A dark tale of fated mates, kept a secret as two alpha brothers compete for the title of King.
After centuries of political misguidance, which led mankind to the brink of extinction, the king and queen of Andoburgh-an elected pureblood alpha and omega who serves as an advocate for the townspeople, must now fight to amend the unjust laws that have betas and omegas suffering from prejudice. Meanwhile, in the background, purebloods are scheming to keep these laws in place.
The king also faces a more personal which of his alpha sons shall be next to sit on the throne? Cole, the eldest, who exploits his superior status? Or Levi, who plans to follow in his mother's footsteps, advocating for omega and beta rights?
Among the chaos, Ezra, an omega forced to live in hiding since presenting at thirteen, learns of a gala organised by the king of Andoburgh, which will allow the princes to find a fertile omega mate.
Until He Found Him is the first book in a trilogy, set in a world where male omega pregnancies are essential to survival. It explores deception, corruption, and deceit from the unending desire for power through political manipulation.
Wow, how do I even begin to explain how much I loved this story. I am not one for words, but Rachel most definitely is. This story is so beautifully written, and the themes explored in this story are so important, especially in the world we are currently living in.
Until He Found Him is book 1 in a MM Omegaverse trilogy, and holy cow I need book 2 right now, like RIGHT NOW! That ending.
I was both in awe and also cussing out Rachel while reading this.
I am not going to get into the plot, because this is an experience, and also a very refreshing take on omegaverse romance.
If you have not yet entered the Omegaverse world, Until He Found Me is a perfect place to start.
Again, book 2 is needed ASAP, please and thank you.
Until He Found Him had me hooked from the very first page. Rachel O’Rourke knows exactly how to write the perfect MM romance. The yearning, the angst, and the fated mates had me completely obsessed.
Now excuse me while I impatiently wait for book two… I need it yesterday. 🤭
Holy moly - please see the following emoji representation of the rollercoaster of emotions I have experienced during this read 🤯🤩🥵🤓🥹🥺🤬🫣
Until He Found Him is an addictive dark omegaverse MM romance set in a world where male omega pregnancies are the key to survival and political structures are rife with deceit and corruption.
The book follows two alpha brothers, Cole and Levi, as they compete to be named successor to their father, the current King. And then there’s sweet baby angel Ezra, the omega who’s been forced to live in hiding until he finds himself at a gala where Cole and Levi are both choosing their omega mate.
I won’t speak too much on plot or detail of the individual male characters because I don’t want to spoil anything, but Rachel O’Rourke has done an amazing job in creating characters that you will love, hate or sometimes even loving and hating them simultaneously 🙃
There is so much emotional depth and trauma that some of the characters have previously, and are currently, experiencing. Rachel explores it in a way that had me in tears at times because I was so emotionally invested!
And then there’s the omegaverse aspect to this. Until He Found Him is the first omegaverse book I’ve read that doesn’t involve the characters being wolf shifters and it definitely won’t be the last! I’m so intrigued and was surprised at how 🥵 some of the heat and knotting scenes were 🤭
I also want to applaud Rachel on the way she weaves little hints throughout the book, and I’m sure there are some little foreshadowing moments I don’t understand yet that will become known in books two and three of the trilogy. The political plot line in this book was so engaging and the ending was a massive twist / cliffhanger. I have so many unanswered questions that have me absolutely needing to know what will happen next.
Perfect for readers who love: ✨ omegaverse ✨ fated mates ✨ political intrigue ✨ found family ✨ yearning ✨ knotting 😏 ✨ hidden identity ✨ slow burn ✨ arranged mating
I LOVED this fresh take on the omegaverse genre while keeping the familiar elements that make omegaverse one of my fav genres. The fated mates storyline had me swooning but also during that slow burn build up, my heart hurt. The world building was easy to follow and really interesting with the take on pure bloods, crossbreeds and what’s needed to be done for the sake of mankind.
This is my first time reading a book with the concept of alpha, beta and omega without it being a shifter novel. I had my doubts of how it would work with humans. Rachel’s focus on the history and political climate of this world not only created a believable narrative but a world that sucked me in like a vortex and rudely spat me out on the edge of a cliff hangar *sigh
This is a spicy romance with dark romance elements, fated mates and aristocracy
What the fuck!! Rachel O'Rourke please come forward and explain that ending! Now I have to wait with bated breaths for the next book, not fair at all.
