After the Zombie Wars, John Talon and Charlie James sealed off the mountain passes, keeping hordes of zombies from ever reaching the safe zones. No one would ever have a good reason for crossing the Gates. Years later, Jake and Aaron Talon are following a mystery, a murder which will take them through the Gates and into the lands of the dead.
I have read every book in this amazing series, including the White Flag Of The Dead & also the Generation Dead. While this is the first review I have posted in regards to this series ( and I consider them all one) is not because the others were undeserving. I only recently began writing reviews at all. This story however definitely deserves one. To anyone who loves a good zombie story or even a well written action adventure story, you would serve yourself well by buying the entire series. The characters are well written, with fully realized personalities. The stories are fast paced with plenty of action and angst. You will find yourself rooting for the characters and holding your breath when they get into trouble (which happens quite often). The descriptions of the story backgrounds are fully realized and amazing. Please do not miss out on a wonderful set of stories. To Joseph Talluto, I say job AMAZINGLY done!!!! Please keep them coming, the stories can't be over yet. And no so long between books this time!!!! PLEASE!!!!!
And once again, another terrific story with wonderful characters. Love how this author seamlessly went into another generation of heroes. Hope there will be many more to come... Soon.
I don't know, flat? I want to start out by saying that if you have discovered the beginning of the White Flag of the Dead series, the drop everything and read it. It's Joseph Taluto at his level best.
This book came out like a travel log of the zombie western States. There didn't seem like there was enough for the characters to do. Don't get me wrong here. The elements that make a Taluto book great are all there, just not enough of them.
All in all I still recommend this book, but after you've read the others.
It was a good ending to the series. The brothers continued on with their fathers goal. Two brothers who couldn't be more different, yet were able to work together in the common goal to make the country safe once again. Satisfying ending.
