When portals from another world split open the sky, humanity braces for war… only to discover the monsters from Erethar aren’t here to conquer. They need something from humans. Something oddly specific in order to survive.

And I’ve spent the last few years working at my little shop and doing my part to help humanity by donating what the monsters crave.

But everything turns upside down the day I get a call from a friend saying an injured, banished Vyastil is looking for sanctuary.
He’s nothing like the others I’ve met. Cielo is a soft and tender monster whose punishment doesn’t fit his crime. And unfortunately, as much as I try to help by feeding him what his body needs, he doesn’t believe he’s worthy of taking it.

I want to teach him that everything he grew up knowing about humans is wrong, and that maybe his people would be a lot less repressed if they allowed themselves the one thing humans indulge in.

But the moment Cielo gives in and tastes me is the moment it no longer becomes about what his body wants.
It’s now about who we are to each other, and what fate has in store for both our future, and the future of monsterkind.

My name is Dante, and I’m working to save Vyastil society by showing them that the pleasures of the flesh can be theirs, if they only allow themselves to take it.

You’re welcome, Erethar.

Taste is the second book in the MM Monster Romance series Feed and Feast. It contains a sex shop worker who just wants a little peace, a naïve, kind monster who has no idea how much he’s worthy of being loved, sucking, tasting, friends to lovers, touch and affection starved cinnamon rolls, body piercings as a love language, secret rescue missions, and a toe-curling, swoony, happily ever after.

well, you’d think for two authors who care so much about disabilities and inclusivity, they wouldn’t mock an entire country!

listen. when i read a book about monsters needing to suck cum to survive, i’m not expecting a literary masterpiece.
but i do expect some basic decency. when you give one of your main characters a different ancestry so it can become the butt of several jokes, you piss me off.

dante is italian, which we absolutely don’t care about, unless we have to crack a good old stereotype or have a laugh.
now, i don’t find it funny, but apparently it’s damn hilarious for these two.

mind you, i don’t care if some stereotypes end up in your book. however your mc repeatedly saying “im italian so (insert stereotype)” is annoying as hell.
here are some examples:

noooo we’re italian we only make pasta from scratch🤪🤪🤪
nooo we’re italian we go across town to get the best gelato (that shit’s arriving home melted mind you)🤪🤪🤪
we’re italian we don’t have coffee after breakfast 🤪🤪🤪
we’re italian our family says a microwave is a morally suspicious appliance 🤪🤪🤪
we’re italian we communicate through hand flapping and yelling🤪🤪🤪 (direct quote btw)
my cousin is italian im glad she isn’t giving the monster shit for drinking a cappuccino after dinner🤪🤪🤪
my mother is italian so she has to say mamma mia every two sentences🤪🤪🤪
italians are loud and everest finds it so funny🤪🤪🤪
rathyn doesn’t like italians because they’re noisy and eat food that looks like blood worms🤪🤪🤪

i stopped writing them down after that because my blood was boiling.
however, there was something that made me laugh so much i almost forgave this shit.

imagine this: you want a beer but you’re at your performative italian friend’s house. he looks at you and tells you he’s italian, so he has menabrea.
IMAGINE IT’S AN UNSPECIFIED FUTURE, MONSTERS HAVE INVADED THE EARTH AND THEY NEED SUCK CUM TO SURVIVE AND THAT FUCKING COLD PISS PATHETIC EXCUSE OF A BEER IS SOMEHOW STILL PRODUCED AND IMPORTED IN FUCKASS CITY, NOWHERE.

you can’t make this shit up i couldn’t stop laughing. i still can’t stop laughing, to be honest.

the book is honestly good. i loved cielo and i will keep loving him forever.
unfortunately, i can’t let two seasoned authors get away with this. it’s embarrassing, it’s disrespectful, it’s something that should never happen.

if you still can’t see the problem with this, pick a country of your choice and for each item of my list, add a stereotype about that country.
don’t forget to make the other characters laugh about them, it’s very important!!!

disappointed and frankly disgusted,
i hope it’s the last time i have to write a review like this one.

