Allow Me to Check Your Reception
Emotionally eviscerated and humiliated by her husband’s affair, Ali turns to a hot cable guy for payback. Is her tit-for-tat fling mature? No. Will she regret it? Maybe. But I dare you to ask any woman in the heat of a spurning to judge Ali.
The Best Cable Package is part 1 of a serial novel with 5 completed & available parts. It has a happy-for-now ending.
Denna’s writing is fast-paced, loaded with emotion, and almost painfully real. Even if you don’t agree with the characters’ decisions and actions, you’ll get why they do what they do. You’ll cheer for them when they soar and shake your fist at the universe when they crash and burn.
Like other female characters of Denna’s I’ve read, Ali has backbone. Her man has done her wrong, and she’s not standing for it. She’d got spunk and wit, but she’d also wonderfully vulnerable. In arranging some very personal payback for her cheating husband, she learns that keeping emotions separate from sex is easier said than done.
Ali isn’t perfect, and neither is Cam, the cable guy with the great package who lends an enthusiastic helping hand when Ali requests it. It was a blast watching these two characters slam together in a hot and heavy insta-lust relationship and then grapple with unexpected feelings as lust fires something much deeper for them both.
Now, don’t go thinking Ali and Cam are going to get their full-fledged Happy Ever After without lots of ups and downs. This is a serialized novel for a good reason. From what I’m seeing in the blurbs, Ali has a lot of emotional development to accomplish, and Cam isn’t the only man who is going to help her along the way.
I thoroughly enjoyed part I of this series and will be getting the next. I’ll keep the reviews coming as I read them.
