I grew up among the citrus trees and salt air of Florida, where stories were as common as thunderstorms and family ties run deep.

Raised in a blue-collar family with roots stretching back to orange groves, I learned early on that resilience and heart were the cornerstones of any good life (and any good story). Summers were spent barefoot, climbing trees and riding bikes down dirt roads, while the grown-ups swapped stories over potluck dinners and folding chairs in the backyard.

Books were a constant escape and a secret dream. With a lineage full of storytellers, veterans, and caretakers, it was only natural that one day I would start weaving tales of love, strength, and second chances. Drawing on the quiet dignity of working-class life, and the romance tucked between everyday moments, I write stories that feel like home: warm, genuine, and always a little sun-kissed.

Though the name on the cover might belong to one, the voice behind the pen is shaped by many generations of grit, grace, and just a touch of Southern charm.

Country Roads Volume 1: A Year of Southern Small Town Romance completely consumed my life for like two straight days and honestly? I regret nothing. This series has everything I love: messy feelings, small town gossip, stubborn people falling in love against their will, porch-swing energy, and enough emotional yearning to power an entire state. 🌾😭

Every single couple brought something different and I got so attached to this town that by the end I was ready to file paperwork to become an honorary resident.

Genny and Thomas in New Beginnings absolutely wrecked me emotionally because second chance romance will forever be my kryptonite. There’s just something about two people who loved each other once trying to find their way back after life knocked them around a little that gets me EVERY TIME. The history between them felt so real and tender and painful in the best way.

Then Violet and Lincoln in Heartfelt Beginnings rolled in and suddenly I was giggling and stressed simultaneously. Brother’s best friend romances are elite when done right and THIS ONE DID IT RIGHT. The chemistry, the tension, the “we absolutely should not be doing this” vibes? Delicious. I was kicking my feet one second and clutching my chest the next.

Jamerson and Bella in Lucky Beginnings had me so soft. SO SOFT. Their relationship felt patient and emotional and layered, and I loved the way trust was built between them. Jamerson fully gave protective southern man energy without being overbearing and I ate it UP.

But Abigail and Weston in Stormy Beginnings??? THESE TWO. Lord help me. Put two stubborn people with unresolved tension in the same room and suddenly I become a Victorian ghost rattling chains in excitement. Their banter had sparks flying everywhere and underneath all the fighting was this deep connection that made every emotional moment hit even harder.

And the bonus epilogues?? T.C. Lynndale knew exactly what she was doing because I am greedy and I ALWAYS need more time with couples after the ending. Give me the future happiness. Give me the domestic fluff. Give me all the small town updates like I’m the nosiest neighbour alive.

This whole collection felt warm, emotional, comforting, and ridiculously bingeable. Like a country song wrapped in a hug with just enough angst to keep your heart in a chokehold. Five stars easily and now I desperately need the rest of the series immediately. 🤠💕

Country Roads Volume 1 by TC Lynndale and Ericka Chestnutt is the first installment in what will be a yearlong series of small-town, insta-love Southern romance stories, covering January through April.
January’s New Beginnings is a small-town second-chance romance about Thomas and Genny. After her divorce, Genny returns home and reconnects with Thomas when he responds to a kitchen fire at her parents’ house. Their relationship moves quickly, but it works for the story as they realize they gave up on each other too soon and still have strong feelings.
February’s Heartfelt Beginnings is a small-town, brother’s-best-friend romance with a former pro-athlete hero. Lincoln returns home after a brutal injury and drives away two physical therapists with his stubborn attitude. Violet, a physical therapist who has always had a crush on him, is his last chance to recover without permanent damage. I enjoyed watching their connection grow as he finally starts to see her differently.
March’s Lucky Beginnings is a small-town, age-gap protector romance. Jameson is a former military man, and Bella is a fiery Latina who has run from an abusive ex. Once Jameson stops holding himself back because of the age difference, their relationship really heats up. I loved how safe he made Bella feel, and her sass made this story especially fun. I only wish this one had been longer, because I really enjoyed the chemistry and the spice.
April’s Stormy Beginnings is a small-town enemies-to-lovers romance between the town veterinarian and an interior designer looking for a fresh start. Weston is cranky when they first meet, while Abigail is distracted and trying to settle into a new life. Daisy the dog was definitely a standout, and things really begin to shift between Weston and Abigail after Daisy is injured. This one was not my favorite of the four, mostly because some parts felt a little too rushed.
Overall, each story blends drama and emotion in an engaging way, and for the most part, I really enjoyed this collection. My biggest issue is that, because the stories are so short, there are moments when the character and relationship development feel limited, which makes some of the romances seem rushed. Even so, I’m definitely looking forward to reading the rest of the series. If you enjoy small-town insta-love romances with happy endings, this collection is worth picking up. There is a little spice, but overall these stories are sweet, light, and easy reads.

