I actually really liked this book. Had me hooked. I didnt realize I would love Maddox and Rylen as much as I did. The sexual tension between them had my heart RACING. Even at work I couldnt tear my eyes away. Maybe one day we can get a novella of them in their teens. I do wish we had more of that in this book since they have SO much history together. I loved that we got a glimpse of Felicia and Tristan at the end. I will definitely be reading their story when it comes.

P.Larson absolutely crushed this!!! Mad and Ry are just two beans struggling with their desire for each other - the poor babies. I absolutely loved their backstory despite it being very sad, but I'm so glad they finally FINALLY fell in love!

I can't wait to see what P.Larson writes next, she will be an author I will always support!

I received an arc copy of admit your mind. At first I thought the pacing was abit fast, but pacing is subjective so considering they was supposed to best friends it made sense. The author does an amazing job at immediately setting the scene and the vibe from the first few pages. Enough to ground you comfortably and then its off to the races. The story is unlike any I've read before and I appreciate that breath of fresh air. Maddox has a real tragic backstory that actually explains him and is choice really well. Even if the entire time I was yelling at Rylen to get your man!! Overall i would suggest this to anybody who wants a escape from the world.

I had the absolute honour of reading Admit You're Mine as an ARC, and wow... what a ride. The spice was definitely spicing, and I can confidently say this was probably one of the hottest prologues I've ever read. 🥵
But beyond the heat, P. Larson delivered all the angst, emotion, and intensity I've come to love. Maddox and Rylen completely pulled me into their story, and I was hooked from the very first page. If you love dark romance that will pull at your emotions, frustrate you, make you want to shake the characters, and have you loving every second of it at the same time, then this one needs to be on your TBR. 🖤📚🔥

I wanted to sink my fingers into his skin and anchor him to the earth so deeply that the ghosts of his past wouldn't be able to find him anymore. I wanted to claim every jagged piece of his grief and swallow it whole just so he wouldn't have to carry it any longer.


This book took me by absolute surprise. A fellow reader from a separate authors street team recommended it and I was in a MM mood. And this DELIVERED. Maddox & Rylen were the exception to the miscommunication trope for me. The quiet and not so quiet sometimes back and forth between them.
The tension. The fact they were there for one another. The Zelda shower scene 😭😭😭

I loved them and while this was spicy 🥵🥵🥵 it was emotional the amount of quotes and internal monologue both characters that I highlighted 😭

Trauma Bond & Instant Spice

This is a beautifully written story between two best friends, bonded through trauma, and now navigating through a possible new chapter between them. With dual POV you get to explore the individual turmoil that eats at both Maddox and Rylen. The struggle being, with a past like that, do you really deserve happiness… love? Sometimes the greatest way to heal is to face your doubts and approach with an open mind… you never know what’s going on with others internally.

Absolutely loved this book and can’t wait to see what else P. Larson comes up with in the future, will 100% be jumping on that as soon as I get my greedy little fingers on it.

The dynamic between Maddox and Ry had me invested from the start. Their chemistry was through the roof, and their personal back stories hit me right in the feels.

If you want a book that you’ll struggle to put down, kicking your feet giggling, and wishing the next book was already in your hands to see and know the story of the next characters, P. Larson has you covered.

To summarize this book in one sentence: denial is a river in Egypt.

The story was okay, but I didn’t like the setup that much. At one point Rylen asks himself why, after thirteen years, he’s suddenly struggling so much with his crush on Maddox. And to be honest, I was wondering the same thing. It seemed kind of random to start the story there.
The book starts with Maddox secretly liking Rylen and Rylen secretly liking Maddox. Rylen wants to be with Maddox but can’t for some reason, and Maddox absolutely cannot know that Rylen goes out for a drink with another man for some reason - even though they both have no intention of pursuing each other at that point.

The way Bry (=the other man) reacts to Rylen feels entirely too dramatic. You kissed once, then got stood up and ghosted - I would have taken the hint, but Bry acts heartbroken like they were in a committed romantic relationship.

