Great catching up with all the other great characters...
Now, then Xavier....I'm a patient woman ...but please, please, please give us Luke's story next!!
love all the characters in this series you still get glimpses of the group of friends in each book.
Plot predictable you know where its heading theres no twists but I actually like that, and I love hea's.
Like the other books the characters address the reader getting you involved for example: yeh you were thinking that to weren't you. Its different, great and fun.
It's fun,hot & humerous in parts
Would love to read a book about Dean coming of age he's Logans mini me and already coming across as a little man whore in the making, lots of lol moments with him throughout.
Holy hot sex Batman! If you thought Logan Kellar was hot, wait until you read about Tony! You may find that he’s even hotter than Kellar (Don’t tell him I said that though ;) )
Grab your fans ladies; you’re going to need them!
After waking up married to the smoking hot indie rocker Lex, Tony’s life changes forever (one, he now has an unlimited amount of sex ::fans face:: ). Though Tony decides to stay married to the hot rocker to help her with her situation, he starts to develop some strong feels for her that he never expected. As they spend more and more time with each other, he starts to realize that there is more to Lex then what she lets people see.
With Lex’s insecurities about love, Tony has to find a way to prove to her that he wants her to stay around for good. Will Tony be able to show her that he loves her for who she is and now what she pretends to be, or will her insecurities run to deep for her to believe him?
These two were made for each other, here’s to hoping that Tony can make her see that as well!
As I’ve said before in previous reviews for this series, I just LOVE how Xavier is able to tell the characters story, and involve the reader as well. The characters talk to you as if you were there right with them (I’ve found myself responding to them a time or two ;) ). Xavier does such an amazing job of building the characters, and ever the sub characters so that you fell like you know them.
If you haven’t started reading this series yet, what are you waiting for? You’re missing out on an amazing group of characters!

Lex girl can tease her man, "the minute I see his teeth dig sharply into his bottom lip I ask, "is there a problem?" A low groan crawls out as I feel his d*** stiffen in my grasp." Tony he likes to make sure he wears things that make him think of his woman through out the day, "why wouldn't I wanna wear the tie that made my wife come not once, not twice, but three times before 8 a.m.?" Lex sometimes doesn't know the proper etiquette speak when screwing her man, "baby, I can't keep a hard d*** and talk about the people who decided to bring me into this world to try to save their marriage at the same time." At times I thought Lex could have done a little more to welcome herself in the gang inside of always having her hands on her man which I had no problem with but I think there's a time and place for that and well being introduced to the gang and family isn't one of those times.
I swear I have it been able to put this series down! The first 5 were about one couple and now it has branched off to more of the character which is great. You still get the original main characters while learning more about the others. Tony is a sweetheart! He and Maxx almost had a thing together but of course she was in love with someone else. So they became best friends and he was kinda felt like the 3rd wheel when around his friends/true family. That is until a drunken night in Vegas turned things around for him. Lex is a singer in a band who has been on her own since she was a teen and has a troubled past which has made her not want to settle down until meeting a drunk stranger in Vegas. They are total opposites, but they say that opposites attract...
She may not have been the girl he first had his eyes on but she turned out to be THE best girl for Tony Reed. Liz had a lot of baggage she was running from and stability was something she did not have since she was 15 yrs old. Tony was that stability for her, but he was only doing her a favor and they both ended up falling in love and trying to make their relationship work.
This story did not keep my attention like Logan and Maxx. I could not relate to them but I understood why Tony was the way he was and why Liz had wanderlust.
Well , well ,well ...we finally learn the truth and secrets behind Tony's story. He's in Vegas one night at his brothers bachelor party ( might I add his future sister in law is a grade a beotch) . He's drinker than a skunk. Sees this gorgeous tatted up girl and decides to marry her. It's a marriage of convince. She's from Wales and need to get her green card. What transpires from then is just amazing. I really have fallen pretty hard for thus series.
Sigh.......... I am so happy that Tony finally got his happy story. Tony was used to playing 2nd choice, so when the chance came up to do something thrilling to help someone, he jumped at the chance. I absolutely love Lex and Tony together, they give each other what was missing in each others lives.
You met Tony in Blind as a love interest for Maxx, buthe became a great friend to Maxx, Logan, Erin and Luke throughout the series. When I started this book I was like “woah” not how I expected to see Tony’s story go but man did I love it! Lex is great and I was happy to see both of these two discover themselves with each other.
Oh yeah, this series keeps getting better and better! Loved Tony and Lex, like opposites really do attract. They were so good for each other! Good book! Ok, on to the next in the series.
