The Minimalist Millennial: Declutter Your Space, Reduce Your Stress, and Live a Balanced Life

Rate this book
So you’ve recently graduated college and your life feels like a mess. You’re not passing the major milestones everyone seems to expect from you—the stable job, the steady partner, a house. You can forget about kids—you’re lucky if you can afford to pay rent. Many of your friends have moved back in with their parents, and you’re worried you may be next. With student loans to contend with, you’re in a near constant panic, and you’re not sure whether to live it up now and ignore the impending doom or just bury your head in the sand and hope a solution magically appears. Life wasn’t supposed to be this hard, right?

What do you do when your life options are totally different than you thought they’d be? That internship that you knew would hire you didn’t and you find yourself questioning everything about your life’s direction. What if there was a way you could feel good about your life, feel like you’re moving in the right direction, and even earn some respect from the “grown-ups” around you? Well, there’s an answer, but it’s probably not what you’re expecting.

Minimalism. The word probably brings to mind middle-aged white guys who made it big before the market crashed and now live an easy life in their “small” luxury condos, surviving with only a few designer shirts in their closets. Yeah, a real sacrifice, right? Well, what if there was another way? A way that was relatable to someone who doesn’t have gold bars tucked under their IKEA platform bed. In The Minimalist Millennial , author Brit McGinnis lays out a new possibility for the struggling twentysomethings of today. Whether you’re trying to cope with your parents, your career, or even your love life, she will show you how minimalism can give you a new lease on life.

Good, but too short

I gave it five stars because it really did keep my interest all the way to the end that didn't feel like the end. May I suggest the author find more parallels between her stuff and her decisions, and I'll likely buy that one too. It was a well stated life plan. I did find ideas worth keeping. Thanks.

not bad

It was good, but too short, which is to be expected from a book on minimalism, I guess. I enjoyed it.
