Passion Rules Everything

It’s been two years since Nairobi Crawford ghosted everyone in the Banks Crew — including the one who mattered most: Fontaine Jackson. But when her estranged father dies and leaves behind more secrets than answers, she has no choice but to return to the city — and the man — she ran from.

Fontaine tried his best to move on. It didn’t work. Now Nairobi’s back with problems bigger than both of them and walls he’s not sure she’ll ever let down. But walking away from her has never been an option — even when it should be.

Between old wounds, new threats, they’ll have to decide if what they’re building can survive what’s coming for them.

ARC REVIEW

You know a read will be amazing when you take the time to document the feelings you have DURING the read.

Not just highlighting but actually taking notes.

First, if you are not familiar with this author, I fear you are missing amazing writing and storytelling so go check out their catalog.

ESPECIALLY to be a newer author, whew!

Back to this book specifically-

This story was so well set up in Cash Rules Everything that I knew I had to see this couple up close and personal!

Our FMC is a beast! But that MMC is her perfect match.

Every turn, our FMC fought her desires and every turn our MMC was in hot pursuit.

Chapter 23 broke me emotionally. It was so well written that I really had to go back to read how Chapter 22 ended to understand its “abruptness”.

That’s a very minor detail to add but a major indicator to me of how intentional this author is- I LOVE THAT!

This author did an amazing job getting the readers to feel emotions organically versus telling us how to feel.

That’s talent!

That’s amazingly impressive coming from a new author!

I have my predictions for the next book- yes, I’ve already planned the next book's couple and actions.

However, this was an amazing read. For me, I would almost say the best read I’ve had this year… It was amazing.

I love when authors write how they envision their story and take risks with characters and emotions that make the story go from good to amazing.

*ARC Review* Thoughts are my own as always!

If you read my review on Cash Rules Everything you know I’ve been hoping, waiting and praying on Bear and Kitten’s book and I was BLESSED to get it as the second book! Yay for me!! Nah for real though I was excited about it lol. On to the review…

We’re two years forward from Cash Rules Everything and Nairobi and Fontaine aren’t speaking because Nairobi is a runner she’s a track-star from anything emotional or emotionally adjacent. She’s forced back to Atlanta by unforeseen circumstances and the rest is a ride as she and Fontaine encounter each other again and unexpected shenanigans.

Mrs. Taylor spins an elaborate tale of Nai’s self discovery in emotional connection and complexities she’s denied herself. While Fontaine rubbed me the wrong way for a little second I had to stop and realize he was a man who wore his heart on his sleeve and was left bleeding by this woman and still stood ten toes by her. The crew of course is back with their quips and one liners. We also meet Fontaine’s family which was a great addition to the crew. I love that Lani and Monica are intertwined in instead of their own book because getting glimpses of them is always fun but they didn’t strike me as needing a whole book.

I enjoyed this one and thought it was well written and had an easier flow to it than the first book and I enjoyed the first book. Excited to see what the third book brings us.

Nairobi is basically the Sha’Carri Richardson of emotional avoidance. If there’s a difficult conversation to be had or emotions to be felt, she’s already halfway down the track. But once her backstory starts unfolding, her actions become a lot easier to understand. Fontaine, on the other hand, is patient…until he realizes he can’t keep sacrificing himself for someone who won’t meet him halfway. Honestly, I couldn’t be mad at either of them.

Two years later, they find themselves back in each other’s orbit, and the tension is immediate. Fontaine was giving full-on “choose me, love me” Meredith Grey energy because that man was absolutely down bad for his Kitten. 🤣 Despite all her running, it was obvious Nairobi loved her Bear just as much.

While Nairobi tested my patience a few times, I appreciated that the story didn’t shy away from showing how her past shaped her decisions. I also liked the way Fontaine held her feet to the fire while consistently showing her that he was a safe space for her. Add in the suspense, family drama, and twists along the way, and I stayed invested to see how everything would come together.

With that ending, I genuinely have no clue where this series is headed, which only makes me more curious to see what happens next.

ARC Review

Passion Rules Everything, book 2 in the Banks Crew series, follows Nairobi (Nai/Kitten) and Fontaine (Bear) after the events of Book 1, Cash Rules Everything. Their story jumps in two years after the end of book 1 and the events surrounding Cash & Jasmine's rollercoaster love affair. Nai & Bear continue their push & pull, give & take, passion and frustration as Fontaine chases the elusive, seductive Nairobi - who left him high & dry after New York.

Nai has always ducked & dodged, refused to settle down and put down roots - no thanks to her father who taught (trained) her never to do so. She was a valuable asset FIRST (and I mean that seriously), a "daughter" SECOND, leaving her no room for worthwhile platonic or romantic relationships - everything is surface level - until Bear. Tragedy forced her to return to ATL and back in Bear's grasp, but at what cost?

In this second installment of the Banks Crew, we see how down bad Bear is for Nai, how far he's willing to go; for her love, protection and security - to ground Nai. to keep Nai. to steady Nai. most importantly to love her, properly. Roxanne Taylor brings the stubborn, the hardheaded and the passion through words yet again in Passion Rules Everything, setting us up for one hell of a book 3 finale with the Banks Crew and their shenanigans.

ARC REVIEW!

Two years into her disappearing act, Nai has no choice but to return to Atlanta and lay her father to rest. Which also means running into Fontaine Jackson.

Nairobi was a sore spot for him, one that refused to leave his mind or body. She was a part of him, even when she denied herself of him.

I truly enjoyed being back with the Banks Crew. While life had move on for some, Nairobi and Fontaine couldn’t quite get over each other; the pull was too strong no matter how much time had passed.

