Sadia Richardson is a well-loved barista currently in her last semester of college. As she earns her degree in business management, she hits a roadblock she never saw coming. Low on time, Sadia’s options are slim, but before she can give up, a blessing walks into the coffee shop.
Chance Mitchell is a hardworking parole officer who’s looking forward to his upcoming vacation. There’s only one He needs to bring his girlfriend. Chance doesn’t have a girlfriend, but there is one beauty he has in mind, and he hopes she’ll be down to pretend, just for a weekend.
Chance and Sadia are in a bind, but without hesitation, they’re willing to help one another. A weekend of pretending turns into something neither of them expects. When Monday morning comes, will Chance and Sadia be able to walk away, or has this turned into something real?
3.5 ⭐️. Cute and short fake dating romance. Chance and Sadia have been eyeing eachother every morning when he comes to get his coffee. An issue with her college payments and his need for a girlfriend sets them up to express those feelings. There’s a lil drama and a point it got really comfortable but I enjoyed reading. I will say I’m someone who likes the cover to match the characters description, so when I reads he’s as bald as a bowling ball I was a lil annoyed. I would still recommend.
The cover attracted me! A very cute read. As a coffee connoisseur lol, coffee store romances. Love it. Chase & Sadia (whose name I love) breezed around each other until fate, or desperation brought them together. I didnt want it to end! The store was really good it packed a lot, I was very shocked at the revelation of what the four friends would do on vacations. A little taken aback tbh! The 💩 scenes were hilarious!
I loved everything about this book. Dia and Chance were both like breaths of fresh air. Their chemistry had already been developed before their situations pulled them together. They bonded and enjoyed each others company and time. They didn’t allow their previous notions and thoughts of love and marriage keep them from experiencing it or the thought of it. Once they decided to cross over into uncharted territories of love it was evident that who and whatever came up would not get in their way. The ice cream social had me in tears laughing like nonstop and I loved their comfortability, jokes, and conversation throughout it. This was a good feel good book about letting go and going for it. Loved it 10/10
This was a short and spicy story with low angst but no real character development either. It didn't feel rushed and the characters spent quite a bit of time together but they never seemed to really get to know each other beyond the bedroom and surface-level stuff. Overall though, the main characters were likeable, there were several laugh out loud moments, and a glimpse from the lie becoming something true, but there were so many missed opportunities for them to really bond and get to know each other. Like that weak rendition of Never Have I Ever could have really given them the chance to come clean and open up about somethings. What do I know though, I'm just the reader.
Chance and Sadia decided to fake date when he needed a date for his friends' trip and she needed funds to pay her college tuition. Both of them had been crushing on each other, but they never declared their feelings until they were put in this fake dating situation. They were cute together, and I really enjoyed their banter. There were several moments that had me laughing out loud especially Sadia and her conscience and the ice cream incident. 😂😂 I couldn't stand his so-called friend, Jamie, and his wife, Peaches. I can't believe they caught an attitude with Chance because he didn't want to continue to engage in past behavior. I enjoyed this book from the very first page and can't wait for the next book from this author.
I loved this story from beginning to end. Chance and Sadia were cute together. What started out as a fake dating situation for his friend group’s couples trip quickly turned real and it made it all the better because they both were crushing on each other. This was such a cute and quick read and it had some laugh out moments, namely the scene following the ice cream date.
If you’re a fan of the fake dating trope and love a palette cleansing story with minimal drama, this one is a great read to dive into.
Chance was perfectly. Him and Sadia finally becoming one was fueled by an opportunity she could not pass up. I enjoyed their adventure on the couple trip, it was both sexy and romantic.
Jamie and Peaches got on my nerve. It was giving thirsty and I was waiting on someone to get smacked. I may have did a dance when he checked both and ended the friendship.
Now the funniest part was on the way home.. True love right there.
This was a fun read and shows how grown people can mature as well for the right person.