4 books in 1. A year of small town romance stories.

Kicking it off with January. New Beginnings.
Genny & Thomas.
Lawyer x firefighter.
Old friends x high school love.
Second chance romance.
These two were adorable. Their rekindling of what once was After 15 years. Their second chance at making things work after Genny went through an ordeal with her husband. The way her parents were there for her when she needed them the most. The love they carried for Thomas yet warned him if he ever broke her heart again. It all blended beautifully. It was the perfect second chance romance story.

February. Heartfelt Beginnings.
Violet & Lincoln.
PT x Football player
Brothers best friend romance
Lincoln was the typical sports guy when he injures himself. Stubborn, rude and wants to rush his rehab despite being told to take it easy. So enter the big guns Violet. She stood her ground, took no shiz and put him in his place. Their relationship was cute. I loved that she was ‘the boss’ and got him to listen to her where no other PT’s could.

March. Lucky beginnings.
Bella & Jameson
DV survivor x Bar owner (ex military)
Age gap romance
Running from her boyfriend after a nasty fight, she runs to her sister who helps her to escape to someone she knows who can help keep her safe. Jameson. Ex military now bar owner takes in Bella and gives her a safe space to stay and a job. The protection he felt over Bella was cute, so much he gave her nickname for her sassy attitude. Which fitted very nicely 😆.

April. Stormy Beginning’s.
Abigail x Weston
Architect x Vet.
Enemies to lovers romance.
This one was my favourite! Abigail’s attitude and sass was everything. She had the whole town hooked. Except Weston. Ever since crashing into his car and then bumping her cart into him at the grocery store, they seem to dislike one another from the get go. But as time went on and things ‘happened’ they grew closer. The heat, the challenges and the banter between these two was brilliant!

I cannot wait to see what the rest of year has in store!
These are each short stories so everything moves fast pace. But smoothly blended. Skips all the world building etc and dives straight into it. I loved it. It kept my attention so much, I finished it within 1 day. ♥️

With 4 stories in 1 book, Country Roads Vol 1 provided sweet romance and great couples. TC Lynndale and Erika Chestnut have developed wonderful characters that made me laugh, smile, and swoon. Each book focuses on a different couple and their journey of finding love.

New Beginnings is Genny and Thomas’ story and they are so sweet and adorable together. These two are being given a second chance for romance. With wonderful communication throughout their story, these two steadily build a relationship they can both stand on and want to fight for.

Heartfelt Beginnings is about forbidden love between Violet and Lincoln. Just wanting to get through rehab for his injury, Lincoln learns the importance of slowing down. Violet challenges him in his recovery, while opening his heart to her. He may be her patient, but the heart wants what the heart wants.

Lucky Beginnings is giving Bella the chance to find love with Jay, after she has escaped an abusive relationship. Jay is protective throughout the whole story, while also giving Bella the space to learn how to be her again. The abuse Bella has gone through causes her guard to be up, understandably.
Jay never pushes her, but consistently shows up for her and shows her what real love looks like.

Stormy Beginnings brings together Abigail and Weston after they have started on rocky ground. Living in a small town can make avoiding people you don’t like hard. Case in point, Abigail and Weston. But is what they feel truly dislike or is something deeper brewing beneath the surface that neither one wants to admit? Another great thing about small towns, meddling townspeople who sometimes see things clearer than you do.

Each story is full of heartfelt relationships and romance that truly makes you smile. TC and Erika over and over again show their ability to write wonderful, small town settings, filled with delightful characters that you truly want to see happy. I hope there is a Vol 2 from them and if so, cannot wait to see what new characters they will bring to life for us.

As always, review any author notes before reading.

Thank you to T.C. Lynndale, Erika Chestnutt, and Happily Booked PR for my copy of Country Roads Volume 1 to read and review.

If you’re looking for a collection of short and sweet southern novellas to get you through your day, look no further than the first Volume of Country Roads. What’s unique about this series is that each novella is representative of a month of the year, which makes it a perfect read for any day or time.

Because this volume contains 4 novellas, I’m going to break the rest of the review down into each story, including tropes and my thoughts.

The first novella, New Beginnings, is a second-chance romance between two high school sweethearts. Overall, I really enjoyed the story, but like most novellas, I wish it was longer so I could explore things more. I really wish I could’ve experienced more of Genny’s character development and how that contributed to her romance with Thomas. I think the spice was handled well, as in it didn’t feel included for the sake of having spice. I’d rate this one 4/5 stars.

