A love of reading inspired Allison Merritt to pursue her dream of becoming an author who writes historical, paranormal, contemporary, and fantasy romances, often combining the sub-genres. She lives in a small town in the Ozark Mountains with her husband and dogs. It's not unusual to find her lurking in graveyards, wandering historical sites, or listening to ghost stories.
Allison graduated from College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri with a B.A. in mass communications that's gathering dust after it was determined that she's better at writing fluff than hard news.
*Good Ride, Cowboy by Allison Merritt* This is a sweet story of Sommer, a girl who seems to just have the worst luck imaginable; and Perry, a bull rider who turns out to be her knight in a shiny pick-up. The storyline is simple and believable, and despite it's semi-slowness it still keeps readers enthralled and turning the pages. I would gladly read and recommend other works by this author.
*Cowboy In Waiting by Leslie P. Garcia* I really liked this story. The troubled border patrol officer, the widowed military wife... it was sweet with a very real life feel. The story flows nicely, though I think I'd have liked to see Ray on Josie and maybe busting his butt like he thought he'd do! I think any reader that's a fan of second chances at love and learning to move on will enjoy this story.
*The Heartbroken Cowboy by Melissa Keir* This story touches on the very real issue of Alcoholism. Our cowboy was hurt to the point that only alcohol eased the pain, our heroine has a secret concerning herself and the all mighty bottle. This story is maybe more realistically written than the others because it covers the fears and the doubts and the hardships that recovering alcoholics go through on a daily basis. I truly appreciate the debt in this story and other readers will as well.
*Cowboy in Trouble by Autumn Piper* Another sweet cowboy love story, this one may leave the reader a bit wanting. With how it begins, the reader expects there to be action, maybe some danger, but it falls flat in this department; leaving the reader instead with the story of a cowboy needing a place to hide out and a soon to be divorcee who realizes she needs help around her farm more than she'd have liked to admit. Aside from the lack of action and danger, the story is sweet and shows how quickly love can bloom between kindred spirits.
*A Cowboy's Heaven by Sara Walter Ellwood* A widow rancher, and widower doctor discover their second chance at love. The ending of this one choked me up a bit. I won't even lie. The story was beautifully written; but the ending, while expected, was still enough to bring tears to my eyes. The author definitely has a way with words and the reader won't be disappointed.
*Cowboy Proud by D'Ann Lindun* I really must admit, this is probably my favorite story of the entire anthology. A woman who selfishly leaves her newborn son and his father to pursue her dreams. A father who selfishly won't compromised with the mother of his child. This one is definitely a tearjerker, it would be wise for the reader to have some tissues at hand.
The anthology as a whole is definitely not what expected. Each of these six authors has brought something new and refreshing to the table, and I can almost guarantee that even readers who aren't fans of cowboys will enjoy each and every one of these stories.
I wish I had gotten to known the stories in the first Cowboy Up anthology, I bet they're just as good as these.
I was given a copy of Cowboy Up2 for an honest review. I am going to review 2 of my favourite stories.
5 Stars - Melissa Keir's - The Heartbroken Cowboy. After a bottle of fire whiskey lights a fire between Debra and Johnson - their heat gets a cold slap in the face. Debra wakes up the next day not remembering what she did or who she was with and Johnson spends days on edge waiting for a call from Debra. When they meet, their less than perfect pasts build a wall between them that takes a beautiful move on Johnson's part to break the barrier down.
Debra and Johnson are a great couple and I was cheering for them to get past the problem and see the fact they loved each other. Melissa Keir has written another great cowboy story and I'm hoping a Cowboy Up 3 is in the works.
5 Stars D'Ann Lindun's Cowboy Proud Fate (or writers) have a great sense of irony – they love to put people in gut-wrenching situations. Madeline gives up a treasure – her son – so she can pursue a dream. Shan accepts full parental rights and fiercely protects his son. Five years later Madeline comes home for a friend's wedding and is horrified to learn she is walking down the aisle with the one person she thought was the "last person" she wanted to see and then she falls into his arms. But there's a signed piece of paper standing in the way of Maddy and Shan's happiness.
This is another great read from D'Ann Lindun and the line I loved the most – He smelled like sin. You know from that moment on; things are going to get complicated and hot!
Six amazing stories, by six different authors. The one thing they have in common? They can write enchanting, emotional stories about cowboys. Each story delivers an entertaining read. From the first story to the last, readers get to know six different couples. Hot cowboys and the women who dare to fall in love with them. The stories are novellas, but are perfect for an afternoon or two of reading, depending on how quick you read. Each story drew me in and kept me engaged. Can't say I have a favorite story in the set because each one tugged on my heart or made me laugh in different ways. A set absolutely worth the ride and more!
I loved this collection! Each of these stories will tug at your heartstrings, funny bone and lower ;) While the common theme is cowboys, each individual story is unique. From the broken-hearted to a military widow, each heroine is relatable to us all. The cowboys are still hot as sin! If you haven't read one of these authors before, now is a great time to check them out along with a favorite.
This fabulous group of authors has done it again. Every story in the collection is a thoroughly enjoyable read that will grab you by the heart and not let you go. The set is an excellent follow up to the first bundle, and pure entertainment. If you love cowboys and western romance, you'll love this book!

Cowboy Proud by D'Ann Lindun

Fun filled cowboy reads in this anthology. The stories range from humorous to heart wrenching. Each story is better than the next. Definitely worth picking up if your looking for hot cowboy reads.
I am a fan of standalone book collections. It provides me with enough hours of reading to keep me entertain. These authors write simple but compelling stories. Love them all!!
hank you to the 6 amazing authors of this anthology for the opportunity to read and review these stories. Thank you to Shades of Rose for the opportunity to read this as well.
The Heartbroken Cowboy Review:
This story had me feeling a wide range of emotions. Both of these characters had decided that they were going to avoid alcohol for their own personal reason but one night at a wedding, those good intentions dropped and they consume alcohol. What happened after brings this story through some twist and turns, but watching these characters heal was worth the tears that fell.
I have been trying to figure out how to write this review and can’t come up with anything that doesn’t involve spoilers. I could relate to Debra’s character because she was heartbroken after the death of her husband. A secret can cause additional stress under a horrible situation. How she was able to let Johnson into her life and let him know everything was inspiring.
Other stories in this anthology:
There wasn’t a single story that I did not enjoy reading. They were all great reads and have something special about each of them.
I bought these two box sets within days of each other and am so glad that I did. The same authors are in both sets and they are all great. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is that there were several grammatical errors and I get very upset that the proof readers let these and spelling errors by them. Anyway, I enjoyed these stories, especially when the story in Cowboy Up was completed in Cowboy Up 2. I hope many of you try these box sets and that you love them as I do. These authors are fantastic.
This collection of books contains short stories and 'quick, after meeting you' sex. The sex scenes are not overly long and graphic, easily skippable. The stories themselves are not too 'deep' and read very quickly. I got what I paid for, but enjoyed not having to get in deep with the characters. I found the characters likable. An easy read for those who like quick stories.
Cowboy Up 2 is a nice collection of cowboy stories by various authors. These books are all fairly short reads, perfect for those with limited time for reading. Each book is a complete stand alone, no cliff-hangers.
After reading Cowboy Up, I couldn't wait to read this series, and it didn't disappoint, some of the stories were related to the ones in cowboy up, just from a different character's story, every story was good, I loved them all.
I enjoyed this book so much. It was a great love story but not full of exciplict sex as so many are. I would recommend this to all my friendsband family to read.
This bundle of books was an amazing read. While reading it you will cry, laugh and curse. If you have not one clicked it yet, then you need to today. You will not be disappointed.
