3⭐️ It’s okay. Still recommend.
Read this if you like Greek mythology, deadly trials, magical creatures, forced proximity, fake dating, and fast-paced fantasy action.

Hot. But (still) not for me.
💭Thoughts: Just like book one, this was FAST. I love how the story picks right back up after a recap, and the deadly trials had me flying through the pages. My biggest issue was the multiple POVs. I was really invested in the main characters, but I just didn’t care enough about most of the secondary characters to want their perspectives. I ended up skimming them. Still, the story kept me turning pages, and the ending was once again RUDE. Another cliffhanger right in the middle of the action, and now I have to wait for the next book. The suffering of being an ARC reader, babes.
➕Should you add this to your TBR? Yes. Definetly continue the series if you’re already invested in the characters and trials. Just prepare yourself for another rude little cliffhanger.

I am as obsessed with Lyssa's vendetta against Hercules as I was in book 1!
This literally picks up where Immortal Fury left off, no break in the action and we are almost immediately thrown into the next trial. My favorite part of this series is the pacing. I don't need a prolonged, drawn out saga that serves no purpose other than frustration. Eliza Raine is a queen at keeping the story moving without losing detail or depth.
I will say, however, the resolution of a few events felt a little more rushed this time around, like problems were solved maybe a bit too easily. Buy it didn't hinder my enjoyment of the trials, I still gobbled up every word!
Lyssa and Alexios have the best banter and like/hate relationship. Sometimes I wanted to strangle Lyssa, other times I wanted to strangle Alexios. And I'm dying to find out Alexios's true motivation for tricking his way onto Lyssa's team and into the trials.
The ending was diabolical. I'm not going to recover until I have book 3 in my hands.

The deadly trials continue, and Olympus is getting increasingly chaotic.
I really love the multi-POV in this series, but I’m not even going to pretend I don’t have favourites. Lyssa and Alexios have completely stolen the show for me with their fake dating and banter.
The absolute torture of watching these two dance around each other when they could just FUCK already.
“Captain Lyssa of the Alastor is a mystery to me. A fascinating, beautiful mess of mystery.”
I loved getting more of their dynamic in this one, especially as the fake dating starts getting a little harder to keep feeling fake.
“She was supposed to be a means to an end, but now I’m spending as much time thinking about her as I am about my true purpose.”
Meanwhile, the trials are still deadly, there are magical creatures everywhere and absolutely nobody appears to be having a good time.
“Power can be beautiful, and deadly. The two are not mutually exclusive.”
This was such a quick read. The chapters are short, the pacing is FAST and I flew through it. There’s always something happening, so it was very easy to get completely sucked in.
And then that ending. ANOTHER cliffhanger.

Picking right back up where we left off... (don't worry, there's a quick recap!)
The pace continues, the trials are HEATED, and so is Lyssa. Ha!
Nothing is lost here, it is still a great fun time! The trials continue, the race to the finish is... well another book... and we learn a little more about our dear Alexios.
Avadne gives me rage! I'm hoping for more from her VERY soon!
Poor Hedone... she didn't know what she was asking for in the last book.
Eryx has a soft spot with me. I want so much for him!
And Hercules??? well...

This one picks up right where we left off, and I loved the little recap before diving back in. It’s just as fast paced as book one, though a few action scenes felt like they zipped by too quickly. The banter? So good. Even if I wanted to grab the FMC and shake her a few times. The spice was GREAT, and I’m seriously intrigued to see how things play out because we all know the gods love their games.

Holy cannoli that cliffhanger!!!! Book 2 is just as good as book 1. I loved seeing the development from Alyssa in this book, as well as getting a little more insight into Alexios, and I can’t wait to see what his whole story is because the man has secrets and I NEED TO KNOW. Hercules still sucks and I am so ready to see him get his comeuppance.

I received this ARC and immediately devoured it! A short read - but well worth every minute I spent on this book!
Everyone should be reading this series if they love Greek mythology retellings that are unique and more on the dark side!
