These days, Daryn's hair is usually up in a scrunchie, but you might remember her more than 12 years as an anchor on CNN when a team of professional make up artists cleaned her up on a daily basis. She also reported live from several major events around the world, including the war in Iraq, the September 11th terrorist attacks and numerous presidential elections giving her parents plenty to worry about.

Today, Daryn continues her television career as the host of RLTV's "Bookmark," a weekly talk show featuring the top authors of today.

Daryn is also a syndicated newspaper columnist for Cox Newspapers. Her weekly, "What's Possible!" column inspires readers in newspapers across the country. She is the creator and host of DarynKagan.com, the web's one-stop destination for uplifting and positive stories fitting the theme, "Show the World What is Possible."

Daryn first book, "What's Possible! 50 True Stories of People Who Dared To Dream They Could Make a Difference" can be found online at Amazon.com.

Daryn currently makes her home in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband, daughter, and her Little Sister from the Big Brother Big Sister program.

There's also one rescue dog, one 3-legged cat, and 9 crazy chickens laying eggs and squawking in her backyard.

All this means more days than not, she reminds herself that she swapped that glamorous TV anchor life to make dinner, drive carpool, and raise two awesome girls. Oh, and collect fresh eggs.

Thank goodness for fresh eggs.

They may be cheezy but books like these are right up my alley. Hearing about people's personal lives and how they manage them is fun and even more fun for me are inspirational stories of overcoming great obstacles. This book describes these people.

A lovely assortment of stories of survivors and achievers who make a difference. I like these in smaller doses, a few before bed or a couple in the morning. I am very surprised I found this quality of a book at a local dollar store! It definitely is better than that.

Some of my favorites: Ben's Bells; A hospital for Harar; Serving up Inspiration; and Smooth Mooove.
