I really liked this - it’s the first time I have read a book with accidental pack-forming as the main storyline, and I found that very interesting. I also like the fact that the pack contains MM and FF as well as MF pairings, as I always find packs make more sense to me when there are varying pairings among the members. I also love the idea of there being kappas and deltas (and gammas) in this Omegaverse along with the more usual alphas, betas and omegas.
I would say that I think it would be quite confusing to read this book if you haven’t read the other books in this universe first. I had read them though, and it was lovely to see previous characters coming back in this story. The two characters I enjoyed most reading about this time were Saoirse and Hale, because I was so invested in their journeys to higher self-worth and the realisation that they deserved both to be loved and to be part of the pack.
For future books in the series I really want to know if Lucky is actually real or not, and more lore about the various other felines that have appeared throughout the books set in this universe.
I remain committed to reading everything Jane Handler writes, as I love her stories.

Yes, we are back in Ms. Handler's Hockeyverse. I would live here if I could. I love all of the characters that we have gotten to read about. New pack alert. Readers who have been reading books in this series know Carlos. Carlos is fun and easy going. He is a Kappa and known for not thinking before he jumps. Carlos has always be fun anytime he is involved. How will his spontaneity translate to a pack or even a relationship? Carlos was dating an omega, Fiona. Fiona was also in a relationship with a delta, Soirsee. Both Fiona and Soirse were assassins. Yep, you heard that right.
The lives of five people change on one trip. Carlos wanted to see his friend perform at -. Dusty was an alpha and a pretty accomplished musician that went by the stage name of BroKen. Soirse and BroKen kinda had a relationship. Soirse did not know that Dusty was BroKen. Surprises galore on this trip from the start. Hale another alpha was also invited. This group had a good time. Feelings could not hide now that they were all together. Nobody could have guessed that Fiona would want to be with Hale and Carlos. Things progressed quickly for this group. After what happened at -, these five have to decide what to do. Will they regret what happened? Fiona’s family was the first to balk and balk loud. They had plans for Fiona and this situation was not it.
The rest of the book is dealing with pack matters. Will these five very different people be able to become a pack? They had a lot of family that had a lot of opinions about everything. Not only is this a new pack with very specific dynamics, they are dealing with the drama that comes with five different families coming together as well. I loved how everyone stepped up. There were a lot of designations in this group that would not normally work with each other. This pack had their work cut out for them. Readers will love every second of this book and not be able to put it down.

Jane Handler has been one of my favorite Omegaverse authors for some time now. I fell in love with her writing when I read Finding The Forward (book 1) of the Hockeyverse Series and I have been hooked ever since.
One Winter Knight is set in the same world as Finding The Forward and Loving Ladybug. It is a standalone and can be read without having read the books before it. It does reference and include characters from the previous books so if you would rather not have any spoilers from them it's best to read them in order.
In this book we get Carlos's story and what a tale it turns out to be! Carlos is a kappa and they are the embodiment of fun and chaos. He has been in a quiet relationship with Fiona, and Omega and professional h¡twoman for a while now. Fiona is also in a relationship with a delta, Saoirse, who is also a professional unaliver. We will also meet Dusty, and Alpha Rockstar that continuously derails Saoirse's jobs and Hale, another Alpha who is the brother to main characters in the previous books.
What I enjoyed most about this book was how the pack was it already formed but created in a unique coupling dynamic. I also loved that we get to see them learn how to be a pack rather than an hea immediately after bonding. We see the real life parts of the relationship. That made this book unique for me and I ate it up!
The spice is it as much as I had expected but what we were given was great. The story line was simply amazing with humor, real world issues, and love. This book was everything I hoped for and more.

Another stunning trip into the Hockeyverse
I've loved the little glimpses of Carlos through the other Hockeyverse books, but actually getting his POV and watching his pack develop is the icing on the cake. Actually, I love all the members of Pack Lovely.
Their story has all the emotion I've come to expect from the Hockeyverse, and just as wild of a ride.
Though, there was a lot less hockey. Only one member of the pack is a hockey player this time around.
While I think the Hockeyverse can be standalones, they are all connected and take place chronically, so spoilers for the other books. Oh! And the story finishes with an HEA! No cliffhangers this time!