I don't have much to say, but while I very much enjoyed this book, I didn't love it as much as the first one. I adore Cielo and I was really looking forward to reading his story, but their relationship just didn't hit me as hard as I wanted it to. I'm not really sure why that is though. My brain is not divulging any useful information, unfortunately! I still liked it though, and I'm hoping that Eissa and Luca's story will hit me harder, when it comes out! XD

Thank you to the author for the ARC. All thoughts are my own.

Cielo and Dante far surpassed all of my expectations! This was so much fun. Their chemistry was off the charts. The caretaking scenes were adorable. The way we got to watch Cielo adjust to humanity was so fun. Making friends 😭 my heart. Also I loved seeing Everest and Rathyn again. I’m so happy with how this book played out and I’m very eager for the next book in the series to be released (gimme Luca’s book now!!! Hehe)

Cielo, baby, I love you FOREVER!!!!

ListenI have loved Cielo from the moment he appeared in Suck, and was so happy he was getting his own book because he is a precious angel baby! He and Dante are so perfect, and I loved this so much.

My only gripe is that this was definitely longer than it needed to be, but I still ate it up.

I like this universe so it was not a chore to dive back in and find out more about each species and their differences. Cielo deserved his own book and I guess Dante was right for him but I didn't vibe with Dante at all.

His chronic illness was overblown and resolved as you come to expect as everything is in this world with cum!

The last 30 % dragged so much that I had dry eyes from keeping them open. The only saving grace was the dry wit of Rathyn, that I enjoyed immensely.

Yet another book that works towards setting up multiple character arcs and couples for the future. You spend so much time predicting who will be pairing off. The epilogue focuses on Luca and Eissa and the reader is informed that they will be off planet for their story

Cielo is babygirl and I love him for it.

This book was so good and it’s my favorite of the two so far. Getting to see how Dante and Cielo grew in their relationship and healed each other was so sweet. And what a cliffhanger at the end. I can’t wait for the next book in the series. Also fuck Zane… what an asshole.

Oh my sweet little Cielo 😭😭😭😍😍😍

I love Cielo and Dante so much!! They’re both the sweetest and the kindest, and Cielo is so fucking cute I could die! Not him adopting a little baby possum 🥹🥹🥹 In this book we get to learn a little more about Cielo’s world and its corruption, which sadly isn’t much different than the real world. This one wasn’t quite as spicy as book 1, which fits the story considering both Cielo and Dante have a lot of healing to do. The spice that is there is HOT though 😮‍💨 We also get lots of Everest and Rath time, which is downright hilarious! 🤣

I am DYING for Luca and Eissa’s story now, and really eager to see what direction the author’s are going to go with Zane’s raggedy ass…is he going to be a full blown Villian, or will he eventually have a redemption arc?

Omg Cielo 🥹🩷 this story was so so cute. Cielo is kindhearted, hates violence, but also has suffered from the hands of his own kind so much. Then Dante takes him home to help him heal. There were so many gentle moments between them, because these two first of all are kind, but also crazy for each other 😊 there were lots of funny moments, like the cousin’s birthday - the balloons, Nonna 🍷😄, the double date!!!
What’s more important is that the plot thickens! I want to know what will happen with that fucking twat Zane and the human resistance. Luca and Eissa 🫣

Taste by E.M. Lindsey and Cora Rose is book 2 in the Feed and Feast series. I loved book 1, so I was really looking forward to book 2. Cielo and Dante were both favorites from the first book, so I knew this would be a good one. The plot moved along beautifully and I am invested in where this is going. The issue of the Vyastil arriving on Earth and making demands of the humans is definitely complicated. I understand both sides.

Dante and Cielo were so stinkin’ sweet and I loved watching their relationship grow. Dante’s family was also great. So loving and welcoming to Cielo. Dante’s mom knitting pink socks was one of the sweetest moments.

I was expecting Q and Zane to be next, but I cannot lie, I am here for the couple in the next book. I cannot wait. I am interested to see how they will make me like Zane. What he did near the end of the book seems almost unforgivable. It will be interesting and I have to say, my heart broke for Everest realizing exactly who his former roommate and friend is. I highly recommend this series and cannot wait to read the next one!

I received an ARC from the authors for my honest review.

I'd like to start by thanking the Author Agency and the authors for providing me with an advanced copy of this book to read. All thoughts and opinions shared are my own!!

