’s so protective and obsessed with rain.
This book deals with all type of things, including grief, and had me crying just from the prologue. But I still have such a great time with this book just like I do with every Cala and Riley write about and I am so excited for Yak book and the next book.
Thank You So Much for giving me this incredible arc !💐🖤

These two authors never cease to amaze me. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: they have the wildest imaginations...
I love a marriage of convenience/forced marriage trope, especially when it involves two people who are determined they hate each other. Rain is Mustang’s daughter, and after losing her father, she just wants to leave her old life behind. But his final wishes force her into a marriage with Ridge, the man whom she had a crush on. She was angry with her father, Ridge, and the world!!! She just wanted to leave and start over... but her father had other ideas. Rain is strong, independent, sassy, and very loyal, but underneath all that attitude is a woman carrying grief and pain. I loved how she stood her ground when her loyalty was tested!
Ridge has both strength and sweetness. He is protective, caring, patient, and completely devoted to Rain and to his old friend. He’s a good person no matter what anyone has to say. He is supportive of Rain (but didn’t accept her attitude). He made her see that there was hope for them. He always made her feel safe (even when she didn’t know it). Their chemistry was sparkling :D, and their banter made me smile and laugh several times. They had appearances to keep up, but all this sham turned into something real... Some moments made me cry!
The Mountain River MC family is there for them as always, while facing their personal issues and external grudges... The loyalty, brotherhood, and unconditional support were a highlight of the story.
This book was an emotional roller coaster filled with grief, healing, secrets, action, and love. Another amazing addition to the series, and I can’t wait to see what comes next!

Ridge’s Viper is book 3 in the Mountain River MC series and is an arranged marriage book with an enemies to lovers vibe.
After finding out that he is nearing the end of his life Mustang (a brother in the MC and Rains Dad)quickly realises that if he wants his daughter Rain to stay surrounded by his brothers. His “found family” after he’s gone then he needs to act fast and do something drastic. And so he starts to plot and plan.
When his end finally arrives and Rain loses the only family that she has left, she wants to do exactly as her Dad fears she would do. Run.
When she finds out that her father’s final wish is for her to marry Ridge. The man who had been like a son to him over the years. Rain quickly realises that if she wants to receive her inheritance and her family home that there is no other option than to give in to her father’s meddling. She has to marry the man she loves to hate.
Well, we all know that the opposite of love is indifference. And what Rain is feeling is something altogether all too fiery to be indifference.
When Ridge gets the blaring green light to marry the woman that he can’t help but be drawn to and whose fiesta demeanour lights a fire in him like no other. He has to decide if he’s just going to weather the storm until they are able to separate. Or if he’s going to fight and show Rain just how good it could be between them.
“𝓡𝓪𝓲𝓷 𝓲𝓼 𝓪 𝔀𝓲𝓵𝓭 𝓸𝓷𝓮, 𝓫𝓾𝓽 𝓼𝓱𝓮’𝓼 𝔀𝓸𝓻𝓽𝓱 𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻𝔂 𝓼𝓬𝓪𝓻 𝓘’𝓵𝓵 𝓮𝓪𝓻𝓷 𝓪𝓵𝓸𝓷𝓰 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝔀𝓪𝔂.”
When someone from Ridges past returns and is willing to do whatever it takes to take him down by any means necessary. Will their love and marriage survive? Or will the ones determined to break them find out exactly what makes Rain Ridge’s Viper?

I knew this book was going to wreck me from reading the teaser at the end of Wolf'd Songbird. Cala Riley pulled my heart out of my chest, played with it and put it back in. Is that ok? Definitely, because this book is one I will remember for a long time. Between the covers, they give us witty banter, a marriage of convenience, angst for pages, and two people who fight tooth and nail for the opposite things and yet when they cross the line she didn't want to, the two of them set the pages on fire.
Ridge, AKA Adam Harris, will own your heart as you turn the pages of this memorable and emotional MC romance. Yes, this is a romance when you read how much Ridge loves Rain, the woman that he shouldn't but just can't stop. Rain, the woman he watched grow up before his eyes, because her father, Mustang, took him under his wing as a prospect in the MC. Now these two could not be any more opposite than night and day. She is a spirtfire, sassy to the bone and takes no crap from anyone. He is sweet and caring, but takes his club responsibilities seriously.
The death of her father has changed their lives in more ways than one. Having to marry the man you hate is enough to send Rain over the edge. However, they do say that hate and love are opposite sides of the same coin. Here is where Ridge becomes even more swoon-worthy. He lets her take the lead in everything but has a few tricks up his sleeve.
Like any Cala Riley book, they sip in a few twists and turns that add some mystery and suspense, which had me wanting more.

