พยายยามแล้วนะ พยายามจะชอบเรื่องนี้เหมือนที่คนอื่นๆเค้าอวยกัน แต่ทำยังไงก็ยังไม่รู้สึกชอบมากมายขนาดนั้น มีคนเคยเอาเรื่องนี้ไปเทียบกับชุด โฉมงามบรรณาการ ของ สนพ.ห้องสมุด ส่วนตัวคิดว่ายังห่างชั้นกันเยอะค่ะ

ในแง่ของเนื้อเรื่องและพล็อต ไม่เถียงเลยว่าแน่นมาก ดีมากจริงๆ หักเหลี่ยมชิงไหวพริบกันเพลินเลย ซึ่งคิดว่าอันนี้คือจุดแข็งของเรื่อง ชอบคาแรคเตอร์ของพระเอกค่ะ แมนๆดี ผู้ชายแบบนี้เวลามีค.รักก็จะดูน่ารัก ส่วนตัวละครอื่นก็ช่วยกันเสริมบทบาทกันและกัน ผูกออกมาเป็นโครงเรื่องน่าสนใจและน่าติดตาม

ตัวละครสำคัญที่เรายังตัดสินใจไม่ได้ว่าชอบหรือเกลียดปรากฏว่าคือ ป๋ายพิงถิง หรือตัวนางเอกของเรื่อง ซึ่งมุมนึงก็เข้มแข็ง ใจเย็น ฉลาดมากถึงมากที่สุด แต่อีกมุมที่เราเกลียดมากคือ ร้องไห้บ่อยมากกกกกกกกกก ร้องไห้ง่ายโคตรๆ แล้วดูไม่สุขุมเยือกเย็นเลย อ่านแล่วรำคาญหลายตินมาก โดยเฉพาะตอนคร่ำครวญหาพระเอกช่วงครึ่งแรกเล่มสอง คืออ่านแล้วกลอกตารัวๆๆๆ คือถ้าปูเรื่องนางเอกเป็นคนฉลาดสมองไบรท์ขนาดนี้ อย่างน้อยควรเสริมให้นางเอกเป็นคน independent ด้วย จะเสริมสร้างความเป็นไอดอลให้นางเอกเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างมาก (อารมณ์แบบ กู้อวิ๋น ใน เพชรยอดขุนพล คือนางแบบ แกร่ง ฉลาด แข็งนอกอ่อนใน ไร้น้ำตาแต่ไม่ได้ไร้หัวใจ คือดีมาก)

ครึ่งเล่มสองเป็นช่วงที่ค่อนข้างดราม่า และรู้สึกว่าอ่านยากมาก นางเอกทำตัวน่ารำคาญมากกกกกกก ร้องไห้ทั้งวัน อดข้าวเรียกร้องความสนใจ ฯลฯ จนทนอ่านต่อไปไม่ไหวอ่ะ ไม่ชอบคนแบบนี้มากๆๆๆๆๆ เหมือนที่ผ่านมาทุกคนพยายามยัดเยียดว่านางเอกเก่ง เหมือนคนแต่งพยายามสะกดจิตเข้าหัวให้เรามองว่านางเอกเก่งให้ได้ โดยการใส่การอวยจากตัวละครเสริมเข้าไปเยอะๆๆ (เช่นเสี่ยวหง หรือจุ้ยจวี๋ ที่พอเข้าเรื่องมาก็อวยความสง่าสวยงามของนางเอกรัวๆๆ) ซึ่งมันก็ควรจะคล้อยตามเพราะนางเอกเก่งและฉลาดจริง เรายอมรับว่าคนแต่งเขียนพล็อตหักเหลี่ยมเฉือนคมออกมาค่อนข้างดี แต่เหมือนมันมีบางอย่างเกี่ยวกับคาแรกเตอร์นางเอกที่เราไม่ชอบ เพราะเราไม่ชอบให้ heroine ของเรื่องพึ่งพาพระเอกมากเกินไปจนอ่านแล้วเบ้หน้า ยิ่งอ่านยิ่งไม่รู้สึกชอบนางเอกเลยอ่ะ...ไอ้บทโศกน้ำตาแตกนี่ลดทอนค.น่าเชื่อถือของนางเอกลงไปเยอะมากกกกกก (โดยเฉพาะช่วงครึ่งแรกของเล่มสอง คือมันว้อทเดอะฟัคมาก เหมือนอ่านนิยายไทยยุคเมื่อสามสิบสี่สิบปีที่แล้วที่นางเอกโดนพระเอกข่มเหงแต่สุดท้ายก็รัก เหมือนไม่เคารพคุณค่าของตัวเองบอกไม่ถูก)

