Before Nurse Pam there was Nurse Crummy. Maddie Crum to her friends.
She loves baking, all things Nancy Drew and can cure what ails you.
She can also kidnap, torture and kill. Whatever her boss, David Pilcher wants, she delivers. With a smile.
And now she has a new job: mentor a fourteen-year-old girl named Pam, a girl Pilcher found shivering in the cold one frigid Chicago night in December, 2006.
Raising Pam is a creepy, psychological thriller that picks up where Blake Crouch left off in Book Two of the Wayward Pines series, moments after a teenaged Pam arrives at Pilcher’s Drake Hotel room.
Two damaged souls in a place called Wayward Pines, shaping the future of the human species. What could possibly go wrong?
I have written 14 books in the Miss Fortune World, licensed fan fiction of Jana DeLeon's Miss Fortune Mysteries. Currently, I'm writing an original paranormal cozy mystery series featuring two enemies-in-life who team with a living medium to solve crimes.
I enjoyed this book. Getting to know Pam from a 14 year old before Wayward Pines up to her 20's in Wayward Pines and seeing how she became as sadistic as she was made for good reading. I really felt for Maddie...a mother who lost her family and only wanted to be a mother again, and really tried with Pam.
I have read several of the companion stories for Wayward Pines & I think this was one of the best. While being a stand-alone story it also gave the background of how Pilcher found & raised Pam. This story also followed the original story. Too many of the stories don't follow the original plot at all.
Ms. Hearn has done it again. She created a new character in Maddie and thus made this storyline an original. Just enough of wayward pine plot but nice spin. Great ending, I hope she continues writing for the wayward pines community.
