Between Seasons is a poetry collection that leaves no doubt in our minds that the poet is a great artist. All the poems reveal the concrete and artistic expression of the poet's various moods and thoughts in emotional and rhythmic language.
I am an awkward blend of facultative writer and an obligatory doctor. I chose to become a pediatrician as I have always loved children and the logical science governing their health; I think I am a writer because of my obsessive, introspective conversation with myself. Why I chose poetry as a medium of expression is difficult for me to explain. Perhaps the joy, the wonderment or the conflict and pain of experiences in life poured out in jagged lines that did not demand to be arranged in an orderly text, sounded like poetry to me. I did learn over time to chisel and polish words somewhat.
Reading poetry comes easy to me; every poem, a story in itself, challenges me to explore beyond the words into the poet’s mind. It can be simple, down to earth or a complex jig-saw; it leaves a lasting impression on me. In addition to poetry I like to read books with spiritual and philosophical dimensions.
Between Seasons is my first collection of poems to be published. It deals with my conversation with nature and my relationship with my surroundings. A number of my poems are centered around trees and there are some that talk about dogs, tigers and birds.
I live in India with my family and work with an organization that caters to children’s health needs.
