The Reset Cruise: Tech-dystopian erotic thriller / transformation mind-control

Sally Henson is tired of being invisible.

The quiet, repressed elementary school teacher books a luxury cruise on the Eclipse for one reason a secret “Personality Reset Retreat” promising to turn her into someone bold, confident, and sexually liberated — just for one week.

What begins as a thrilling fantasy quickly becomes something far more dangerous.

Through advanced binaural audio, custom pheromones, and subtle neurological programming, the ship’s experimental overlays start rewriting her from the inside out. Each session makes her bolder, hungrier, more shameless. She flirts without shame, fucks strangers in public, and begs to be used in ways the old Sally could never imagine.

But the changes aren’t staying temporary.

As the overlays bleed together and grow stronger, Sally finds herself craving the new versions of herself more than her old life. The shy teacher is disappearing. In her place is a woman who lives only for pleasure, exhibition, and total surrender.

By the time the ship docks, Sally no longer wants to go home.

She wants to be reset… permanently.

The Reset Cruise — a dark, high-heat erotic thriller about a woman who asked to become someone else for one week… and got exactly what she wished for.

So this book had a lot of promise. Like the concept behind it is interesting. You know going on a cruise to like reset and like reprogram your personality to like be whatever the hell you want Like it was a really good premise. But the execution was bad. Like there's no way around it to say that. Like I was expecting erotic parts but not in the first chapter And I wasn't expecting it so soon because it felt very out of character and kind of felt like it didn't go with the world on how it works.

Like you have this meek school teacher who's very reserved all that kind of stuff totally makes sense She goes on a cruise to have like a little bit of fun and like you know get out of her comfort zone and have a little bit of a refresh personality wise even if it's only temporary kind of just live her best life. Totally understand that. Although she has literally one session that literally just sounded like basic hypnosis of some sort with like a serene environment that's kind of like a spa and like binaural sounds and sense to kind of like you know trick your brain like okay cool makes sense But like literally after one session she's like already more confident she's like flirting up with a guy at the bar and like okay cool seems a little bit fast cuz I feel like if it worked that quickly it wouldn't be an entire cruise but okay But you know she's having a good time she's flirting with them she's having a whole conversation she's enjoying her life all right whatever. But then she goes to her room and strips naked in front of her mirror and like it starts to literally masturbate and then climax. Like that is such a hard left into like what the fuck territory. Because like it just it feels overly sudden it feels like something that should have been built up to especially if she's so reserved normally any like even after one session I don't see that happening. That seems like a really hard left for her. Like I would definitely understand you know You're getting some attention from the hot guy at the bar and flirting with him Like I can understand having a little bit of a confidence boost you know cuz you're like oh my god I did that And then you go to your room and maybe like catch yourself in the mirror and you're like oh look at me I look good Like just admiring yourself I can understand that after a session. But like full-on stripping naked getting turned on and like masturbating and climaxing right in front of the mirror after one session? Yeah sorry I don't believe that. Like that just went from zero to 60 absolutely no buildup in the first chapter. Cuz like after that I'm just like the transformation's already complete she's clearly very confident already. So where's the payoff? Like I know based off the synopsis that there is supposed to be a little bit more where the personality switch is not actually temporary as claimed but then like she actually ends up liking it and not sure she wants to turn back but then it's just like then what's the point of this? Cuz like we already got the the quick payoff in the beginning and then it's just like if she's ends up liking it like where's the dystopian part? If she likes it and she feels more confident about herself then it's not really a dystopian scenario because she's not afraid of it really It's not like something you dread or anything like that of happening if you're like oh this is actually quite nice I like this we should keep this That's not dystopian. If anything this is just erotic fiction and that's it without the dystopia.