This was 4.5 stars and just so fun to read. It felt like the hangover but in book/Omegaverse form and it was just great. We have Fiona the omega, Carlos the kappa, Saoirse the delta, and then Dusty and Hale as the alphas. I love everyone’s separate relationships but also how they take forming an accidental pack seriously and learn to love and support each other. And the way Jane Handler deals with toxic families and ex’s was just great. I loved this story and this whole hockey verse world.

It has a potentially off-putting yet binge-worthy feel, made for fans of sprawling serial romances: the sheer volume of chapters and plot threads reads less like a run-of-the-mill romance novel than the first “book” in an epic series.
For me personally, one of the greatest strengths of this book was its complex character development and the way Jane ensured that all the relationships were not only strong but also sometimes somewhat uneasy; those two things tied everyone together. Carlos, our MMC, hockey player and kappa, was truly a breath of fresh air when it comes to the typical alpha trope: he’s imperfect, messy to his core, and yet he loves to his core, and you can see his vulnerability. You can see how Carlos is defined by his earnestness, and his commitment to Fiona feels almost poetic in many ways.
Fiona is complex herself as an omega assassin, and I found this to be a new, unique, intriguing twist to the omega trope. And as an omega trope more than that, this makes her very dangerous. Jane has managed to balance this story perfectly, with all the rapid-fire and the reality of how an FMC with such a dangerous career could mesh so beautifully within a poly pack dynamic, and the way two dominant families could wield such powerful influence can be both an asset and a burden to confront.
Carlos & Fiona, along with Hale, who is an academic alpha, Dusty, who you probably guessed is a rockstar, and Saoirse, who's a total bad-ass delta assassin, round out the love interests in this dynamic polyamorous setup. All the characters feel fully fleshed out, with believable insecurities and goals. Jane responds with both humor and tenderness, displaying the give-and-take needed to build a family outside society. What I found truly compelling, though, especially against the backdrop of trauma and past betrayals, is the developing romance between hesitant Hale and guarded Saoirse; it feels like an open-hearted slow burn built on trust and acceptance.
The pacing is fast and sometimes frantic, matching the characters' harried lives. Progressive and well-thought-out, this world contains polyamory and same-sex pairings, free healthcare, and real gender equality. The glossary provided did not detract from the story but helped clarify some of the more beautiful but specialized language used throughout.
Jane employs a style that is at once accessible and ravishing; her prose is both crisp with the thrill of dialogue and sage in its internal monologues. She deftly paints the range of emotions, especially the inward toughness that veils alpha-male bravado or kappa risk-taking. Jane Handler is exceptional in the way she can write a book with multiple POV's and include cameos from her previous books in a story, and do it well. This is a lengthy novel, so pace yourself and enjoy!
It is full of dialogue and backstory that if you have not read any previous books of Jane's then you might get lost in all that is happening and who she is referring to. Also, the nicknames, as everyone has one! The multiple names and references to other packs and family members that you would know if having read previous books may get lost on someone who has picked up this book as a first time read by Jane Handler. In saying all that this is an exceptional read!
I was so looking forward to Carlos's story and it did not disappoint.
Carlos and Fiona met in Quebec, and this meeting is highlighted in the novella One Summer Day, which is beneficial to read prior to One Winter Night, but not absolutely necessary.
Carlos was determined to get to know Fiona better after their "weekend get together" in Quebec. He lived in New York and she lived in Boston. He knew he could make it work.
Fiona, treating her meeting with Carlos as a week end fling, did not think she would ever see him again.
Enter...the beginning of One Winter Knight...

