When she's offered a job on the Isle of Bute as an assistant scriptwriter with Pelias Productions on the film A Man Alone, Alison Cameron seizes the opportunity for a change of career. It isn't long before she has cause to regret her decision as a suspicious death and then an on-set accident throw the production into disarray. Someone wants to make sure the film isn't successful. And exactly what is the domineering director, Sol, trying to hide?
Not quite as good a story as usual! Although set in real time and in an actual location, the chaotic way that filming took place made for slightly depressing reading. The narrow escapes that Alison continually endues is beginning to undermine credibility! Nevertheless, a good read, and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