Oh my goodness what a great read! I had fun reading Tony and Lex's story. It's smoking hot, feisty and fun. I love getting to tap in to emotions, digging in to Lex's life. Another great read in this series that I'm loving so much.
Holy smokes!!!! I thought my Kindle was going to explode! HOT, HOT, HOT!!!!! I always think Xavier’s books can’t get any sexier, but she always proves me wrong, time and time again! Agonize is Tony’s story; he is Maxx’s best friend and the male version of her. He comes across as somewhat of a nerd, but he proved me wrong! Who knew underneath he was a hot sex god???
Agonize was somewhat different than the other books in the series. Readers are introduced to a new character, Lex. Let me just say Agonize starts off with a bang and doesn’t let you out of its clutches until the last page was read. Without spoiling anything, Tony wakes up in Vegas married. It’s a marriage of convenience, but Tony has a hard time remembering that as he begins to develop deeper feelings for his new wife, Lex. She is the polar opposite of Tony. She is a major risk taker and is the life of the party. Can marriage between two opposites turn into something real? Read on to find out!
Xavier is a genius at pulling me into her story by connecting me with her characters. Again, I was the confidante of both characters. This is one of my favorite things about Xavier’s writing, and it never gets old! I like knowing the characters deepest thoughts, feelings, and fears! Readers are always given just even juicy tidbits of the secondary characters in her novels that whets your appetite. Then, when you meet them in their own books, you get to know their deep, dark secrets, and some are explosive! Tony is no different. He comes across as this straitlaced, responsible, average guy who happens to be sexy and hot. But, this average guy persona is an illusion. He’s just as much a sexy, alpha male in the bedroom as Logan and C.J. are! And, Lex, is more than she appears to be too. She comes across as a sexy, confidant, fun-loving woman, yet underneath she’s an insecure girl just looking for love. She and Tony are so different, yet when they are together, they’re just perfect!
Xavier Neal just keeps surprising me with each book she writes. She gives me something different in each book and keeps it fresh and new. And, as usual, she keeps me waiting, may I say very impatiently, for the next book in the series!

A marriage of convenience may be how it starts out but it most definitely isn’t where it ends. Tony has come back from Vegas with more than memories of the fun time he had while he was there – he’s come back with a wife. Tying the knot with Lex may have been intended to help her get her green card and to stay in the country now her rock band are beginning to make it but feelings be damned because there is more between the two of them that they were initially willing to admit. It doesn’t take long for either of them to step outside the sham and stop playing at the whole relationship thing – they develop feelings for each other that are all too real and that brings its own set of problems. Tony doesn’t want to give Lex up and is determined that now he has his woman that he will keep her and despite her gruffness and the rocker persona Lex shows to the world, in private she is just as keen to be the woman that Tony both needs and deserves, the two of them are pulling toward the same result but they are doing it from opposite directions and that doesn’t bode well for either of them. Miscommunications and misunderstanding have them at each other throats and no amount of hot (and I do mean hot) loving is going to be able to sort that out without some serious talk time. Lex has issues that give her cause to doubt everything that she wants but Tony has determination for the pair of them and he does everything he can to prove that she is safe with him and that he really does love her. And who would have thought that words of wisdom from the inimitable Logan Kellar would help them both along the way – god I love that man! Can they overcome their issues and make their marriage work or will this marriage of convenience be more of an inconvenience to them both? As with the other books in the Senses series – the writing style is exceptional, I love being able to converse with the characters and no I don’t feel like a plonker for saying that – I really feel that they encourage me to interact with them and their little nuggets of banter are just a stroke of genius. This has been my favourite series find and I cannot recommend it highly enough – if you are looking for something different then look no further because Xavier Neal has your back!
*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review *
Agonize can be read as a stand alone, however, the full story contained within the prior novels are worth the money and time. I am committed to the Senses series by Xavier Neal. Her characters are so well-known and loved that the author has been writing these stand alones per request of her readers.
The emotional atmosphere in Agonize geld a different allure to me from the former books in this series. I am, however, biased. I am a die hard Logan Maxx fan. This story is about Maxx's nerdy best friend Tony and his relationship with Indie Rock Star, Lex. He married Lex on a whim in Vegas. That is part of the difference here. Lex isn't known before this story as with the other Senses characters. She has to be felt out, explored, before acceptance can be considered.
I was whole heartedly agreeing with Maxx during her little outburst and on her silent treatments toward Tony. Who gets married in Vegas and stays married? She's looking out for him. The others are more accepting, but they aren't as close to Tony as Maxx. And Logan is just happy to have her pregnancy rage directed at someone other than himself.
I did warm to Lex's "you can't bring me down" attitude. Inside she may have been vulnerability personaified, but her exterior didn't break in front of the snoot and snotty. She scored major points for taking interest in Tony's geeky tradition's.