As they all prepare to leave the festival Fiona goes into an unexpected heat. With Carlos and Hale and Saoirse there also, they managed to get through it. Plus it was a very short heat!
A snow storm hits and they are stranded at the resort.
Waking up, not knowing what day it was or what had happened....Fiona felt the stirrings of feelings that were not her own. Understanding soon dawned on them all as Carlos and Hale had bonded with Fiona and each other. Fiona had bonded with Saoirse and Dusty and Saoirse had also bonded! Whew!! Yep seems like a clusterf*ck ready for failure!
Hence the start of a new pack for Fiona and her misfits.
This story does have its moments! There are plenty of spicy scenes, ie: Smut as Dusty and Saoirse get to know one another more intimately. And Fiona, Hale and Carlos also like their time together! Some FF, MM and MMF scenes are encountered!
The new pack consists of Fiona, Carlos and Hale together with Dusty and Saoirse together and Fiona and Saoirse still girlfriends. Fiona always reiterated that she was a package deal when it came to her and Saoirse!
This story revolves around 5 people who had only known each other briefly, except for the boys. Hale and Carlos and Dusty had been besties for years
I loved their time in Switzerland, and then they had to make it work within a 6 month timeframe set by Fiona's Alpha fathers.
All good, these guys could handle it!
From being a single Omega to suddenly being packed up, Fiona knew that they could make it all work.
They all had their hidden demons to fight with their individual family issues and this all plays out as the story progresses.
With a couple of twists to the story just to add to the ride.
An overall entertaining and enjoyable read.
It is full of dialogue and backstory that if you have not read any previous books of Jane's then you might get lost in all that is happening and who she is referring to. Also, the nicknames, as everyone has one! The multiple names and references to other packs and family members that you would know if having read previous books may get lost on someone who has picked up this book as a first time read by Jane Handler. In saying all that this is an exceptional read!
I was so looking forward to Carlos's story and it did not disappoint.
Carlos and Fiona met in Quebec, and this meeting is highlighted in the novella One Summer Day, which is beneficial to read prior to One Winter Night, but not absolutely necessary.
Carlos was determined to get to know Fiona better after their "weekend get together" in Quebec. He lived in New York and she lived in Boston. He knew he could make it work.
Fiona, treating her meeting with Carlos as a week end fling, did not think she would ever see him again.

Chaos Kappa Carlos creates a pack
If you are unfamiliar with Jane's books you can still enjoy this story but you will miss out on all the little easter eggs. In order to meet all of the important people in this story you would need to read Finding the Forward, Loving Ladybug, the Parallel Universe series and the prequal novella Once Summer Night. I do think you can enjoy Carlos story without the other books but you will not get the reasons behind some peoples thoughts and actions. Also, Lucky is really going to confuse you. lol
I have never read an accidental bonding book or even of a pack quite like this one. I absolutely love it. I loved that this all happened on vacation and lined up so ever Saoirse's situationship was there. This is honestly such a fantastic group and they really come together when someone is struggling. They also made their dynamics work without making anyone uncomfortable which I thought was amazing.
I loved watching Dusty break down Saoirse's walls. He did it in such a way that showed his care and respect. He was fantastic at being what she needed without putting too much pressure on her and it was beautiful to see their love break through.
Oh sweet baby Hale. His family is such a mess and it has definitely made it hard for him in this pack situation. He loves his packmates but doubts himself. He is young and struggling to find his place in the world. The fact that he wants to do better shows so much about who he is. I loved how his siblings encouraged and helped him to see his worth. However, that big moment when he realized how much his pack would do to show he mattered was huge.
I loved seeing the character growth. Everyone had to find their new normal and work to make sure their pack was a success. They may have stumbled along the way but the others were there to help them get back up. They became a family and all of their extended families were there to offer support and guidance as well.
Overall this was exactly the kind of chaos I would have expected for Carlos. I loved every moment.
This quote from Fiona about Hockey had me giggling so much and I will never forget this description.:
"Even though I'd watched hockey last night, I still didn’t really understand what was happening. I just watched as the players skated around with knives for feet, trying to get the puck in the net past a monster in pillows."

