Ever Cursed is the follow-up to Ever Blessed, expanding the world and raising the stakes in all the right ways. I really enjoyed following Elva and Innes, with the new POV addition of Oriann, as they each face difficult choices, shifting loyalties, and the growing threat of Ever fading from the Known World. The blend of magic, political tension, danger, and deeply personal relationships kept me invested, and I especially liked how each character’s journey brought a different perspective to the unfolding conflict.
There’s a lot to admire here: a richly imagined world, strong character development, and plenty of twists to keep things moving. At times the story felt a little dense with its different threads and factions, but overall I found it an engaging and satisfying sequel that builds nicely on the first book while leaving me eager to see where the series goes next.

This is exactly the kind of fantasy I love to read.
Ever Cursed absolutely delivered! I could not put this book down and binged it in two sittings. There is SO much happening and heaps of twists, secrets and revelations that keep you on the edge of your seat. The thing that I loved most was the hidden identities, characters are introduced and we slowly discover their secrets, who they really are, and what their motivations might be. Safe to say that as each secret was revealed, I was spiralling! Jaw. On. Floor. 🤣
Another thing I adored was getting a much deeper look into the witches’ world and their magic. The Ever continues to be such a fascinating magic system, and there was so much more to uncover about its history and how it shapes the world. Ofc, the twin souls is another great layer to the story, I was so intrigued by this concept in the first book, so getting to see more of it and understand its significance was great.
Elva continues to be my fave character, strong and determined, but also gentle. She’s discovering so much about her past, but confronting it head on, instead of running. We also get to follow the story from Oriann and Tassos perspective, which really helped add extra dimensions to the story. Through them. We get insight into the history behind the war and how each side hopes to prevail. By the end, I actually felt kinda sorry for Tassos. From his understanding of the prophecy, it seems like none of it has come to pass as expected, and now he is separated from his twin soul, Aurelia, who is being held captive. Suffice to say, I’m really keen to see where his story goes from here. This story ticks all the boxes for a great fantasy read. Somehow, Olivia manages to beautifully manage all the key elements moving alongside a plot that grows increasingly complicated and expansive.
I feel like I say this about every book with a cliff hanger but OMG. This CLIFF HANGER. Absolutely rude. Sooooo, now I need book three, stat.

Wow! I couldn’t put this one down. After the first book I wasn’t too sure about the series. But consider me officially invested! The writing has improved a lot in this book which made it so much easier to get lost in the world that Olivia has created. There’s so much happening and this book has everything! Witches. Warriors. Gods. Magic. Romance. Found Family.
This story follows the standard romantasy recipe and yet I was unable to predict anything! This was a pleasant surprise and made it a refreshing read.
I love that in this book, not only did we continue to get Innes and Elva’s POVs but we also got to learn more about Oriann and Tassos. These POVs really helped to round out the world building and provided much needed information on what was happening on different parts of the continent and why.
I found the intricacies of Ever (magic) quite fascinating and find myself wishing that I could weave a Wreath imbued with Ever.
The relationships between the characters are diverse and have continued to grow and develop throughout the story. This book has a well balanced blend of fantasy, world building, magic, character development, and romance with a hint of spice.
And that cliffhanger! I am impatiently waiting for book 3.