The graphic, sexual content is amped up a few notches in this novel. If you've read the previous novels, that statement alone will have you immersed in this story. Enjoy! I did.
Another 5 stars for Xavier Neal! Keeping writing those stories that make us swoon!
I'll be honest, I lost sleep and had sex while reading this book last night. That's right, I'm not ashamed, I just could not put it down, so I just spread out and told my SO do what he has to do and let me know when he's finish. So that's that. Now.....Tony, Tony, Tony. Damn Tony. Where the f*k was all this in Maxx and Logan's book? I mean, DUDE you would have totally been first choice if you brought all that manaconda into the bedroom. But alas, you can't compete with Logan Motherf*king Keller. So I enjoyed the hell out of this installment. Who knew quiet Tony was a got damn freak. Ohhh lawd, those bedroom scenes. SAY MY NAME!!!! My favorite nerd likes it ROUGH! That also being said, I didn't like Lex. I didn't like her soiled paws all over my Tony. As everyone was saying, she wasn't the girl for him, but then later down in the chapters I accepted her just because she gave Tony her all. No one puts Tony in a corner!. I loved the dialogue and catching up with my Harts and Kellers. Seriously Maxx pop that baby out already, and Erin still bitches at CJ. I'm going to totally miss this series when I finally get to Dean's story, that's why I'm savoring the shit out of this series. I'm not ready to leave this wonderful world yet. We get the usual interaction with the book where the characters talk to us and the humor and cocky ass attitude from our favorite guys. Finally the nerd got his hot rock-star chick. I'm coming for you next Luke.
holy hell this book is hot!! anther amazing book from Xavier Neal!!
tony wakes up married to the bad- A$$ rocker chick lix. hes get the most amazing sex out of this marriage. tony married lex to help her with a situation although as time goes on hes falls in love with lex. lex has a whole bunch of brick walls put up and as time goes on tony starts to break them down an see a little more of lex that no one else has seen. but then some one fills his head with doubt and he starts second guessing everything. is his feelings stronger or will he let his doubt run wild an get the best of him?
now lex or her singer name is lix. she agreed to marry to tony to help her out. she only wants it to be a fake marriage or that's what she keeps telling her self.. as time goes on she sees a little more of tony nerdy side, I mean she knows hes a nerd but she didn't know he was a amzing nerd in and out of bed ;) lix has had a rough life, she had to do some things to get ahead in life, so she thinks she aint good enough to be tonys wife or worthy for that.. and it also doesn't help that she has someone telling her the opposite of what she wants an fills her head with doubt too. can she get past her past? can she ever feel that she deserves a hea?
I really fell in love with tony! and lex just made him that more special!! I really connected with these characters!
Another amazing addition to this awesome series. This book was basically dedicated to Tony and Lex. Lex is a woman he met while in Las Vegas, got drunk and then got married! It still involved the rest of the group but what pretty much started out for Lex as a marriage of convenience so Lex could get her green card, was way something more for Tony. Tony felt it the minute he met Lex. He felt a connection that he had never felt for anyone before. It seems like from the start, Tony's family was out to destroy their relationship. But his "real" family, Maxx, Logan, Dean, Erin and all the rest of the "misfits" supported him in anything he was going to choose! I am so excited that even with the 7th book in this series, and I am still getting sucked right in from the start. The story flows so nicely, with very strong characters that I can relate to. The story being told is realistic and romantic. I feel like this could be something that could actual happen to someone I know. I love the dynamics that the group of "misfits" have created and the closeness and love that they have all adapted for each other. They all have something in their lives that they are lacking and they have all found that thing within their own little family! Looking forward to seeing what happens in Suffocate with Luke and Stuart!
Wow! Who knew how hot Tony is! All I know is that if that is what it's like to be a nerd then count me in! Finally Tony gets his story and let me tell you it did not disappoint. He was always best friend to everyone else while putting himself last. His love life lacked while everyone else's love life seemed to fall into place. Tony just never had that until this book with the ultimate proof of what happens when opposites attract. Although Lex and Tony married out of haste and decided to stay married for Lex to stay in the country their relationship grew real and fast. With lots of passion and good loving which drew these two together with the right about chemistry that was undeniable from the start. Lex was just what Tony needed for him to come alive while still never losing site of who he truly is. Lex has her own baggage but when the two of them together love will heal the wounds and damage that was done. An absolutely amazing story that just makes you happy that Tony finally got his HEA. Well done Xavier on another knock out book from the Senses Series! You continue to step up your game and blow me away with each book that you write!
I was given this book to read in turn for an honest review!!!