The book did grow on me as it progressed, even though Rylen nearly gave me a whiplash.
Both Rylen’s and Maddox’s backstory gives some insight into why they act the way they do, though I would have loved to have seen a bit more of that backstory.

Where do I even start with this book?!

This was one of the very first books I discovered when I started my Bookstagram account, and I knew I needed it. Safe to say... it was worth every second of the wait because this book absolutely delivered.

This had everything I could possibly want in an MM dark romance. Obsession. Protective men. Tension so thick you could cut it with a knife. And chemistry that had me kicking my feet one minute and clutching my chest the next.

I was hooked from chapter one and honestly consumed my thoughts every time I had to put the book down.

Maddox... this man. 🖤

He's confident, powerful, successful, and after thirteen years of hiding his feelings, he's finally done pretending he only wants Rylen as a friend. I loved how unapologetic he was when it came to wanting Rylen, and watching him refuse to settle for "just friends" made every interaction between them even more addictive. My heart absolutely broke for him after he was rejected. But what I loved most? He never stopped fighting for the man he loved.

"I'd walk through every painful part of my life again if I knew he was waiting for me at the end of it." - Maddox 😭

Then there's Rylen...😮‍💨

I swear this man had me wanting to climb into the book just to give him the biggest hug. His loyalty to Maddox was beautiful, but he carried so much trauma and self doubt that my heart genuinely ached for him. Every time he pushed Maddox away because he believed he wasn't enough and did not want to ruin their friendship I wanted to yell at him through the pages.

Watching him slowly realise that he was enough...and finally gave in to his feelings honestly made me so emotional. His character growth was one of my favourite parts of the entire book.

The friends to lovers romance was EVERYTHING.

Thirteen years of history meant every stolen glance, every accidental touch, every lingering look carried so much weight. The slow burn was agonising in the best possible way, and when these two finally stopped fighting the inevitable...

And Felicia...I wasn't convinced at all about her at the start. But by the end? Yes I am starting to like her, and now I'm actually excited to read her story.

Thirteen years. These two idiots needed thirteen years, a water park, and a very ill-timed birthday "present" to finally say the thing that's been sitting between them the entire time. I have no notes on the irony of that.

Admit You're Mine is P. Larson's second novel and it reads like one there's a confidence here that the debut didn't quite have. Maddox and Rylen are not easy men. They're products of genuinely brutal childhoods, witnessed murder at eleven, group home abuse, years of surviving on instinct alone and Larson doesn't use that as decoration. It's woven into every fight they pick, every silence they choose, every time one of them protects the other sideways because saying it directly feels like dying.

Maddox is a CHAOS. Infuriating, possessive, running on bravado and barely-contained grief. The kind of character you'd clock immediately as Too Much except Larson writes him in a way that keeps pulling you back in, because underneath all the performance there's someone who has been terrified since he was eleven years old and never quite stopped. Rylen is the harder one to reach, and that's entirely intentional. More controlled, more contained until he isn't and when something in him finally cracks, you feel it.

The slow burn is real and it earns its payoff. The tension builds through conversations that stop just short of the truth, through rooms someone walks out of instead of saying what they mean. But the emotional core of this book is the Bright Futures reveal when Rylen discovers what Maddox has been quietly doing for years, dismantling the system that broke them both from the inside, using his own money and his own leverage to make sure no one else goes through what they did. That scene does something to you. I'm not going to pretend otherwise.

Where the book loses footing is the villain arc. Nathyn is necessary but thin more plot device than actual threat, and his exit feels rushed compared to the emotional weight of everything around him. The opening prologue will also divide readers cleanly down the middle. It's bold, it's explicit, and it sets a very specific tone before you've even met these men properly. Worth knowing going in.

The epilogue, though. Gothic forest wedding, English countryside, Maddox finally showing Rylen the part of himself he kept locked away for someone he knew wouldn't leave. That's the whole book paying off exactly the way it should.

I finished Admit You’re Mine and I genuinely don’t think I came out of it the same person.