This was such a fun read, though don't get me wrong it's not all fun, games and chaos. There were plenty of times when I was unexpectedly hit with the feels.
The first time being when Dusty literally crumbled and started crying after something Saoirse said to him when she was lashing out, trying to push him away. Both Dusty and Hale had their hangups and fears about their designations, for vastly different reasons.
My heart really broke for Hale though. The more we get from each of the Thorne siblings, the more I really hate their parents. In one phone call they crushed their son, for no other reason than projecting their own failures and shortcomings, and blaming their kids for it. That said, I do hope we get a little more information around a 'corrupted bond' in future works.
There were times when I felt Saoirse and Fiona needed more time together, and they did. In the end, there was a pretty good balance between each of the individual relationships within Pack Lovely, as well as the overall relationship.
Really looking forward to Dimitri's story, that big softie deserves his HEA. Also need Mercy's, because I don't think I'll ever get sick of reading about the Thorne siblings.

This is the next installment of the hockey verse series. While you don’t have to read finding the forward duet or loving ladybug duet before reading this, personally I think you should. There are characters from the other books mentioned and seen in here. There is also the prequel, One summer day. Again you don’t have to read it, but I would. You get to see how Carlos meets Fiona and Soarise and the start of his and Fiona’s relationship. The prequel isn’t long and it’s full of fun and spice.
This book will make you say aww, make you swoon, blush, maybe cry, and cheer. There is also a lot of spice.
I loved getting to know Carlos more. Seeing how he became a pack is kind of on brand for him since he’s a kappa and they’re chaotic.
Jane does an amazing job with her storytelling. Her characters are relatable and interesting and amazing. It’s fun to see how she writes each character and how they will complement everyone in the pack.
I loved how she wrote how Dusty and Soarise actually met. The fact that he was always interrupting missions was actually hilarious.
Those two are perfect for each other. They balance each other out. Soarise is serious and all business and Dusty brings out her softer side. While Dusty is the crazy and fun alpha, Soarise tames that craziness and makes him a bit more serious.
I felt so much for both Soarise and Hale. They both grew up with shitty parents who always made you feel bad. Their parents did so much damage to them that they both thought they weren’t worthy of love. When in reality those two deserve it the most. Thankfully being in the pack unexpectedly was a good thing. They both grew as people and were finally able to not only receive that love but also give it.
Seeing this group a people who barely know each other come together and do everything to make this pack work is truly special. They support each other, fight for one another, would burn down the world for them. These books really take the found family trope to heart.

Watching him try so hard to be accepted absolutely broke my heart. There were so many moments where I just wanted to reach into the book, grab him, and tell him that he deserved to belong. His journey hit me harder than I expected because you could feel how badly he wanted that connection and acceptance. It was heartbreaking at times, but that made the turning point between Hale and his pack even more powerful.
And that turning point? Absolute perfection.
Watching everything begin to shift and seeing Hale finally find his place within the pack was one of my favorite parts of the entire book. It felt emotional, meaningful, and so incredibly satisfying after everything he had been through. Those moments of acceptance and connection are exactly why I love pack dynamics and found-family elements so much.
Dusty and Saoirse were absolutely great! I loved what they brought to the story and the way all of the different personalities worked together. And Carlos, Fiona, and Hale? I loved them so much. Their individual dynamics, their connections, and the way they each fit into the pack made this book impossible for me to put down.

I was really excited about reading this one. I'm just bummed that the story felt like it ran away, had to DNF.
Story about Fiona, Carlos, picked up their friend Hale to a Winter Fest. And Fiona brought her girlfriend Saoirse, and met up with rockstar Dusty.
So here's my take:
Saoirse (Delta - badass assassin) is like the mother hen, keeping Fiona safe (omega - assassin mercenary), who is worshipped by Carlos (beta -hockey player). Hale (Alpha - grad student) has a crush on Carlos but is also good buds. The reasons why they were invited to this Winter Fest in Switzerland is because of rockstar Dusty (Alpha).
They have fun, they ate, they drank, they took recreational drugs. That combo caused Fiona to go in Heat and Carlos and Hale were going to help her out, except they accidentally got bonded. Mainly, they are just so Heat hazed and drugged that they have no idea they did that. Meanwhile, Dusty really is in love with Saoirse, which she's a hard nut to crack given how messed up her family is. But Dusty is begging and she's willing to try. Since Saoirse and Fiona is already girlfriends, they bonded too, there you have a pack of 5 people.
Here's my thing, I love the personalities, the coitus, but post nut clarity came in. That's all fine until we add in the fathers, the moms, the siblings, the teammates.... their reaction to this pack, to the mates, to the drama. And while, that's all good and fine; however, the detail was too deep in the rabbit hole. I feel like if we do a series and break it down, it's cool. But trying to squeeze it all into one book was too much. I lost interest part way, I just want to see our main pack on how they deal with life stuff as they finally, maturely, after shock and panic get over mating accidentally. And maybe they did get to all that, but I left at 54%. I may pick it up at a later time, but have to walk away for now. :(