The second novella, Heartfelt Beginnings, is a brother’s best friend romance between two people who have loved each other from the start. I liked the concept of this one, the FMC becomes the MMC’s physical therapist after an injury. I think it was a cute story, but I didn’t love it as much as the first one. I’d rate this one 3.5/5 stars.

The third novella, Lucky Beginnings, is an age-gap romance between a woman running away from her past and a former military man. I really liked the story on this one, but I wish it was a bit more spicy. This is one that I would like to extend into a full book because the little bits of spice we got was so good. With more spice, this could’ve easily been a 5 star read, but I’ll go with 4/5 for now.

The fourth novella, Stormy Beginnings, is a somewhat enemies to lovers romance between an interior designer and a veterinarian. I think this story was cute, but definitely needed to be fleshed out more for the romance to make sense. Shout out to Daisy the dog. 4/5 stars.

This book was something different instead of getting one book we get 4 different books! The only thing I didn’t like was they weren’t longer. Each book here was a different trope, and they gave a little bit of everything!!!
I loved every bit of reading this book definitely recommend this book!!!!
If I had to pick my favorite book out of the 4 I would pick:

Heartfelt Beginnings

Lincoln-football player
Violet-physical therapist

During a game long get hurt and is hospitalized went thru surgery on his knee. He asked to be sent home to Tennessee and he was set up in a house by his best friend. He has went thru 2 therapist and he has been a jerk to both of them where they dropped working for him. Now it’s up to Violet to take his case or the company will drop him.

*when she was 14 he stopped bullies from bulling her*

The next day the big wig comes over Dr Johansson yikes
Violet comes in after with a plan and help Linc so Dr Johansson doesn’t drop him. They make a plan over pizza and set everything in motion. Linc promised to do everything she says. Time goes on and he is healing well but also falling for vi so he talks to Dr Johansson about taking her off the case so that he can try and date her. She comes in and she is pissed yells and leaves.
She heads to her brother Ben’s house and he sees right through her and knows she is upset. She finally tells him and he’s starts cracking up laughing. He tells her to stop being stubborn because she’s liked him for forever. She goes back to the house to talk to him and they have a date later that night.
Aww this had a great happy ever after!!! Linc got let go but was able to pick from sports reporter on tv or hs coach. He picked coach and changed the schools history with the wins and great grades for the team.

A definite must read!!!

What a wonderfully delightful collection of novellas, all set in charming small Southern towns. I devoured this series in just a couple of hours. It has everything you could want — sexy banter, lovable small-town characters, heartfelt emotion, and an addictive mix of romance tropes.
In New Beginnings, Genny and Thomas deliver a beautiful second-chance romance that completely soothes the heart. There’s something so special about second-chance love stories, watching two people finally get the opportunity to make things right.
Then in Heartfelt Beginnings, stubborn Lincoln injures his knee during a football game and ends up working with his feisty physical therapist, Violet — who also happens to be his best friend’s sister. These two were an absolute riot together. The chemistry, the banter, and the constant “will they or won’t they” tension made this story laugh-out-loud fun and impossible to put down.
Lucky Beginnings brings the emotional punch with an age-gap, protective alpha romance between Jamerson and Bella. After rescuing Bella from an abusive ex, Jamerson becomes the safe place she desperately needs. Add in the close proximity and simmering attraction, and things quickly heat up between these two. Emotional, tender, and protective in all the best ways.
And finally, Stormy Beginnings gave me my favourite trope — enemies to lovers. Weston and Abigael had explosive tension from the very beginning. The flirting, the sparring, the undeniable attraction… these two couldn’t resist pushing each other’s buttons, and I loved every second of it.
Overall, this collection was absolutely fantabulous — heartwarming, sweet, emotional, engaging, and incredibly comforting. The perfect easy read when you want romance, laughs, chemistry, and all the feels wrapped up in one delightful small-town series.

OVERALL 4/5 This collection is broken down into short stories about people in small towns. It’s a pretty fast read. I wished for more details in the stories and more info to connect with the characters. There was definitely enough info to “know” the characters but I’m a detail girl and these were short and fast paced leaving out those character building elements that I typically enjoy. Having said that this is perfect for 4 quick reads and people who don’t like being bogged down with lots of details! Well written and engaging short stories for sure.

Story 1 (New Beginnings): Genny & Thomas 4.5/5 A sweet second chance romance when Genny and Tom both find themselves back in town. This was my favorite of the stories but I did find myself wanting more details. I connected with their story the most.

