Following Isaac

Rate this book
Latest standalone romance from Amazon bestselling author Casey McMillin

Isaac Charles (aka @newyork_nicky) was enjoying the fruits of a successful modeling career. The combination of his striking physique and massive tattoo coverage gave him a unique advantage in the modeling world. His status as an eligible bachelor was also part of the package.

Rebecca Gibson wasn't famous. She was simply a college senior quietly contemplating life after graduation.

She knew Isaac Charles only from his Instagram posts and had no idea how to react when she randomly met him in a hotel lobby in L.A. The chance encounter sparked something in Rebecca that made meeting Isaac again one of her main goals in life.

When she finally made that happen, she wasn't so sure it was really what she wanted. But Isaac had already taken notice of her, and he wasn't so sure he could ever let her go.

He smelled like heaven in a jar and his face was breathtaking. It literally took my breath away...

Can you imagine a top-famous-male-model that make all women around the world crave for his baby have crush on an ordinary girl...uhm...not only ordinary but lil bit chubby ?

Gosh, I must be dying cuz ovaries explode if that things happen in my real world !

But when this chubby girl start to loss her weight so she will looks "appropriate" in Isaac eyes...I start to feel lil bit disappointed....

Well, I know...it's just "a fiction" and it's up to the author how she want the stories should end, but...as a lil bit "curvy" girl...I just wish the heroine better stay "curvy"....

Just sayin'...

Overall, it's definitely a sweet story tho....

I didn't love this book. I thought the characters were shallow and nothing about it felt authentic to me. It was one of those that I thought would get better so I kept reading it but then I was looking forward to when it finally ended so I could move on to the next book.

The main plot of this book is probably every girls dream come true. Whoever dreamed of meeting a famous singer/actor/model and being able to say that you have caught his attention, this is the book for you, to at least experience it through Rebecca's eyes.

Rebecca is just an average girl, with a few pounds too much. She is still trying to figure out, what she wants to do after College, while living with her strange/funny uncle. The only thing she knows is that she loves her current job, preparing floral arrangements for hotels. During one of these jobs, she coincidentily meets Issac, or New_York_Nicky, as she knows him from following him on instagram. She is awestruck of seeing him in person, but feels too unattractive to be worthy to even be in his presence. So it comes to a surprise to her that Isaac walks up to her, asks for her phone and takes a picture with her.

This encounter is all Rebecca needed, to finally get herself together. She is motivated to reinvent herself so that if she has the chance to meet Isaac again, she will be worthy ths time around.

This book perfectly describes the insecurities every woman on this planet has felt either about her body or anything else, that she believes makes her unattractive to men, especially perfect specimen such as Isaac, the male supermodel. If you wanna see how Rebecca deals with these insecurities and what Isaac thinks about her and if they get the chance to meet again. Read this book :)

I was really surprised by this book, because I didn't believe I would be so caught up in Rebecca and Isaacs story and finish it so fast. I like how the author incorporated instagram into the story but would have loved even more if we got to see the pictures as well but imagining them has to be enough for now!

3.5 stars!
This was a really sweet, fun read! I really enjoyed it. Yes, I have to agree with the other comments that I was disappointed with how she lost weight for him and then he noticed her but the reason for deciding to lose weight shouldn't really matter. I wish we had more descriptions of how her body had changed cause at some points it felt like the fat girl got the model but at others it was the "curvy in all the right places" girl got the guy and i couldnt really picture becca as a real person.. This was a really fast read, I started it this morning and finished it throughout the day. It was light and pretty cute. I was sad there wasn't much banter as that usually makes or breaks a book for me. I never really laughed but it brought a smile to my face so i'm happy. I liked it, but didn't love. Also, It was cool to see the use of social media in their lives as most characters in this genre only text it was really refreshing to have some instagramers haha. I wished it was longer and I felt like there could have been a little more before the epilogue but all together I would definitely recommend it!

** I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review **

More often than not, I find myself unable to give a book a 5 star rating. There is always something that bothers me....an aloof hero, a whiny or indecisive heroine, mediocre plot lines, etc... Everything has to come together perfectly in order for me to give up a 5 star.

