The best goes on

Such a great series. Fun characters. Lots of excitement. You can't wait to start the next book as soon as you finish the one you are reading.

This book represents David Leadbeater's ambitious effort to unite three of his "world saving" teams in a single "do or die" challenge. SPEAR (Matt Drake), The Gold Team (Alicia Myles), and The Razors Edge (Chris Collins) are called upon to work together to locate and neutralize a well funded, well equipped group of terrorists, the Pythians. The struggle takes place across international boundaries from Los Angeles to London, Paris, and Mt. Olympus in Greece. The action is non-stop, and the body count is high, even for Leadbeater. The only pauses in the action throughout the whole story come when the repartee between the team members gets to be sometimes silly, sometimes suggestive, and, many times, just off-the-wall. As in most stories of this type, there are running gun battles where more ammunition is expended than the combatants could conceivably carry, even if they each had a loaded truck. Another anomaly is the presence of, not one, but four, 300 ton dumpers (dump trucks in the US) on the streets of Long Beach, CA. This size truck is designed for off-road use in open pit mines and the like. Could city streets handle the 600,000 pound behemoths? I wonder.

Despite the questions, this is a good story that will keep you up at night to see just how the teams get along together, and how they solve the problems they are confronted with.

David Leadbetter does it again!

The Drake Series are gaining speed and power at a exponential rate. What looks reckless and haphazard is actually a well orchestrated piece of literature that keeps you coming back for more. With the addition of characters, good and evil and the loss of others it never gets stale. Between the tears and laughter the action never stops. There's no time to ruminate. His characters are some of the most enjoyable as well as memorable individuals that have graced the pages of action thrillers. So put on your seatbelt and hold on to your knickers ,Matt Drake 10 is almost here and will be one Hell of a ride.

What can I say apart from this could possibly be the best so far from David. Billed as a crossover bringing together Drake's Team, Alicia's Team and The Disavowed could have ended up as a confusing mess, but no David expertly weaved the story around all three teams and mixing up members when necessary and then we get the cliffhanger thank goodness Drake 10 is hot on this one's heels and with so many loose ends floating about I hope Drake 11 is not too far off
Well done David great story, great pace and totally engrossing.

Matt Drake returns for his ninth adventure, this time team SPEAR are joined by The Disavowed and Team Gold in a cross over novel that pits them against the Pythian's, bidding for world domination!! This is another good book from David Leadbeater, full on action from start to finish. The team interactions are again well developed, especially between Drake and the mad swede, who needs his own spin off series. Already looking forward to book ten.

Wow! Author Leadbeater did it again.

If you have read books 1 thru 8, you already love all of the characters and hope the author won't kill any of them off in the next book. This 9th book won't disappoint Matt Drake fans as to thrills and interaction between Drake and the others on his team. Two more teams join Drake et al to fight the worst criminals in the history of this series. Enjoy the ride. I am onto Book 10.

As usual, a truly engaging book!

If you have read any of David's other books, then you will know what is awaiting you in this book. If you have not read his other books, then get set for a wonderfully exciting read. I can almost guarantee that you will not want to set this book down.

Fast paced action

A megalomaniac, weaponized plague, and an army of mercenaries, all aimed at Drake and an expanded team of warriors. If you're a fan of gunfight, grenades, car chases and generalized mayhem, don't miss this book!

Loved getting all the team's together.

Having a great time with the Matt Drake books. Great adventures with awesome characters. Not real sure about that ending though. How rude and that's all I will say about that.

Edge of your seat thrill ride!

I love that the hero's are not perfect and the stories are wrapped around myths you grew up with. I also like that the story lines can still surprise me.

Crossover

This incredible story brings together 3 different groups, all of whom are superlative at fighting the good fight. Also, they all three are the author's creations. So well done and so exciting. And best of all, there is always more to come. What could be better!

The Plagues of Pandora - a review by Rosemary Kenny

As we all know, the original Pandora was an Eve-like woman, created by the Greek gods and set down atop Mount Olympus (possibly equivalent to the Biblical Eden), with a box (like the apple from a forbidden tree),full of all the virtues and evils of the world - and told not to open it. Of course to fulfil the legend she did and the world has suffered the consequences ever since.

Fast forward to the present day and the remaining contaminant evils, of plague, pestilence and others, are being used as a threat,to achieve world domination, by initially targeting three major cities - L.A, London and Paris - all at the same time, organised by the so-called Chairman (of the Novensiles (or New Gods sect),that has hidden within the Pythians, another secret society that he also leads.
Of course it's not long before the three 'arms' of the original SPEAR team, Drake and his friends, are brought together and dispatched by leader Hayden (acting with her command/comms squad, Karin and Lauren),to stop the apocalyptic threat.

An all-action 9th Book in David Leadbeater's Matt Drake series, The Plagues of Pandora will take your breath away over and over again (& not just because there might be a virus spore lurking nearby).
Grab your copy today and make sure you read all the other previous 8 books in order to get the backstory and earlier missions leading to this one, for maximum reading pleasure!

Decent crossover. Focused on the two better teams

Hopefully this marks a change going forward. Series has become very cliche. Also stunt character deaths feel hollow. Not bad just repetitive

So good but follow the reading order

All of the characters are complex and unique individuals. You love them and lose them but the stories and twists are so good. Non stop action! Can't wait to learn what happens next!