Story 2 (Heartfelt Beginnings): Lincoln & Vi 3.5/5 it’s a sweet childhood friends to lovers story and it’s good. I didn’t have a strong connection to these two so I was less invested as their story moved forward. It was cute to see them come full circle back to eachother.

Story 3 (Lucky Beginnings): 3/5 Bella & Jameson A few words are in Spanish. It’s fairly easy to understand cuz I do know a little bit and context clues can help with the basic jest of the meaning. But I do wish it was in English or that the meaning was available. For me I like all the details so not being sure was kinda annoying. However still a sweet, super spicy story.

Story 4 (Stormy Beginnings): Abigail & Weston 3.5/5 Lots of sassy banter with these two. Pretty predictable but a sweet story with a steamy connection.

Spice level: 5/5 Story 3 was pretty spicy the others were more mild to average spice.

I received an advance copy of this from the author via BookFunnel however this review is something I enjoy doing and it is 100% my opinions.

4 books in 1, what more could you want! It’s a year of stories!

January: Genny and Thomas
- lawyer and firefighter
- second chance romance
This was probably by favorite story, but only barely as all of them were amazing!. After 15 years apart, Genny moved home and the reconnected with Thomas. After years apart, they rekindled their romance after life knocked them around a little bit. I just love high school romances turned forever after time apart!

February: Violet and Lincoln
- brothers best friend
- small town romance
Lincoln is a former athlete and when he gets injured he returns home to his only hope at not having permanent damage, Violet. He’s scared off other PT’s so will she stick around? I loved how she didn’t take anything from him and stood her ground. I loved the tension and “forbidden” vibe of their romance!

March: Isabella (Bella) and Jameson
- age gap
-protective of her
Jameson, former military man now owns a bar and takes in Bella who is running from a horrible relationship. He is protective without hovering. Their relationship builds slowly and is built on emotional connections. I loved how protective Jameson was before he even really knew who she was

April: Abigail and Weston
-enemies to lovers
Abigail and Weston didn’t get off to a great start, she ran into his car and then ran into him with a cart. It seemed nothing would ever make them get along. Abigail was sassy and had an attitude (which I loved). Slowly the hatred turns to passion and one thing led to another.

I loved how short these stories were so it was easy to read. Some of them did feel rushed but that may be due to the length and how much happened, however it wasn’t so bad once you got a feel for the stories and how they flowed. I cannot wait for the rest of these stories!

Thank you to Happily Booked PR and the author for this ARC. This is my honest and voluntary review

COUNTRY ROADS VOLUME 1
T.C. LYNNDALE ERICKA CHESTNUTT

New Beginnings:
A quick story about new beginnings and reconnecting and rekindling a previous love. While the story has a lot of special moments, because of its brevity, it only just skims the emotional depth of the main characters and it feels like we get just a peek of the characters’ personalities and thoughts. I would have loved more from this story, but for a short book, it gave enough to be satisfied.

Heartfelt Beginnings:
Lincoln and Violet are end game. This brothers best friend trope started off with a bang and the connection that Vi and Linc have shined throughout the story. I love how the brother‘s best friend trope didn’t result in a fight or argument or issues between the MMC and brother, and the true struggle was trusting feelings and level of connection they other have for one another.

Lucky Beginnings:
Unfortunately, this story felt a bit flat for me. It started off strong with a lot of promise with the storyline, but I struggled to connect to the MC‘s. This also had a Dom/sub trope and I felt like it missed the mark. The spicy scenes also left me frustrated as I feel they were always left incomplete or faded off. All in all, it’s a decent story and plot line, but I would not choose to reread this.

Stormy Beginnings:
The story was my favorite in the book! I loved the banter between the two main characters and Daisy was the shining star! The enemy to lovers trope hit the spot, and I liked seeing how their dislike morphed into deeper feelings through their little interactions over several weeks. It’s always fun to see how the side characters interact with the main characters and help to push them together.

I received this as an Advanced Readers Copy from Happily Booked.

Volume 1 contains a series of 4 short novellas and each contains a separate romance “trope”. Overall, I enjoyed reading these novellas. I read these so quickly and honestly couldn’t put them down. They drew me in and I wished they were longer forms of each story.

Novella 1 is called New Beginnings and the main characters are Genny and Thomas. This is a second chance romance, which personally, is not my favorite. I thought bits of the conversation were cheesy but I loved how Genny took control of her life and future. I loved the ending too. I would rate this novella 3 out of 5 stars.