I can't say too much about this book because it is a sequel and it does build on elements and events from the first book Suck. However it should be noted that I loved every second of my time and I was so happy to be back in this world!

Cielo and Dante are in fact everything to me, they already were after book one but this solidified it even further 😍 Just two beings on a journey to healing, love and the development of the monster sex toy market 👀 ALSO it has chronic pain rep (with unique pain management) and Deaf rep 🖤

Such an amazing story, with some beautiful and very hot spice between them! We also have some world building happening and I am so curious to see how that plays out because tension is brewing 🔥

I am very excited for the next book in the story to see more relationships, and to also explore some of this plot that we're developing!!

“My Dante” I kneeew these two were going to be the sweetest couple! The tenderness between Dante and Cielo was so heartwarming. Dante had been curious about Cielo in book one when Everest brought Cielo into Dantes “adult store” but when Everest and Rath have to rescue Cielo and help him heal, Dante is who they turn too. It really is cute how they both tiptoe around one another because they are both so into one another. When they finally give in there is soooo much love you can can’t help but smile. And their spicy times are definitely gonna live rent free in my head. Yes Cielo is tender and sweet but he gets FERAL for his Dante!

This was ok. I love Cielo, but he lacked chemistry with Dante. I missed the romance. There was no real passion. This book was also way too long. Needed a lot of editing. I do like this world and I’m excited for the next book. I feel like that couple will be more interesting.

I think everyone in the book world who read Suck fell in love with Cielo, who’s the most delightful character, and it can’t have been just my heart that broke after seeing the state he was in at the end of the first book in the series. I was ready to go to war for him! There was absolutely no doubt about whether I’d be reading this one after that. It wasn’t a want; it was a need!

Just when I thought Cielo couldn’t get any cuter, he proved me wrong time and time again in Taste. I wanted to squeeze him so tightly for being such an incredibly endearing, precious thing, and never let him go. I loved seeing his joy at making and spending time with his new friends and learning and enjoying new things, as well as his delight over his favourite jacket. I’d make Cielo as many lattes as he wants to hear his happy trills and make those wonderfully expressive ears flutter. And let’s not forget that fab multipurpose tail…

And not only did Cielo make me coo at his cuteness but he also made me melt at his pronunciation of English words that are so much more fun when Cielo says them: poopcorn or pooo-tatos, anyone? Or perhaps, you’d also like to adopt your own pussyum? And let’s not forget the best name for Dante’s dad: Peepoo (only he could win over his future MIL’s heart in 0.5 seconds for being so precious!). This Vyatil’s got the biggest, purest hearts around, and I couldn’t love him any more than I already do (but I am prepared to eat my words in future books because he will no doubt prove me wrong!).

We cannot forget Dante either, because his kindness and sweet caretaking and protectiveness of Cielo is what encourages the Vyastil to come out of his shell and give them a chance. I was so thrilled that Dante found Cielo after his own complicated past, and after he so longed to find his person.

I was delighted to see that Rathyn and Everest are their usual selves here, with their constant bickering but also that softness they reserve for each other. Rathyn and his blunt delivery of statements still amuses me greatly, especially when it’s in relation to sexy times or those fun toys that Dante gives them. Sorry, Everest, I did want to join Dante in falling into fits of laughter while you blushed at Rathyn’s very honest verdicts. (Side note chapter 23 – comedy gold. One of my fave scenes).

Seeing Everest and Rathyn again exaggerated how different these two couples’ relationships are. While I adore both couples, Dante and Cielo have an extra special place in my heart with their connection. Warm, safe and reassuring, these two’s relationship is like a loving hug, and you only want more of them. More of their wholesome goodness.

It’s so hard to see Dante or Cielo in pain and hurting in this book – I HATED it – but there’s no question about whether they’ll be there for each other and help each other through it. Cielo, especially, grows so much in this, conquering his fear with the help of his friends, and I relished seeing him thrive.

I loved how this book finished for these two – so so thrilled for them both – but I’m also pleased that it won’t be a goodbye for good, as we’ll surely see them again in the rest of the series. And while I’m nervous about what’s to come in the ongoing storyline, I’m glad that these characters have each other and their friends behind them all for what’s coming, and I’m ready for it! Can’t wait for Luca’s story.

