When her sister Rosalind starts sending letters that sound wrong, Claire doesn't just worry—she infiltrates. But when the mist clears to reveal a betrayal that costs Claire everything, she has to Is she a captured asset, or the only woman smart enough to own the male who tried to cage her?

Sweet and steamy is my thing! I just love when a hero is gentle, passionate, and protective with his heroine. It makes me melt inside. As a reader, I’ve especially come to love monster romance novels, but I couldn’t find enough that scratched that itch. So I decided to start writing!

He built the trap for her body, but her mind was always the prize.

Claire sees the trap before she steps into it, but when her sister’s letters from a fae court start sounding wrong, walking away stops being an option. She enters Mist Court under a flawless cover for answers and finds a lord who watches too closely, knows too much, and never seems surprised by anything she does.

Vaelis is patient in the way dangerous men are patient. He doesn’t rush or press because he doesn’t need to. The closer Claire gets to the truth, the more her control slips, and what begins as surveillance and strategy turns into something darker, a private war built on tension, exposure, and the pull between wanting and resisting.

As the mission tightens around her, Claire is forced to face the worst possibility of all: that the line between manipulation and desire is no longer clean, and that the man undoing her may be the one person she can’t stop reaching for. When betrayal hits, it fractures her trust, her certainty, and the self she thought could survive untouched.

Claire begins as a hyper-controlled operative who trusts discipline more than vulnerability, while Vaelis begins as a manipulative lord who treats intimacy like strategy. Their relationship shifts from covert observation and psychological games into a bond shaped by erotic compulsion, distrust, and raw exposure, forcing them to choose each other without innocence.

Dark, ultra steamy, fae, secret identity, forced proximity, morally dark hero, omegaverse romantasy where obsession, manipulation, and desire tangle so tightly that love can’t be separated from control or consequence. Built on hidden motives, forced intimacy, and brutal emotional exposure, it follows a woman losing her grip on certainty and a man whose devotion is as dangerous as his need to possess.

The Elevator Pitch: An elite spy enters a fae court to uncover what happened to her sister and finds a cold, watchful lord who seems to know her better than he should. What begins as a mission of control turns into a private war of obsession, exposure, and desire, where every answer pulls her closer to the one male she cannot safely want. As the truth tightens around them, she must decide whether the most dangerous thing in that court is his deception or the part of herself that answers him.

Heat Level: 🔥🔥🔥 Ultra-Steamy / Erotic Romance

I'll be perfectly upfront when I say the sub plot I understood maybe 40% of it. I have a vague grasp on it and it made sense with the story. in RAM with it and was definitely interesting. I mean engaging because I was able to finish. though I did skim a bit. Allegra knows how to do the smut scenes what can I say. There's like this spy thing and counter intelligence. I won't pretend to understand in depth but it's not detrimental to the story. it's in great detail and not everyone wants or needs an explanation that deep. I swear riddles for days which is part of the gun I would say. I was about 60% thru when everything clicked. if things vague or confusing don't give up. it's part of it with the characters and their "courtship". Also this one we get a glimpse from Rosalind in the first book. I will say this as well I'm just now starting to fully understand the series. Each piece is a piece and the back story isn't fully explained in whole of one book. you have to piece it together. lastly I did receive this as an arc and am willingly leaving my review.

MISTED was such a dark, immersive continuation—intense, emotional, and full of that addictive omegaverse energy 👀🔥

The world feels even deeper in this one, with higher stakes and a heavier atmosphere that pulls you in. There’s a lot of tension throughout, and the dynamics between the characters keep things interesting and layered.

It definitely leans into the darker side of the series, which I really enjoyed, but I did find myself wanting just a little more in certain moments to fully push it to a 5⭐

✨ Read this if you love:
• dark romantasy 🖤
• omegaverse vibes
• intense character dynamics
• high-stakes fantasy worlds
• emotional, tension-filled reads

Still such a strong and addictive read overall 👀📚.

This is the fifth book in the Dark Faeverse series. I had the opportunity read the first 4 in the series and enjoyed them very much. And just like the others, this story was a really enjoyable read that had a nice mix of atmosphere, tension, and romance. The story pulled me in pretty quickly, and I liked the slightly mysterious vibe woven throughout the book. The chemistry between the two MCs felt natural, and I found myself genuinely invested in where things were headed. The pacing was good and the spice was top tier. I would’ve loved a bit more development in certain moments, but overall it was still a solid read. Definitely one of those books that’s easy to curl up with and get lost in for a few hours.