This was the 3rd book in the Mountain River MC series and I know many of us were waiting for Ridge and Rain's book to see what the story was with these two. It didn't disappoint!
Rain is the daughter of club member, Mustang, who as we knew from previous books was battling cancer and when he passes, he has some final wishes that sets off a chain of events for Rain and Ridge but also the club in reminding what family is.
Ridge was like a son to Mustang and while they were also "brothers" in the MC; there was a special connection between the two and Mustang was a father figure for Ridge. He wanted to honor his last wishes, but he also wasn't going to force Rain to abide by them.
We saw these two be more honest with each other and open up more and they helped each other heal from the grief of Mustang's death and helping to honor him. There was definite chemistry between these two characters, and we saw that flame burst into a fire of chemistry and these two finally gave into the desires they had.
These two ladies do a great job of bringing this world to light and continue to build with characters and you get the true sense with family is and how important they are to each other in general in the MC. Great to see past characters and continue to see some strong female characters.

✨ARC Review✨
Ridge's Viper is an excellent addition to Cala Riley's Mountain River MC series if you want motorcycle club romances with emotional depth, forced intimacy, and a marriage of convenience that truly works.
The narrative centres on Ridge and Rain, whose lives are unintentionally linked when Rain's father's last request is that they get married in order for her to inherit. An emotional journey full of unresolved sentiments, old misunderstandings, and real character growth replaces what may have seemed like a typical setup.
The chemistry between Ridge and Rain is one of the book's best features. From the start, their shared past creates believable tension, and it's immensely wonderful to watch hatred gradually turn into trust and ultimately love. Every emotional breakthrough seems earned rather than hurried because Riley lets their relationship grow organically.
The Mountain River MC family still shines despite the romance. While the underlying danger surrounding the MC keeps the plot going at a steady pace, the club members provide heart, humour, and loyalty. The story's emotional heart is not overshadowed by the suspense, which adds just enough action.
Although MC Romance, written by Cala and Riley, isn't my best MC series I've lately read, I still adore their stories and will keep reading them. The Mountain River MC series is therefore ideal if you're looking for a new MC series to read.
I want to thank Cala, Riley, and their PR Team for the opportunity to read and review Ridge’s Viper.

Ridge’s Viper ( Mountain River MC Book 3 ) Marriage Of Convenience and MC Romance at its best !! Oh my gosh guys , I’m just so freaking obsessed with this absolutely amazing and intriguing world Cala Riley has created . Book 3 already and it just keeps getting better and better . The characters, the storylines - it all owns a piece of my heart ❤️ how do you even choose a favorite couple ? Well up until reading Rain and Ridges journey , i probably wouldn’t have been able to . That being said , something about these two was just so special. I really was pulled to them and their story ( like a magnet , like a moth to a flame 🔥. The emotions I felt , so unexpected I really cannot even put them into words. Rain is such a great heroine and oh man dld my heart break for her - the trauma she endured, the way that moss affected her ability to love and open her heart 💜 I could not stop rooting for her to get the happiness she so clearly deserved. And our MMC - Ridge- I was swooning over him the whole way through. How protective he was with her , how caring and supportive he was , so so beautiful. And the chemistry ( insane , just absolutely insane . I genuinely could not devour this book fast enough, it truly was and. Is chefs kiss 💋 and a must read for everyone

Not gonna lie enemies to lovers where everyone can see the main characters are perfect for each other and no matter what they say they're looking at each other with anything but hate just does it for me and Cala Riley gives you exactly that with Ridge's Viper.
Rain's dad, who was in an MC, has just passed and for her to keep her childhood home and inherit the money her he left her she has to marry. But not just anyone, she has to marry Ridge, the guy her dad took in like a son, the one who shot her down once before, and the one man she can’t stand. She goes through with it because she loves her childhood home and isn't ready to let it go and quickly learns that Ridge is not who she thought. He’s way more and exactly who she needs.
This is cute on multiple levels, touching because her dad knew her so well, loved her endlessly, and in forcing her to marry Ridge gave her the man and family she needed after he was gone. I love that Ridge has always been in love with her, how hard he works to show her he sees her and loves her, and his protectiveness is so sexy. There's club drama, witty and scathing banter, and I adore this found family. A great read from Cala Riley that I wholeheartedly loved reading.

