Ali Mitchell is a reclusive author who’s had his fair share of success and betrayal. Worse, the betrayal has come from women he’s given his heart to. After his ex-girlfriend stole his manuscript and made it available to millions of people for free, Ali vowed to never date a journalist again.
Avery Felix was in love with Ali before she knew what love was. When they graduated high school, she kept up with his literary career, becoming his number one fan. Over a decade later, she finally has the chance to reconnect with him when her editor asks her to interview him. There’s just one Ali hasn’t done an interview or attended an event in over three years.
When Ali and Avery reconnect, her persistence makes it difficult for him to keep her away like he does the rest of the world. Regardless of how close they get, there’s a part of him that’s triggered by past trauma from women he once loved. Will Avery be able to prove she’s worthy of his trust so they can get their own happily ever after, or will her career lead to a black moment in their romance that causes Ali to never trust a woman again?

This was a quick cute insta love that had been delayed. I know those are opposites lol, but both are true. Ali and Avery went to high school together and although they both seemed to be crushing on each other nothing ever materialized. Fast forward to years later, Ali is now a famous Author and Avery is a journalist. Avery is assigned the task to get the reclusive author to do an interview. However, when they reconnect more than a story blooms. As much as Ali's past trauma tells him to protect himself from yet another journalist, he can't shake wanting to be with her. Avery has always had a special place in her heart for Ali. Now realizing that those feelings are mutual, she is willing to put their personal relationship before her professional one. I love how Ali was willing to go out of his comfort zone to show how important their love was to him.
I would have ate up a full story from these two. I would have loved to experience Avery finding out the nickname he gave her in high school, an I told you so moment from his friend, and their families and friends connecting. Overall, a solid read that left me wanting more.
Ali had been betrayed by two woman in his past so he wasn't giving Avery a chance when she came asking for a interview. Ali and Avery went to high school together. Both of them had crushes on the other, but they never approached one another about it. This time around, they didn't let their chemistry pass them by. I loved how Avery brought Ali out of his self-imposed shell, and he let love enter his life again. I was glad he realized he still needed to work on himself when he wrongly went off on Avery. This book had a great storyline and great characters. It was a short read, but I can't recommend it enough.
I like the fact that Ali and Avery were actually crushing on each other in height school but never took it there so it was like this was their second chance at love somewhat. I’m glad that his parents were like a sounding board to Ali both advising Ali to let go of the past and to not judge Avery for the women in his past mistakes and betrayals. Ali came back in a major way to show her that he was sorry and invested in their relationship and love.
A cute, quick read that’s great for those moments when you just want something light to escape into. Ali and Avery both secretly crushed on each other in high school, and years later they finally get the chance to explore what might have been.
Their connection is sweet and easy. She helps pull him out of his closed off way of living, and he shows her that life isn’t as heavy as she thinks. Together, they bring balance to each other in a way that feels warm and satisfying.

Ali is a sexy author. I love the minimum diamonds mentioned on him, but they sparkle and shine so largely. He gave up on love years ago, but his true love came to his doorsteps. This was a perfect story. Had me nervous for a minute. I enjoyed getting a pop up from Love in here also! Great read!!!
This author right here knows she has a way with words that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat! This book was so good that it had me shaking my phone like where’s the rest?! It shows that she is so talented that she held you captivated with a book less than 100 pages. Well down and well written, I highly encourage you to check out this book.
This was a good quick read that came full circle for Ali and Avery. I loved her persistence to not only get the interview but to ensure he remembered her. Ironically enough they shared feelings for each other. It was enjoyable to see a man bend to a woman and her holding her ground after being accused.
Awww ☺️, a HS crush groove come true🤩‼️ More so, Avery & Ali syncopated 📚careers, hobbies & goals were too cute (dispute the trauma trope 🥴😬👀). Thereafter, I respect & appreciate a man that will admit his errors & apologize. Ali’s cool 😎 with me. Nonetheless, “Ali the Author” (4.25 ⭐️’s) was an entertaining rapid romance.
A sweet quick read about opening up your heart to love and trust again after past hurt and pain. Avery with her bubbly cheerful spirit helped break down Ali’s guarded heart and soul and quickly became a permanent fixture and helping to brighten his day and get him out of his funk.
This was such a cute second chance romance. Not too long and no fluff. Just reconnecting under strange circumstances and having a connection. Learning to heal and love again was all Ali needed. Loved that Avery was so determined! Little stalkerish but determined.
I really like these short books because they pack a lot of punch. No details are missed and the story flows beautifully.
Second chance romances always give me the feels. I'm so happy that Ali and Avery were able to connect again after secretly being each other's high school crush!
This read was short but it also was a learning lesson. For me it was knowing if you were fully healed from the past by moving on and not let what happened in the past interfere in your present relationship. I thought it was cute how Avery and Ali liked each other in high school. I enjoyed this read.
It is truly AMAZING how B. Love can pull together everything a story needs in less than 100 pages!! Nothing was lacking the struggle, the triumph, the parentals stepping in for advice and the perfect stopping point. LOVE IT🥰
This was a good, quick and drama free read. It was nice to see Avery and Ali together and I liked that he allowed himself to love again and I think Avery was the perfect person for him.
This was a good read normally it’s the woman who is not trusting but Ali has been through it & his heart was closed to love & interviews but Avery took her time crossed professional boundaries to show she was worthy of his trust & love
Ali and Avery love/loike each other since high school. Neither one knew back then how the other one felt. They stumble upon their love. This was an excellent second chance at love story. Please give us more.