This book didn’t just entertain me—it wrecked me politely at first and then absolutely dragged me into emotional chaos when I wasn’t looking.

Because what do you mean this started off as tension and banter and then slowly turned into obsession, control, longing, and that unbearable kind of emotional pull where neither character is winning, they’re just… spiraling into each other?

Rylen and Maddox are not okay. And neither am I.

The dynamic between them is unhinged in the best possible way- every interaction feels like a challenge, like a dare, like neither of them can afford to blink first or they’ll lose something they didn’t even admit they wanted. The chemistry? Insane. The tension? Suffocating. The emotional damage? Immaculate.

There were moments I had to physically pause and stare at my ceiling because WHAT do you mean that just happened. What do you mean they said that. What do you mean I’m suddenly rooting for two people who are clearly one bad decision away from burning everything down—including themselves.

And the worst part? I would let them.

The writing has that addictive quality where you keep telling yourself “one more chapter” and suddenly it’s 3AM and you’re emotionally compromised, dehydrated, and questioning fictional men like they pay your bills.

Also the slow unraveling of whatever this is between them?? Criminal. The way everything simmers underneath the surface until it finally snaps had me gripping my phone like it owed me answers.

And the ending.

No. I refuse to recover.

I don’t know what kind of emotional manipulation was in these pages, but it worked. I feel slightly unwell. Fondly so. But still unwell.

If you like your romance:

- morally questionable in tone

- emotionally violent (affectionate)

- tension so thick it should be illegal

- characters who should probably not be near each other but absolutely cannot stay away


…then read this immediately.

⊹ | 𝘼𝙙𝙢𝙞𝙩 𝙔𝙤𝙪'𝙧𝙚 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙚 by P. Larson is a dark and gritty MM romance. It is the first book in the 𝘏𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘝𝘦𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘵 series and follows Maddox Bakker and Rylen Wilson. This story does explore themes that some readers may find triggering, so be sure to check the TW's.

I absolutely love this book inside and out. The characters were interesting, and their storylines broke my heart during some scenes. I'm usually not a fan of the miscommunication trope, but somehow P. Larson made it work. These men went through hell, and I'm grateful that they finally got their HEA after almost a decade and a half.

This was the first book I've read by P. Larson, and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how I enjoy the next book in the series. I personally thought Flecia was a badass character, and I was intrigued by her and Tristan story. additionally I think the club was a fun setting for the story to take place, which makes me super excited to see what unfolds behind the scenes in book two.

Overall, I love this book so much and devoured it in less than two days. It's one of those underrated gems, and I'm definitely recommending it to anyone who will stop and listen. Not only was I hooked on the characters in their storylines, but I also love the neurodivergent and complex mental health representation. These characters were messy, complicated, and struggled with some deeply emotional challenges. You can tell the author put a lot of effort into making these characters feel raw and real.

This book pissed me the fuck off. Like…genuinely. I wanted to shake both of them. Scream at them. Lock them in a room and force them to just...TALK.

Maddox and Rylen are two of the most frustrating characters I've read in a long time. They're best friends who are so obviously, obliviously in love with each other, but instead of just admitting it, they spend most of the book hurting each other in the worst ways possible. The miscommunication, the jealousy, the running away…it was exhausting to read at times.

But at the same time? I couldn't stop.

Both of them come from incredibly traumatic pasts, and you can feel how deeply that affects every decision they make. Maddox carries so much grief, while Rylen is completely terrified of letting himself be loved. It's messy and toxic and painful, but it also feels very real for characters who never had a safe space to grow up.

There were moments that genuinely broke my heart, especially when they showed up for each other in their darkest moments. Those small, quiet scenes meant more than anything else.

This book frustrated me to no end, but I also understand why it had to be this way. Their journey was hard, and honestly, it felt like it took everything out of me to get to the end.

But that ending?
Worth it.

Seeing them finally choose each other after everything they went through gave me the closure I desperately needed.