I’ll finish by saying one of the side characters needs one heck of a redemption story to win me over after what he did in this book!

-----

Some of my favourite quotes

“I know I haven’t said it, but just know that I’m glad you’re here. And I’m glad you’re alive. I’m going to take such good care of you.”

“You will always have a home here. You will always be safe.”

The very idea that Cielo would be interested in eradicating us is almost laughable. He’s a tender little marshmallow who just wants to be held and kissed and given lattes.

“I’m just so sorry. I never want to ruin the trust you have in me. You’re important to me, Cielo. Baby,”

“You have us. You won’t be alone like that ever again.”

“Don’t leave me.” “Never. My Dante. Never.”

He is my joy, my soul. I am so glad I have found him, that he is a part of me.

“I’m so glad we met, that I found you, Cielo. You are my heart... I’ve never said this to anyone else...but...I love you.”

For I shall never regret a single thing about my Dante. Never in a thousand moons. And what I see in those depths is nothing like regret, not even close. It is love.

“My Dante.” “Yes. I am completely yours.”

I belong to these people—human and Vyastil. But more than that, I belong to him. To my Dante.

“I love you, Cielo. Now and always, until my last breath.”

‼️SPOILERS‼️

I knew when we met Cielo in the first book that I was going to love his story. Shoot, he was my favorite MC in the first book and his story did not disappoint me at all.

Dante and Cielo made me hope for the two of them because the way that they were with one another, I just knew it was everything. From the way that Dante took care of Cielo, I was yearning for these two. Dante had feelings for Cielo from the beginning and I just loved how sweet he was to Cielo.

I loved Cielo so much. He loved so much and to see him make friends was just so cute. His story was so heartbreaking and I was so happy that he got to see his brothers again. That scene had me wanting to hug Cielo because he’s such a golden retriever they makes you want to protect him from harm’s way. Just seeing him adapt to the human world was beautiful.

My favorite part was how these two built their relationship from Dante taking care of him to becoming friends, getting to know another and eventually falling for one another.

I also loved how Dante’s chronic illness was beautifully written. From someone that has a chronic illness, I just loved the representation of his diagnosis. Also, it just made me really think of what he’s been through most of his life.

I loved how we got to see cameos from the first book and some new ones. Everest and Rathyn were fun. Rathyn and his jealousy issues had me laughing. I loved how he said he liked orange. And oh my god the non-blood worms.

Of course there is drama at the end and man, I was so emotional because what just happened?

That epilogue was everything that makes me eager for the third installment. Is every book going to make me eager for the next one because what?!

Even though I knew this was going to be a thick baby, it didn’t feel long because I kept on wanting more as I read in.

I could go on and on but man, I really loved this book so much!

I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.

Taste by Cora Rose and E.M. Lindsey is the second book in the Feed and Feast series, and it picks up right where book one left off. This time, the story follows Cielo and Dante, and I was completely invested in their journey from beginning to end.

After being beaten and exiled by the other Vyastil, Cielo finds safety and care with Dante. Dante owns a sex shop, lives with chronic pain, and has been teaching Cielo ASL so he can better communicate with humans. The tenderness between these two is one of the highlights of the book. Their relationship is built on trust, patience, and genuine care, and the caretaking scenes were some of my absolute favorites.

The romance and spice were fantastic. As a virgin, Cielo is navigating a lot of new experiences, and Dante takes things slowly, helping him discover intimacy in a way that feels thoughtful, caring, and incredibly hot. Their chemistry is undeniable, and every step of their relationship felt earned.

Beyond the romance, this book expands the world in exciting ways. Without spoiling anything, the authors continue to build on the fascinating dynamics between humans and the Vyastil while planting seeds for future conflicts and developments. I loved learning more about this world and seeing where the story might go next.

It was also great to reconnect with characters from the first book while meeting new ones. The group of gym bros who take Cielo under their wing added so much warmth, humor, and support to the story.

This series continues to impress me with its combination of heart, heat, humor, and worldbuilding. The epilogue left me desperate for the next installment, and I cannot wait to see what happens next. Highly recommended for fans of paranormal romance with strong emotional connections and wonderful found-family vibes!