Jane Handler, you’ve done it again—my heart is absolutely exploding with emotion! I am utterly consumed by this series and fall deeper in love with every single pack that you gift us. I knew from the very beginning that Carlos had stolen a piece of my soul, but what you revealed in this instalment shattered my heart in the most beautiful way. It made me love him even more—more fiercely, more passionately. And Hale—oh, don’t even get me started on him! The glimpses we got before, him trying so hard to be accepted, full of fun and mischief, but secretly hiding a vulnerability that tore right through me. Watching him battle so desperately to belong, to be seen, was enough to make me ache inside. I wanted so badly to reach into that book, to grab him and whisper, 'Mate, you do belong—even if the world tells you otherwise.' His journey struck me deeply, more than I ever expected, because I could feel that raw, burning desire for connection and acceptance. It was heartbreaking at times, yet those moments made the triumphant shift between Hale and his pack all the more powerful and inspiring.
As always, you remind us that no matter what society or anyone tries to box us into, we are so much more. It’s okay to open up, to let people in, to accept help. We don’t have to carry every burden alone or put on a brave face all the time. That message hits me straight in the heart every single time, and it’s something I’ll carry with me forever.

I knew Carlos’s story was going to be crazy, but I was not prepared for the level of chaos that was about to happen. One of the dads definitely said it best when he said the pack sounded like a joke “a hockey player, a musician, a chemist PhD student, & two assassins walk into a bar” 🤣
I had to do a refresher on the different designations since it had been a minute since I’d read any of Jane’s books & I couldn’t remember exactly what Kappas & Deltas were meant to be like.
Fiona was amazing. Her Dads made me angry for a minute, but they were coming from a place of love so I got over that. Being reminded of how absolutely horrible the Thorne parents were helped with that. I hate that Hale’s parents are still being so absolutely horrible. Most of them are people that very clearly never should have had children & every time we get a new sibling’s story it proves it to me that much more. I’m glad that Hale has Carlos & Fiona to show him the love & support he should have always had.
Dusty and Saoirse were possibly the best part of this for me. Saorise gave Dusty the opportunity to be more than just his musician alter ego, BroKen. If it weren’t for Dusty I don’t think Saoirse would have ever healed from what her family put her through. With Fiona she was able to stay in that safe bubble she had made for herself without really working through her issues, but Dusty challenged that in a way she really needed.
I love getting to lose myself in this world Jane has created so much. I always love getting more glimpses into Grace & her pack’s lives. I really want the original Thorne pack to have to be held accountable for all they did & continue to do to their children…I feel like more of that will come in the parallel OV series. Dimitri seems to be there for every single person in the Knights orbit….I am so ready to see him get a happy ending of his own!
I had to do a refresher on the different designations since it had been a minute since I’d read any of Jane’s books & I couldn’t remember exactly what Kappas & Deltas were meant to be like.

3.5 but rounding up because I love Carlos.
This is so crazy to say from a book that is over 700 pages but I really wanted more. I loved the hangover vibes mixed with a snowed in romance and the dynamics of this group so much. But I really felt like I was missing so much character development and relationship building. Which are my favorite parts!
So much of this book takes place during the rave which leads to a surprise heat that by the time we get back to everyday life and we see these strangers try to learn how to be a pack there are huge jumps and merely mentions of the growing pains. Fiona knows next to nothing about Hale and is talking about babies in six months. It felt so strange and rushed.
I have been waiting for Carlos and Hale's book since I read Verity's. I was so excited. And then their relationship is so tiny and barely even present it was so frustrating.
However, I did love a lot about this book too. Fiona and Saoirse. I loved these two amazing woman together. So many times I read omegaverse if I can even get two woman in a pack it's a new relationship and the fact that these two have loved each other for so long was beautiful. More FF in omegaverse!!! Carlos has been a favorite and I just love him even more now. The addition of Dusty was so much fun and chaotic. I LOVE him! My sweet baby Hale. He is so much fun in the little snippets we see of him in other books that I couldn't wait for his love story but I don't feel like I got it. I still love him and seeing him learn to love himself and work through all the the Thorne trauma was beautiful. Justice for Hale!