ทั้งนี้ ในแง่ตวามสัมพันธ์ระหว่างพระเอกกับนางเอก ความจริงแล้วเรื่องราวที่เป็นไปก็ย่อมมีเหตุผลในตัวของมัน (เช่น นางเอกยืดอกรับผิดว่ามีส่วนทำให้หลานของพระเอกตาย เลยรู้สึกผิด เลยมอบตัวให้พระเอก ซึ่งรักเกินกว่าจะฆ่าทิ้งเลยเอาไปกักขังหน่วงเหนี่ยวไว้ ไม่พอทั้งทำร้ายร่างกายจิตใจแต่นางเอกก็สมยอมเพราะคิดว่าตนเองสมควรแล้วที่โดนแบบนั้น ฯลฯ) แต่ส่วนตัวคิดว่าความเป็นเหตุเป็นผลยังไม่ดีพอที่ทำให้เราคล้อยตามได้ คิดว่าสิ่งที่นางเอกทำไปไม่ใช่เหตุผลที่จะทำให้ตัวเองไปเสนอตัวให้พระเอกกักขังไว้แล้วกระทำชำเรา ทำร้ายจิตใจอยู่อย่างนั้นเกือบปี ตัวเองไม่เห็นคุณค่าของตัวเอง เหมือนเป็นการโปรโมท rape culture แบบผิดๆยังไงไม่รู้ ไม่ชอบเลย แล้วมาร้องห่มร้องไห้เรียกร้องความสนใจพระเอก ขู่จะฆ่าตัวตายบ้างอะไรบ้าง เหมือนนางเอกละครไทยหลังข่าว ส่วนตัวเราคิดว่ามันไม่โอเค ที่จะให้คาแรกเตอร์ของนางเอกออกมาแบบนี้ (อารมณ์เหมือนผู้หญิงที่โดนแฟนซ้อมแต่ยังไม่ยอมตีจากเพราะความรักบังตา)

แล้วพอฉากความรักของพระนางก็เหมือนโดนยัดเยียดรัวๆ ว่ารักกันมากกกกแต่ด้วยสถานะเลยอยู่อย่างมีความสุขไม่ได้ พระเอกต้องเย็นชา นางเอกคิกว่าทนได้แต่สุดท้ายทนไม่ได้ โอ๊ยยยยยยย นี่มันละครช่องเจ็ดหรอวะ เราไม่โอเคกับพระเอกมากฉากไล่ตามนางเอกในเล่มสอง คือตัวเองเป็นถึงแม่ทัพใหญ่สะท้านแผ่นดิน แต่เอาบุคลากรที่มีคุณภาพในสังกัดไปสังเวยชีวิตเพราะเรื่องผัวๆเมียๆเนี่ยนะ? ตายเป็นร้อยๆนะคะฉากนั้นคิดในแง่ความเป็นจริงคือเราไม่ยอมนะ ให้พ่อพี่ชายน้องชายมาตายเพราะแม่ทัพคลั่งรักวิ่งตามหาเมียเนี่ยนะ

แล้วยังไงนะ มีนางเอกน้อยใจที่วันเกิดพระเอกทำเย็นชาใส่? วันเกิด? เอาจริงหรอวะคือโคตรจะไร้สาระ แล้วไม่พอพระเอกกลัวถ้ากลับไปไม่ทันวันเกิดตัวเองนางเอกจะน้อยใจ? (แต่โอเคยอมรับว่าฉากนั้นเขียนลุ้นจริง) ทำไมมันดูไม่เหมือนความคิดของคนที่วางหมากชีวิตคนอย่างรอบคอบในสนามรบเลยอ่ะ แล้วช่วงแปดเดือนที่อยู่กับนางเอกก็มาทำท่าเย็นชาไร้สาระอ่ะ แนวแบบมีอะไรก็ไม่พูดกับนางเอกแต่ใช้ม่อหรานเป็นพรายกระซิบเอา คือไรอ่ะเราเป็นม่อหรานนี่ขอลาออกอ่ะคือเจ้านายเวิ่นมาก ไม่พอเมียเจ้านายก็เวิ่นตัวแม่มาก อยากกลอกตารัวๆ

เออใช่เลย พูดสั้นๆง่ายๆเลยคือ นางเอกแม่งเวิ่นเว้อตัวแม่ อ่านแล้วไม่อินกับความเก่งกล้าสามารถ ควายสวยไม่สวยอะไรที่ทุกคนในเรื่องพยายามจะอวยทั้งนั้น คิดได้อย่างเกียว นางเอกโคตรเวิ่น เวิ่นหาพระเอกจนเสียความเป็นตัวเองไปหมดเลย อ่านแล้วไม่โอเค ไม่ชอบคนแบบนี้

สุดท้ายเราตัดสินใจหยุดอ่านต่อค่ะ ก็เข้าใจนะว่าถ้าพ้นโซนนี้ของเล่มสองไปได้เรื่องจะเข้มข้นขึ้นมาก แต่เราหมดอารมณ์อ่านแล้ว ถ้าตัดความน่ารำคาญของนางเอกออกไปได้ เราให้เพิ่มเป็น 4.5ดาว เพราะส่วนอื่นถือว่าทำมาได้ดีมากแล้ว ขาดอย่างเดียวคือคาแรคเตอร์ของนางเอกที่ดึงดูดให้อ่านต่อจนจบเรื่อง รำคาญ และผิดหวัง ไม่นึกว่าจะออกมาเป็นแบบนี้

Started watching the drama General and I which is based on the novel Gu Fang Bu Zi Shang/A Lonesome Fragrance Waiting to be Appreciated by Feng Nong



The drama is awesome so far and promises to be so in the future as well! :D
When I found out it's based on a novel and even has manhua made from the novel...of course I had to read it!

And while there are now plenty of Chinese novels I wish to read, sadly, it's difficult to find them in English, but seems like this one was popular enough so people had it translated - yay! :)

Also, apparently the later re-leases made the novel into 3 volumes (I think, but might be mistaken, it was 7 volumes before with 75 chapters in total) and while vol1 & vol2 do seem to be on goodreads, no 3rd volume...or maybe it's in Chinese and so I don't recognize it >.<
...hmmm...will have to thoroughly investigate this when I'll have read the first 2 volumes so that I can add 3rd one as well ^^

Off to reading now ~

Totally worth 5 stars, no wonder the novel was so popular - it deserves it! :D

Gu Fang Bu Zi Shang or A Lonesome Fragrance Waiting to be Appreciated is a tale about love & loyalty. And in it's own way love is a form of loyalty. So much difficult decisions. I'm having a difficult time to express myself, so maybe that in itself is an indication of how great the story is.

