Cage spent most of his life as a carefree bachelor. It was a good life with no attachments and a solid job working with his brothers to catch bad guys. Everything changed in an instant when he was crippled on the job, and he watched a man die to save his life.
Now, months later, Cage is still confronting the demons of self-worth and his guilt over the other man’s death, along with growing feelings for Whitney, an attractive vet who seems to think he’s still a shallow playboy.
Whitney doesn't want to get tangled up with a playboy. She thinks she knows Cage’s type and would rather be alone than risk her heart getting torn apart.
When someone starts leaving strange items at her vet clinic, she finds the only man she can trust to help is the one man she’s afraid of getting to know.

After leaving the frozen tundra of the north, Madison was more surprised than anyone with how much she has enjoyed living in the desert. Seeing as she had stated on more than one occasion how much she hated the heat, it was an odd move. But it seemed her hatred for sub-zero temps and ice, or really the things that ice could do, won out in the end.
When she’s not writing, she’s enjoying time with her family. Madison and her family frequent festivals in the area, as well as local cultural events, and spend time with family in the area. In the summer she is most likely to be found in the pool with the family and in the winter by the fireplace. Since both her children are autistic, days can be a little chaotic but with her husband beside her, there’s nothing she can’t handle. Luckily he is also an author and able to share in all the activities (and chores) special needs kids require.

This book flopped for me. Whitney came off as a judgmental bitch for most of the book. Her assumptions were ridiculous and shitty when it
came to her perceptions of Cage.
Also, within the same paragraph she will be thinking how much she doesn't like the playboy man-whore and how he's so terrible for her. Then instant switch to 'well shucks, I guess I'll date him'... It was emotional whiplash. So much so, I had myself convinced either I missed something? Or maybe there were editing errors.
Cage came off as clueless. Not a very book boyfriend kinda guy, but at least he wasn't shitty.
It wasn't the worst book ever. And I did finish it. So there's that.

Cage, the former man whore finally falling in love with a sweet Vet. Great story I'm glad she finally said yes to a date not the way she wanted but in the end they were cute together and the "adoptive" son they gained. Hope to read more from this family

unprotected sex with a man-whore is irresponsible and stupid. The author made it a point in every other book to mention the condom but not the man-whore.
There was very little story here. She never talked about her family with him.

Cage’s story is kinda sad. His injury has made life hard for him. Going from being a playboy to a man in love proves hard for him. I love how vulnerable he is.

I absolutely loved this storyline and the characters. But the book as a whole was a disappointment. The editing was really bad all the way through and there is a scene(on page 1410) between Cage and Whitney which is so mixed up. Unfortunately these things interfered to much for me to give a higher star rate!

Ok. So he was a total clueless idiot about what a date is but you have to give him credit it had come was too easy for him. Whitney is smart and does not give him a chance to be charming cage but the real cage. Love how sweet and loyal Alex is. You gotta love Marilyn. His mom is hilarious. Can't wait for the next book. !!!!

Oh Cage you reformed manwhore you!!
What a sweet and a little gut wrenching story. I love Whitney and her sass and her no bullshit attitude. I was a little heartbroken about the dogs but loved Hank...I have a rescue beagle and they are the best dogs ever!! Date night was just hilarious!! I am super happy that Whitney took the lead on that ;) can't wait to read more!!!