Ommmggggg! They were so cute!!!! I loved them as a couple. The only thing was it needed a little more editing. Some parts were kind of stilted and needed another pass through, but the story itself was so stinking cute!!!! That trip ending had me cracking up!!!! I do wish they spent more time with his friends though. All that build of for a trip and they really didn’t do much it socialize at all. I wish they got to spend time with his people more, regardless of the bad seeds.
I love when a book flows easy, and the funny moments damn near take you out. Chance and Sadia were crushing on each other without knowing. So to help each other out, Sadia agrees to play Chance's fake girlfriend on a trip with his friends. She agrees and somewhere along the way, the relationship becomes real.
The two end of spending most of the getaway together, falling deeper, and trying new things. The ice cream incident, oh my gosh, a shitty mess!!!!
All in all, Riley makes it easy to love her books and characters.
OMG! this was a cute, cozy, feel-good, hilarious read. Taking a chance on each other, Chance and Sadia. They just got each other, PERIODT! When you know you know.
I was on the floor laughing, during the pooping and bathroom moments because of that dairy thing called ice-cream. I've been there and done that!
This author always comes through with a read to take the edge off the seriousness of the world around us. Great read!
This was a super fast-paced love story that I flew through. I really enjoyed their internal dialogue and the moments of humor spread through. There’s not a ton of depth or development here, BUT it was still an easy, enjoyable read when you’re just in the mood for something quick and low-stress.
This is a book I won’t forget. The scenes after trying the ice cream had me laughing so hard I was crying! I feel for my girl Sadia because after going thru what they did I would’ve hid too lol but Chance said enough and came and got his girl. Im side eyeing Jamie and Peaches cuz why they so pressed? This was a good read and even tho it was short it didn’t feel rushed.
A fake relationship where both characters are mature and actually communicate their feelings? Yes, I was here for it! While Chance wasn’t looking for love, something real was already brewing beneath the surface. Between Sadia’s sweet energy and Chance’s goofy self, I had a really good time. I enjoyed their banter and the way their personalities matched so well.
I adored Chance & Sadia! Their banter & chemistry was perfect. I could almost feel the attraction between them. I live for a good fake dating situation & this was too cute. Chance just wanted to take care of Dia, & she let him! The spice was great.
Short sweet funny lovable story. The main characters were good together and I loved their chemistry. Happy it didn’t take long for them to realize that they both liked each other. That darn Peaches and Jamie ….. smh
Chance and Sadia didn't have a clue how they felt about one another. Who knew a favor could lead to the beautiful love!! They both didn't know love but sure knew what it felt like. Loved this book!!
It was a good book. I need something to read that was light after reading heavy books. It didn't disappoint me. Sometimes, everyone is not meant to go on your journey with you. I am glad he found that out. I would recommend the book
Sometimes love and attraction is there from the first meet. Chance and Dia had this but neither knew the other felt the same. A great light read with a great flow. Never expected the bathroom would give them pause 🤪
This book started out so romantic. I loved how Chance and Sadia’s relationship progressed so well. Then I get to a part of the book where I couldn’t stop laughing 😂 😂 This author had me in stitches! 🤣🤣And after the laughter, it ended too quickly. Good book!
Sadia and Chance found love. This couple needed love so bad. They thought that love had escaped them, but guess what, it wasn’t the right time. Love can not be rushed, but’s when you really needed its at your door. Thanks Riley another great story.
When I started this book I was loving it. As I kept going I didn’t really like the “insta-love” of it all because we didn’t get to know Chance & Sadia like I wanted to. I know it’s a novella, but I wanted just a little more. 3/5 ⭐️
This book was great to read. I have never laughed so hard from the ice debacles for both. It was written to keep a smile on your faces. Friends can come and go, and should be handled with a long handle spoon.
Quick and easy read. I enjoyed both characters. Chance and Sadie are too cute together. I’m looking forward to reading more of this author’s catalog.🙌🏽👏🏽💯