What a banger of a first release. P. Larson is officially a one click author for me. I’ve never met characters that I loved but also was extremely frustrated by quite like Maddox and Rylen. This story is a friend's to lovers, dark, MM romance, so if you love any of those tropes, you should snag this book immediately. I was hooked from the first chapter and stayed up far to late to finish it, but who needs sleep anyways. 

Maddox and Rylen are best friends who are so obsessed with each other that its not even funny. The yearning from the very beginning was so intense. I just wanted to them give in and would have knocked their heads together had they been in front of me. The spice is also off the charts. Even though it takes a minute for them to cave, the wait was so worth it. I'm obsessed with this couple and their desire for each other. There's a lot that happens outside of the duo and I dont want to give any spoilers away but you will be thoroughly entertained while reading.

The only thing I wish would have been done just  a little different is more of a back story into the characters and their friendship. We jumped straight into current setting with their obsession which still made for an excellent story, but I would've enjoyed some history in this case. Still an absolute amazing 4.5 star read that I would recommend and read again. I cannot wait to continue the next chapter in this series.

First off no bears is the best comfort line I’ve ever heard 😭😭 secondly Maddox’s playful energy is one of my favorite things about this book. The tension between them is so good both of them clearly falling for each other but too scared to say it out loud. It honestly had me wanting to shake them, because how are you ready to kill for someone but still too afraid to kiss them?? The way they go out of their way to protect each other is everything. They’d let the whole world burn as long as the other was safe, and that level of devotion just hits so hard. Rylen, though… he really tested my patience. He’s so caught up in the fear of ruining their friendship that he doesn’t even realize he’s hurting Maddox more by pushing him away. And Felicia? Yeah… absolutely not. Don’t even get me started on that bitch🙄 I did love Gremlin, though. Her little moments throughout the book are such a small touch, but they add so much charm. And that endin genuinely beautiful. It wrapped everything up in such a satisfying way, and I loved every second of it.

I was incredibly lucky to be chosen as an alpha reader for this book.

When I tell you I was beyond angry after the conclusion of each chapter, I mean it! Waiting on the author to complete another chapter was pure torture, so I firmly believe you’ll have to finish this book in one sitting, as you simply won’t be able to stop reading it until there are no more pages to turn!

The absolute yearning, heartbreak and devastation that takes place between the two mmcs will break you in the best way, and the spicy scenes will definitely give you everything you could ask for and more.

The lurking betrayal and danger of the plot fuels the story just as much as the agonizing slow burn romance, and the way the author ends each chapter with a captivating phrase that hits you straight in the feels is true wizardry.

This was my first book by the author, and I instantly went and ordered her other book after completing this one! Her writing is addicting. You have been warned!

This was a fantastic read.

Now, I’ve never considered myself a fan of friends to lovers…P Larson totally made me eat my words.
Maddox and Rylen are such complex MCs with so much chemistry it’s not even funny.

This is definitely a dark romance full of angst and emotion in the most addictive way, but theres the lightest sprinkle of sweet moments in there too (shout out to Gremlin the cat) and it rounds out these characters and their relationship in a really *real* way.

And, of course, I have to mention the spice. THE SPICE. The author and I had actually discussed spice in books previously, so going into this read I knew she and I were on the same wavelength but LORD - it gave everything I wanted it to and more!

Just wow!

Slowburn isn’t usually my thing, and this was just that. But I could not tear my gaze from this book!!

Did I binge the entire book in one day? You bet I did.

The characters were amazing, still kind of mad at Rylen but that’s just because Maddox is my baby and I’m now protective over him 😂❤️

The writing was absolutely beautiful and P. Larson has definitely become one of my favorite authors. The way she bleeds every word onto the page takes you into their world visually. You can feel the emotion behind the characters deep in your chest, and I loved that.

This book was an easy 5 stars, there was a few times where I was struggling to continue just because of the slowburn but I am so glad I didn’t, because Admit You’re Mine has easily become one of my top reads of the year.

