3.5 to 4 stars. End of one major arc and slow start to another. There are lots of strong and fun female characters wuth magic, and a few men with political power.
I did get miffed that a pope, who is male, can label saints (who are female) and only men have "power" which seems to be used to build armie to protect and fight while also being political (where their work is so little a extra son has a lot of time on his hands to either farm or completely take over for a sick one and lead). Slightly disappointed right now, probably because of the world or mood. Just the new set-up has youbg women disappearing, and I'm like "meh." Maybe if there was a queen with political power or a female pope. It's just blatantly onvious that the women with actual magic power, even if is a little, only matter if they have enough to become a saint, which is a ridiculous amount. And only then do they have a placement of power, while expected to work a bunch for their kingdom, while a prince can just f-off but still have a higher or just as high position doing nothing. Probably just my mood, but I'm irritated.
What an amazing volume, and great way to wrap up the arc! (The action scenes were SO good!!)
I want to say a huge thank you to the artist for creating such a happy cover, because with how the previous volume ended, I really didn't know what would happen in this one! And goodness, SO MUCH happened! I never ever want to see Mia's life on the line like that, and her extend herself as far as she did! It was horrifying, heartbreaking, and crazy enough, inspiring because she was willing to do anything and everything to help save the people of her country.
When it comes to Philia, seeing how much she has grown since coming to this new country, she has changed SO much! It makes my heart incredibly happy to see her thriving in eating good food (and wanting to try different foods), smiling so often, and being able to live in peace. She deserves nothing but happiness!
Obviously, with how this volume ended, things are about to not be peaceful any longer! But this truly was a wonderful arc, and I loved how it wrapped up! Though I will confess that I'm surprised we still haven't seen any inkling of romance, based on what I've seen on the LN covers? I think Philia needed to grow so much before ever considering romance with anyone, though, and truly loved seeing her growth, so I was not worried about the romance!
I'm very interested to see what this next arc will be and what is going to go down because it doesn't seem good with these new characters on the scene!
i thought things would calm down for a little bit before the next chaotic moment comes, but i was totally wrong. i'm not too sure if there would be any romance happening in the series since the relationship between philia and the prince is a little bit slow (and mostly non-existent) at the moment.