While the novel at times...well...most of the time doesn't go into painfully small & exact detailing of the events or location, everyday things etc, and I mean super small useless detail like she went there, he did that, she blablablablabla it works out just fine! There's really no need to uselessly write all that. Feng Nong managed to write only what was necessary to the plot /story and it doesn't feel plain or like it's missing something at all.

Ok. Plot.
Two people from enemy countries accidentally meet and fall in love. Doesn't sound that bad. Could work out. But one is a general/prince and the other a military adviser/tactician. Starts to sound not that good. Especially when they have to go at war with each other. Not good at all, I'd say even hopeless.

As I said - this story is about love & loyalty. Loyalty towards your country. Loyalty towards your loved one. Damn, but I really am having a real difficult time to describe it all!

Maybe I should move on to characters...

Bai Ping Ting. A young girl. Also brilliant military strategist. Eh, all those country names are damn difficult to remember once I'm not reading, so let's say she's from country #1 XD)


Chu Bei Jie. The best general at the time among all countries. The younger brother of the king. From country #2 XD


Not even for a moment did these two annoy me. O.o Shocking, I know. Awesome! :D

Really, I gotta say there was only 1 character - He Xia, prince from country #1- that was annoying in the story and well...that's just his character. You gotta dislike the antagonist/evil guy. Or at least I think he will turn out to be as the story progresses. Good thing there wasn't a lot of him, but even so he did manage to leave his impact...


And while one might think love, loyalty, blablablabla probably a sappy romance simply set in ancient times to make it look better, nope, it's totally not!
I loved all the battle scenes! The military strategies! The palace/royalty and it's backstabbings, plottings, schemes & power plays! I adore this stuff! And Feng Nong delivers it all!

The struggle Ping Ting and Bei Jie have to go through because of their love towards each other and loyalty to their country! And this was only the first book of the story! Can't wait to read the next one! I bet those will have all that stuff even more! :D


If one can get your hands on it, it's definitely worth reading :)

นี่เป็นหนึ่งในนิยายรักจีนในตำนานอีกหนึ่งเรื่อง ที่เราได้ยินเสียงร่ำลือถึงความงดงามของภาษาและความฉลาดของคู่พระนาง จนต้องซื้อมาเก็บลงกองดอง และเพิ่งจะมีโอกาสได้อ่านงานชุดนี้ ณ เวลาที่มีการตีพิมพ์ใหม่และเปลี่ยนแปลงตัวผู้แปลไปแล้ว ดังนั้นการพูดถึงสำนวนการแปลในที่นี้ เราจึงหมายถึงเฉพาะฉบับที่เรามีอยู่นี้เท่านั้นนะคะ

เรื่องราวความรักของคู่พระนางคู่นี้ ไม่ได้แค่ถูกกดดันจากการต้องเลือกระหว่างความรักของตัวเองกับความรักต่อบ้านเกิดเมืองนอนเท่านั้น แต่ยังเพิ่มเรื่องราวความผูกพันอันลึกซึ้งฉันท์พี่น้องขึ้นมาเป็นอีกหนึ่งปัจจัยของการตัดสินใจอีกด้วย ตัวละครคู่พระนางนั้นฉลาดแบบน่าทึ่งจริงๆ แต่ในขณะเดียวกันทั้งคู่พระนางก็เลือกที่จะทำอะไร(ที่เจ้าตัวเองก็บอกว่า)โง่ๆลงไปในเรื่องของความรัก อย่างที่ผู้เขียนเองก็คงอยากจะบอกว่า ต่อให้ฉลาดแค่ไหน พอมาถึงเรื่องความรักแล้ว ก็อาจจะทำอะไรโง่ๆลงไปได้เช่นกัน

เราชอบความสัมพันธ์ของตัวละครเรื่องนี้มาก โดยเฉพาะระหว่างเจ้านายของนางเอก ตัวนางเอก และตัวพระเอก ซึ่งเป็นอะไรที่ดูลึกซึ้งและซับซ้อนดี และผู้เขียนก็ให้ความสำคัญกับตัวละครหลักทั้งสามได้แบบค่อนข้างสมดุลมาก โดยเฉพาะในส่วนที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการตัดสินใจสำคัญๆของตัวละคร นอกจากนั้น บทบาทของตัวละครประกอบก็โดดเด่นและชัดเจน (เราชอบพิเศษคือเพื่อนรักนางเอกที่เป็นอีกหนึ่งพิณในตำนาน เราว่าแม้ตัวละครตัวนี้จะไม่ฉลาดเท่านางเอก แต่นางเป็นตัวละครที่มีวุฒิภาวะทางอารมณ์และการตัดสินใจที่ดีสุดในเรื่องแล้วล่ะ) จุดมุ่งหมายของการเล่าเรื่องเด่นชัด ทำให้วิธีการเล่าเรื่องดูน่าสนใจและอ่านได้เพลินมากๆค่ะ ยังแถมสำนวนการแปลที่สละสลวยมาก โดยเฉพาะในส่วนของการตัดคำจากบทกวี (แม้การใช้วรรณยุกต์ต่างๆ ผู้แปลก็เป๊ะมาก คือหาที่ผิดไม่เจอเลยจริงๆ) เชิงอรรถท้ายหน้าก็ช่วยทำให้เราเข้าใจวัฒนธรรมและภาษาที่แตกต่างได้ชัดเจนขึ้นด้วยค่ะ

