This book is fiction and there are two main characters called James and Spring Rain. James is living with his grandfather and he is interested in grandfather’s book on Anasazi culture . On the other hand, Spring Rain is an Anasazi girl of the thirteenth century. Basically, the story is about how they live the life together. At first, they have trouble with communicating each other because they speak different languages. However, they try to communicate by drawing the picture and gesture, so they start to become good friends even thought they are different religious and speak language. Little by little, they start to fall in love. however, the conflict starts since here, because they have different religious. Therefore, Spring Rain mother start to feel uncomfortable to see James and Spring Rain are spending time together. Spring Rain mother tries to break up their relationship by arguing with Spring Rain, but Spring Rain will not hear what her mother says. After that, her mother allows Spring Rain to spend time with James and lastly, James and Spring Rain become good relationship with each other.

In my opinion, I could enjoy reading this book except for the beginning of the story because it does not have any fun part such as conflict. It just talked about the background of the each character. However, as I read this story, I start to enjoy reading because the story has a good plot on it. Even thought it is complicated story because it talks about the religious at the beginning of the story, it has good external conflict in the story and sometimes the story has good imagery on it so that I actually could image the situation of the story. Usually, I do not like to read the fiction because sometimes it is hard to connect the personal experience, but in this story, because the character is young people and their love, it was easy to connect the story and my personal experience. As a result, I enjoyed reading this story because it has a good plot, literary device and it was easy to connect the story and personal experience.
