Jennifer Hedrick is a writer of psychological thrillers known for crafting fast-paced stories with dark twists and complex characters that explore the hidden depths of the human psyche.
She lives in Iowa with her family, where she spends her time reading voraciously, writing into the wee hours of the morning, and constantly chasing after new, spine-chilling story ideas.
When she’s not writing, Jennifer enjoys running along the scenic trails near her home, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen (with varying degrees of success) and, most of all, spending quality time with her family.
Jennifer's love for thrillers developed later in life. While she enjoyed reading romance, she found suspenseful tales of deception, excitement, and mystery even more captivating.
I am in awe of this book! I took my time reading it so I could take it all in. The twists had me second-guessing my ability to predict what would happen next.
The fact that this is her debut novel, that she self-published, makes this book even more amazing! I would love to see her get picked up by a big publisher and make it onto the New York Times Best Selling list one day.
Stayed up way too late and may have neglected my adult responsibilities but I couldn’t stop reading!! Hard to believe this is a debut novel, the twists were revealed at just the right times in the story to keep you guessing how it would end!
I fell asleep reading this book… and not for the reason you might think. I just didn’t have time to read during the day, so I picked it up late at night—and couldn’t put it down. Instead of stopping, I fell asleep with it in my hands.
It’s been a long time since a book gave me that itch to flip ahead and see what happens next. The urge was strong. At the same time, I was enjoying it so much that I wanted to slow down and savor it, which is a rare balance.
I might be a little biased toward the author, but honestly, it’s been a while since I’ve read something that stuck with me like this… where I kept thinking about when I could carve out time to pick it back up. You know that “oh no, WHAT just happened?” moment when a huge twist drops and you realize you still have a chunk of the book left? That feeling hits here, and it hits hard.
Unless your life is a little chaotic like mine right now, this is easily a one-sitting read. (Because you won’t be able to put it down!)
Beyond the suspense, Remember Me Now digs into perception and relationships in a way that lingers. The main character comes across as a genuinely good person on the surface—but as things unfold, it becomes clear that what’s happening to her is tied to the ripple effects of her own past actions. It kind of sneaks up on you.
It also made me think about that uncomfortable gray area: how we see ourselves versus how others might experience us. Especially for overthinkers, there’s this quiet thread of “have I ever been the villain in someone else’s story?” It brushes up against that almost imposter-syndrome feeling, where you start questioning whether you’re as good of a person as you believe, or hope, you are.
And no, that’s not a dumb train of thought. If anything, it’s part of what makes this book stick. It doesn’t just tell a story, it makes you reflect on your own.
Hedrick is a great writer, weaving an interesting story that flows well. I did correctly suspect the main antagonist, probably due to patterns from other thrillers and context from the synopsis. The ending was quite twisted! The chapters with the rat were hard to handle...definitely up there on the most fucked-up things I've read!
However, one of my main critiques was the lack of follow-through on Connor being wire-tapped. He told Katie that the police were outside, which would only be reasonable if their conversation was being monitored. So why didn't police barge in after Katie's admissions, or at the very least after she shot Connor?? If Connor was being properly monitored, the opportunity for the aftermath following his death was improbable. If he was lying about that, then what was the point? I kept waiting to see if that discrepancy was covered in Sarah's recap or the epilogue, but I was disappointed.

Have you ever been so into a book that you want to skip ahead a few pages just to see what happens next—but then make yourself stop because you don’t want to miss anything? That was this book for me.
It completely pulled me in, and the pacing kept me hooked the whole way through. There were several twists and turns I genuinely didn’t see coming, and I loved how the story kept building suspense until the very end.
Highly recommend picking this one up—especially if you enjoy books that keep you guessing.
I don't know how to even describe this book other than wtf that was amazing! Once you think you've figured out the next move , a totally twisted unpredictable scene emerges next and keeps you engaged and guessing. The detail really let's your imagination invision whats happening. Kudos to the author on her debut thriller. Can't wait for her next book!!
What the….! One of the fastest reads I’ve ever read. I won’t spoil anything, but the scene with her leg, omg. The descriptiveness is insane. Congrats on your first book, Jenn!
Jaw dropping twists, yes, multiple jaw drops! I was annoyed that I had to put it down to be a real adult. Fast read that keeps you guessing until the very last page. Excellent debut book. I highly recommend and look forward to what she has coming in the future!
I wanted to like this book so much, but I did not find it riveting or inspired. I was not left on the edge of my seat, nor was I biting my nails. I appreciate indie authors, and I appreciate what the author tried to accomplish, but it seemed to me, especially in the beginning that the author immediately forgot what she wrote within a page and so the female character gave off severe inconsistent background and thoughts. She's in a bar, not looking for a one night stand, oh but she's looking to score maybe a doctor. Inconsistent. I will say I do appreciate her detail to background characters.
I am unsure I would purchase this on Kindle or in hardback form, but I am glad this popped up to try on Kindle Unlimited.
