No need to summarise this book because it’s all in the title/subtitle. Written in the early 1990s, before mobile phones and social media, it seems very dated now. The teenager in the book could have teenagers of her own. I'm surprised at it still appearing on lists, unless the idea is to get today's kids to understand that their parents were not that different from them, despite not having modern technology.

I quite enjoyed it for the nostalgia, and it’s sometimes amusing to see the different way that the mother and daughter record the same events in their diaires… but it wasn’t laugh-out-loud funny. A quick, easy read.

Este libro lo lei en diciembre , y ya estamos en marzo jajaja pero habia olvidado que no hice una reseña para este . Realmente lo que puedo decir de este libro , es que le tenia poquisimas expectativas y me sorprendio , no porque fuera "EL MEJOR LIBRO DEL UNIVERSO" solo que enganche con el libro , la historia me gusto aunque fuera simple y hubieron momentos en los que me senti identificada , no lo se , es un libro que tal vez volveria a leer en un momento que este aburrida porque se lee super rapido y es entretenido xx

This is a fantastic young adult book, offering diary entries from teenage Jenny and her middle-aged mother. Covers the usual teenage problems - staying out late, drinking, clothes, sibling rivalry, boyfriends, unsuitable friends - with warm and humility, and refreshing to see them from a mother's perspective too. Recommended.

Bel libro. Jenny è alle prese con la prima cotta. prima andava tutto bene ma poi il ragazzo la lascia e si mette con la sua migliore amica (che poi viene scaricata). Intanto Jenny organizza la sua festa insieme ad una sua amica, convincendo i genitori a lasciarle sole ma i guai ci sono.

Hmm, not sure why the summary is in Portuguese...?
Anyway, dueling diaries, mother / daughter. Quick and fun. Occasionally too good to be true. Could be used with an EFL class with teenage girls.