Novella 2 is called Heartfelt Beginnings. This follows Violet and Lincoln which is a “brother’s best friend” trope. At first, I wasn’t as drawn into this story as I was with the third and fourth novella. However, I adore Violet. She is such a sweet character and I do love how Lincoln softens as a character. I would rate this novella 3.5 stars out of 5 stars.

Novella 3 is Lucky Beginnings and this is the start of where I couldn’t put the book down. It follows Jamerson and Bella and I just adores this story. Bella runs from an abusive relationship and finds safety and comfort in Jamerson. He is so soft yet strong with her. And she is a little fiery woman who finds her own strength. I love the little nicknames too - he calls her “Tink” after Tinkerbell and she calls him “Viego”. I would rate this novella 4.5 stars out of 4.

Novella 4 is Stormy Beginnings and Lord have mercy but there was soooooo much tension between Abigail and Weston. The heat and chemistry between the two?! Wooo child I am fanning myself and clutching my pearls all at the same time. I loved loved loved this novella. 5 out of 5 stars.

This was an ARC I received from Happily Booked PR of previously written stories that are now combined into a single volume. Each of the 4 novellas is a “story of the month” covering January-April, and pieces of the storylines revolve around any holidays or special events that may happen within that month. All stories are standalone with HEAs and open door spice!

I absolutely loved these stories! You get a little bit of everything from them to feed all your trope needs in the setting of small-town romances. Plus, all the characters have great chemistry and you can feel the sizzle and tension coming right off the page!

January: Genny & Thomas - second chance, former first love, firefighter

February: Vi & Linc - brother’s best friend, sports romance, forbidden romance (she’s his PT), Valentine’s Day

March: Bella & Jameson - BIL’s military buddy, escape from DV (she runs to him for protection), sassy Latina FMC, forbidden romance (boss/employee), age gap, St. Patrick’s Day and green lingerie

April: Abby & Weston - enemies to lovers, she’s the newbie in town, he’s the town vet, he looks good in wranglers and a flannel, oh the tension!

These were all super fast reads that gave me all the things I crave in my romance books. Highly recommend taking the time to check these out individually or as part of the collection. I can’t wait to check out volume 2!

All opinions are my own, and I have not received anything in return for my honest review. Thank you to TC Lynndale, Ericka Chestnutt, and Happily Booked PR for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This book consists of 4 novellas and each of them felt complete even with them being short. None of them felt rushed or incomplete.

Genny and Thomas in New Beginnings were so sweet. The only thing I didn’t like was she bitterly gets divorced from her cheating husband and immediately gets with Thomas. I get they were together 15 years ago and she didn’t love her husband but it just felt wrong to me. Otherwise I absolutely loved the story.

Violet and Lincoln in Heartfelt Beginnings were a fun pair. She’s his PT after he screws up his knee in a game and sparks fly. He’s her brother’s best friend and her patient so he’s off limits but for how long. My favorite line was “stop your brooding and act your age instead of your shoe size.” That had me giggling for a good minute.

Bella and Jameson in Lucky Beginnings were a hoot. I do wish we got translations for what she was saying because while I took Spanish is high school and cool understand a little I was as lost as Jay. The banter was funny even if I didn’t understand some of it.

Abigail and Weston in Stormy Beginnings had a stormy start with her hitting his truck with her car. I loved Daisy and their banter.

Overall each story was so good. The chemistry, the tension, the banter, etc. I loved it all. These stories might be short but they feel complete. I read this book as an arc.

This collection of books was very well written and thoroughly entertaining to read. Each book was an intriguing story when characters I was invested in from the start.

Genny and Thomas had an absolutely adorable story about second chances. Their connection and chemistry were undeniable. I found it really refreshing how they actually communicated and worked through things together. And the ending they got was so sweet.

Vi and Linc had me head over heels for them from the very start. I’m a sucker for a brother’s best friend trope and this book did not disappoint. I loved watching them interact and seeing how far gone Linc was for her.

Bella and Jameson were two characters that truly felt more fore than others. They complemented each other perfectly and seeing the connection they had was endearing. This story definitely had me kicking my feet in the air like a middle schooler.

Weston and Abigail’s story was one of the more entertaining of the collection to me. The banter between them was on point and had me laughing so hard. And the tension could be felt coming off the page. It was *chef’s kiss* and I just couldn’t get enough of it.

All in all this collection was full of characters I could relate to and connect with, as well as stories that got my attention and held it until the very end. And each end was perfect for our couples. I was left smiling and happy.