I think many people will enjoy this book, unfortunately it didn’t really work for me. Writing wise, it would have needed serious editing. Like cut at least 200 pages. There were also quite a few inconsistencies (Cielo going to the Foundry, the movie tickets) I was just bored through most of it. I did however laugh out loud many times.

What I didn’t enjoy:
- Instalove. They were pretty much into each other from page 1.
- Too sweet and lovey dovey.
- Too many unnecessary scenes with other characters. I enjoyed most scenes with Everest and Rathyn, but even they got to be too much towards the end.

I LOVED the first book in the series, and I’m still going to try book 3.

Still about 100 pages too long, but I think this benefitted from being book 2 and us already getting the world building set up in book 1. Obviously we are building to a large overarching storyline, but it does seem like some plot points are a bit shoehorned in…amongst a few other too repetitive things. We could easily still get that political aspect or reforming Vyastil society while getting the romance, but then there are like 3 more side plots happening as well.

BUT I’m super intrigued by the set up for the next book 👀

I also really loved Cielo & Dante together. There cute vibes are much more up my alley than the dynamics of boom 1.

I binge read both books over a weekend, and while I enjoyed Suck, I liked Taste slightly more. I prefer Dante and Cielo as characters, and their dynamic is adorable. I also loved having a character who has chronic pain, because the entire reason I needed a series to binge was because of a chronic pain flare. I'd like to add my input there - it isn't "overblown". Chronic pain can be that bad. I've been that bad in the last 48 hours alone. Tell me you haven't dealt with it without telling me 🙄 I laughed at the solution, but that's kind of what you'd expect from this series, so whatever.
I LOVED the Deaf representation, and can't wait to have a Deaf MC in Luca!

Many parts of this made me laugh, Ceilo adjusting to his new life and making friends had some great and funny moments. Unfortunately for me, this book just ran on way too long. By the 80% point, I was so annoyed with how many things were going on with side characters that Dante kept saying eh I don’t have time to think about this right now. It started to feel like bad writing. There are better ways to foreshadow than to have your MC just being a bad friend or being stupid. I skimmed the last 15% of the book which made me sad to do but I was kind of over it. I hope they do a bit more editing for the next book.

ARC REVIEW

Sweet, sweet Cielo deserved so much better than what Erethar has given him.

This book was so much sweeter than Suck. Seeing Dante take care of Cielo after his punishment melted my heart, especially because Cielo is just as determined to look after Dante during his pain flare-ups. These two are the definition of mutual care.

They were everything together. No unnecessary drama, just two people falling in love, supporting each other, and being ridiculously adorable.

And watching Cielo discover Earth? My boy went from a life of orders and obligations to making friends, enjoying himself, and falling head over heels for Dante.

The family moments were another highlight. Dante’s loud Italian family adopted Cielo approximately 0.1 seconds after meeting him, and I loved getting to meet Cielo’s brothers too. Please tell me they’re all getting their own books because I need them to find happiness immediately.

Also, Cielo and his pussymm? Haha Dante can’t deny him anything not even a possum in the house 😂

Rath and Everest absolutely stole every scene they were in. The bloodworms or, as Earth calls them, spaghetti. The celebration of impending death also known as a birthday party. Rath taking Zumba classes and twerking. Perfection 😂😂😂

And we finally got the answer to the age-old question: can you take Vyastil to the movies for a date?
Absolutely not. 😂

And that ending… 😭 Zane?! I desperately need an explanation.

And let’s not forget Eissa and Luca’s epilogue in the Vegas hotel room. 🌶️

I cannot wait for the next book. This one set up the upcoming stories perfectly.

Taste begins immediately after the events of book 1 (Suck), with Dante picking up an injured Cielo from Everest and Rathyn.

Thanks to the excellent world-building in the first book, we were able to slip right into Dante and Cielo’s story. I really liked that, while Taste picked up the larger plotlines and included many of the same characters, the stories were very different. In book 1, we saw the relationship between a high-ranking Vyastilian and a human, in which Everest (the human) had to learn everything about this new alien world. Comparatively, Cielo is an outlander, making him a second-class citizen on Vyastil, and because of his banishment, the story focuses on him learning and adapting to Earth.

