Survivor's: A Love story is more than just a love story, don't let the title put you off. Yes, there is romance but the undercurrent to the story is fascinating and great. Bitter sweet revenge, mystery, stalking, abduction and so much more.
It is written well and the narrative moves the story forward, steady at first, but once the dynamics of family, love and business have been identified all hell breaks out and the story becomes gripping and fast paced. The story kept me captivated. Emma Scott knows how to write suspense and uses characters that are believable, mainly because they have flaws.
I usually have a good idea what happens at the end of a book I am reading but I can honestly say I didn't predict the end, I got it wrong, and that is down to great story telling with twists.
Yes, a love story but also a thriller mystery that leaves a person sitting at the edge of their seat waiting to turn the next page in breathless anticipation. There is a lot of well-constructed tension between the two who were once close. Gradually, the action unfolds to reveal the bitterness of the initial split as they are forced to work together in a business situation.
I enjoyed every moment of this book and will be looking out for more of the same. Highly recommended.
This book was not good. The dialogue was really people just making long speeches to each other. The author just stated facts about the characters and backstory without showing them. I felt no connection to any of the MCs or the story. This book was also in desperate need of another edit. There were tons of punctuation, spelling and word use errors. I would give it fewer stars if I could.
The Orcel siblings are a tight knit group. They have faced hardships and losses and survived. Now they are facing an even bigger trial. With twists, turns and deceit, who can they trust?
This story was a page Turning adventure. The manner in which it was told was flawless. I enjoyed this book so much I had trouble setting the book down. Thank you for sharing this book with us!!
This is not just a love story. It is fast pace with a thrilling plot involving family, money and business. It is well-written with nicely developed likeable characters. I enjoyed reading this love story with twist and turns that kept me guessing to the very end! Well done!
Great story, although more than a love story. I would suggest this is more love story mixed with thriller suspense. It keeps you hooked until the end, and wanting more once it is done!
I liked the story a lot but my rating is based on mainly grammatical errors.
The first issue is that the cover has Survivors yet the title here has an apostrophe... (and shouldn't have). Again as you start the book there are spelling errors (champagne on the very first page), and general editing issues. For me this detracted from the story itself and I found it frustrating as a reader as I wanted to edit the book myself.
This would be a great read with some good editing and I encourage the author to look into this.