Just finished Country Roads Volume 1 and it honestly felt like wrapping up in a warm blanket with a cup of coffee ☕✨

This anthology delivers emotional small-town romances with lovable characters, second chances, healing journeys, and just the right amount of tension and heart. Each story has its own personality, but they all connect beautifully through the cozy hometown atmosphere and strong emotional themes.

Each novella brings a different emotional dynamic to the table, which kept the anthology from feeling repetitive. The characters are easy to connect with, especially because they all carry realistic emotional baggage and personal struggles. The small-town setting ties everything together nicely and gives the book a cozy, familiar atmosphere throughout.

What I loved most was how human the characters felt — messy, vulnerable, hopeful, and easy to root for. The writing keeps things comforting without losing emotional depth, and every story leaves you with that soft “everything will be okay” feeling.

Perfect for readers who love:
🌾 small-town romance
💛 emotional healing arcs
🏈 brother’s best friend vibes
✨ second chances
🏡 found family energy

A genuinely comforting romance read.

I received this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

New Beginnings | Genny and Thomas

I really enjoyed this short story about this couple having a second chance at love. Genny and Thomas' story is adorable how quickly they fall back into step even after all this time. I do appreciate how they communicate and work through what happened in the past. It's water under the bridge and seeing them in the future was an added bonus.

Heartfelt Beginnings | Violet and Lincoln

This was such a cute story! Linc was down bad for Violet. For the amount of pages the character depth, arc and supporting characters were fully developed. I loved how the ending showed them in the future.

Lucky Beginnings | Bella and Jameson

YES!! I loved the depth in Bella and Jameson's story and yes, it was short BUT I loved it! The supporting characters were so good as well! Bella having a place to go and then Jameson giving her a job.. hello, forced proximity and hello, one bed. It had me kicking my feet as to what these two would get up to as I turned the page.

Stormy Beginnings | Abigail and Weston

MMMM this enemies to lovers small town romance is just chefs kiss. The two keep running into each other literally and figuratively. & this small town may not be big enough for both of them.. or maybe it is? I really loved these two characters and the meddling folks in the town.

This collection delivers exactly what you want from a small-town romance series: heartfelt emotion, strong chemistry, familiar community connections, and satisfying happy endings. Each story has its own distinct trope and couple dynamic, which keeps the collection from feeling repetitive, and the bonus epilogues were a nice touch that added extra closure.New Beginnings had an emotional second-chance romance arc with believable history between the characters. Heartfelt Beginnings brought a sweet brother’s best friend storyline with plenty of tension and heart. Lucky Beginnings balanced the age-gap romance well, and Isabella and Jameson’s relationship felt genuine and supportive. Stormy Beginnings was probably the strongest emotionally, with the enemies-to-lovers dynamic creating some great banter and chemistry. My main criticism is that, even for short stories, there were noticeable gaps where character development, emotional transitions, or certain plot points could have been expanded more. At times relationships seemed to progress a little too quickly, and a few scenes felt skipped over when more depth would have strengthened the emotional payoff. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

If you are looking for some easy-to-read small town romances that are short and satisfying, this Country Roads set is great. Planned as a year's worth of stories, this has January to April so I'm already looking forward to the next two volumes. Each novella feels a bit like a category romance with fleshed-out characters, problems to solve and nothing to distract me away from the romance. There’s a balance between wholesome and steamy that worked really well for me too.

The first one is New Beginnings, Thomas and Jenny who have a second chance after Jenny’s marriage fails and she moves back home. Thomas never really left. He is all in as soon as he finds out that Jenny is back home. She has work to do but in between there is plenty of wish fulfilment in a very satisfying way.

March is also a cracker with Lucky Beginnings and I love the Spanish representation with Bella and Jameson. Bella has left an abusive relationship and is working in Jamison’s bar and staying with him in his apartment. Bella speaks a lot of Spanish and I love that it's not literally translated - I totally got her thoughts 😉 There's a suspense element and some rope play that was steamy and fun.

A great collection of propulsive and easy romances. Recommended!

New beginnings- 5⭐️read. Absolutely loved it. Great second chance romance where high school sweethearts reconnect and realize their love for each other never went away. It was sweet, swoony, spicy and had me giddy with a big goofy grin while reading. I enjoyed Thomas and Genny’s story so much!