"she says my name. Just my name. I say hers back and mean it in every direction it goes." quote from (Misted by Allegra Rose)

Just a heads up this review does contain a potential spoiler

This was Claire and Vaelis story. I am learning that when it comes to these books. The enemies to lovers aspect takes front and center stage, but while some form of attraction/lust helps with the push and pull of things between them. There is usually some other common ground for them to meet up on. However things between the protagonists in misted, seem o stay on fairly rocky ground right up until the very end. The death close friend and loved one is certainly difficult hurdle to overcome. I'm not sure I would have it in e personally but Clair is a rather strong individual.

Misted is the fifth book of the Dark Faeverse series and is the tale of Omega Claire Whitmore who has been led into a well conceived trap by Fae Lord Vaelis Nebulon who has desired and wanted her from first sight, why? Because she is his prophesied Omega, and he has been waiting thousands of years for just that one.
This was an enjoyable dark and steamy omegaverse romance with its imaginative world building, drama, danger, secrets, tension, magic, emotion, and good writing that combined all those elements into a well crafted, entertaining read.

Claire is a spy and is going to Vaelis’ court to gather intelligence. Unbeknownst to her he has been planning this for 6 months as she will be his next omega.
This is an intense, gripping book with fascinating characters in a very different world. I thoroughly enjoyed this book without reading some other books in the series but will have to catch up on the other books to find out more about the overall plot in the series and to find out more about this complicated world. I am not one to read this type of romance but the story caught me until the end and I can’t wait for the next in the series!.

Book 5 of the Dark Faeverse series. Can be read as a standalone.

'But when the mist clears to reveal a betrayal that costs Claire everything, she has to decide: Is she a captured asset, or the only woman smart enough to own the male who tried to cage her?'

The characters were very complex and complicated and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and intense and exciting and well paced. World building was excellent and impressive. All in all a great addition to the series. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

Grab a copy, kick back and enjoy!.

A great read! Vaelis and Claire's story is a bit of a slow burn and a bit agonizing as the forgiveness scene did take quite a while. It's not so much as the uppity lifty up kind of story but the romance between the MCs and the plot is great. I just wished the intimate scenes were more spicier. Like more details needed. Maybe it's just me 🤣 I like the details on intimate scenes.
It's my first book from Allegra Rose and I can honestly say, I enjoyed it quite a lot. I actually wanna start the entire series now. It's a highly recommended book for me for sure. Thank you for letting me review this amazing work!.

“Misted” by Allegra Rose

-A dark, immersive story about Claire Whitmore and Lord Vaelis Nebulon that leans heavily into tension, layered character dynamics, and a richly expanding world. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.

The intricate spy and fae politics can feel confusing at times, but the puzzle-like storytelling eventually clicks into place. Emotional intensity and addictive chemistry carry the story, making it a compelling—if occasionally overwhelming—read.

This is a good story that is a bit dark. It is part of "Dark Faeverse" series but can be enjoyed as a stand alone. The world, characters and plot are creative. The story is set in the omega world where the alpha takes what he wants, the omega, no matter what. With that said the reader should know what kind of world this is. It is a steamy read about Lord Vaelis and Claire, where the alpha claims his mate but she claims his heart. I like the characters. The plot was intriguing with choices made and consequences faced.

Misted is the fifth book in the Dark Faeverse series. It follows Omega Claire Whitmore, who is lured into a trap by Fae Lord Vaelis Nebulon — the ancient fae who has waited thousands of years for his prophesied Omega.
This was a somewhat dark and steamy omegaverse romance with danger, secrets, tension, magic, and emotion. A well-crafted, but average, entertaining read!.

Misted is book five of the Dark Faeverse Series.

Vaelis has set a trap and Claire has unknowingly stepped into it. There is a lot of spice between these two. There is a lot of intrigue and mystery within this one. We get some deceptive behaviour which gets uncovered and the world between them gets rocky.

Got repetitive

I like this series but this book became repetitive filler at the end. The same passages were being used again just moving sentences around.