This book is a MM dark romance between Maddox and Rylen. It is filled with jealousy, obsession and years of tension. Admit You're Mine will have you screaming and wishing you could climb through the pages, just to get thes wo boys to sit down and TALK
Maddox and Rylen were constantly going between loyalty to their triendship/wotk and very strong teelings about each other, that they kept trying to ignore. It was a very push pull kind of situation throughout the book and it had me so frustrated, but in the best way. I love both Mads and Ry but omg I was getting so pissed off with the way Rylen was being so hot and cold towards Maddox. I seriously wanted to knock some sense into him haha.
P. Larson did a phenomenal job of writing a story that had me hooked from the beginning and wanting to square up with some of the characters. It was full of angst, intense emotions and a "touch him and die" obsession that I ate up

I was lucky enough to get this ARC by P.Larson and it was a BANGER!!!

Admit You’re Mine by P. Larson completely pulled me in. This story had the perfect mix of tension, emotion, chemistry, and that addictive “just one more chapter” feeling.

The push and pull between the the two MMc’s-Maddox and Rylen was so good—messy, emotional, consuming, sexy as f&ck…. the kind of connection you can feel through the pages. Every interaction carried weight, and the emotional moments hit just as hard as the steamy ones.😮‍💨

What I loved most was how raw and real the emotions felt underneath all the angst and attraction. It wasn’t just romance—it was vulnerability, longing, and two people, two best friends, trying to fight what was already inevitable.

If you love emotionally intense MM romance with tension you could cut with a knife, this one deserves a spot on your TBR

This books starts off with a bang ( seriously 😂) and the tension and push and pull between Maddox and Rylen grows throughout the 90 percent of this book. These two spend more time running from their feeling for each other and trying to hide them so they don't ruin their friendship than they do just embrace it! It made me so mad! Rylen would run after every encounter then Maddox would spiral. it all comes to a head one night where things get pushed to far.

This book hooked me and took me through everything emotion!! Well done!!!

Thirteen years. That’s how long it takes for these two to finally admit what’s been obvious the entire time… and it’s just as frustrating and satisfying as it sounds.

Maddox and Rylen are messy, complicated, and shaped by everything they’ve been through, which makes their connection feel real. They care about each other deeply, but neither of them knows how to say it, so it all comes out in tension, avoidance, and quiet acts of protection. Maddox is chaotic and intense, while Rylen keeps everything locked down… until he doesn’t. The slow burn is painful in the best way, and the payoff actually feels earned.

And the ending really delivers. After everything, seeing them finally choose each other makes the whole journey worth it.

eating my words and asking for seconds 🤣 I never thought I’d be this obsessed with a FTL story but P Larson did it.

Maddox and Rylen have been dancing around each other for 13 yearsss and the tension was literally suffocating 😩 The miscommunication is frustrating as hell (I wanted to shake both of them) but dayummm the payoff is sooo worth it. Loved the no bears comfort line sm and Gremlin the cat gave me actual life. The House of Velvet setting adds such a perfect gritty vibe to the whole thing. If you want a book that hits all your dark romance kinks and makes you cry happy tears this is it. 💖

Oh wow, so this was good. SO much angst, tension, pining and yearning.

These two wanted each other so bad, but both thought they could not have each other.

Both boys have been through a lot in their past, and I think wanted to protect each other. They have always been there for each other, they have an incredible bond.

As they have grown, it’s the sexual tension that was thiiiccckkk

These two have an uphill battle to get to the point they are finally together though.

Maddox though, oh my heart, he just wanted Rylen so bad.

I really enjoyed this and the world building was great.

Once these two gave in to each other, they were so sweet and so hot. Wildly possessive and protective.

This was a solid 4.5 ⭐

I enjoyed the plot of this book. It is a high spice, high angst slow burn though and I struggled a little with the pacing at first. Once I caught onto the subplot however I really got into it and finished in a day. These men both kind of self sabotage the relationship with past traumas and issues. The way they finally come together in the end feels like a hard fought victory. I'm excited to see where this series goes because while we know they work in a club catering to exotic tastes, we don't really see a whole lot there other than Maddox's office and the security office.