The way the author writes her characters is so damn good, they will elicit a lot of emotions from you. Trust me!
The characters in this book, I wouldn't lie made me angry on a visceral level, especially Cole, fucking Cole. With Levi I have mixed feelings about him, especially at the start, thank god he finally grew a sort of a backbone. I refuse to see the reasons of his behaviour especially after that event. Iykyk. Ezra is the only character I like and he deserves better honestly and Meridith needs to escape ASAP cause that man is not changing.
As for Cole I hope he burns in the fucking depths of hell. And the King, fuck him!!
I can't wait to read the next book because as much as Levi is complicated I want to see him win because the lives of multiple people depends on him and as I said earlier Ezra deserves better, I hope he proves himself in the later books. Also Ezra's reactions are valid!
This book will make you angry and question the decisions of the characters and if you like seeing people fight to relieve other from oppression then this is for you. Do proceed to dive in then.
DNF at 41%. There was just so much exposition (literally most of the book up until this point was paragraphs and paragraphs talking about the history of omegas) and a lot of unnecessary descriptions (does every single thing inside every room need to be described in detail?). I stopped reading after Levi chooses Ezra as his mate and then starts treating him like crap instead of telling him he’s doing this to protect him. Like sure, why tell your fated mate about your plan to keep him safe when you can just treat him like absolute crap instead?
Miscommunication, especially when it makes absolutely zero sense, is my biggest pet peeve in romance novels. Actually bummed that I spent real money on this book.
EDIT TO ADD: ok, what the hell. I skipped to the end and read the last couple of chapters. What do you mean the king forgave Cole after everything???? Cole was a PSYCHOPATH. A terrifying guy that was so evil he was basically a caricature of a villain. He was cruel and absolutely horrible and their dad just...forgives him and makes him the next king?? What is WRONG with this family. I'm not leaving a rating because I didn't read the entire book, but it'd have been 1 star just because of this ending. Jesus Christ.

When im three chapters in and I literally want to punch one of the main characters you know it’s going to be good. Cole and his younger brother Levi are forced to choose mates to guarantee the next generation, with the promise of the first to produce an heir will become King. Unbeknownst to Cole,Levi finds his fated mate Ezra at the ball. Levi is very much the traditionalist and values his omega Ezra, where as Cole sees his omega as beneath him and a means to the end goal. Great reading and you truly become entwined with the characters. This is the first book in the trilogy and I’m so looking forward to the next one. Book ends on a cliffhanger and is slow burn.
I had the opportunity to read an ARC for “Until He Found Him” the first in a trilogy by Rachel O’Rourke. A book about the Omegaverse, but with humans instead of shifters. A refreshing twist on the roles of Alpha, Beta and Omega. This was unfamiliar territory for me genre wise, but once I started, I could not put it down. I absolutely adored the world that Rachel has written for these characters, who all had an impressive range of depth to their personalities. A tale of fated mates and the fight for equality, and the building relationships along the way. Two brothers, two sides of politics. Who will it be?
I was fortunate enough to be accepted for an advanced copy of this book and I'm so thrilled!
Multi POV, dark urban fantasy MM, omegaverse would be how I'd summarise the themes. Make sure to read the trigger warnings, even the author mentioned at the start that this is darker than her usual work so make sure you consider that before picking it up.
I love the characters so far, our prince charming Levi, his precious mate Ezra, and that dirtbag Cole... (love to hate Cole for sure) and I'm looking forward to the other books in this series!
Holy jesus christ. This was my first omegaverse mm story and I was not disappointed. The pacing, the spiceeeee Rachel! This is hands down my favourite book of hers.
We get everything in this book, slow burn, mystery, two brothers fighting for the crown, murder, hurt, comfort. I cannot wait to see where this story goes and I hope my babies come out on top.
I froth an omegaverse especially when swords cross but a stricly MM omegaverse?! SOLD. This was my first foray into mpreg and it did not disappoint. This had me screaming and at the edge of my seat so many times feeling alllllll the feelings. LOVE!
Arc Review: Wow this was one amazing ride. I loved it. There is love, spice, fated mates, murder, royal politics and more. I definitely can’t wait for the second book.