While I love, love, loved the dynamic between Dante and Cielo (they both get to be the comfort part of the hurt/comfort), I am super invested in the larger politics of Vyastil and the rising conflict with humans. I’m infinitely curious whether our prince-turned-gym owner, Quilliyn, will take a more direct role in helping all his people.

Dante and Cielo’s relationship is so sweet as it slowly builds. They are hopelessly attracted to each other, but both have built walls to protect themselves that they need to bring down.

I don’t want to believe it means something because I’m not really in a place where I can handle getting my heart broken, but I can’t help but feel a tiny spark of hope from last night flaring to life in my chest.

And then my entire life and everything I believed about the Vyastil, humans, and what we were doing was flipped upside down the moment a human man took me in his arms and hugged me.

While there is intense chemistry that comes together in a *very* explosive way, I appreciated that they are both so cautious and focused on making sure the other is comfortable.

Also, how can you not fall in love with a man whose love language is feeding people, complete with freshly made pasta?

I can’t wait for book 3!

Cielo is so sweet and innocent

So I fell in love Cielo in book one. He is a much lower station and with that comes a lot of new experiences. He is badly beaten and now in exile on Earth. Of course Dante is more than happy to help Cielo heal even if he keeps refusing to take the one thing that will help the most.

I really enjoyed the child like wonder we get from Cielo. Everything is still so new. I adored seeing him experience new things, make friends and of course give in to the pull between him and Dante.

I love that Cielo takes up sign language as it's easier for him than English. Plus it allows him to communicate with Luca.

I adore that Dante has the smex shop filled with adaptive toys. He believes everyone should have a hand in their pleasure. Of course him creating toys specifically for the Vyastil.

I love that we see a bit more about what's going on back on Erethar but also with the extremists on Earth.

I adore the found family vibes in this series. The freaking double date had me rolling. Two human mates and their monsters at the movies then home to discuss in detail the products they have been testing out. I freaking loved this.

Of course we now know who the couple will be in the next book. We also know it will be taking place back on Erethar. I can't wait to see what's next.

Cora Rose and E.M. Lindsey make a fantastic writing duo, and I had a great time getting lost in this story. The romance was sweet, the chemistry was undeniable, and the characters were easy to root for from the very beginning.

The relationship development was my favorite part. Watching these characters slowly lower their walls and find their way to each other was both heartwarming and satisfying. Their connection felt natural, and I couldn't help but smile at so many of their interactions.

Was it a book that made me ugly cry or left me staring at a wall questioning my existence? No. But it was fun, comforting, romantic, and exactly what I needed when I picked it up.

If you're a fan of Cora Rose, E.M. Lindsey, or simply enjoy character-driven romances with lots of heart, I think you'll have a great time with Taste.

Overall did I enjoy this book? Yeah? I really wanted Dante and Cielo’s story and overall it was….decent, I do feel like it was sort of drug out. I could be the minority here but I felt like it could have been shorter.
Cielo is absolutely adorable, and so sweet and protective of Dante. Dante is a strong willed character, living with chronic pain and trying not to let anyone else see.
There seems to be a lot that goes on in the story but also nothing going anywhere at all, it’s weird like that. It took me longer than I care to admit to get through this book.
However I’m super interested in Luca and Eissa’s story.

Again these covers!! 😻😻😻 this one has me giggling through out. Omg the sharing of the panties?! 🤦‍♀️😂. We get to see a lot of Everest and Rathyn as well as Zane and Quillyn. Cielo is such and gentle broken Vyastil and Dante is the perfect human to heal and help him recover. This was so sweet. Much more emotionally driven. Still lots of spice but the emotion and connection between Dante and Cielo is amazing. After that epilogue! CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT!!!!!

Probably 3.5 for this one

I was super excited for Dante and Cielo’s book after reading about them in book one. My only downside with this book is that it was so long. I mean it’s 574 pages. I really don’t think it needed to be that long, it kinda dragged in the end there.

BUT the epilogue did set up the next book nicely so I’m excited to see where Luca and Eissa’s story takes us.

Yeahhhh, this was good! Higher expectations than the first book (again, cause the bar was subterranean when I picked up the first book), and I still enjoyed the heck out of it!

Can’t wait until we get Luca’s story! I kinda wish I hadn’t read any of these until the series was complete cause this girl hates waiting for the next book to come out.
