I wanted to read this one especially since Ma$e has entered into the spotlight after his claim of becoming a man of God.
I did not agree with everything that he stated in the book but most things were on point from my opinion.
1.You can tell when he wrote the book he was in the beginning of his walk still. How do I know because like us all when we find something we love we down talk others actions (judging) and we want everyone to do and say how we chose to. Many of us has encountered our hyper religious stage in our life and I feel this was where he was when he wrote this book.
2. If you are looking for name drops and details about inside industry , this is not the book that you will find it in.
3. book is filled with scriptures and sermons along with this stories.
4. I am still not sure if he did marry the young lady or not , I will more than likely have to google that. (okay so he did marry the young lady but divorced 2001-2014)
5. Those that follow him, knows since the publication of this book he made a comeback in the music biz yes with Diddy and it was great, in fact they make great workout songs. In this year along 2022, he has been in the media speaking against Diddy. Not sure as to why because in the book he provided no negative thoughts about Diddy.

Overall it is a decent word especially for believers. It is a decent story of a man that found God so of course that is worth a read.

After having read Revelations, I believe that Mason loves God and is fully converted and committed to God’s will. However, his ministry has no appeal to me. All the talk about living good to get to heaven was terribly empty. There’s no social justice at all. Christianity that merely ushers people to heaven isn’t doing anything revelatory to me. I respect him for being a God made man and not glorifying his past life like in most celebrity autobiographies, but if I had to read about him opening the bible to a random place one more time, I was going to be utterly unconvinced that God was guiding him anywhere. And there’s this sermon chopped up into pieces before every chapter that’s simply horrible. It’s unintelligible and borders on the ludicrous. The literal interpretations of everything are laughable. It’ so poorly written unlike the narrative itself which means once again Karen Hunter deserves mad props for her tireless commitment to creating coherence out of chaos. There, I managed to say it nicely.

At the time he wrote this, Mason Betha was willing to give up everything for God EXCEPT the terms of his NDA with Diddy.

It's amusing to read about how adamant he was about not going back to rap for him to then go back to rap. No standing on business to be found.

I was entertained but this had 0 editing. Did the cowriter just glance at it and say good job Ma$e?

When i first read this book i was very excited because i like the rapper Mase. Usually if i read a its something about it that captures my attention before i actually open the book.This book happened to be one of those books that automatically was interested in. When i began reading i Thought that it would be a lot about the music industry, and how he got famous. But his story wast far different. this story was total redemption. it explain how he struggled in life and how he returned back to his religion.
Well i would hate to spoil the book for those who are yet to reads this book. but i must tell you of my favorite part. It was like a movie scene as Mase sits in his mansion, all his success was what he dreamed for but for some odd reason it didnt amount to anything. he explained how you can gain the whole world and loose your soul. that day as hate and a pain ran through him, he smoked some weed and went to church. he hasnt been to church in a while, but he went there and felt this over whelming feeling that brought him to the alter. at that minute he gave his soul to the lord and got rid of all that he gained from the world.
in all this story shows a lot about the ups and downs in life and whole morals have more value the materials. also it shows how the things that you go against your morals to gain can be gained if you really commit to your morals. Mase eventually became a pastor of a church in New York and is still African American males especially those who are amongst poverty. if you are in that category than i suggest you read it.

this book is okay, I read it but it's my mom's book.When I read it I thought mase has changed, but the next year I found out he was with badboy again. So has he changed I dont think he did.