สรุปคือเสียงร่ำลือของเรื่องนี้ ไม่ได้เกินความจริงไปเลย เป็นอีกหนึ่งเรื่องที่ไม่ควรพลาดค่ะ

I recommend reading the novel first (thank you Chinatown KM translations!!) - the light novel gives more context and insight, such as Bai Pingting's background, the dispute in Gui Le that launched the story, plus the details like conversation which shows off Pingting's cleverness, or the actions she carries out and basically her charm as a strong and admirable heroine. The manwha adaptation differs slightly, and a lot of shortcuts were taken to get to the important matters - the dynamic relationship between Pinting and Chu Beijie. I love the story for what it is, and reading the light novel beforehand provides a better understanding of the manwha, but it's really good because of its differentiations. Our cunning heroine is very cute, even though she is described as having a plain face; her eyes are very expressful which a very important fact. I really enjoyed the efforts put into the courting arc by the mangaka (not sure how else to call the time Pingting and Chu Beijie got to fall hard before everything goes downhill). It's very passionate and even better than the original text. Plus, I think the mangaka helped us understand He Xia a little better - he gets more screen time and I actually feel a little sympathetic for him. In the light novel, it really felt like Pingting idealized him a bit too much, and when he did make an appearance he's not as good as we thought. Also, I'm so happy Moran is good-looking (I really liked his character in the text for some reason) XD

เรื่องนี้ได้ยินเสียงเล่าลือมานานถึงสำนวนแปลและเนื้อเรื่องอันดีงามของฉบับพิมพ์ครั้งแรก ทราบมาว่าเป็นหนังสือหายากถึงขนาดต้องประมูลกันเลยทีเดียว แต่ครั้งนี้เราอ่านฉบับแปลใหม่นะคะ

พูดถึงสำนวนแปล เราไม่สามารถเปรียบเทียบได้ เพราะไม่เคยอ่านฉบับดั้งเดิม แต่ฉบับแปลใหม่นี้ นับว่าแปลได้อ่านง่ายดีค่ะ เราไม่ได้คาดหวังกับสำนวนที่สละสลวยแบบโบราณ จึงไม่สะดุดใจอะไร อ่านได้ไหลลื่นอยู่

พล็อตที่ต้องเลือกระหว่างความรักและความภักดีแบบในเรื่องนี้ จัดว่าเป็นอมตะอยู่แล้ว อ่านเมื่อไรสะเทือนใจเมื่อนั้น แต่เรื่องนี้กลับเดินเรื่องต่างออกไปค่ะ ไม่ค่อยฟีลถึงความดราม่าบีบคั้น โดยเฉพาะในช่วงแรกที่เป็นการชิงไหวชิงพริบในสนามรบกันระหว่างพระนาง มีทั้งน่ารักและน่าลุ้น ส่วนช่วงท้ายเริ่มมีความแค้นทับถมเข้ามา เรื่องก็จะเข้มข้นขึ้น แม้เราจะคิดว่าคาแรกเตอร์นางเอกมีความลักลั่นไปบ้าง แต่ก็ไม่ถึงขั้นเป็นไปไม่ได้เอาเสียเลย ส่วนพระเอกนั้น เป็นพระเอกแนวเราพอดี ทำให้อ่านแล้วมั่นใจในความรักของพระเอก เมื่อประกอบกับการเดินเรื่องที่รวดเร็วทันใจ จังหวะพอเหมาะ เราจึงไม่ลังเลเลยที่จะหยิบเล่มสองมาอ่านต่อค่ะ :)

ก็ยังจับใจ ผ่านประสบการณ์อ่านนิยายจีนมาก็เยอะ
แต่พอกลับมาอ่านเรื่องนี่ มันมีความเป็นตัวของตัวเอง
มันมีความ ‘นิยาย’ ที่มี รัก โลภ โกรธ หลง

ชอบที่นางเอกไม่ใช่สายบู๊ เป็นสายบุ๋น ที่ไม่ได้เก่งไปทุกอย่าง

ความบีบคั้นทางอารมณ์ที่นักเขียนถ่ายทอดออกมามันดี
การเปรียบเปรยความรู้สึกของตัวละครและการดำเนินเรื่อง

นี่อ่านมานิยายจีนหลังๆ นางเอกคือแมรี่ ซู 100%

เหมือนๆกันไปหมดจนน่ารำคาญ นึกถีงเรื่องรนี่ก็กลับมาอ่าน
ตอนแรกก็คิดว่า อ่านตอนเด็กๆ อาจจะชอบ หลังอ่านเรื่องอื่นเยอะแล้ว อาจจะเฉยๆ

ที่ไหนได้ ชอบมากกว่าเดิม

แต่ถ้าคนที่ไม่ชอบสำบัดสำนวน อาจจะรำคาญ

สำหรับเรา มันดีมาก

I came to know the novel by reading the manhua first. The manhua was incomplete so I searched for the novel. The novel is easier to understand and more detailed so I suggest reading the novel.

I couldn't sleep at all! The suspense was killing me haha. This is my first time reading a chinese made novel so some things were confusing but its still a really great story.