Heartfelt Beginnings- 5⭐️ read. Brother’s best friend, forbidden romance with forced proximity that has a broody football player mmc. There is banter, spice, mutual pining, romantic gestures…all the things that go great with brother’s best friend trope, which is my all time favorite!
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Lucky Beginnings- 4⭐️ read. an age gap romance with a protective former military mmc and spitfire fmc who needs his protection. He becomes her safe haven leading to a love that came along when they both least expected it. *Please check trigger warnings as the story mentions domestic violence*

Stormy Beginnings-5⭐️ read. enemies to lovers, neighbors, banter, all the random running into each other in the small town, meddling townspeople, vet MMC, interior designer FMC. This was a great read that was sweet, spicy, funny and one I couldn’t put down. FYI, Chapter 14 is🔥🥵👏🏼.
Also, Ernest and the end of that book 🥹 I knew I loved his character from beginning for a reason!

Thank you to T.C. Lynndale, Ericka Chestnutt, and Happily Booked PR for the ARC of this book 💌

3.5 ⭐️

This was such a fun read! I loved having four individual stories in one book. It was nice being able to read one story, take a break, and then come back to a completely new romance. I looooved Heartfelt Beginnings and Stormy Beginnings especially.

🪻 Heartfelt Beginnings — 4 ⭐️
I loved Violet and Linc so much. I’m such a sucker for a sports romance + brother’s best friend trope. Their chemistry was everything and they were so cute together.

🌼 Lucky Beginnings — 3 ⭐️
Jameson and Bella were really fun to read about. I loved the banter, the age gap dynamic, and the overall vibe of their story.

☁️ Stormy Beginnings — 4 ⭐️
Abby and Weston (and Daisy) might’ve been my favourites. Enemies to lovers is one of my favourite tropes, and even though they aren’t the “I’m going to kill you” type of enemies to lovers, there’s tension from the very beginning that’s definitely hiding something else (iykyk).

🌸 New Beginnings — 3.5 ⭐️
Thomas and Genny were a sweet second-chance romance novella. And childhood friends too?? It was so cute watching them fall back in love.

This is a four novella anthology all about country small town romance.

Book One: New Beginnings
🧡🧡🧡
Cute story! It felt rushed in some parts but the transitions got better further in the story. Had an average amount of spice for a romance story.

This story kept my interest because the FMC and MMC were obviously a match made in heaven that just lost their way.

The ending was a chef's kiss.

Book Two: Heartfelt Beginnings
🧡
I didn't connect with this one. The characters energy and attraction wasn't believable.

Book Three: Lucky Beginnings
🧡🧡🧡🧡
Give me more of Isabella and Jameson!
🔥🌶

This story starts off slow but progresses perfectly. I like that we get to know Jameson first, like we get to experience his building attraction between him and Isabella.

This one definitely hooked me and kept a smile on my face. 🌶🤭

Book Four: Stormy Beginnings
🧡🧡🧡
This was so funny and quick.
I liked the instant connection between Abby and Weston and loved the "hallmark movie" vibes i got from this one.

I definitely wanted more of their story and I want to see if sparks will fly with Scott and Hadley.

- Cozy small-town atmosphere
- Plenty of Southern Charm
- Second Chances
- Country Loving Romance

Country Roads Volume 1 by TC Lynndale and Ericka Chestnutt contained four heartfelt and emotionally grounded stories that blended mall-town charm with deeply personal storytelling. In this collection we followed the first four months of the year, each with their own unique trope attached. In January there was Small Town Second Chance Romance, February contained a Small Town Brother's Best Friend Romance, March was about Small Town Age Gap Romance, and last April had Small Town Enemies to Lovers Romance. I really enjoyed each of the stories written by Lynndale and Chestnutt, because each one perfectly balanced tender moments with the dramatic events that kept me hooked. If you are a fan of small-town, insta-love romance with an HEA, this collection of stories if perfect for you!

I received an ARC copy from Happily Booked PR. Thank you so much for giving me a chance to read and voluntarily review this novel!

I had the honor of ARC reading each of these novellas individually and to read them again as part of the Volume 1 collection was EVERYTHING!
The extra bits with the epilogues, chef kiss spectacular 🫶

Thomas and Genny epilogue had me tearing up with joy and all the sweetness!

Lincoln and Violet epilogue, was so sweet to see where these two were in 5 years and everything they accomplished together and their growing family along with Lincoln and his new dream career!

Jameson and Bella!! She became his everything the moment he stepped up to protect her! Their epilogue was their perfectly blissful wrap up to their story of luck and love.

Weston and Abby were truly enemies to lovers but their love and their epilogue were what dreams are made of!

Overall review:
4 stars
2 Spice

Little bit of explicit spice but nothing major so perfect if your after some light, sweet reads and want to dip your toe into the spice world.
4x Cute, small town, second chance romances following a different, unrelated couple.

