Finishing this book represents being 40% of the way through my first Open Uni module on BSc Psychology. So many topics covered, very thought provoking as well as learning key concepts and how to construct a social science argument. On to the TMA!

Nice visuals and all. If the books physical density was as low as its information density, it could be used a substitute for helium in airships.

Oh my god…. If I have to read another sentence about City Road, I’m gonna take drastic action.
The material was relevant to my uni course, but bored the life out of me, and I struggled through reading it.
Honestly just glad I finished it, though I did learn some things so there is merit somewhere in those hundreds of pages.

Read as it was a mandatory text.
Sums up the basics of social science well

I found that this textbook was very heavy on sociologist theory and very light on actual social scientific evidence.

Lots of good information in this for my university course. Gets the grey matter going in social sciences. Especially with the big 4 supermarkets and how easily they manipulate

Read for OU. Largely sparse and unengaging material.

Yes, I'm adding my uni textbook so I have a hope of completing my reading challenge! Overall a very interesting and informative read and a great introduction to the social sciences. Well laid out and structured. I enjoyed the first part about City Road more than the second part on making lives but the chapter on supermarket power was very good.
