RIDMARK ARBAN is the Gray Knight. Outcast and exile, he seeks to stop the return of the terrible Frostborn to the realm of Andomhaim.
At last he knows how the Frostborn shall return. A weapon of great magical power waits in a ruined dwarven city, a weapon with the power to stop the return of the Frostborn.
Assuming the ruined city's guardians do not kill Ridmark first...
Standing over six feet tall, USA Today bestselling author Jonathan Moeller has the piercing blue eyes of a Conan of Cimmeria, the bronze-colored hair of a Visigothic warrior-king, and the stern visage of a captain of men, none of which are useful in his career as a computer repairman, alas.
He has written the DEMONSOULED series of sword-and-sorcery novels, and continues to write THE GHOSTS sequence about assassin and spy Caina Amalas, the COMPUTER BEGINNER'S GUIDE series of computer books, and numerous other works. His books have sold over one million copies worldwide.
Well now Ridmark and all his friends came close to losing their lives this time and barely got out of the mess they were in. But now they know where they need to go next to obtain the powerful artifact but several powerful enemies want it as well. This was another great read and it keeps me reading and wanting more of the series. Only one other author left me wanting more of his hooks besides Moeller and that was Salvatore.

I've enjoyed this series, introduction of different characters and creatures in each book. In one of the last books, we saw the introduction of the halflings and dark elves. This book introduces the manetaurs and trolls while expanding upon the comraderie and adventures shared by the core group introduced early in the series. Great work by the author. Great Reading Everuone!!!!!!!!!!!
I read this book in 1 night. Lots of action in the book. Loved the Gavin and Antenora. He is really becoming my favorite. Right behind Jager. Jager is hilarious and the part where he meets his father-in-law is great. Ridmark is not a favorite right now. I hate his choice. HATE it. I feel so sorry for Calliande. I wish she had fought for him more. I know she is being adult and rational but I want some reaction. At least give her someone else to interact with. How about Arandar? He is older but anything is better than her having to sit around and watch them 'scouting'. I am furious. Ridmark and Morigna are the reason I gave it 2 stars. Great story though. I can't wait to get the next book.
I found this book moved a little slower than the previous book in the series, and I question some of the narrative choices that forced some of the plot twists, especially later in the book, but it was still fairly enjoyable, although I do find myself wishing the main story line would pick up faster. The action kept me hooked, and the climax was rather delicious, but I felt a little let down by the resolution. Having said that, I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series.
The characters are real and living through their eyes brings the story to life. I love the sarcastic interactions and the banter. It's nice to see the "bad guy's step up it gives the series realism
The series flows and moves along at a brisk pace. I was slightly alarmed when it crossed into this world and hope there will not be many references to the now in future otherwise it will spoil the series for me! I will continue with the quest.
I have enjoyed this and I must day, I did like it when the group was split up and how characters had a moment of refection. This led to the ending fosterling the Frostborn are on their way...
Feela like a step back in the series after an exceptionally strong sixth book.
The usual strengths and weaknesses of the series apply but this time the battles vs overwhelming odds and their unlikely escapes seemed a bit too messy, implausible and underwhelming.
The author tried a few new things in this novel which is appreciated. Some worked, some didnt. Loved the manetaurs- thought they added a richness and am disappointed one isn't sticking around as part of the party. Certainly prefer them to the latest two additions who don't really seem that different or intriguing.
Hoping that this book isn't the end of the influenced by darkness storyline that showed real promise. I hope this is continued and not a rushed end to a great potential sub plot.
Liked the authors effort and it's still a good read but was one of the weaker ones in my view. 2.5 stars rounded to 3.
I can not say enough good things about Jonathan Moeller, As an author & a creative genius! His story telling is unsurpassed in gripping tight to your interest & driving the story forward with discovery. You feel a part of the characters lives & want to know everything you can about them. We are all followers of Ridmark Arban!
I am not about to give up after reading seven books but the plot moves slowly. The main quest keeps getting put aside for side quests. I would have given four stars if not for the atrocious editing. Misspelled, misused words are very distracting from the story
I like that the story picks up where the last one ends. All the hodge podge characters stay together and new ones join Ridmark. The story is a great read.
I'm getting more and more annoyed with the main character (the wrongfully accused hero who never makes mistakes and defeats or befriends everyone he meets). The other characters develop well over time (Gavin, Morigna etc) and I almost gave the book four stars.
