Indestructible continues the story of the struggle for survival after the events in Days Of Perdition. With massive herds closing in on Tinker Air Force Base, the only option is evacuation, and Tech Sergeant Scott, Irina and Igor must race against time to search for any survivors of the crash.

Still an absolute five star series! But... I don't think I like Katie. I feel like it's a sin to even breathe that. She's just always putting down John. Now I know it's "friendly bantering" - but I feel it goes too far. Seems all her dialogue comprises of busting John's balls. And to do it in front of his team (Martinez so far), unthinkable. For the teammate and the wife to "gang up on" the Major, well to be in line with his character, I can't see him allowing it. Or any major allowing it. Anyway...... on to read the next in the series..... :)
Wow! Just....wow! This book picks right up at the end of the sixth book, 'Days of Perdition' and unbelievably cranks up the action even more!
As Major John Chase wakes up, after a crash, he realizes that once again he has been separated from his 'crew'. Finding everyone, and his injured wife, becomes the one and only mission for him.
The chapters flow seamlessly between the Major's actions, the 'lost crew' and the survivors at Tinker. The writing is so detailed, but does not affect the pace of this book. In fact, all of Mr. Payton's descriptions do nothing but intensify the excitement and ferocity of the story!
While each group attempts to overcome challenges, this book solidifies, exemplifies and testifies to the undeniable human spirit and perseverance. Still one of my favorite series! Extremely well done!
Book Seven in the V Plague series is great. I don’t know how the author keeps thinking up action sequences, but happily he does, and at times outdoes himself. The new character introduced , Joe, really adds to the series. It will be a pleasure to see what Joe gets up to as he is flown to Seattle. This is a fantastic apocalyptic series, amd I highly recommend it.
So much action, never quit action, downright dangerous action. This series is dragging on, like the character development, don't like good guys dying, so get one with it whatever the outcome. I know some deaths are coming, but who? What's up with those infected females? They are too smart for their own species.
The 7th book in the series was just as awesome as the previous 6. New characters were introduced and more of the infected were killed. All of this was written in such a way that nothing was boring. Kudos to the author.
I decided to read this series for the 2 nd time. I just had to stop and let y'all Know this series still ROCKS the 2nd time around!! Read it!!! You will be so happy you did!! * Blessings Mystyc 💜
The action continues to different angles. The survivors are fighting for their lives. John, Rachel, Dog and their friends trying to rip apart the Russians plans.
John's Katie is found but all of them will survive. I can't wait to find out
This was yet another exciting, pulse pounding, what's gonna happen book! Took off right from the end of book 6 and just cruised. Never a dull moment (though sometimes I wish for the characters to have a BREATHER!!!). I have already purchased book 8 and cannot wait to continue the journey.
The story is riveting, the action is constant, and I’m hooked! The characters seem like real people stuck in a nightmare. If you don’t read this series, you’re missing out on a superbly written story.
Action is ratcheting up. As the infection mutates, the characters deal with being split up, again. But heavy hitters are together for the most part. Transpo is secure. "Wagons West!"
Great book, a few times it seems like characters jump out of character just to make things look cooler. Seems it changed the narrator, but it's as bad as before and makes it much harder to enjoy the book.
In today’s environment. It’s hard not to image something like millions of infected invading. Anyhow, this series is lighting up my Kindle. The Bradley is off to Idaho. The Colonels might make it to the Bahamas and the major is on another journey.
Love it when my favorite characters survive. Wish the author was a bit more familiar with the topography of OK, but still using the imagnation of a good author.
There are so many books in this series and I’m thrilled! I have not been this deeply engrossed in a series in a long time and each book pulls me in further.
What more can be said about the Voodoo Plague series? Fast paced, action packed, emotional roller coaster of practically incessant life or death strife. Excellent writing and editing.
Though I love the series, I dislike quick reads that leave the reader in a perpetual state of waiting for continuation. This is the seventh in the series, and I don't see a plausible or satisfactory end it sight. I'd love to see much longer books for the $5 price point of each installment as the monetary investment ($35+) to read the series is ever burgeoning. Also, though the constant strife is the focal point of the series, it is beginning to feel a bit repetitive.
What do you get when the Navy, Marines, Army and Air Force decide to have a party? Lots of dead infected. Especially when there is no civilian government in the way try to tell the military how to do their jobs. Traitorous president and the military officers following her orders out of the way and the military is doing what they do best, protecting civilians and killing the enemy.
Can't wait for the next book.

Well, Mr Patton has done it once again. Book 7 is yet another page-turning thrill ride. This time he threw in underground caverns full of infected that John has to navigate to get to his wife. We learn the virus has side effects to those who have been given the immunization but still got the virus. And, yet again, we are left with a cliff-hanger of an ending that has me diving into book 8 immediately.
The only disappointment I feel is that u finished the book. Now begins the intolerable wait for number 8. I have always loved Dog and now there's a Horse to love also. Never a dull moment for sure. Is Rachel okay after her plane was shot down by the Russians? Enquiring minds want to know!!!
Some of the best writing I have read in a long time. Every line, page, paragraph, chapter and book keeps you entranced and thirsty for the next one. The characters are real, your neighbor, friend, relation or co-worker is here. You there right beside the characters cheering them on. Great story line. Just really nice read. Thank You Dirk.
I’ve read this series completely 4-5x, but this is likely my 6th time reading Indestructible. This is one of my favorites of the series, honestly. Favorite moments: - Cave scene as he’s approaching Katie - Finding Martinez - Battle at Tinker
The final battle at Tinker is my #2 fav of the series, topped only by the battle at Murphfreesboro.

I can set it down for a couple days and pick it up and feel the same excitement, anger, curiosity, terror, and other emotions about various characters that make books great and readable
This is an awesome series written by an exceptional author. Thanks Dirk, I may be reading a lot of your books, but my sleep cycle has been significantly disrupted :-)
Wow, what a fantastic book ! I loved all the action and suspense as to whether Katie and Martinez are ready to turn. I can't wait to read the next book in the series !!!
Don't give 5 star reviews often and NEVER for "zombie" fiction. Mr. Patton has earned the praise, however. Against all odds (just like Major Chase), he has managed to make each book of the series better than the last. Outstanding work, soldier!
Absolutely LOVE this series!!! I hate the way it ended, but I cant wait for book 8! How long will I have to wait until I know what happens to Rachel and John and Katie??? The suspense!!!
