Karen Kendall is the author of many disasters and nine romantic comedies. She grew up in Austin, Texas, and credits her early interest in writing to several teachers and her mother, a professor of comparative literature.
A graduate of Smith College, Karen studied the mysteries of modern and contemporary art before enrolling in a masters program in Museum Education, with the aim of teaching children about art. She worked for several museums and galleries before following her lifelong dream and completing a novel.
Karen is still a big fan of children's art, but she now writes full time and lives in Florida with her husband, Don, and attack-cat Boo, who turns up her nose at chicken and fish but adores asparagus and mint-chocolate-chip ice cream.
3.5/5 This was funny and the writing was good. I was actually surprised that it wasn't too mushy like harlequin and mills & bloom books are. I enjoyed parts more than others and could have done with a bit more character & plot development; some parts felt botched up. Also, **trigger warning for sexual assault**
Atypical me to read the first book in the series last, but it made no difference, since events are loosely tied together. Again, Kendall impresses me with her sense of humor in these books. I loved the pranks that Peggy on Dylan, and his sense of humor was just as good. I will definitely pick up another by this author.
Had so much potential. Think I've been spoiled by some really good romance writers like Ruth Ann Nordin. The words used to describe their love-making cheapen it along with much of the encounters (especially at the beginning).
I felt myself enjoying the characters or I wouldn't have continued, but missing stuff that I would have preferred from my favorite romance author...