New Beginnings:
3 stars
2 spice

Genny and Thomas are adorable. Sweet, small town second chance romance between a country girl and the towns sexy fireman. The one who got away. Cheesy in a good way. Exactly what it says, new beginnings. Short and sweet. Love the moms obsession with her goats!

Heartfelt Beginnings:
2.5 stars
2 spice

Violet and Lincoln very cute. Lincoln is the epitome of a man, stubborn wanting to rush his rehab rather than do it slowly but correctly. Cute second chance romance between an injured footballer player and his PT.

Lucky Beginnings:
3 stars
2 spice

Bella and Jameson are so cute! Bella's fiestyness makes me laugh the way she sasses Jay. Cute second chance romance for a DV survivor and the man who protects her & makes her feel safe.

Stormy Beginnings:
3 stars
2 spice

Abigail and Weston are adorable. Love that they started off on the wrong foot and then realised that they slowly started having feelings of a different kind! Ernest as a side character was delightful and the house design sounds amazing, would love to see the inspiration behind that! I love the silly names for the shops - the small town sounds like a wonderful place to live! A real small town romance where an architect meets the local vet and everything changes when her dog has an accident.

I received this book as an advanced readers copy. This review doesn't contain any spoilers.
I absolutely loved each part of this book. Each story was so unique to the characters it followed. I couldn't put it down!
I absolutely loved that the chapters were short, but the stories weren't disappointing. They each had their own unique characters and those characters faced different challenges. I know this is a collection of books but I genuinely wanted more from each book. The stories themselves had plot twists and kept me wanting more. I took days to compel my thoughts but it was by far one of my favorite books I have read. I can't wait until this book is released and I can't wait to to buy each of the books so I can get more from these books!

ARC Review
🌾 Country Roads Volume 1💗
By TC Lynndale and Ericka Chestnutt

Overall: 3/5
Overall plot: 3/5
Character development: 3/5
Pace: 3/5
World building: 4/5
Spice 🌶️: 1.5/5

First—thank you @happilybookedpr for the ARCs ahead of the re-release 🌾

This collection includes four separate novellas, each following a different couple in small Southern towns with no direct connection between stories.

Each “Beginnings” explores a different romance trope and relationship dynamic, from second chance love to enemies-to-lovers, and the setups are all very different in tone and circumstance.
These were quick, easy reads with sweet moments across all four stories. While I enjoyed the variety of tropes and how each couple’s journey unfolded differently, most of the stories didn’t fully stick with me long-term.

The final story was the most memorable for me, both in pacing and emotional engagement, and stood out compared to the others.

Tropes:
♥️ Friends to Lovers
💜 Brother’s Best Friend
💚 Age Gap
🩷 Enemies to Lovers
🌾 All Set in Small Southern Towns

Overall, this is a cozy collection of short, trope-driven romances perfect for a light reading mood, especially if you enjoy small-town interconnected vibes without needing a continuous storyline.

This was the first book I’ve read by either author! Let me just say these two killed these novella’s! I couldn’t stop once I started! If you have not read these novellas then you definitely should!!

Genny & Thomas is definitely a tear jerker as you will cry while reading. Just knowing that two people get a second chance at love will definitely make my heart melt.

Violet & Lincoln Brothers best friend trope is one of my favorites. The chemistry and the tension was off the charts.

Jameson & Bella Their relationship felt patient and so emotional. I loved the way the trust was built between them.

Abigail & Weston These two were something else. The banter was so good, but underneath the fighting was this deep connection was everything.

This collection contains the first four novellas of the series.
January New Beginnings, is the first book of the series and it’s a second chance romance.
February Heartfelt Beginnings, the second book in the series is a best friends to lovers romance.
March Lucky Beginnings, the third book in the series is an age gap romance.
April Steamy Beginnings, the fourth book in the series is an enemies to lovers romance.
Each of the four books in this collection revolves around a new couple and a new troupe. The novellas have well written characters that are easy to relate to. Small town charm and all the things that come with living in a small town dynamic. This was a great read and I hope they will have a second volume.

New Beginnings: Thomas and Genny
Heartfelt Beginnings: Lincoln and Violet
Lucky Beginnings: Jameson and Bella
Stormy Beginnings: Weston and Abigail

Second chances, age gap, found/formed families, small-town romance, brother’s best friend, off-limits, grumpy, enemies-to-more, first love, ‘it’s always been you’ vibes, ex-military protector vibes… It’s a blend of sweet and spicy, small-town charm and city living. Each story is pretty fast-paced, and a heck of a ride.

It’s up to April now, can’t wait to see what May and beyond brings next!

Thanks T. C. Lynndale & Erika Chestnutt, for the advance copy.