Nai always did what she wanted and truly didn’t care what anyone felt about it, living with no attachments and thriving in the shadows, until she had to face herself, her family, friends, and the one who holds her heart.

Roxanne girl! You had me cracking up at Cash and Jas all over again, then crying thug tears. Now why would you do that?!

I might put my tin foil hat on, I have questions!

ARC!!!!
Omg this book was so good! One thing about Fontaine is that he doesn’t play bout Nairobi! The growth of these characters was amazing to watch. I wanted to bebop Nai in her head a couple times but I could see why she was the way she was. The way Fontaine stood behind her and had her back was amazing! He definitely fell first and loved her even when she didn’t think she could be loved. To see Nai in Cash Rules I knew my girl was running but I ain’t know it was like that. There was some back and forth (but not too much), the pace was amazing, character development on point and dare I say I may just love this couple just as much as Cash and Jasmine.
I’m not gone hold you, a thug shed a couple tears cause WHHHHYYYYYYYY would you do that to me (I’m not spoiling yall gotta be heartbroken like me) I’m so glad that one lady got what she deserved with her snake butt! I can’t wait to see what’s next for the Banks crew!

Thank you for this ARC copy.

Passion rules everything in the end.....

This was a continuation from Cash Rules everything. There we met Nairobi and Fontaine. Here the two are the focal point and the chaos, love fear and danger continues. Nairobi is still deep in her trauma bag but is slowly coming to realize Fontaine isn't giving up so easy. Kitten and Bear are once again thrust into each other's orbit. Faced with life-changing information, these two realize that running won't solve anything and they are better off together than apart. I love the unity of the Crew. I knew someone wouldn't survive but dang it I still wasn't prepared. Hopefully our girl will continue to prioritize her healing as allow herself to love and be loved at her fullest.

Maybe next up more updates for Jelani and Monica. Or maybe Cj?

ARC Review:

Fontaine … a man who knows what he wants and fights for it because to him she’s worth the battle ! Nairobi… a woman who has always stood on her own and never been loved before so she doesn’t know how to receive it so when things gets hard she always runs!

I knew their story would crack my chest open and it did when she finally said “ I wanna try. I wanna see what it’s like to let you love me forreal” i felt so seen in this moment . You ever felt like you didn’t deserve to be loved so much so you don’t know what do with it when it comes along? That’s Fontaine and Nairobi aka. bear and kitten!

There was messy drama, betrayal, secrets, etc.
Loyalty was tested! It’s not over just yet …..

We’re back with Fontaine (Bear) and Nairobi (Kitten), who we first met in Cash Rules Everything. After spending two years running from Fontaine, it took a death to bring Nairobi back to the one place she swore she’d never return… Atlanta.

Baby, when I say this book had me stressed! 🤯 The plot twists just kept coming—secret siblings, secret societies, and secrets on top of secrets. Every time I thought I had it figured out, Roxanne Taylor proved me wrong.

And that ending?! I definitely wasn’t expecting that! Now I’m over here counting down until book three because I NEED answers.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five stars for Kitten and Bear! If you love second chances, suspense, family drama, and twists that keep you turning the pages, this one belongs on your TBR.

I made the mistake of picking this up before work and it’s now 11am and I’ve yet to check an email.

I love a good side quest book! Start me one path and then throw me down a few hills other directions and then send me down the OG path! This book does exactly that. I wont get too heavy on the plot because it’s unreleased but you’ll think youre going down one path and end up in an entire new city but without a single complaint.

I look forward to whatever else Mrs. Taylor writes 🩷

Bear and Kitten 🥹🥹🥹 so glad we get their story! I love how Fontaine loves Nairobi! (Almost) Everyone deserves to experience that type of love. Being told and shown what the soft life is like in the midst of chaos. Mind you, there’s A LOT of chaos in here lol.

I also love that we got to see familiar faces 🤗 Jas and Cash, slim, some of the reapers 🤸🏽‍♀️

Huge thank you to Roxanne Taylor for giving me the opportunity to read this before release day! Love you and your writing down 💕💕💕

Must Read!!!
Fontaine was down bad for Nairobi and I loved every minute of it. Nairobi had her guard up, but Fontaine wasn’t ready to let go. I loved that Nairobi was strong, stood on her decisions, and didn’t fold easy. Fontaine was my favorite his protective side sealed the deal for me. Add in the passion, suspense, chaos, and the crew from book one, this was a great read.

I need compensation for the emotional rollercoaster this series put me through!! I fell in love with each character and enjoyed reading their individual storyline. You can get a good sense on how important family is to the Banks Crew even till the end.

This series is getting good! Nairobi definitely deserves a happy ending too. I hope therapy helps heal the relationship with her Mother.
I was looking forward to Fontaine and Nairobi’s story, and now I’m looking forward to the continuation of Drea and Slim’s story.

It’s definitely not over. I can’t wait to read the next installment.

I don’t believe for a minute Slim is dead!

Cash Rules Everything introduced us to Fontaine and Nairobi, and their backstory was one I’d been waiting for. Nairobi gave off such a tough exterior that I needed to know what was behind it. This story finally gave us the deeper look into their relationship and why they both moved the way they did.

Fontaine gave protector vibes the entire book, constantly trying to crack that hard shell and be there for Nai however he could. Their chemistry, loyalty, and emotional tension kept me locked in from beginning to end. This story had everything I enjoy! We had Cash, passion, drama, secrets, and just the right dose of violence to keep me involved.

The Banks crew did not disappoint at all. The pace in this one was good, it didn’t move slow at all. It kept the foolishness coming on each page. This isn’t the end of The Banks crew and can’t wait to see who next!
