Queensland, Australia. Brianna Steele leaves Riverstone Ridge and moves to the small country town of Sweetwater, with her faithful border collie and she buys the mobile veterinarian practice. Brianna rents a cute cottage from Molly, who runs a café and bookshop and she’s keen to start work.
Hayden Pierce is a widower, he owns and operates Sweetwater Stud and he’s the local horse whisperer. It’s been four years since he lost his wife, his friend Gavin and thinks he should move on and Casey would want him to as well, and the single and pretty new vet is a great candidate.
Brianna and Hayden meet, when one of his horses is foaling and both find each other attractive and there is a spark between them.
When Molly’s café is ransacked, the attack seems very personal, the culprit knew the layout and she confesses since her brother passed away she has been receiving threatening notes and they wonder if it’s all connected. Brianna and Hayden help with the clean-up and look out for Molly, it could be anyone in Sweetwater, and how could something sinister be going on in the country town? They have lots of questions and none of the answers and Hayden makes Brianna promise she will be careful and she starts to feel like someone is watching her.
I received a copy of Whispers of Sweetwater by Mandy Magro from NetGalley and Harlequin Australia in exchange for an honest review. I had no idea the novel was a sequel to Riverstone Cottage and you don’t need to have read it to enjoy this book.
Ms Magro is back doing what she does well, I like her wordy and descriptive style of writing, and in this case it’s not just a rural Australian romance story and has mystery side to it as well.
The main characters are great, Brianna and Hayden, especially her being a vet and him a horse stud owner, the lovely Molly and Tilly and Gavin is hilarious and he should have kept his silly idea to himself.
It ticked all my boxes for unputdownable read, about fresh starts, second chances, animals, a little danger and a couple of heroes. I highly recommend and five stars.

This is my fifth book by Mandy. She's fast becoming a must read author for me. I have several of her books on my tbr pile.
I love small country town stories, where everyone knows everyone else's business, but in a nice, caring way.
Mandy creates wonderful characters that you just can't help falling in love with.
The way new vet Brianna Steele fits into Sweetwater, becoming firm friends with Molly, Hayden, Gavin and Tilly, is heartwarming.
So it's no wonder Brianna jumps in to help when Molly's shop is vandalised, and she receives threatening notes. Uncovering the towns secrets could prove to be deadly.

Loved every second of my time in Sweetwater! Loved Brianna and Hayden; so much fun watching then fall in love so completely in such a charming small down! I adored Molly and her bookshop cafe!!! Of course there is darkness lies, and corruption..I was there for it all 💕 out end of September, thanks Harlequin!!!