The characters are great... They're far from perfect but they are amusing. Bai Pingting is fiesty and cunning (How I like my girls!). But, she also cries when she is deeply hurt. There were times when she seemed like a cry baby but I guess I would cry too haha. Bai Pingting ended up falling in love with the enemy general, Chu Beijie. All I can say is wow. Chu Beijie is... demanding? Arrogant? Selfish? Cold?... but can also be gentle :) I like a man who's like a great mountain but weak to the woman he loves.

The story is really great but the ending! What a cliffhanger! Can anyone tell me where I can read an english version of book two? please :(

Mais uma vez um livro com uma drama no qual é baseado (para acessar de forma legal, vá no dramafever). Só comecei a assistir e parei. Achei ruim e a caracterização dos personagens é pior ainda. Também tem um mangá que pode ser encontrado pelo título em mandarim, mas acho que a produção ou a tradução está parada.

Essa na verdade foi o primeiro livro chinês que li na íntegra (o primeiro e que ainda estou lendo é Princesa Wey Yang). E foi uma surpresa no começo… e uma decepção no final. Por quê? É simples: não entrega a premissa da sinopse. No começo temos a história como esperado, mas depois disso, a história se torna outra coisa. Fica… estranho… não sei como descrever.

A protagonista é uma espécie de serva de luxo, que tudo o que faz na vida é tocar um instrumento musical, zither, e conversar sobre estratégias militares com o filho da família de um general poderoso. Ela é completamente devota a ele e há conversas sobre ela se tornar sua concubina no futuro. Só que viviam em guerra e ela acabou sendo capturada por traficantes de escravos. Depois de uma série de acontecimentos, ela acaba se passando pela filha de seus novos donos para o general que comanda o exército inimigo. Ele acaba se apaixonando pela protagonista e querendo se casar com ela.

(Detalhe: durante a história inteira, ele fala que é o marido dela, mas eles nunca chegaram a ter uma cerimônia de casamento. Ele disse e pronto).

Então o que ela faz? Foge.

จีบกันด้วยแผนการรบ สนุกดีนะ ถึงจะไม่ค่อยชอบการแปลในบางจุด มีการทับศัพท์เยอะไปนิด แล้วหมายเหตุยาวมาก คือเข้าใจว่าอยากให้คนอ่านเข้าใจลึกซึ้งแต่บางทีคำที่มันแปลไทยได้ก็แปลไปเลยก็ได้มั้ง บ่นๆ

ช่วงนี้เป็นช่วงเก็บอ่านนิยายที่อ่านดองมาหลายปี อ่านค้างไว้ไม่ยอมหยิบมาอ่านต่อจนจบสักที ให้หมดๆ ไปอยู่ แบบว่าดองนานกว่านี้ก็เกรงใจตัวเองที่ทำไมต้องดอง ฮ่าๆๆๆ เหมือนจะฝืนตัวเองเหมือนกันนะ แต่ก็เป็นคนที่รู้สึกว่า ต่อให้อ่านได้หรือไม่ได้ ก็ควรจะอ่านให้จบ แล้วจะได้ปิดจ๊อบไปเลย บางเรื่องอ่านค้างไว้ในตอนนั้นอาจจะเพราะเหตุผลบางอย่าง ที่พอเราหยิบมาอ่านในตอนนี้ เราก็รู้สึกว่าเออ มันก็สนุกดีนะ

สำหรับเรื่องนี้เราเริ่มอ่าน 8 ก.พ. 2556 อ่านถึงหน้า 110 แล้วก็ดองมาจนได้เริ่มอ่านใหม่อีกครั้ง หลังจากที่มีละคร ละครฉายไปแล้ว แล้วก็จบไปแล้วมานานพอควร เราถึงจะได้หยิบมาอ่านต่อสักที นี่ก็ดองจนเขาพิมพ์ฉบับใหม่เป็นผู้แปลอีกคนไปแล้ว เราก็เพิ่งจะมาอ่านต่อแหละนะ

พบว่าพออ่านรอบนี้ ความรู้สึกช่างแตกต่างจากตอนอ่านครั้งแรกจริงๆ ตอนนั้นเรารู้สึกเฉยๆ ไม่ได้รู้สึกว่าเออ มันสนุกมากจนพลาดไม่ได้อย่างที่คนอื่นเขาว่ากันมา เพราะตอนนั้นเรายังอ่านไม่ถึงช่วงสำคัญของเรื่องแหละมั้ง พอมารอบนี้เฮ้ยยยย กลับหยุดตัวเองแทบไม่ได้ อ่านแปบๆ จบเล่ม 1 ไปอย่างงงๆ กับตัวเอง แต่ดองรีวิวไว้นานก��่านั้น เพราะว่าช่วงนี้ยุ่งๆ แหละนะ ฮ่าๆ พยายามห้ามใจตัวเองไม่ให้วอกแวกกับสิ่งที่ตั้งใจทำอยู่ เลยต้องห้ามตัวเองในการอ่านนิยายสักหน่อย

