South Ascendant: Book 4 of the American Civil War Series
The American Civil War continues in this fourth, explosive installment!
The big battle that will decide the fate of the war in Virginia and of the Confederacy is about to be fought at a small town along the Alexandria-Orange Railroad, the city of Gordonsville. As Lee gathers his strength to fight the much-superior forces of General McClellan’s Army of the Potomac bearing down on him from the East, he hopes that Stonewall Jackson will be able to rejoin him before the battle to offset the major numerical disadvantage of his forces.
In the West, the consequences of the major Confederate defeat at Shiloh unfold as victorious General Johnston launches his forces on the offensive to reclaim Fort Henry and Fort Donelson, as well as Kentucky.
Another duel of ironclads also looms, as the CSS Virginia is about to sortie once more to challenge the Union’s naval supremacy, while abroad, French Emperor Napoleon III starts to lean in favor of the Confederacy, and thinks of supporting the South.

So Jackson did it again ran his army across the country and saved Lees army .The West is more difficult to decide though ,the loss of New Orleans is a major problem .Anyway I love this series and look forward to the next book.My eyes hurt as I've read this book in one session,I'm the Stone wall Jackson of reading.I'm anxious to see what happens when French warships become involved ,will Britain become involved ,will Washington hold