Tony spends a wild night in Vegas that lands him married to an Indie rockstar. Did he just make the biggest mistake of his life or could she prove herself to be 'the one'?
Funny, nerdy and HOT, what’s not to love about Tony Reed! In Agonize Xavier Neal truly brought Tony’s character to life, a sexy nerd who’s desperate to not be second best and accepted for who he really is. I loved Lex’s character; she is sexy, carefree and has a great sense of humour. She gives each member of the sense’s family a run for their money in the sarcasm department. If you thought the Sense’s series couldn’t get any hotter, you are in for one hell of a surprise! I can’t wait for Luke and Stuart’s story!
If you have loved the Senses series so far you are going to love Tony and Lex’s story in Agonize. This can be read as a standalone but in order to get full enjoyment I would recommend reading the rest of the Senses series first.
Who knew nerdy Tony, was really a buff, dirty talking, guy!
Tony wakes up married to Lex aka Lix, sexy, tattooed, lead singer of a band. Total opposite of Suite wearing, Dr. Who loving, Tony.
But these two couldn't be a better match. They may come from completely different worlds. But the love, banter, and holy hell the sexy times between them, works.
Tony & Lex, are another great couple in this series. You'll root for them from the start.
I love being able to get into the heads of characters we already love from the previous stories.
I really loved the whole rocker and nerd love story, but flipped. Nerdy guy, rocker chick, Love it!
It was so fresh, and lots of fun.
And of course we get more Logan, Maxx, C.J., Erin, Luke, Stewart, and Dean.
I love this group, and after every book, you start to feel like you are part of there little family.
I've really enjoyed the Senses series and overally I liked this book but sadly I just didn't love it. I struggled to connect to Lex and Tony as a couple for a good part of the book - I think I maybe needed the scenes where they first got together or possibly some more scenes where they gave to each other on a more emotional level. Lex and Tony were great characters it was just I felt I needed something more from them. While I may not have not connected to them emotionally I had no trouble believing their sexual chemistry - it was sizzling - who knew Tony was going to be such a dirty talking NERD.
The thing that I did love that is previlent on all the books, the banter between everyone and the scenes with all the original guys. Those scenes never fail to make me smile.
I will certainly not be thinking twice of 1 clicking Luke's story and hopefully Xavier may treat us to Dean's story a few years down the line.
Poor Tony who we met during Logan and Max’s rollercoaster of a ride to a relationship, helped get them together although originally interested in Max for himself it grew into a friendship, which earned him a place in the family, with loads of failed, not up to scratch woman he went on a bender in Vegas to celebrated his brother getting hitched ( what a story that develops into ) he meets a Rock star called Lix a Welsh fire cracker who needs to marry to stay in the country, in a drunken stupor he agrees and they marry, waking the next day he realises she’s the girl of his dreams and fills the gap in his heart, can he convince her its for real, can Lix with her family background really have what she always looked for, or is he just making it look good for her green card application, Add into the mix the reception she receives from the family i.e. max and co, and the stuck up parents and brother, and cat of a sister in law to be can they actually make this work.
Who needs Clark Kent when you can have Tony Reed! Get ready to fall in love with this sexy nerd. You think you might know him, but ladies you have no idea! This man has a yummy dark side, but all he wants is to be someone's first choice and not to come in second. Now let me introduce you to Lex. She is a sexy rocker vixen, with fiery red hair, and has some kick ass body art. She is this no nonsense woman that will tell you like it is. But we all our own secrets to bare, and she is no exception. And, she has a softer side she won't let anyone see. Until she meets Tony, the one person that has been able to break down her walls. Let's just say that opposites attract. Get ready to have some good laughs with the gang, cause Kellar is something else!
( What happens in Vegas, doesn't always stay in Vegas. )
Agonize is yet another one-sitting read for me. This is Tony's story, you know the hot nerd. Who doesn't want to dig that? This book can be read as a stand alone but i woild highly recommend to read the entire series to be able to relate more with the characters. Xavier Neal surprised me with the heroine.. I DIDN'T SEE that coming ir maybe it's my fault because i don't really read Synopsis, I just read whatever she writes because I know I will love it! So Lex, is a sexy Indie band vocalist and she's the exact opposite of the kindnof girls Tony dated. Their story perfectly fits in "opposite attracts" category. Another thing to love in this book are the hot love scenes! OMG! Seriously?! You might want to search for a hot nerd! This is a must read, hot and funny read!
Well, well, well... Who knew that Tony could be so hot and heavy in the bed room! Lol what a surprise! I loved Tony and Lex's story! I couldn't put it down! The series just keeps getting better and better! And I CAN NOT wait for Luke's book! I love this series! If you haven't started it, you need to its just awesome!