จริงๆ ตอนเราอ่านเล่มแรกจบในรอบที่ 2 นี้ได้อ่ะ เราแอบอู้ในสิ่งที่เราตั้งใจทำอยู่มาอ่านด้วย แบบห้ามใจตัวเองได้ลำบากเหลือเกิน และจริงๆ เราอ่านเล่มสองไปได้ครึ่งเล่มล่ะ แต่ๆๆๆ ก็เบรกตัวเองไว้ได้แล้ว เย่ๆๆๆ ตอนนี้พยายามจะจัดการกับสิ่งที่ตัวเองตั้งใจจะทำให้สำเร็จก่อน แล้วจะกลับมาอ่านต่อนะ คิดว่าไม่น่าจะลืมว่าอ่านแล้วเจออะไรบ้าง เพราะตัวเองก็เป็นคนที่ความจำดีพอควร (มั้ง) ฮ่าๆๆ แต่ก็ไม่แน่ เดี๋ยวอาจจะใช้เวลาแวบๆ อ่านเล่ม 2 ให้จบ จะได้ไม่ค้างไว้กลางทาง ฮ่าๆๆๆ

ถามว่าอ่านแล้วชอบพระนางไหม เราก็ขอบอกว่า “ไม่” อ่ะ แบบว่าเฉยๆ บางทีติดจะรำคาญทั้งพระนางเลยด้วย ฮ่าๆๆ อ่านๆ ไปก็จะแบบว่าเออ ชะตากรรมดูน่าสงสารเหมือนกันนะ อะไรๆ ก็ทำให้ชวนเข้าใจผิดตลอด สนุกสุดน่าจะช่วงที่นางเอกวางแผนการรบ แล้วพระเอกก็รู้เท่าทันนี่แหละ คือดูเหมือนทันกันดี แต่แอบรำคาญช่วงดราม่าแหละนะ (นี่เอ่ยโยงไปถึงครึ่งเล่มแรกของเล่มสองที่เราอ่านไปก็รำคาญความเยอะระหว่างพระนาง ฮาาา)

นี่แวบมารีวิว ก็เพราะว่าอ่านจบมาเกือบเดือนแล้ว ถ้าหากไม่รีบเขียน น่าจะลืมรายละเอียดไปมากกว่านี้จริงๆ ล่ะ นี่แค่ชื่อเมืองทั้งหลายเราก็ลืมแล้วจ้าาา จนเวลาเล่าเรื่องต้องบอกว่าเมืองนั้น เมืองนี้ เมืองโน้น ฮ่าๆๆๆ

ก็ยังไม่ได้รู้สึกว่าสนุกพีคๆ แบบที่คนอื่นกรี๊ดกร๊าดกันขนาดนั้นอ่ะ อาจจะเพราะนิสัยตัวละครที่เรารู้สึกเฉยๆ มั้ง เลยอินไม่สุดสักเท่าไรต่อชะตากรรมที่พวกเขาจะต้องพบเจอนั่นเอง น่าจะใช่แหละมั้ง

ป๋ายพิงถิงจริงๆ เป็นกุนซือที่เคียงข้างนายน้อยมาตลอด แต่แล้ววันหนึ่งนายน้อยถูกหาว่าเป็นกบฏกับฮ่องเต้ จากที่เป็นน้องฮ่องเต้ก็โดนตามจับ เลยหนีไป สุดท้ายก็พลัดหลงกัน นางถูกขายเป็นสาวใช้ของตระกูลหนึ่ง ซึ่งเด็กสาวตระกูลนี้จริงๆ มีชายคนรักแล้ว แต่จะถูกจับแต่งงานกับอีกคน

พิงถิงเล่นพิณจนทำให้ฉูเป่ยเจี๋ย น้องชายของฮ่องเต้อีกเมืองชอบเข้า ตอนแรกที่ปิ๊งเนี่ย ก็ไม่รู้ว่าใครเป็นใครอ่ะนะ พิงถิงก็ออกมาในฐานะคุณหนู เพราะคุณหนูตัวจริงก็แอบดูอยู่แทน แต่พอพิงถิงรู้ว่าอีกฝ่ายเป็นใคร จริงๆ ก็พยายามห้ามใจนะ หรือเปล่าหว่า เราก็ลืมแล้ว ฮ่าๆๆ แต่ช่วงที่ฉูเป่ยเจี๋ยตามจีบเนี่ย เขาถึงขั้นเฝ้าหน้าห้องคุณหนูเลยนะ แล้วก็ไม่รู้ว่าสาวใช้ที่คุยด้วย คือผู้หญิงที่ตัวเองชอบ

ต่อมาเหมือนพิงถิงจะหนีไปมั้ง เราก็จำไม่ได้ล่ะ แล้วคุณหนูก็บอกความจริงทั้งหมด จนฉูเป่ยเจี๋ยจะประหารทั้งตระกูล ก็ทำให้พิงถิงโผล่มาช่วยตระกูลนี้ก่อน แล้วก็ยอมอยู่กับเขา รักแล้วก็มีอะไรกัน

แล้วพอเจอกับนายน้อย สุดท้ายก็ต่อรองจ้าาา ต่อรองให้ฉูเป่ยเจี๋ยยอมที่จะไม่รุกรานเมืองของนางเป็นเวลา 5 ปี ทำให้ฉูเป่ยเจี๋ยโกรธมากที่นางสามารถทำร้ายเขาได้ขนาดนี้ แล้วนางก็จากไปกับนายน้อย แต่พออยู่ไปสักพัก ก็รู้ว่านายน้อยไม่ไว้ใจนางล่ะ

นางก็เลยออกไปอยู่กับเพื่อนสนิทที่เคยดีดพิณในวังด้วยกันมาก่อน (อีกสาวที่ขึ้นชื่อ) เพื่อนสนิทคนนี้ไปอยู่อีกเมือง ที่เมืองของฉูเป่ยเจี๋ยกำลังจะบุกไปรบด้วยนั่นเอง แล้วเพื่อนสนิทของพิงถิงก็แต่งงานและกำลังท้องกับแม่ทัพคนสำคัญของเมืองนั้น