Following Isaac is a 5 star for me. I loved Becca, who had to learn a lot about herself and have a "transformation" to get to where she wanted to be. I loved Isaac, who was so sweet and amazing with Becca. I loved their circumstances and the timeline and the fact that their conversations seemed REAL (which is a challenge for a lot of authors). I even loved their separation and the change that it represented and prompted, at least for Becca.

The supporting characters were well written - part of the story but not overwhelming. The story-line was believable and the timing was spot on. It was refreshing & sweet while still be satisfying & giving me all the feels.

I will definitely recommend this book and this author and am excited to see what else is out there for me to read by Casey McMillin :)

First of all I'd like to point out how brave Mrs. McMillin is for writing a book with such a delicate matter, a heroine struggling with her weight. Female readers don't usually accept those kind of imperfections on a character so for me it seemed like a risky move. I didn't mind the fact the Becca had weight issues or that she decided to lose weight after she had an encounter with a male model. Improving yourself is always a thumps up despite the reasons behind it.

Following Isaac is one of those OK books that has the potential of being great. The storyline was very good, very interesting and different but the book as a whole felt a bit rushed to me. I don't mind short reads but this one definitely needed more. And lets face it guys no-one falls in love in a day. In lust yes, but I-want-to-marry-you in love no... so yeah, that was kind of weird.

Following Isaac was a 2,5-stars read for me. It lucked character and story development in my opinion, but it was definitely interesting to read.

I was provided with a copy of this book to provide an honest review!

I must start by saying that I did enjoy this book and was a nice easy read, however I felt it was done far too quickly and more detail could have been given especially towards the end!

I liked the concept of hot male model falling for your everyday girl, however what I didn't like was although the she went on a journey to loose weight she did it for all the wrong reason, ok, it was for her to but the main reason was so she could get the guy!

Isaac is your typical male model, hot, fit, but going against the norm he has a lot of tattoos, which I find really hot, and the fact he takes the times to engage with fans is lovely, however the fact he has to get his trainer/friend to give the girls the speech to tell them it's no more than a one night stand annoyed me a bit!,

Overall the book is decent and wouldn't put me off reading others by this author, I liked the concept, however I felt that is was very rushed and soooo much more info could have been given!

I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Following Isaac is a story about the girl who is always in the "friend zone" and a guy who is model with a million fans.

Becca is a sweet soul with low self esteem. After having a not so memorable run in with THE Isaac aka "Ney York Nicky," she embarks upon a self improvement campaign. She wants to look better so she can "accidently" run into him again and make an impression on him. I liked the character Becca. At times I thought she blurted out some dumb things, but overall she was loveable.

Isaac is a very humble guy who still remembers his roots. He is great with his fans and a good friend to Shane.

I felt their story moved really fast and could have had more in depth moments. I would of liked to have read more about their time together at the end. I felt that is was very rushed. However, overall it was a great, quick read! :)

Okay first of all, I know I gave it 5 stars, but I was going to give it 4 stars JUST because it wasn't longer. At first, I was like "okay, it's alright" but once we got deeper into the story, I loved it!!! What I love the most is that Becca is pretty average looking and I can relate! I love that it involves instagram. I follow a male model and he's the first one that popped into my head when Becca first mentioned Isaac. Now I'm going to imagine myself as Becca, hopelessly thinking this hot male model will notice me. Thank you, Casey! haha I really hope, fingers crossed, that we get a little second snippet to this...a novella or something!!

I want to see their extended love story! But I do have to point out my favorite line that had me laughing and that I will use in the future: "I wasn't in a huge hurry to have children, but Isaac Charles made my womb ache!"

Nonetheless, great and fun read!

