Cassandra hates writing about herself in the third person, but here we are. With over 33 novels penned and no signs of stopping, she writes across multiple genres. Unable to be pinned down by just one, you'll find Fantasy, Dark Romance, Young Adult, and even a Detective series in the mix.
Having grown up in a small country town and later lived in the city, Cassandra found a perfect spot she likes to call an 'in-between place'—complete with rolling hills and just a stone's throw from the Gold Coast in Queensland Australia.
While she may have had social media in the past, Cassandra has since declared it's not for her. Her website is now the best place to find out what's happening in her world and to see what upcoming books are on the horizon.

This was amazing! A dark, reverse harem romance book where the characters are intensely relatable, likeable and pull you in completely.

Lilliana has been through something crazy traumatic. Both of her parents were brutally tortured and murdered but nobody seems to know who did it. Her memories of her childhood, pretty much everything before this brutal event are gone. She ends up getting a scholarship at Nightsbane university, where her parents went. Some of the kids, Victoria especially are viciously cruel to scholarship kids. That’s nothing new in a dark romance book, but the author does a great job handling very sensitive topics.

It’s here that she meets Callum, Will and Xander. Callum is the equivalent to when you have a homemade cookie fresh out of the oven, sweet, gooey, warm and positively delicious. He is made of boyfriend material, so kind and sweet, he will have you melting every page he’s on. He has a quiet intensity to him so it’s not like he’s one of those boring cinnamon roll guy characters. The love and safety of the water and swimming that they have really adds to the depth of their relationship and it’s just adorably sweet.

Xander is damaged but in a different way. He has a darker, more mysterious intensity to him. He reminds me a lot of Damon from the devils night series but he is sweeter and while he is intense, has a caring and unwavering genuinely protective and grounding presence for Lilli. He misses the little girl who made boring events that were tedious fun and warm for him. Getting to see them rekindle that bond is done beautifully well.

We don’t get a lot of will time in this book but hopefully in the next one we will see more sides to him.

There is a darker plot line in this book and it’s evident that some super shady stuff went down and it seems to put Lilli in a rather precarious and unsafe position in this series. I hope in the next book that she will get more memories back and she can figure out who killed her parents and why.

I absolutely loved and whipped through this. Onto the next book to get some answers we goooo!

This was a first time read from this Author.

I really enjoyed this story. I am a big WhyChoose fan and this book had great characters and a great plot! I will be reading the second because I just need to know how it ends.

This cast of College characters had all the best traits in a why choose. Lilianna with her broken past, Xander with his dark and brooding self, Will coming in clutch with his need to make Lilianna smile, and Callum bringing a certain steady peace, rounding out the group.

I really wished I could've seen more of Will and Lilianna's chemistry grow. I'm hoping in the next book it shows their connection more. I loved Lilianna's character growth. I feel like this book was medium paced which worked in the authors favor. The build up for book two was perfect and the cliffhanger had me running to get it.

I really think this book could've gone through a few more edits. There were a few disconnected moments, one being a side characters gender, first female, then male and then back to female. Another was a time frame. It was first 7 years since something happened, but then mentioned what age the character was, when it did and it changed to 12 years.

This could've easily been a 5 star read if those plot lines had been more secured, along with the writing style. It could just be me, but not reading compound words and reading out "I did not.." "I could not", "though I am not sure" "does not know". It does read a little bit robotically.

Granted that's easy to look over and didn't ruin anything for me, just sometimes, my mind couldn't help reading in a robotic tone. However the plot is what sold this book to me and it did hold my attention!

Plot: 4/5

Prepare to binge!

I often prefer to read darker romance where those in the relationship begin antagonistic. One of the main reasons is it's harder to find and probably create supportive relationships without becoming trite and cliched. However, Cassandra Doon navigates it with seeming ease. The tension and undercurrent of danger still exists and you should probably be prepared to binge.