พิงถิงช่วยเพื่อนด้วยการบอกว่าเดี๋ยวจะเป็นกุนซือให้เอง (เพื่อนขอร้องว่าเห็นแก่ลูกในท้องที่ขาดพ่อไม่ได้) พิงถิงเลยเข้าเฝ้าฮ่องเต้แล้วก็เสนอข้อเสนอ ซึ่งฮ่องเต้ก็ตกลง แล้วพิงถิงก็กลายเป็นจอมทัพวางแผนการรบที่รู้เท่าทันฉูเป่ยเจี๋ย ส่วนฉูเป่ยเจี๋ยเองก็ตั้งใจที่จะรับเมียรักกลับบ้าน

แต่แล้วแผนการทั้งหมดก็พัง เมื่อฮ่องเต้เมืองนั้นใช้วิธีพิงถิง แต่กลับไปวางยากับองค์ชายรัชทายาท ทำให้หลานชายของฉูเป่ยเจี๋ยตายไปหมดทั้งสองพระองค์ ทำให้ทุกคนเข้าใจว่าพิงถิงเป็นคนฆ่า ส่วนพิงถิงวางแผนให้วางยากับฮ่องเต้ จะไม่เป็นอะไร แล้วจะกลับมาปกติ ยานี้มีผลร้ายแรงถึงตายกับเด็กเท่านั้น คนที่รู้เรื่องยานี้ก็คือนายน้อย นายน้อยร่วมมือกับฮ่องเต้เมืองนี้ แล้วก็ไปแต่งงานกับองค์หญิงอีกเมือง

เมื่อฉูเป่ยเจี๋ยบุกมาหา ในตอนนั้นนางได้สั่งให้ตัดเชือกสะพานข้ามเหวไว้ ซึ่งกลายเป็นว่าเขาข้ามมา แล้วก็พานางข้ามกลับไป กว่าจะรู้ตัวก็คือตกเหวลงไปแล้วจ้าาาา

แต่ก็รอดมาได้ ต่างฝ่ายต่างหากันเจอ ก็แยกย้ายกันกลับไป นัดหมายกันดิบดีแล้วด้วยว่าจะมาเจอกัน แล้วพอพิงถิงกลับไป ถึงเพิ่งรู้ว่าแผนการตัวเองกลับฆ่าองค์ชายตายไป ทำให้นางเสียใจมาก แล้วก็ไม่รู้ว่าจะแก้ตัวกับความผิดของตัวเองยังไง นางก็กลับไปหาเขาตามสัญญาแหละ แต่ตอนนี้เขาเกลียดนางมาก

เขาก็กักขังนางไว้อีกเรือนหนึ่ง ส่วนเขาก็อยู่อีกเรือน วันๆ ก็มาหานะ แต่ไม่พูดไม่จา แล้วก็มีอะไรด้วยทุกคืน แต่แล้วก็ยังเย็นชาใส่กันตลอด นางเองก็บอกนะว่าเขาจะทำอะไรก็สุดแท้แต่เขา นางไม่มีอะไรจะแก้ตัวทั้งนั้น

Love this book!!

I will have give this book at 100 out of 5, but sadly I can't, so a 5 out of 5 it goes.

this book was so good... This book was full of drama, action , war, tragedy and a beautiful (well play) forbidden romance.

Another point that I loved about this book was that it took place in the old Asian culture. That I really love a lot and it made it so enjoyable to read. The way it was dicribe, the poems and music everything was so well describe, it made you feel like you were in that era.

However, that was not the only reason why I love this book so much. I love this book so much because of the characters. this characters really bring the book to life. The heroine Pingting was really amazing for a woman in that era to be so intelligent and be a general she could be the second Mulan. with out having to fight she was a really a strong character, yet some times in the story will make you mad but in a good way, also those mistakes will let you now this character wasn't perfect. Another Character that I love was Beijin ( got his name wrong sorry (⌒_⌒;) ) He was a strong character!!, he was so smart, smarter than Pingting, AND THE ROMANCE BETWEEN THESE TWO CHARACTERS WAS AMAZING!!. This character really made the book, his cold personality and the thougth of only one person in the world could control him made it so fascinating, like there's no word's in describing how amazing this character was and is in the book. There were many others amazing characters, but if I keep mentioning them I will never finish.

The plot was really good. I really hope this book is traduce in English and made a fisical copy for everyone to enjoy. I really recommend this book for every one that loves war books, Asian history, drama and tragedy romance. Yet I also will recommend it to everyone because this book was epic and such and enjoyable read!!!

This review is for the web novel, not the manga, although I have read (and loved!) both. The story is just beautiful. I wish it was officially available in English, but being a web novel doesn't lend itself to that. It's originally in Chinese I believe, with the setting of the book being pretty much ancient Chinese as well. My knowledge of Chinese history is lacking so I can't speak strongly to how loosely it sticks to ancient Chinese culture.

From here I may have minor spoilers involving the main character's personality etc.

The main character is quite likable and interesting - a female powerhouse in a male-centric ancient world, who is brilliant and talented but not beautiful. That's pretty common in this genre, but I do find it interesting that she's not out to fight the system, but to support and interact with those she's loyal to. With that said, she's incredibly brave and can be authoritative when she chooses to be. The love interest is also likable and interesting. Really both of the main characters are "too perfect" and "too amazing" to be believable, but I feel like that's part of the whimsical nature of the book. I like it.