It all begins with "the Christmas of our lives."
What a wonderful story!
Once again, Jane completely captivated me with her spectacular storytelling. She has such a talent for creating immersive, addictive stories filled with wonderfully unconventional characters who are hilarious but also incredibly sweet and lovable.
This is a story about amazing friendships, people who know how to have fun, and deep emotions mixed with insecurities, especially those shaped by painful past experiences.
It's a different take on the omegaverse. Jane brings so much more diversity to the genre by introducing additional designations, which I absolutely love, while still delivering plenty of steam and intensity. It never feels lacking in passion.
One of my favorite aspects of this expanded system is that it doesn't limit relationships. A person's designation doesn't determine who they're attracted to; what matters is the connection with the person as a whole.
Our main characters are in a poly relationship, and I really enjoyed the way their dynamic was developed.
The FMCs are badass women, each with a wonderfully distinct personality, while the MMCs are funny, sweet, loyal, and have such big hearts.
And the twists? OMG, they had me practically jumping out of my seat!
Some are woven into the story so subtly that my reaction was, "Wait... what?!" Others hit like a freight train, leaving me thinking, "What just happened?! OMG!"

Ever since I read Finding the Forward and read about Carlos and his silly antics and how welcoming and supportive he was to his team and family I was curious if he would ever get his own story.
This book delivered. You get to see a side of Carlos that you don’t really know he has when he’s a side character in the other books. He is an amazing person who shows up for his people.
Hale oh my goodness my heart hurts for him and I just want to hug him.
Dusty is Carlos’s twin and they just fit each other.
Fiona is one feisty omega who will not let you walk all over her and Carlos will do anything for her. I was so happy to get the prequel book before this one came out. It helped to set the tone and even if you don’t read it you will not be missing anything because they talk about how they met and what happened.
Saoirse is someone who takes a lot to let her walls down and I think she is the perfect person to be with this pack.
I love how each of them are just what each of them needs and it was so refreshing to see a pack that not everyone was with everyone and it worked.
There was hilarity throughout the book, mystery, and a lot of random rescue missions. This book had me turning pages just to keep figuring out what happened next and I loved the antics the guys got into and how exited they were to help raise money for Squires and charities.

I love this book a ridiculous amount. I love all of Jane Handler's books and this was such a fun addition to the universe! While there are new characters and new stories, it goes and touches on all the other books' characters and answered some stuff I was wondering about.There are Easter eggs galore! It's a little different in tone from her other books, but every bit as enjoyable. Still super sweet and wholesome. Still spicy. Just a little more chaotic. I love all the characters, but I absolutely ADORE Dusty! There's finally FF, which I was really hoping Jane would write at some point. The accidental pregnancy in this is super cute. It's not traumatic if that's an issue for you. And this book is so funny! My husband asked me if I was okay because I laughed so hard at one part. I highly recommend you also read the short prequel, One Summer Day. It's available for free. You can find links to it on Jane Handler's socials. It's also super cute!
If you are a fan of her other books, I think you'll enjoy how this one fits with the others. Thank you, Jane, for my ebook copies of Carlos & Packs Romance. Carlos is a familiar character from the HockeyVerse, As one of the Knights Hockey Players & I was beyond excited to get his story. There was also another familiar character, which I was surprised about but beyond happy that they also were getting their HEA.
As with Jane's other HockeyVerse, why choose Omegaverse books, the path to a pack HEA is never straightforward. One Winter Knight, started with a shock. Readers were then taking back to the build-up to this event. But the HEA did not happen when readers got to the shock oh no, there were many more twists & their HEA.

