The Long Middle: Stories of Love, Survival, and What It Means to Be Carried

Rate this book
For a long time, I thought this story would be about what broke me.
It wasn’t.

The Long Middle is a deeply personal memoir about love, survival, and the quiet ways we are carried through the hardest seasons of life.

Through motherhood, friendship, and faith, Kellie Landry reflects on what it means to endure, to heal, and to find meaning in the middle of it all.

Honest, even funny in places, but also quietly tender, this is the kind of book that

If you’ve ever been in survival mode, you’re not crazy. And you’re not alone.

I wasn’t quite sure where this book was going to take me but once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down. It is a story of a young vibrant woman who lost herself in marriage but found herself after divorce and through a deepening devotion to her faith in God, family and friendships. It is honest, vulnerable, and deeply personal. Kellie Landry shares her journey in a way that many women will recognize and connect with.

It is a story about relationships, heartbreak, resilience, and ultimately finding strength and identity again through faith, humility, and gratitude. She could have easily carried anger and bitterness forward from the pain she experienced, but instead she chose a path of grace and love. That choice makes this story not only powerful, but deeply inspiring.

Where to begin? I read this book in less than a day. The ebb and flow of it was like reading, poetry and spoiler alert. There is poetry in it! I don't think I'm biased when I'm saying that this is my friend that wrote this book and I traveled alongside her for some of it but it's beautifully and well written. If you want to read a book that is steeped in faith and friendship and hardship... then, this is the book for you.

I was so engaged in reading this book! The author's writing is eloquent and beautiful. It has humor and heart-breaking true-life stories of a woman's strength, courage, search for peace and healing with the help of God's love and earthly angels He placed in her life. It is an inspiring read to all who have felt broken and forgotten. I believe it will have a positive impact on many lives. "The Long Middle" is a masterpiece!