I do think the book is best in the first half or so and then slows down. I don't remember exactly how far percentage-wise that happened into the book, but I did slow down a lot and it took me a while to finish. It's still great though and I completely suggest reading it.

There are a couple mangas/manwhuas based on it. They have a few differing names, but are titled by the same name as the book or as "The General and I." The book is much more detailed and finishes the story, which feels like it's really left hanging in the manga.

So.. I can't find the actual novel, so I'm just gonna rate it for the manga.
This book remind me why I love Chinese historical drama so much as a kid. As I grew older, these dramas became less interesting to me because they are like 60 episodes long.. WHO THE HECK HAVE THAT KIND OF PATIENT! Okay.. a lot of people do.... Anyway, the main character is smart and is pretty, but not because she is pretty. She is pretty because of how smart she is.. HOW AWESOME IS THAT! (okay the manga makes her extremely pretty... and so did the drama.. *eyes rolled*). I just love it when they have their wit to wit battle... it's just so heart wrenching but also so romantic because they know each other so well... I would recommend reading the novel over the manga because the manga ended after 2 vol. (WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO ME!) and it left out a lot of things... Also recommend the novel over the drama too.. The drama is not bad, but it is just not the novel. This is my first Chinese light novel and was not disappointed. Hopefully I will be able to find something similar if not better in the future... (oh yah.. this story is not perfect.. not by a long shot, but it is just so... AHHHHHHH!)

This is the first chinese translated novel I read. It was already special since it has an imprint from chinese history and culture despite being a fictional story and makee you discover another world. I also like that despite being a love story, it doesnt only turn around the main characters but has a good plot,very well written and unpredictable that make you unable to stop reading. This fictional story also reflect a deep thinking about problems of always such as wars and nations conflicts and rulers greed to dominate and conquer resulting in causing their own people unhappiness and suffering. It's also a very artistic story, the description is so well written that it makes you feel with all your senses, hear the sound of guqin, smell the incense and flowers and fragrances, travel to that fictional word and imagine every bit of it. I recommand this novel a lot.

This book was my gate of entry into the realm of cnovels.

When I learned that the manhua series was discontinued, I was disappointed. Gladly, there was a novel version to this story.

What I really loved about this series is the protagonist, Bai Pingting. I love that she is described as an average-looking woman with her strongest asset being her brain. This was also the reason the ML, Chu Beijie, fell in love with her. Their love story complicates with them being enemies. In addition to the characters, the first volume has got to be my favorite because it showcased how intelligent our characters are.

While the drama made some alterations, this is the only volume of the novel that they were closely able to adapt.

I hesitated to read this at first because I do not like the translated style of this translator, but it got such a good review, so I decided to read it.

I found this to be a disappointment. Maybe because I had high expectation. The story progresses too fast. I think the writer should give more detail about how the protagonist spent time together because maybe it is convincing. They spent months together and I do not feel anything special between these two. Also, I expect that Pingting would be smarter than this. The writer described her as a genius girl, but she should behave and do things wiser than this if she was truly a genius.

เป็นนิยายที่ พอดี ทั้งรักทั้งรบของเฟิงน่งเท่าที่อ่านมา ผ่านมาหลายปีแล้วก็ยังเป็นนิยายที่หยิบมาอ่านซ้ำเรื่อยๆ เหมือนกลับไปยุคที่เฟิงน่งเขียนเรื่อง ฮ่าย เป็นช่วงท็อปฟอร์มจริงๆ

Overall, great plot but poor execution. When you want to write a flashback scene, you shouldn't literally copy paste previous parts of the book, it gets really confusing. Also barely any description of the characters other than the fact that the FMC is "plain". And then there's the intalove in chapter 5 after meeting the male MC once is just urggg nooo. Nevertheless, first two volumes were actually pretty good. Started losing interest at the third one when the author decided to make the male MC just disappear for a long ass time.

Truly a wonderful book and a great read! It is a historical story about love and loyalty in times of war. I stumbled upon the drama on youtube and immediately fell in love with it so I searched and found an English translation of the book. Although there are differences between the two I highly recommend both the book and the drama series.

Elsket denne! Utrolig bra bok. Fant en oversatt versjon på nettet.
Veldig spennende med imponerende, dype og til tider plagsomme karakterer.
Ble nesten litt sliten av å lese xD
misforståelse etter misforståelse... satt å rev meg i håret noen ganger xD
Det var så jeg lurte på om dette bare kom til å ende i tragedie...noe det på en måte gjorde litt,
men alt i alt var det en lykkelig slutt

จะมารีวิวสั้นๆกับเรื่องนี้
เนื้อหาแน่นมาก ส่วนใหญ่เอามาจากกลศึกสามก๊ก
ผิงถิงเป็นสาวใช้ เปิดเรื่องมาก็โดนจับตัวละ แล้วก็รักกันแบบ...งงๆ เหมือนพี่แกไม่เคยแค้นกันมาก่อน (โอเค หน้าที่เฉยๆเนาะ)
ผลงานของอาเจ๊เฟิงน่งจ้า หากจะอ่านเรื่องนี้โปรดทำหัวให้ว่าง ทำหัวให้โล่ง โปร่ง เบาสบาย~ แล้วมันจะผ่านไปได้
โดยส่วนตัวคนอ่านไม่มีปัญหาคะ แต่อ่านแล้วรู้สึกได้ว่าเนื้อหานิยายมันหนักจริงๆ