I was so excited to get an ARC for One Winter Knight. I already love this series, but the reading a book about a Kappa designation had me hooked from the start. Add in FF representation in an omegaverse where FMC's aren't just omega or beta, and I couldn't wait to dive in.
One of the things Jane Handler does incredibly well is packing so much into every chapter. I was only 15% of the way through before it felt like I'd already been on a huge journey with these characters. Then I hit 40% and genuinely had the thought, "Surely I'm nearly finished?" before realising this book is enormous! It never felt bloated, though. Instead, it felt like eating a proper five course meal instead of grabbing a quick snack. There are so many conversations, little moments, and character interactions that make the world feel lived in.
This is a very character-driven story, and that's exactly what I want. Watching the relationships develop, seeing the pack communicate openly, and spending time with such a wonderfully chaotic mix of was easily my favourite part of the book. Jane has a real talent for making a group dynamic feel authentic, and I loved getting to know everyone.
I also really love how consent was handled throughout the book. The check-ins and communication felt natural.
The characters were a lot of fun too. I love how responsible Carlos was about recognising his own limits. Fiona had several moments that genuinely made me laugh, and Hale absolutely stole my heart. I just wanted to wrap him in a blanket and tell him everything was going to be okay.
Reading this made me go back and re-read the rest of the books in this universe, its that good!

4.5 stars. This extra long story is quintuple POV, well written, and a steamy, funny, emotional, complex and detailed, multi relationship, erotic omegaverse romance featuring Fiona, the female omega assassin lead, Saoirse, the female delta assassin/private security provider lead, Carlos, the male kappa professional ice hockey player lead, Dusty, the male alpha rockstar lead, and Hale, the male alpha college student lead. I adored that this story focused on the variety of intimate relationships, including an MMF triad, a pre-existing FF relationship, and a MF relationship; it was not centred around the omega, and the extra length allowed for all characters to have a significant amount of page time. I enjoyed Fiona’s comfortable certainty that she could have whatever she desired out of life. I adored Carlos and Dusty’s focus and patience for their respective partners, and their determination to convince them to make a relationship permanent. I enjoyed the supportive communities that the characters were part of. I enjoyed Saoirse’s independence and confidence. I enjoyed Hale’s character development. I enjoyed the many and varied intimate scenes. I enjoyed the non-intimate relationship development within the pack that allowed them to establish a future.

There are a a couple of things I loved about this book. Firstly there was cultural diversity which was so refreshing and so much cooking of mouth watering delicacies I hope I'll be lucky to try out sometime. Each of the characters spoke at least two languages (Saoirse spoke nine although only three to four were actively used). Another thing was how Saoirse learned to love herself and Dusty which definitely wasn't a smooth path. The queer relationship both FF and MM was delightful. I think the accidental heat and bonding threw me off a bit even though I was warned. There's also the part where Saoirse pins Dusty to the wall and impales herself on him which I am unsure if that is a position that could work especially since he wasn't carrying her. Each member of the pack had some trauma but Hale's was harder to keep track of(I think the titles confused me on who was who). I was a bit confused on the numerous names although I think that is to be expected considering that I haven't read earlier books in the series but that didn't stop me from enjoying this. I just think things went a little fast for Fiona and Hale. Another thing that I disliked was when Saoirse didn't want to do drugs and the group including her girlfriend pressured her making it sound like she was being a spoilsport. I'll definitely love to read more books in the series especially if there's a book about Dimitri.

I really like how the author includes other designations beyond the typical A/B/O, in this omegaverse. It adds a fun and interesting dynamic to the pack. These characters are very well developed and the backstories of each bring a lot to the plot. Each character is going through something while they are trying to build a life together as a pack. The story is told through multiple POVs, so you feel like you understand the motivations of each character. I loved all the pairings - but Carlos and Hale are my favorite!
While I very much enjoyed this book, I felt it was a bit long and parts were dragged out.