I have been not so patiently waiting for this book because I knew it was going to be so good. Rain has been trying to stay away from Ridge after he turned her down so many times before. She was tired of putting herself out there. In fairness, she is a brother’s daughter so that made her off limits to Ridge. However, when her father passes, Ridge needs to step in and keep a promise he made her. There are so many pieces to this story that pull your heart strings and others that will make you laugh because Rain proves she is willing to strike out like a viper to protect those that she loves. The rollercoaster ride is so worth it all as witnessing these two find each other on the other side and the love that they both have is a gift. I love how much Ridge truly loves Rain, that he always has. He also knew he needed to allow her time to grow into herself and to protect her from the shadows. There was nothing that was taken away only added for Rain as she tried to protect her dad’s memory, while allowing Ridge to take care of her in the only way she only ever wanted him to. I love these two together and hope that we have more books in this world!

Mustang, What Were You THINKING?!
Seriously… what was Mustang thinking?
A marriage clause in the will? To Ridge? The man Rain has basically been irritated with for years? On paper, this should have been a complete disaster.
Instead, the chemistry between these two is absolutely off the charts.
Rain is easily my favorite part of this story. She has so much sass, attitude, and fire, and I loved that she never just folded because Ridge was suddenly her husband. Girl, keep giving that man every bit of attitude he deserves. Do not change a thing.
And Ridge… for someone who is supposed to be making this huge sacrifice, he sure starts looking at this marriage like a pretty good opportunity awfully fast. Watching that shift happen was half the fun.
I also really liked that underneath all the banter and chemistry, there’s grief and history tying everything together. Mustang’s final request might be completely outrageous, but it forces two people who already have years of feelings and misunderstandings between them to finally deal with what’s actually there.
Marriage of convenience? Sure keep tellin’ ya self that girl! Maybe you’ll believe it ya self.

The man that had taken him under his wing and taught him everything, everything about the MC and about being the man that he was, was dying…he had one request, and Ridge knew that once Rain got wind of Mustang’s plan, she would flip out and run for the hills, but he would do anything for Mustang.
Rain knew the truth, she knew her father was dying, she didn’t want to face it but when she got the call, she knew it was time. What Rain didn’t know was what her father was up to before he died…and now she was madder than a hornet when the lawyer laid it all out. Get married, stay married for two years, separate for one year, then she would have access to everything, but if she didn’t agree, she would walk away with nothing…oh…there was one more catch, she would need to marry Ridge, the one guy who had turned her down AND she coudn’t stand to be around.
Who would fall first?
Would the marriage only last two years?
Oh…wait…there is one more catch…
they had to live together for those two years.

I was foaming at the mouth waiting for Rain and Ridge's book, and it did not disappoint at all! This MC romance is a slow-burn, friends-to-enemies-to-lovers book with a sort of arranged marriage.
Let me start by saying this book made me cry twice, and I am not a crier when reading. I can count on one hand the number of times I've cried while reading a book. This book does center around a parent's death, and it just pulled at my heartstrings.
Rain is a daddy's girl through and through. She's tough as nails, independent, sassy, will tear you to shreds with insults and snark, and is very loyal. Ridge is such an amazing man. He's thoughtful, caring, can cook, loyal, and the man knows how to use his mouth not only with the hot things he says sometimes but also, well you know...
The pacing was great, and the story flowed nicely. I loved the build-up and seeing their relationship slowly transform throughout the book. I loved the ending so much! It was perfect in so many ways! I can't wait to read Yak's book hopefully next!

What an emotional wild ride! I have read the other novels in this series and loved them. This novel did not disappoint. I am so glad that Ridge and Rain’s story is being told. I loved their back and forth in the previous novels. I was so excited to jump back into this series and this novel did not let me down. From the first chapter this novel reached across the pages and sucked me in and held on tight until the very last page. My heart hurt for Rain and the loss of her father. I loved Ridge and how protective and caring he was toward Rain even when she wasn't aware he was doing things for her behind the scenes. I loved their chemistry! So so good! I loved the dialogue and banter. I loved watching them both lower their defenses and walls and open themselves up to each other. So so good! Once I started reading I did not want to put this novel down. I loved the wild emotional ride this novel took me on. I can hardly wait to see what this author has coming next. So so good!

There is something ridiculously satisfying about watching two people convince themselves a marriage is "just an arrangement" while everyone else can see exactly where it's headed.
Rain and Ridge had me invested from the start. Their relationship is built on trust long before either of them is willing to admit it's becoming something more, and those are some of my favorite romances to read. Watching them slowly become each other's safe place felt genuine, heartfelt, and completely earned.
Ridge is the kind of hero who lets his actions do the talking, and I am a sucker for that every single time. The chemistry between these two felt effortless, but it was the quiet moments that really won me over. By the end, I couldn't help but root for them.
This is exactly why I love a good marriage of convenience. You know how it's supposed to end. The fun is watching them accidentally fall in love along the way.
