This volume wraps up the three-part series, and while I enjoyed it overall, that isn’t without some reservations. The first volume could have been a self-contained story, as it was more about a burgeoning romance beyond the confines of gender. That worked very well, and rather than introduce dramatic tension where there wasn’t any before, additional characters came into play in the second volume. It was fine to explore new angles, but that left one final volume in which to wrap things up. Things get quite dark in reference to some of the supporting character’s storylines, which doesn’t quite fit the vibe of the rest of the series. The main couple have a conclusion that is a little abrupt in some ways, but, then again, there was not really much to resolve that hadn’t been explored in the first volume. Still, I enjoyed the overarching themes and the series as a whole.