What he wasn't expecting to come from this was a sudden heat from Fiona and a multitude of bonds formed between the five of them, creating a pack. They now need to navigate life together, including a hockey career, a famous musician, two assassins, and a college student. Add in supportive and unsupportive families, and it could be a disaster waiting to happen. It could also be the best thing that's ever happened to the five of them.
This pack gets their happy ending in this standalone book in a series.
I had read another Omegaverse book by Handler and loved it, but something about this book didn't click with me, and I struggled to get through the book. I did love all the different relationships that were happening and how open the different couples were to how the different pairings worked together, but were also not together as well. Great read!!! I have been dying for Carlos’ story since I met him!! And it did not disappoint. There was spice, love, hard work and pure chaos!!!! This book is thicccc and will take you on a chaos filled adventure. We get minimal angst with the perfect amount of drama.

Great read!!! I have been dying for Carlos’ story since I met him!! And it did not disappoint. There was spice, love, hard work and pure chaos!!!! This book is thicccc and will take you on a chaos filled adventure. We get minimal angst with the perfect amount of drama.

I am trying to get into reading the Omegaverse books but I'm not sure if it is for me so please keep that in mind when you read my review. I am still getting used to all of the terms used and what they mean. First I loved a lot of this book the characters are so well developed and their relationships with each other are all different but are just as strong as the others. Having not read the other series in the Hockeyverse I did miss out on meeting some of the characters before. I did read One Summer Knight and I do recommend reading that first so you see when Carlos meets Fiona and Soarise.
But I did find this book long (I know there is a lot of detail but it is over 700 pages and many of them could be edited down) and I was very confused for parts of the book, again probably because some of the characters come from the other series but there were some missing pieces for me.
I did love the relationship and pack that they all formed and how they fought for each other. Their love really came off the page. There is so much fun on the page but also dealing with family drama and not living up to what you think other people want from you, there are some good life lessons here.

OK I was already quite fond of Carlos; I love how carefree he is and how kindhearted he is. I love Dusty and Hale too, but I have been able to know Carlos the most. The three of these guys are goofballs on their own. Fiona and Saoirse are sexy, confident assassins and I adore them. I love that this book has a representation of a variety of the designations just in this pack to be. This story is full of action, spice and romance. There is danger and adventure, and I was there for it. There is a lot that happens and I do not want to spoil anything. Just be aware you are in for a ride, and this is a story of a pack in the making and not a pack that already existed. I enjoy that this is a hockey story but not just a hockey story. The relationship between each character is different for each and that does not make any of them mean more then the other. I love the complicated yet simple dynamics between all five of them. This is a very spicy book so please be aware of that when you begin. Though, unless you start with this book in this Omegaverse series, you will already be aware of the style and of the type and amount of spice within this realm and this book.
I look forward to the next installment of this series. I love all of Jane Handler’s works. Enjoy the journey as I have.

Hat off to Jane Handler for another amazing installment in the Hockeyverse Series! First, I've tried to write this review multiple times - so we're just going off vibes and chaos so there's that. I'll start that while you could read this as a standalone - I don't really recommend it - all of Jane's Hockeyverse books are connected - their timelines follow each other, overlap a bit and characters carry over - so there can be alot to keep up with if you haven't met previous primary and secondary characters. This book, is delightful CHAOS in all the best ways OV can be! Jane was my gateway to Omegaverse and I specifically love how she writes her designations and often times out of the "traditional" OV set. In this book, we have 2 Alphas, 1 Omega, 1 Kappa (PURE CHAOS) and 1 Delta - which gives us a College Student (Hale), a rock star (Dusty) 2 professional lady assassins (Fiona and Saoirse) and a hockey player (Carols). This is a MMFFM why choose and I really loved how their relationships came together and developed, both as couples, throuples and a pack. This is a long book - so we didn't get any wild cliffy's that left us waiting for the next installment and I love that for us. I loved seeing our current MC's interact with previous MC's and meeting everyone's families. The pack def falls into a found family theme, but they also gain amazing families from each other in a variety of different looks (another way I appreciate Jane showing packs). Anyway, this was a fun and even cozy read and I think everyone needs Hockeyverse and Pack Himbo/Lovely in their lives! Thanks Jane for a chance to ARC read this!
