Sent into a strange pocket world, the crew is on the hunt for safety- and perhaps something more. With enemies beyond their understanding hot on their trail, the only place that might offer safe haven also brings with it danger of a new kind. Leon's understanding of Runecrafting is great, but will it be enough to traverse the puzzles and traps laid out before them? When a mysterious entity of great power takes the reins, will he be able to overcome the trials that he is put through? Continue the grand adventure as our favorite group of misfits searches for meaning and purpose in a world that has turned on them.
At this point literally the only thing that can save this series is the death of all the supporting cast.
Since nearly all of the dialogue consists of an exclamation and a single sentence it wouldn’t suffer a bit and what was once a very promising g character can progress without the repeated third-grade shenanigans and tongues being stuck out.
Love a snarky sidekick as much as anyone but this group seems Stu k between saccharine sweet unjustifiably juvenile, and totally unnecessary.
Dissapointing book in a good series, a bunch of fights with very little substance, minimal story or character progression and a plot twist to finish.
The scope of the story is massive, and I really hope the Author speeds up his writing to match the pace of the Grand Arcs he has planned.
I want to see Leon and his clan, the pacing of fluff and fights, his quest for "swords" could of been much better summarised, the fights felt lifeless and far less important than other books. This felt to be dragged out to make the word count rather than really focusing on Leon as a Rune Crafter or Soul smith, while honing in on the plot points. I hope to see this series get back on track, im only leaving feedback because I want to see these books shine not to put it down overall.
Why you authors ruin books with these trash endings is so vexing. You have an incredible story all the way through the entire book and just toss it off a cliff at the end. Congrats on your 3 star review.
Yet another great book in this series I really enjoyed reading this one! I hope other people will too. I recommend starting with book one and reading straight through! I can’t wait for the next one. Keep up the good work!
In this book our guy completes the runic realm challenge. After that he’s tutored by a Dead Sword Saint to help his sword dao. He is promoted to Emperor and leaves the pocket realm.
More great storytelling from Jay. Book 9 brings more surprises, more chaos, more laughs and a deepening story. Always keen for another, love this series.