I thought the book was easy to read and the characters likeable. It was kind of inspiring to see someone who's self perception was rather confident and realistic when society dictates that its not the norm. I suppose everyone has that moment where they want to better themselves in some way and it was encouraging that Becca set out to do it, and although she thought she was doing it for the wrong reasons, ultimately doing it for herself. I liked how Issac was fairly down to earth even with his growing stardom. It was more realistic that he partook in some of the man-whorish ways in the beginning which I liked and hated at the same time. The two seem an unlikely couple but I liked how it ended. I only wished there was more to the jealous co worker or even the models from the beginning to add drama. Overall I enjoyed the read.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

I was expecting a little more from the book. The plot is good, avg girl is hot for a male model. If the book was longer I feel the author really could have developed the h/h. There was just too many unanswered questions and it went from one encounter to the second encounter he was in love. As it stands I would rate 2.5 stars rounding up to 3.

I agree with someone who posted on about being fat at a size 16. I would just avoid sizes in general, so no one is offended by them.

Issac - He is a hot tattooed model. Not much too go on but that.

Becca - is a student living with her uncle and is unsure what she wants in life. She starts realize she really loves her job as a flower arranger. She felt she was fat and decided to loose weight to attract isaac attentions.

Matt - Becc'a trainer could we have more of him...

"They were like golden-brown jewels with facets that were only accentuated by the overhead bulbs. I was mesmerized."

I whizzed through this book in a couple hours and at some points the plot changed so drastically that it left me slightly confused at first, but you can quickly realise the plot changes.

It was a wonderful idea to have Instagram as one of the main concept in this novella, it was entertaining and familiar. Don't we all have that one account on Instagram that we secretly stalk? So I guess it's understandable when Rebecca became starstruck once she sees Isaac.

Received from the author for a honest review. Becca has been following the hot model named Isaac on Instagram. During one of her hotel jobs, Becca she's him and can't believe he would take a picture with her. Afterwards she sees how he wouldn't really want a girl like her, overweight. This picture and a hope that one day Isaac would really want her, Becca decides to love weight and get in shape.
This was a nice easy story to read. Good points of the story was -Not all women are size 2 and most women have a hard time seeing themselves as beautiful no matter what their weight is. Again, all in all, nice read.

Wow! Loved, loved, loved this book.

It had such a unique storyline. I really can't think of another romance I've read recently that is similar to it.

The author did a fantastic job of creating believable characters in realistic situations. That was like a breath of fresh air to me. Don't get me wrong, I like to drift off into fantasy land with my books, but it was so nice to feel like I connected with the characters.

I felt like this was a fairly fast read and I only put it down a few times before I was finished. Classic love story with some modern themes and a HEA.

I'd follow Isaac!

Becca has a little more love handles than what she wants! After meeting a male model she decided she wanted to loose weight and get in shape so next time she can impress the hottie!
Isaac seen her from across the room at a photo shoot and thought he needed to know her. After taking a picture with her the eyes that he fell into would soon capture him again about a year later. He was in love at first sight. She needed more persuading!

I loved this book! Becca is like any normal girl with insecurities and she did something for her self. Even though she started loosing weight for a guy she finally found herself!

I was expecting a little more than I got from this book... Firstly at the beginning Becca considers herself "fat" and says she a size 16 and being a bigger size than that, I wouldn't consider her fat at all!! I know that everyone has issues with their bodies etc, but come on!
She meets hot model Isaac who does sound delicious ;) and decides that she needs to loose weight in order to snare him, and unfortunately once she's lost the weight, he does take notice.
Was still a nice little read, but it wasn't as enjoyable as some others I've recently read

So i started to read this and to be honest I didn't really get into it at first, after weeks I've finally finished the remaining 90% today! Glad I came back to it, I feel like I'm a becca! Parts of this actually had me laughing out loud and I really warmed to the characters. Feel like a soppy girl but the ending was so cute and how I'd hoped

Loved this. Review to come once I re-read. This is a quick read because it sucks you in and is realistic as well as a fantasy type read. Fan meets the celeb they follow on Instagram and sparks fly. Doesn't seem too far-fetched. Can't wait to dive into this one again. Some serious swooning moments too. I am a romantic though... and I totally want another book continuing this story.

The chapters seemed to end out of nowhere which really threw me off. Not as terrible as some of her previous stories I have read.
